Amy and the Ancient Princess (Sonic Boom Story)

Chapter 1

It was a beautiful day over Hedgehog Island and Sonic and his friends were relaxing on the beach, just outside Sonic and Tails hut. Sonic was resting on a recliner as he watched Knuckles and Sticks play a game of volley ball, while Tails who was beside him was tinkering away with a machine. Soon Sonic realised that one of his friends wasn't there.

"H-hey, where's Amy?" Sonic asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh, she's off studying some ancient ruin we passed the other day, when we fought Eggman," said Sticks as she jumped up and flung the volley ball to Knuckles.

"Huh, ya mean, she's off on her own?" Sonic asked with concern on his face.

"Ah, she'll be fine, you know she can take care of herself, "stated Knuckles said as he missed the ball and it landed on his head, "ow," he muttered giving it a rub.

Just as Knuckles said that Sonic had took off running and headed for the deep jungle surround the village. He passed a few scattered ruins and a flash of pink soon caught his eyes, he had ran a bit in front of it, but he done a double take and turned back and skidded to a halt behind Amy.

Amy had been too engrossed in studying the ruins, when Sonic had first arrived, "hey Amy, what ya doing?" Asked Sonic.

Amy jumped slightly as she turned her head behind her and she stood to face the blue hedgehog "oh, hi Sonic I wasn't expecting you to come by."

"Yeah, Sticks told me you were out here, so thought I'd come check up on ya." Sonic explained with a shrug of his shoulders.

Amy slightly smiled "that's nice of you Sonic, but I'm afraid you're going to be bored if you're staying. I'll be a while." She said as she went back to checking out the ruins she ran her hands over some of the markings and examined them closer.

Sonic followed her watching her as she went, "what are you researching anyway?"

"Just a legend about an ancient princess," explained Amy as she used a magnifying glass.

"An ancient princess, never heard that one before." Sonic chuckled.

The hedgehogs walked further into the jungle with Amy still examining the ruins, as she went. They came across an old worn out temple in which nature had seemed to have taking over it , "whoa, look at this place, I bet I could find more clues in here." Amy grinned in excitement as she placed her hands on the door of the temple and tried to find a way to open it.

"Uh, won't there be boobie traps inside?" Sonic asked watching her fiddle about with the door.

"Probably, there always has been, whenever I've explored them." Amy replied as she finally figured out how to open the door. She'd found a panel on the door and it needed someone's hand print. She found it odd when it seemed to recognise hers, she frowned in confusion and she continued.

The ground surrounding the two hedgehogs shook a little "whoa, you got it open," exclaimed Sonic in amazement.

"Yeah, I don't even think I should have," Amy said frowning while looking at her hand.

"What do ya mean?" Asked Sonic as he approached her and was about to head in the temple.

Both hedgehogs suddenly froze with wide eyes when an evil laughter came from the temple. "Finally I'm free, now to seek my rightful power!" Said a loud booming voice.

"Uh, who or what just said that?" Sonic questioned a little alarmed.

Amy gasped when she spotted red eyes in the far bottom of the temple, they seemed too moved and fly towards them. "Look out!" She screamed and pulled Sonic to the ground. Once the two recovered from the fall they looked up only to find a dark figure in a black cloak turning round to them.

The only thing you could see underneath the cloak was the figures dark red eyes that slightly unnerved the two hedgehogs as the figure floated mid-air now in front of them. "Hm, hm, hm, many thanks for setting me free. I've tried everything to get out of that godforsaken place." The figure chuckled.

"W-who or what are you?!" Sonic demanded as he stared up at him.

"I'll shall soon be known as the ruler of this world, once my rightful power has returned to me!" The figure explained as he turned his back to the hedgehogs. "Now I must be off, your assistance will soon be rewarded." He said as he flew off.

"Amy please tell me you know who or what that is?" Sonic asked as he turned to Amy.

Amy shook herself out of her daze, "w-well if memory serves me right, I did actually examine a carving that sort of looked, liked that. But I really didn't think it was real." Amy explained with wide eyes.

"Let's go after him," Sonic said and was about to dash off but suddenly stopped by Amy.

"Wait Sonic!" Amy yelled as she looked into the temple.

"What, why?" Questioned the blue hedgehog as he skidded to a halt.

"Let's explore this temple first, I sort of feel drawn inside for some reason," Amy said as she stared into the darkness of the back of the temple.

Sonic rubbed his head, "uuuuuh, we might get lost in there."

Amy had started walking inside and suddenly torches with fire on the walls lit up. "Wow look at this place," Amy exclaimed. She awed at the carvings on the wall and suddenly stopped walking when she saw the end wall which showed the picture of a female hedgehog holding what looked like a staff.

Sonic had bumped into Amy when she stopped in her tracks, "ow, why'd ya stop Ames?" Sonic stepped beside Amy to see what she was looking at and gasped at what he saw. "Whoa, that hedgehog carved there almost looks like you Ames."

Amy sighed "that's why I'm researching this."

Suddenly the ground began to shake beneath the two hedgehogs, "uh, what's going on?" Panicked Sonic.

A hole in the ground had opened up and a green light shone from below, a golden coloured staff levitated up and landed right in front of Amy. Amy gasped as she stumbled back as it shone so brightly. It landed made its way to Amy's hand and once Amy grasped it a pink light surrounded her, making even Sonic close his eyes.

He slowly opened his eyes again only for them to widened in shock as his emerald eyes landed on a very beautiful pink hedgehog, slowly floating down to the ground, dressed in a long open front pink and purple dress with rims of gold along the bottom that seemed to shimmer brightly.

Sonic's mouth hung open slightly as her feet softly touched the ground and she lifted her head "whoa what just happened?" Sonic questioned "Amy does this mean you're a princess?"

"I….I….I guest it does why is this staff so familiar to me?" Amy gasped.
