Sitting atop the school building, Shin looked down at all the people leaving school. It had been two weeks since the fight with Riser and honestly, not much had happened since.

Shin spent this time thinking about what he wanted to do now with his life because he wasn't so sure. He wasn't sure a lot about a lot of things these days. To be honest, Shin was lost and without purpose.

He wasn't the kind of person to just mope around about it though. He didn't feel like he had a purpose, so he would find one. He wasn't sure what it would be yet, but he did find something to do in the meantime.

Shin looked up at the orange sky, so beautiful. He loved watching the sunset. It was always so calm and helped him think. Shin chuckled quietly to himself. Who would have thought, that Shin Hyoudou, the cold, cynical, and manipulative person, likes sunsets?

Turning around, Shin pushed and stood up from the ledge of the roof he was sitting on. Yuki was behind him, running around with a tennis ball in her mouth. She was throwing the ball with her mouth and then chasing after it once it got far enough away.

Shin smiled at his familiar and whistled at Yuki. She cocked her head to the side and looked at Shin. "It's time to go Yuki. We have to tie up some stuff before leaving Kuoh." Yuki pranced over to her ball and picked it up then returned to Shin's side. Her training has been going very well.

Together, the familiar and master left the roof and headed off.

All the members of the occult research club plus Asia were gathered together going through their monthly contract report when the doors to the club opened. Everyone looked to the doors to see Shin and Yuki walk through the door, Yuki excitedly running over to Asia.

"Shin your back!" Rias said excitedly. A week ago, Shin told everyone he would be gone for a bit and wouldn't be back for a little while. Of course, they all tried to get him to tell them where he was going, but Shin didn't say anything.

"Yes, my time away was very educational," Shin said smiling, and then took a seat beside Koneko on the couch.

"Where were you? What were you doing?" Rias asked, not knowing killing her.

Shin chuckled, she was helpless. "I was in the Underworld. Talking to your brother actually."

Rias looked surprised by that. "What were you talking to my brother about that took a week to talk about?" Rias asked worriedly. Shin could understand her worry, after all, her brother is the king of the underworld. Usually, week-long talks with the kind of the underworld are big.

Shin sighed. He dreaded talking about this. He looked to all the members of the Occult Research Club plus Asia. "I'm leaving Kuoh. Not just Kuoh Academy, all of Kuoh." Everybody in the room exclaimed their surprise. "I know this is seemingly coming out of nowhere, but this is truly what I want. This world, the supernatural world. It's so huge, so fascinating." Shin said with a smirk on his face and clenching his fist.

Shin's eyes began to glow as he felt his excitement rising just thinking about all the things the supernatural world has to offer. "I'm going to explore it. All of it."

Shin lowered his fist and looked up to Rias, as he knew she was the one who would have the most problem with him leaving, except for Asia. However, he had already talked to Asia about this and she refused to leave his side.

At first, Rias wanted to express her disagreement but seeing Shin's excitement and passion for exploring the supernatural world reminded her a lot about herself.

A girl with a love for Japanese culture wanting nothing more than to go to Japan and see it for herself. A small smile came to her face.

"Is that so," Rias said looking down. She didn't want to part with Shin, but she could tell his mind had already been made up. She looked back up to Shin. "I can tell this is important to you. I'm glad you found something that excites you this much."

"I as well. As much as I will hate to see my brother go, I can't help but feel happy you found something that makes you happy." Issei spoke up in his usual loud manner, bringing his fist up and clenching it. "Although I'm still pissed about that tranquilizer thing." He added at the end.

Shin chuckled heartily. "Again, I'm sorry about that," Shin said rubbing the back of his head. "But, thank you, guys. Truly. You have no idea how much your approval means to me." Shin said softly, his hand coming down to his side.

"I'm sorry I haven't shown it, but I care for you. All of you here. And I'm sorry I haven't been the greatest friend to all of you." Shin said shamefully, everybody looking down.

"It's okay Shin. We all make mistakes, we are just glad you're back with us." Rias said with a smile on her face.

"Thank you," Shin said and turned to Asia. "Are you ready to go?" Asia nodded and stood up, Yuki by her side.

"Asia is coming with you?" Issei asked, sounding disappointed. Shin knew Issei had developed a crush on Asia in the time she's stayed in the Hyoudou residence, but he would get over it he was sure.

Asia turned to Issei and gave him a sad look. "I'm sorry Ise. It's been great staying with your family, they are so kind. I hope you can forgive me." Asia said, bowing her head.

Issei shook his hands back and forth. "No, you don't have to apologize, Asia, you haven't done anything wrong." Asia raised her head. "I just was a bit surprised is all," Issei said chuckling and rubbing the back of his head. A habit that seemed to run in the Hyoudou family.

Asia nodded happily. "Come on Asia, it's time to go," Shin said smiling.

"What? Already? We haven't even thrown you a going away party or anything yet!" Rias exclaimed, slamming her hands on her desk and standing up.

Shin smirked, which then turned into a chuckle, and then into a full-blown laugh.

"What?! What is so funny?!" Rias yelled embarrassed.

Shin took a little longer to laugh and then finally stopped. "A going away party? It's not like this is goodbye Rias. I'll still be around, I'll come to visit." Shin smirked. "After all, are you forgetting I can teleport back here whenever I want to?" Shin pointed out the obvious.

Rias blushed even harder and looked down at her desk. "Y-Yeah, of course. I was just testing you." Rias said, refusing to look back up at Shin.

Shin laughed again. "Yes, of course. 'Testing me'." Shaking his head he turned around and opened the door. "I'll see you guys around. See ya." Shin smiled one last time, Asia saying her goodbyes as well, before leaving the Occult Research club.

He had already said his goodbyes to Sona and her peerage, as well as informed them that he was dropping out of school. After all, it's not like he was going to use anything else they would teach him there. He was ready for the next adventure.

It wasn't until two days later, however, that Rias finally realized Shin never told her why he was talking to Sirzechs.

Shin sat, isolated in a small confined space. There was no light, however, Shin could see just fine due to his devil vision. It had been a month and a half since he left Kuoh. A lot has happened since then.

Shin looked at his hands and let out a deep sigh. "Let me tell you a story," Shin said to the empty space. "A story about moral crossroads. As I'm truly curious, what you think father."

Shin sat in silence for a few seconds, before he heard the voice of someone to his right, unable to be seen by him, speaking. "Go on."

Shin smirked, a devil in confession. "Well, I've done some bad things father. And recently, I've been doing some reflecting, and I've concluded that killing, regardless of what it's for, is evil." Shin said to the empty space.

"However, something happened, that has me at a crossroads of sorts. You see, I was working a job last week. My employer had contacted me about someone that was murdering young women and had killed someone of high standing. Thus, I was hired to find them and bring them to justice." Shin said. All of it truthful, last week Sirzechs contacted him and told him someone was killing young women in the underworld.

It just so happened that one of the women he killed was the heir to the Vulpa clan, and thus the Underworld was hiring people to hunt down the killer.

"Honestly, it didn't take long to find him. He was hiding in an abandoned building in the vicinity of all the kills. However, unexpectedly, when I found him in the building, he surrendered."

Shin was quite surprised when the man surrendered. The man was turned out to be the son of the Greek god Prometheus and had been killing and raping a woman for weeks. They already knew who it was when they employed Shin, they just needed help finding him.

"He explained to me how he knew what he had done was wrong. How he hated himself for it. But he just couldn't help it, and he would do it again. And you know what he did? He begged me to kill him." Shin could hear the pastor's heartbeat speeding up on the other side of the confessional.

"Did you kill him?" The pastor asked, to which Shin ignored.

"Right there in front of me, was a man who knew what he did was wrong. A man who was addicted to killing and raping young women, akin to how someone is addicted to cigarettes. He knew he shouldn't be doing it, he knew it was wrong, he just did it anyways." The disgust in Shin's voice could be heard loud and clearly.

"And he was just sitting there in front of me, begging for me to kill him. And I thought to myself, no I shouldn't kill this man. Killing is evil. No matter how you put it, snuffing out a life is not the answer." Shin said, pausing.

"But does a man like that truly deserve to live? " Shin said heatedly. "No, they don't. So I shot him in the head." Shot was a loose term, technically, yes he shot him in the head. But in all actuality, he was shot in the head with an orb of power of destruction, so it was more like his head was blown off.

"Tell me, father, does that make me a bad person?" Shin asked the father in a menacing voice.

"Killing is a mortal sin. You've broken one of God's most sacred rules. You must repent my child. Seek forgiveness, pledge yourself to him, and your sins will be absolved." The pastor said.

Shin laughed. "Forgiveness? Even for devils like me padre?" Shin said, chuckling.

"Excuse me?" The pastor said, surprised and taken aback.

"You heard me padre. And I don't mean those fairy tail devils and demons. I mean the real thing. The 72 pillars and all." Shin said viciously. "It really has been nice talking to you padre. It's nice to get this stuff off my chest. Now I see why people do it."

Shin could hear the pastor's heartbeat and breathing become very intense. Shin had to resist busting out laughing.

Alas, however, it seemed his fun was ruined when the door to his confessional was swung upon rather quickly. In the doorway was a woman in her late 20s with blue eyes wearing the outfit of a nun.

However, this was no ordinary nun. The Q printed on the back of her hand symbolized that. This was the Queen of the Archangel Gabriel. Griselda Quarta.

"Shin, what are you doing in here." Griselda said rather scarily. Her hands were on her hips and her face looked down at Shin sternly.

Shin looked at the ground bashfully and rubbed the back of his head. "Uhh, just having some fun. Nothing to worry about. Promise." Shin said, however, that was proved to be false when the priest came bursting out of the confessional.

"Demon spawn! A devil! In the house of God!" The pastor screamed to everyone in the church, which just so happened to be in the swing of Sunday morning sermon.

Shin sweat dropped from inside of the confessional. "Well, that's my queue to leave. See ya later Griselda, pleasure doing business with you." Shin was then consumed in a flash of red lighting and he was gone.

Griselda facepalmed. "I should have known better than to team up with a devil." She looked back at the pastor who was still raving about a devil in the house of god. This would be a pain to clean up.

Sirzechs meanwhile was doing paperwork in his office when Shin suddenly appeared in front of him, sitting in a chair, in a flash of lightning.

"Job is done boss, without a hitch and definitely no political incidents at all," Shin said while saluting Sirzechs, his face set in an emotionless expression that could even give Grayfia a run for her money.

Speaking of which, just as Shin thought that Grayfia burst through the doors of Sirzechs office, her aura radiating from her body. She was looking all around the office for someone before her eyes finally landed on Shin.

Her face became irritated and her aura powered down. She looked to Sirzechs and bowed. "I'm sorry my king. I felt the wards on your office inform me of an intruder and came as soon as I could." Grayfia apologized.

This wasn't the first time Shin had done this. In fact, he did it quite often and it ended the same way every time. Grayfia would burst through the doors ready for a fight, only to find it was Shin somehow teleporting directly into the devil king's office. Which should be impossible!

She had personally combed every inch of the office trying to figure out how he was doing it but had thus far had no success. They still didn't even know what teleportation he was using. As far as they knew, there was no teleportation that looked like lightning, and then poof there the user was.

Shin looked at her for a second and then back to Sirzechs. "You know, this wouldn't be a problem if you just added me to the teleportation wards." Shin said offhandedly, only receiving an 'are you stupid' look from Sirzechs.

Sirzechs' eyes drifted up to Grayfia. "You may go now Grayfia, thank you as always for your quick reactions," Sirzechs said a bit irritated. He wishes he knew how Shin was teleporting into his office so he could stop it. Not that he minded Shin teleporting in, even if Shin wanted to kill him he didn't stand even a fraction of a chance of doing so.

However, they have had to reinforce the doors to his office three times now because Grayfia tended to break them when rushing into the office to protect him from the intruder.

"My king," Grayfia said while bowing and then left the office.

Sirzechs looked back to Shin with an expecting look, which Shin took as the cue to start explaining why he was there.

"The mission is complete, the rouge priest is dead. I did however run into Gabriel's queen during the mission and teamed up with her to find the priest." Shin reported to Sirzechs. For the last month and a half, Shin has been in the employment as a bounty hunter/assassin to earn money while he was on the road exploring the supernatural world.

"You didn't cause any trouble with the church right?" Sirzechs asked knowingly. One thing he learned from the last month was that Shin was very good at causing Serafall headaches with all the political trouble Shin causes everywhere he goes.

"Nope, of course not. I would never." Shin said smiling and letting out a few chuckles.

Sirzechs face fell into his hand and he let out a sigh. "Dammit Shin." That was all that needed to be said to get Sirzechs annoyance across. He took one last irritated sigh and then straightened himself out.

"As always, the payment will be deposited into your account, and as promised," Sirzechs picked up a small piece of parchment from his desk. "A teleportation flier to the entrance to Asgard." Sirzechs said holding the flier.

Shin looked at it excitedly. He has been looking forward to going to Asgard. From what he heard, they spent all day fighting, drinking mead, and eating food. It sounded amazing and exciting. Not to mention, Asgard had some very strong fighters.

"Now to be clear, if you make any trouble with the Norse pantheon, they are your problems and your problems alone. This trip to Asgard has no affiliations to the devils." Sirzechs stressed.

Shin rolled his eyes. "Yes, yes. Now give me the flier." Shin said, making a reach for it but Sirzechs pulled it away. Shin looked at Sirzechs irritated.

"First, you must sign this," Sirzechs said sliding a piece of paper in front of Shin as well as a pen. Shin skimmed through it and basically what it said was what Sirzechs just told him. Any actions or crimes he commits while in Asgard are unaffiliated with the devil pantheon and are his and only his crimes to bear. It seemed Serafall was fed up with having to clean up Shin's messes.

He grabbed the pen and signed the parchment, his signature briefly glowing, as the pen was a magical pen used to put one's aura into signatures to stop forgery.

Once the paper was signed Sirzechs gave Shin the slip of paper. "Pleasure doing business with you. I'll be taking an extended leave while I explore everything Asgard has to offer. I'll contact you when I'm ready for more missions." Shin said.

Sirzechs nodded, and Shin stood up, preparing to leave the office. He would have just teleported, but there were some people in the Gremory mansion he wanted to see before leaving.

"Also, before I go. Has anything of significance happened in Kuoh?" Shin asked seriously, probing for information.

Sirzechs grew serious as well. "No, why? Are you expecting there to be?" Sirzechs asked, anything that could put Rias in danger was considered a very serious matter by him.

That was good news for Shin. He wasn't sure how far away it was before Kokobiel would attack Kuoh if he even would. Shin wasn't sure, so much is different in this world than the original anime. Sirzechs is a prime example.

"Let's just say I hear some things on the road. But don't worry, Rias and Sona aren't in danger. I was just merely curious." Shin walked out of the office on that note, leaving Sirzechs slightly worried.

Sirzechs still didn't know fully how to feel about Shin. However, there was a sense of comradery Sirzechs always felt when Shin was near, one he hadn't felt in a very long time. On top of that, for whatever reason he was not sure, Sirzechs felt with absolute certainty that he could trust Shin.

Shin walked through the extravagant halls of the Gremory mansion. He could sense the aura of the people he was looking for in one of the many living rooms. Walking into the said living room, he saw the two red-haired twins from before relaxing and watching devil TV.

"Hina, Asuka," Shin said walking behind the couch. These were in fact, the same twins he found himself waking up with that drunken morning after the Riser fight.

He ran into them again when he came here to negotiate with Sirzechs after the Riser fight.

It turned out he didn't have to worry about Sirzechs finding out about him having sex with his twin daughters because he already knew. They told him that naturally, Sirzechs planned on turning him into a blood stain on the pavement when found out, but they put him in his place.

They explained that they were full-grown adults and had the right to spend time and have sex with whoever the hell they wanted. They were devils, it was literally in their nature to do so.

From what the twins said, Sirzechs wives also had a role to play in making him back down.

Shin had no romantic relations with either Hina or Asuka, they were merely friends. Friends that often had sex, but still just friends.

"Shin!" Hina and Asuka excitedly exclaimed, turning around to hug him. He welcomed them both into his arms. The hug didn't last long, and Shin took a seat in between them.

"So, what are we watching," Shin asked as he relaxed into the couch with the twins. This was quite a regular occurrence for them. It was always a good way to relax after a mission.

After watching TV with the twins for a couple of hours, Shin returned to the hotel where Asia, him, and Yuki were currently staying. Which at the moment, was in Rome.

When he teleported to the hotel he found Asia and Yuki playing

together. Both of them had changed quite a lot in the last month and a half.

Asia decided to change up her hairstyle, opting to put her hair in two braids going all the way down to her lower back. It looked very good in his opinion. Not only that but exploring the world both supernatural and non-supernatural had brought her out of her shell and has long since stopped wearing her regular nun outfits, tending to now wear something more akin to the trending fashion from many different places they had visited.

Yuki meanwhile, had grown a lot in the last month. After all, she was a Dire Wolf. Not to mention, familiar's grow depending on their master's strength.

Since they are bound to their master's evil piece, as their master grows strong, so does the familiar. It's like she would be much stronger than the normal Dire Wolf once she grew up.

At the moment, she had grown to the size of a large dog. Her head easily came up to Asia's chest when she was on all fours. As well as she started to exhibit magical traits she didn't have bore, nor her mother. Shin and Asia both started to notice that Yuki was always cold to the touch, and even exuded cold air.

It's not surprising considering where she came from and her ability to use demonic magic due to her being in a master familiar pack. Shin was excited to see all the abilities she would exhibit, however.

"I'm back," Shin said, announcing his return to the two. Asia and Yuki both turned to him excitedly, the former quickly running over and pouncing on Shin. Putting her paws on her shoulders and licking his face all over. She has grown to be a very affectionate wolf.

"Alright Yuki, that's enough," Shin said while laughing, and lightly pushed her off him. He wiped his face of the slobber with his hand. "I have good news."

Asia however, seeing as Yuki was no longer giving Shin attention, it was her turn and wrapped Shin up in a hug. Shin smiled and returned the hug and explained to her the news.

"I got a teleportation flier to Asgard. We will be going tomorrow and be staying there for a while most likely." Shin said, causing Asia to perk up.

"Really? That sounds amazing!" Asia said excitedly. So far, they had not seen much of the supernatural world as it wasn't exactly easy to find places that had a lot of supernatural existences.

Asia released Shin from her hug and instantly went over to the hotel room's closet to start packing all her clothes so they could leave in the morning. Shin clenched his fist and looked down at it, small sparks of red lightning kissing his closed fist.

He was so excited to go to Asgard. He just knew that it would be amazing. He knew he would fit in perfectly there. Finally, his adventure would start.

He decided long ago he would just let the plot play out by itself. Sure, he might intersect with it in his travels, or maybe help out here and there.

He wasn't concerned with the plot of DxD. He was only interested in having fun, and living the life he wanted to. He wasn't going to live his life in the plot of DxD, he would forge his own path.
