The echoes of the battle with the Dark Elves had barely faded, and yet the weight of the encounter lingered in the air. While the Asgardians began the arduous process of interrogating their captured enemies, Shin and Asia found themselves with time on their hands. With the skirmish behind them but no further action required until the interrogations yielded answers, they decided to take a week to explore the wonders of Asgard.
Shin suggested it first, though he could tell from Asia's eyes that she needed it too. The strain of battle had left them both on edge, and this realm had so much to offer—so much magic and beauty that they had only just begun to uncover.
And so, they set off.
Their first stop was Yggdrasil—the World Tree.
(Add a smoother transition)
Yggdrasil loomed before them, larger than anything Shin had ever seen, stretching impossibly high into the sky. The tree's massive trunk was ancient, covered in thick bark that shimmered with the faint glow of magic. Its branches twisted and curled into the heavens, connecting the realms in ways that only the gods fully understood.
Shin stood at the base of the tree, his head tilted back as he tried to take in the sheer magnitude of it. Even with all the fantastical things he had seen since reincarnating into this world, Yggdrasil took his breath away. The air around it was charged with energy—raw, ancient power that seemed to hum just beneath the surface of reality.
Asia stood beside him, her expression soft and serene as she gazed up at the towering branches. "It's beautiful," she whispered, her voice filled with awe.
Shin nodded, but he couldn't find the words to express what he felt. There was something more here, something deeper. He could feel it, a pulse of energy beneath his feet, as if the tree itself was alive in ways beyond comprehension. His fingers itched with the desire to touch it, to connect with the magic that flowed through its roots and veins.
As they ventured closer to the trunk, Shin became increasingly aware of the creatures that made their home near Yggdrasil. A few steps further, and the air around them shifted, revealing ethereal beings flitting between the branches. Spirits, their forms shimmering like gossamer, drifted lazily in the glow of the tree's energy. Shin watched them with fascination, feeling their presence brush against his senses like a distant memory.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, Shin noticed something far more menacing.
"Nidhogg," he murmured.
At the base of the tree, coiled around its roots, was Nidhogg—the dragon that gnawed at the roots of Yggdrasil. Its dark scales glinted under the faint light of the realm, its body twisted in a lazy, predatory loop around the tree's foundation. The creature's eyes gleamed, watching them with cold intelligence, though it made no move to approach.
Asia followed his gaze and took a sharp breath. "That's…"
"Yeah." Shin's voice was calm, but he kept his distance. Nidhogg was not a threat to them, at least not today. It was part of the natural order here, as old and as bound to Yggdrasil as the tree itself.
"It feels… alive," Asia whispered, her gaze transfixed by the tree. Her hand drifted to her chest, where her Sacred Gear rested dormant for now. "Like it's part of everything. The world, the realms, even us."
Shin turned to her, his eyes narrowing slightly as he focused on the tree's aura. Asia was right—there was a connection here, one that went deeper than he had anticipated. The magic flowing through Yggdrasil was woven into the fabric of existence itself, a living thread that tied the realms together. And for a brief moment, as Shin closed his eyes and reached out with his senses, he could feel it.
A vision flashed before him—a vision of Yggdrasil standing tall, not just as a tree, but as the heart of all realms. He saw its roots burrow deep into the realms, touching every corner of the supernatural world. He saw battles fought beneath its branches, gods and creatures alike seeking refuge in its shade, and the magic that sustained all things flowing through its roots.
Shin's breath caught in his throat as the vision faded, leaving him with a sense of awe and responsibility. Yggdrasil wasn't just a tree—it was a lifeline, a conduit for the magic that connected everything.
When he opened his eyes, Asia was watching him, concern flickering in her expression. "Shin?"
He smiled softly, shaking off the remnants of the vision. "I'm fine. Just… this place. It's more than I expected."
Asia nodded, her gaze drifting back to the tree. She stepped forward, her fingers lightly brushing the bark. The moment her skin touched it, a soft glow emanated from her hand, and the tension in her shoulders seemed to melt away. "It's peaceful," she murmured, her eyes closing as she breathed in the calming energy of Yggdrasil. "I can feel it… healing."
Shin could feel it now—Yggdrasil wasn't just an ancient tree; it was alive in ways far beyond what he could see or understand. It was calling to him, pulling him closer with a magnetic force that made his heart race. What do you want? he wondered, though deep down, he already knew the answer. The tree needed something from him, and it wasn't going to let him leave without giving it.
Without a word, Shin took a step forward, his eyes locked on the massive trunk before him. Each step felt heavier than the last, the pull of the tree growing stronger, more insistent. The air around him thrummed with energy, a low hum that resonated deep in his bones. He reached out, his palm hovering just inches from the bark, and in that moment, the voice in his head became clearer—louder. It was a whisper at first, a soft echo that urged him forward. Touch it, the voice said. Touch the tree.
His hand trembled slightly as he inched closer, the pull almost unbearable now. He could feel it coursing through him, a power so vast and ancient that it made his own magic feel like a flicker of flame compared to an inferno. And yet, despite the intensity, there was no fear—only the need to answer the call.
Finally, his palm made contact with the bark.
The moment his skin touched the tree, Shin let out a sharp gasp, his breath stolen from him as a surge of energy ripped through his body. His pupils vanished, leaving only the whites of his eyes, and in an instant, it felt as though he was being hurled through space at a speed beyond comprehension. The world around him dissolved, replaced by a whirlwind of visions—events flashing before his eyes so quickly that he couldn't grasp them, couldn't understand what he was seeing.
What is this? he thought, panic rising for a brief second before the flood of images overwhelmed him.
He saw Yggdrasil, not as it stood now, but as a tiny seedling, fragile and small, barely clinging to life. Time sped forward, and the seedling grew, its roots spreading deep into the ground, its branches stretching out across the sky, connecting the realms, weaving the magic of all existence into a single, living entity. The tree's growth was a blur of time, millennia passing in the blink of an eye, life blossoming and dying in an endless cycle beneath its branches.
He saw battles fought in its shade, gods and mortals alike, their struggles written into the very fabric of the realms. He saw creatures—some he recognized, others beyond his imagination—living and thriving in the tree's presence. Yggdrasil wasn't just a tree. It was life. It was magic. It was the very essence of existence.
Then, as quickly as it had begun, the vision ended.
Shin gasped, his eyes snapping open, his breath coming in ragged pants as the world settled back into place around him. His hand was still pressed against the bark of Yggdrasil, the tree's magic thrumming beneath his palm. But just as he was about to pull his hand away, he heard it—soft and distant, like a whisper carried on the wind.
Be wary of the road ahead, Inheritor of the Light.
The voice was feminine, gentle yet filled with a power that sent a chill down Shin's spine. He stood frozen for a moment, the words echoing in his mind. Inheritor of the Light? What did that mean? And why had Yggdrasil chosen to speak to him?
Shin pulled his hand away from the tree, his mind racing with questions. He blinked, his vision clearing as the world around him settled back into focus. Asia was standing nearby, watching him with concern.
"Shin? Are you okay?" she asked softly, stepping closer.
He forced a smile, nodding slowly as he tried to push aside the lingering confusion. "Yeah… yeah, I'm fine," he said, though the words felt hollow. His mind was still reeling from what he had just experienced, the weight of the vision heavy on his shoulders.
For now, he would keep it to himself. There would be time later to understand what had happened. But something told him that whatever that voice had meant by "Inheritor of the Light," it wasn't a title he could afford to ignore.
Shin stood still for a moment, his mind still reeling from the intense connection with Yggdrasil. But as the tension in his body slowly eased, he turned to Asia with a small, reassuring smile. "Alright," he said, breaking the lingering silence. "Let's head to the next sight. I pulled some strings with Thor and Odin, and they've granted us permission to visit the Well of Urd."
Asia's eyes widened slightly, her curiosity piqued. "The Well of Urd?" she asked, excitement and a hint of nervousness in her voice. "That's… where the Norns are, right? The ones who control fate?"
Shin nodded. "That's the one. It's not a place many get to visit, but we've been given access. It holds knowledge of the past, present, and future. And from what I've heard, meeting the Norns is… an experience." He paused, his voice softening. "I don't know what we'll find there, but something tells me this will be important for both of us."
Asia glanced back at Yggdrasil, as if reluctant to leave its peaceful presence, but after a moment, she nodded. "Then we should go. If the Norns are watching over fate, maybe we'll learn something that can help us on this journey."
With that, they turned away from the World Tree and began their journey to the Well of Urd.
(Scene Break)
The journey was quiet, the path winding through Asgard's serene landscapes, yet there was a palpable weight in the air. As they neared the Well of Urd, the very atmosphere seemed to thrum with power, as if they were drawing closer to the core of something far greater than themselves.
Finally, they arrived at a clearing, where the Well of Urd lay hidden from the outside world. Its waters were still, yet they seemed to ripple with unseen energy. The well itself was ancient, its stone surface covered in intricate runes that glowed faintly in the twilight. And there, standing at the edge of the well, were the Norns—Urd, Verdandi, and Skuld.
Urd, the eldest, stood with an air of unshakable authority. Her long, silvery-white hair flowed past her shoulders, shimmering in the fading light like moonbeams. Her eyes, deep and stormy gray, seemed to hold the weight of countless lifetimes. They were sharp, always watching, always knowing. Her skin was pale, etched with fine lines that spoke of wisdom gained over eons. Draped in heavy robes of deep indigo and silver, Urd's presence was like that of a great mountain—steadfast, immovable, and filled with the quiet strength of the past.
Verdandi, the Norn of the present, stood with a calm, serene expression. Her dark brown hair was pulled back into a loose braid that fell down her back, and strands of gold and green threaded through it, symbolizing life and the ever-changing nature of the world. Her eyes, a vibrant green, were sharp and full of clarity, as if she could see every moment unfolding before her. Verdandi's skin had a warm, sun-kissed glow, and her robes were lighter—made of flowing emerald and gold fabric, with intricate patterns that seemed to shift and change as the wind stirred. She radiated a steady, grounded presence, embodying the current of life that moved through all things.
Skuld, the youngest, was a striking contrast to her elder sisters. She had a mischievous glint in her eyes, which were a bright, electric blue, almost glowing in the dim light. Her hair was a wild cascade of platinum blonde, falling loosely around her shoulders, with small braids woven through it, adorned with silver charms. Skuld's skin was youthful and pale, and her robes were a stark white, embroidered with silver thread that gleamed with otherworldly light. Her energy was restless, always in motion, reflecting the uncertainty and potential of the future. Though she smiled softly, there was a sharpness to her gaze—a sense that she knew secrets about the days to come, secrets that could change everything.
Shin and Asia approached cautiously, feeling the weight of destiny pressing down on them with every step. The Norns were ethereal in their appearance, their forms shimmering slightly, as though they were not entirely bound to this realm. Urd, the eldest, had eyes that seemed to hold the knowledge of countless lifetimes. Verdandi's presence was both calming and unsettling, her gaze piercing as if she could see through to their very souls. Skuld, the youngest, had an air of unpredictability about her, her expression playful yet distant.
The three sisters turned their attention to Shin and Asia, their expressions unreadable.
"You've come," Urd said, her voice deep and resonant, carrying the weight of eternity. "The Inheritor of Light… and the Healer. We've been expecting you."
Shin stiffened slightly at the mention of "Inheritor of Light," the same title he had heard at Yggdrasil. How do they know? he thought, but he remained silent, letting Urd continue.
"We know why you are here," Verdandi said, her voice softer but no less commanding. "The road ahead of you is not an easy one. You will face many trials—trials that will test not only your strength, but your will."
Skuld stepped forward, a faint smile on her lips. "There are forces in motion beyond what you can see, Shin Hyoudou. Freya, the goddess of love and war, has taken an interest in you. But beware—her interest is never without cost."
Shin exchanged a glance with Asia, feeling a chill run down his spine. Freya? He hadn't even met her yet, but if the Norns were warning him about her, then there was more to this than he had anticipated. His mind raced, trying to piece together what the goddess of love and war could want with him, but before he could dwell on it further, Urd's gaze deepened, her voice becoming more somber.
"There are darker forces at play as well," Urd continued, her gray eyes boring into his. "Enemies who lurk in the shadows, waiting for their moment to strike. Your journey is only just beginning, Inheritor of the Light."
Shin felt the weight of her words settle heavily on his shoulders. Freya... and darker forces? He had suspected that Asgard held more danger than it appeared, but hearing it from the Norns made it all the more real. His thoughts churned, already trying to anticipate what challenges lay ahead.
But Urd wasn't finished. Her voice dropped to a near whisper, though it seemed to echo within Shin's mind. "Beware, Inheritor... your greatest nemesis is plotting in the dark. The one who brought fire... is watching. Always watching."
The words struck Shin like a hammer blow. The one who brought fire? His thoughts immediately turned to the old myths—Loki, the trickster and bringer of chaos. Could it be him? Or was there another force lurking in the shadows, one that posed a threat far greater than anything he had yet faced?
His mouth felt dry, and his heart thudded heavily in his chest. Loki? The mere possibility sent a wave of dread through him. Loki was not just a trickster—he was a mastermind of chaos and destruction. If he was involved, things were about to get a lot more complicated.
Shin clenched his fists, steadying himself. There was no room for fear—not now. He had faced dangers before, and he would face them again. But Urd's warning lingered, the weight of destiny pressing down on him harder than ever.
Asia, sensing his unease, touched his arm gently. "Shin... what do you think she means? The one who brought fire?"
Shin shook his head, still trying to process it all. "I don't know yet... but if it's what I think, we might be dealing with something—someone—far more dangerous than we expected." His voice was steady, but beneath it, a quiet resolve had taken root. He wouldn't back down, no matter who or what was coming.
The Norns, having delivered their warnings, remained silent, their enigmatic gazes unreadable. Fate had been set into motion, and only time would reveal what awaited them in the shadows.
Asia, meanwhile, stood quietly beside him, her brow furrowed in thought. "What should we do?" she asked softly. "If there's danger ahead… how do we prepare?" Her voice was laced with uncertainty, the burden of the Norns' warnings settling heavily on her shoulders.
Verdandi's gaze softened as she looked at Asia, her green eyes warm with understanding. "There will come a time," she began, her voice like a gentle breeze, "atop a great mountain, when all may seem lost. In that moment, Healer, you will know what to do. Trust in your choice, for it will bring salvation to the world."
Asia blinked, the weight of Verdandi's words washing over her like a wave. A mountain? A choice that will bring salvation? The idea seemed impossible, overwhelming even, but Verdandi's words carried a certainty that filled Asia with a quiet sense of purpose.
"Trust in yourself, Healer," Verdandi continued, her tone steady and reassuring. "The path may be uncertain, but your heart knows what is right. Do not fear the challenges to come."
Shin could sense Asia's internal struggle, her mind racing with the enormity of what had just been said. He knew the weight of responsibility she carried, and he admired her strength. No matter how overwhelming things became, Asia always found a way to push through. Her resolve remained strong, even in the face of such daunting prophecies.
"Asia," Shin said gently, turning to her with a soft smile. "Whatever happens, we'll face it together. You're not alone in this." His words were calm but filled with certainty, a reminder that whatever fate had in store, they would meet it side by side.
Asia nodded slowly, her eyes meeting his with a new sense of determination. "You're right," she said, her voice steadying. "We'll face it together."
Despite the lingering uncertainties, something had shifted in Asia's heart. Verdandi's words had planted a seed of faith within her, and though the path ahead was shrouded in mystery, she was ready to trust herself when the time came.
"The Well of Urd holds the knowledge of fate," Skuld said, gesturing to the shimmering waters behind them. "But fate is never fixed. You have the power to shape it, if you choose."
Urd nodded. "Be wary of what lies ahead, Shin Hyoudou. You will be tested. And only through these trials will your true strength be revealed. Do not let the darkness consume you."
With those final words, the Norns stepped back, their forms fading slightly as though they were being drawn back into the currents of fate. The well remained still, its secrets hidden once more.
Shin and Asia stood in silence for a moment, the weight of the Norns' words sinking in.
"Well," Shin said softly, breaking the quiet, "that was… intense."
Asia nodded, her gaze lingering on the well. "I wasn't expecting to hear all of that. Freya, the trials… and now this warning about a mountain? It feels like we're walking into something bigger than we thought."
Shin exhaled slowly, his thoughts still racing. "Yeah… I think we are. But whatever's coming, we'll face it together."
Asia smiled at that, her confidence slowly returning as Verdandi's words echoed in her mind. When the time comes, I'll know what to do. "We always do."
Together, they turned away from the Well of Urd, the sense of destiny heavy on their minds. There was no telling what awaited them next, but one thing was certain—this journey through Asgard was far from over.
(Scene Break)
As Shin and Asia made their way back from the Well of Urd, the air around them seemed to shift, carrying with it a presence that was both powerful and alluring. Shin felt it first, a subtle change in the atmosphere that set his instincts on high alert. He glanced at Asia, who looked just as puzzled, her eyes scanning the path ahead.
Before either of them could speak, a figure appeared on the road ahead, her very presence commanding attention. She moved with an ethereal grace, her silver hair cascading down her back in soft waves that shimmered in the light. Her regal clothing, a flowing gown adorned with gold and intricate embroidery, seemed to glisten with otherworldly magic. Atop her head rested a gleaming golden crown, delicately crafted yet imposing, signifying her divine status.
This was Freya, the Norse goddess of love, beauty, and war—and she was, without question, the epitome of beauty itself. Her every movement was captivating, her very essence radiating with a seductive power that had mesmerized much of the supernatural world. Her flawless skin and bright, piercing eyes made it impossible to look away, and yet, beneath the softness of her appearance, there was a dangerous edge. She was a goddess of war just as much as she was of beauty.

Freya's lips curved into a slight smile as her gaze locked onto Shin, her interest in him immediately apparent. "So, this is the famed Shin Hyoudou," she said, her voice smooth and melodious, yet carrying a weight that commanded attention. "I've heard quite a bit about you."
Shin blinked, caught off guard by her sudden appearance. "Freya, right?" He tried to keep his tone casual, but the intensity of her gaze was hard to ignore.
Freya's smile widened. "Indeed. It seems you know of me, though I must admit, seeing you in person is far more… intriguing than I expected."
Asia, standing close to Shin, instinctively shifted, her expression tightening as Freya's attention remained fixated on him. The goddess's flirtatious tone didn't go unnoticed, and Asia's protective instincts kicked in almost immediately. "What do you want with us?" Asia asked, her voice steady but holding a subtle edge.
Freya's eyes flicked to Asia, her smile never faltering, but there was a glimmer of amusement in her gaze. "I merely wished to meet the young man who has caused such a stir in Asgard. It's not every day that someone like you comes along, Shin. You possess a power… untapped potential." Her eyes trailed over Shin with curiosity, as though she were assessing him. "I wonder just how strong you are."
Shin could feel the tension between Freya and Asia building, and he stepped forward, his body language calm but ready. "I'm not really in the mood for tests right now," he said, his voice steady, though he kept his eyes on Freya's.
Freya chuckled softly, her hand brushing a lock of her silver hair over her shoulder. "Oh, don't worry. I'm not here to fight you… at least, not today." She tilted her head slightly, her gaze sharp. "But you will prove your worth to me, Shin Hyoudou. Consider this a challenge—for the future."
Shin raised an eyebrow, unsure of what Freya's true intentions were, but he could feel the weight of her words. This wasn't a simple flirtation—Freya was testing him, pushing him, setting the stage for something much bigger. "A challenge?" he asked, his tone guarded. "What exactly are you asking for?"
Freya's smile turned mysterious. "In due time, you'll know. When the moment is right, we will meet again, and you'll show me just how much potential you truly have." She took a step closer, her presence almost overwhelming. "And when that time comes, I expect nothing less than your best."
Asia, sensing the shift in the conversation, took a small step forward, her gaze hardening as she positioned herself slightly between Shin and Freya. "Whatever challenge you have in mind," Asia said, her voice calm but firm, "Shin won't be alone. We'll face it together."
Freya's eyes flicked between them, her smile never wavering, but there was a glint of amusement in her gaze. "Oh, how sweet," she mused. "But, dear Asia, not every battle is one you can fight for him."
The tension between the three of them hung in the air, heavy and unspoken. Freya's power was undeniable, and though her demeanor was playful, there was a sense of danger beneath the surface—a challenge that Shin couldn't ignore.
"I accept," Shin said finally, his voice steady. He met Freya's gaze head-on, his resolve clear. "Whatever challenge you have in store, I'll face it."
Freya's smile widened, her eyes gleaming with approval. "Good. I look forward to it, Shin." With that, she stepped back, her gaze lingering on him for a moment longer before she turned gracefully, her ethereal form seeming to shimmer as she moved. "Until we meet again."
And just like that, Freya was gone, disappearing as swiftly as she had arrived, leaving behind a palpable sense of foreboding.
Shin let out a slow breath, glancing at Asia. Her expression remained tense, her eyes still narrowed in the direction Freya had left. "I don't trust her," Asia muttered, folding her arms. "There's something else going on with her."
Shin nodded, his thoughts still on the encounter. "Yeah, me neither. But we'll deal with it when the time comes."
They stood there for a moment longer, the weight of Freya's challenge hanging in the air, before continuing on their path, both of them keenly aware that this was only the beginning of something much larger.
Shin and Asia walked in silence, the weight of the encounter with Freya lingering in the air between them. Their footsteps echoed softly against the ancient path, but it wasn't just the sound of their steps that filled the quiet—both of their minds were still turning over what had just happened. The Well of Urd had warned Shin to be cautious of Freya, yet something about her stuck with him, tugging at him in ways he hadn't expected.
Shin's thoughts swirled, still reeling from the surreal meeting. Why am I so drawn to her? he wondered. It wasn't just her beauty—though it was undeniable. There was something more. A natural pull, as though fate itself was luring him toward her. He knew she was the goddess of love, sex, and war, but the attraction wasn't just physical. It felt as though some invisible thread was binding him to her, pulling tighter with every word she spoke, every glance she gave.
His eyes trailed after her as she walked away, the sway of her hips holding his attention longer than it should have. He knew it wasn't right—Urd had warned me, he thought, but despite the warnings, he couldn't help it. There was something about her, something that whispered to him beyond mere attraction. The sway of her figure as she disappeared into the distance lingered in his vision, almost hypnotic.
Beside him, Asia noticed. She always noticed. Her heart twinged as she caught the way Shin's gaze followed Freya, her attention focused on the goddess's movements. Asia's stomach tightened, and a hint of self-consciousness crept in. She had never been one to feel insecure about herself, but in that moment, standing next to Freya's ethereal beauty, she couldn't help but wonder if she measured up. Does he find her more beautiful? she wondered, her gaze flickering to the ground. Her hand instinctively brushed against her own body, her mind comparing herself to the Norse goddess, but she pushed the thought aside before it could grow any deeper.
Still, the tightness in her chest remained, and without thinking, she let out a small pout, glancing up at Shin with wide eyes. She didn't say anything, but the way she looked at him, with those soft, pleading eyes, was enough to pull him from his thoughts of Freya.
Shin blinked as he turned to Asia, immediately drawn back to the present. When his eyes met hers, the weight of his earlier thoughts melted away, replaced by something warmer, something deeper. Asia, he thought, a small smile tugging at his lips. She always had a way of grounding him, bringing him back to what truly mattered. And right now, she was looking at him with that adorable pout she so rarely showed, her lips ever so slightly pulled down, her cheeks faintly flushed. His heart stirred at the sight, a rush of affection washing over him.
Without even thinking, Shin reached out. His hand cupped the bottom of her chin, his fingers gentle but firm. Asia's breath hitched in surprise, her eyes widening as she looked up at him, completely caught off guard. Her heart raced as she felt the warmth of his touch, and before she could say anything, he tilted her chin up, lifting her face toward his.
The world seemed to slow around them. Shin leaned in, his gaze soft and full of affection, and before Asia could fully process what was happening, his lips met hers in a tender, loving kiss.
Asia froze, her mind going completely blank. She hadn't expected this—Shin had never kissed her like this before. The sensation of his lips on hers, the warmth of his hand holding her chin, it all felt so sudden, so overwhelming. Her heart pounded in her chest, her cheeks flushing a deep red as she instinctively closed her eyes, leaning into the kiss.
When Shin pulled away, it was slow, deliberate, his hand still resting under her chin. Asia's eyes fluttered open, her breath shallow as she stared at him in disbelief, her lips tingling from the unexpected kiss.
"You don't have to worry," Shin murmured softly, his voice full of warmth and certainty. "You are, and always will be, my number one girl. No one could take your place."
Asia's heart skipped a beat, the tension in her chest unraveling all at once. His words, spoken with such sincerity, washed over her, soothing the insecurities that had crept in moments before. She felt her eyes sting with the threat of tears, but they were tears of relief, of happiness. She smiled softly, her cheeks still flushed, but now with a different kind of warmth.
"Shin…" she whispered, her voice barely audible as she searched his eyes for any hint of doubt, but there was none. Only love and reassurance.
Shin smiled down at her, his thumb brushing lightly across her chin before he let his hand fall back to his side. "You'll always be my number one, Asia," he repeated gently, and in that moment, any thoughts of Freya, of the goddess's allure, faded into the background. There was no one else—no one who mattered more to him than the girl standing in front of him now.
Asia's heart swelled with love and gratitude, and though she didn't say it aloud, she knew in that moment that whatever challenges lay ahead, as long as Shin was by her side, she would face them without fear.
After traveling with Asia, spending so much time by her side, Shin realized that she was no longer just the excommunicated nun he had met long ago. She had grown into someone so much more—a strong, independent, and confident young woman who had faced countless challenges and come out stronger each time. Her resilience and determination inspired him, and Shin couldn't help but admire the beautiful, radiant person she had become.
She stood before him now, the same warmth and light that had always drawn him to her, but there was something different about her—a quiet strength that made her presence all the more magnetic. Asia had faced darkness and despair, yet here she was, standing tall, her soft smile full of hope and love. Shin saw the fire within her, the determination that drove her to protect and heal others. He could see it in her eyes, the same eyes that held so much compassion for everyone around her, and he knew, without a doubt, that she was the one person he wanted to stand beside through everything.
They stood there for a moment longer, the world around them quiet, as if the entire realm of Asgard had stilled for them. The weight of the day's events began to melt away, replaced by the warmth of their connection, the unspoken bond they had formed over time. Freya may have been a goddess—ethereal and alluring in ways that few could compare—but to Shin, Asia was so much more. She was the one who had stood by him, who had faced every challenge at his side. She wasn't just a source of strength; she was his heart, his anchor.
Freya may have stirred something fleeting, a whisper of fate, but Asia was his everything. And that was all that mattered.
