Marine Academy

Part 1

Chapter 7

"That's insane," the man grumbled, a wooden katana in his hand.

4The young woman was at his feet, covered in sweat. They had spent the weekend together, the soldier trying to teach her the basics of the art of combat, the blond trying to survive as best she could.

"But what were you doing during your training classes?" He questioned, surprised that a member of the Marine Academy had such a pitiful level in combat.

"I was revising my anatomy lessons on girls." The blonde replied, trying to catch her breath.

Sakazuki sighed. She felt that she was exasperating him but he was kind enough not to tell her openly. Murphy was grateful to him because, from what she had heard from the gossip, he knew how to be ruthless during training with the other soldiers.

"It's suicide not to train you for combat when some of you will be on missions on warships."

Murphy felt a hint of annoyance and worry in his voice.

"Because it will be your job to protect us" The blonde replied, smiling at him. "I save lives, you stop the bad guys. Trust me, my brain will be worth as much as your muscles in a few years". She continued, laughing. "

Okay, come on, I give up." Murphy sat on the ground, trying to catch her breath.

This weekend had been exhausting. But Sakazuki knew how to be a good teacher, and she enjoyed spending time with him anyway, no matter what activity they did together.

She had tried to get information from him about his mission but without success. She had just discovered a few new discreet scars on his torso.

"Luckily I chose medicine and not combat, I wouldn't have lasted long" she thought, watching Sakazuki sit down next to her.

"Thanks for taking the time to train me this weekend Saka."

He didn't answer, just handed her a bottle of cold water.

Time slowed down for a moment for Murphy. She had never been one to hide her feelings or deny her emotions (unlike the man, apparently). She recognized this feeling when she was by his side, a mixture of trust, security, peace, joy and attachment. Every minute spent by his side was pleasant. She liked talking to him or simply being with him in silence. He had never raised his voice against her, always speaking to her kindly, and the young woman knew deep down that he would protect her against the worst of pirates without hesitation.

But the blonde also knew what she wanted for the future. To be a renowned doctor of course, but also to continue spending time together, just her and him. To come home after an exhausting surgery and meet this man for dinner. To sleep next to him on the worst winter nights. To rest with him in the gardens in silence. To enjoy a weekend off to drink cocktails on the beach and steal his pizza slices.

So, as usual, she let her instincts dictate her steps.

Murphy looked at the hand extended towards her with a bottle of water that she would surely have appreciated after this tough training. But the blonde grabbed Sakazuki's wrist, who didn't have time to react. She pulled on his wrist to make him lose his balance and quickly got up to put her lips against his.

Time stopped for good. Faced with the man's lack of reaction, she deepened the kiss and ran her hand around his neck. While she was starting to worry about the lack of reaction, Muprhy felt Sakazuki's powerful arms wrap around her waist to bring their two bodies closer together. He finally responded to her kiss as a thin smile appeared on the woman's lips.
