Marine Academy
Part 3
Chapter 18
The waiter delicately placed a bowl of beef ramen and cheese-coated skewers in front of the bride, who gave him an angry look and sighed.
The few guests present laughed discreetly. Sakazuki, sitting next to her at the table, took her hand delicately. She could see a thin smile on his lips.
He looked magnificent in his black suit and his vice-admiral coat with his medals proudly on his shoulders.
She, on the contrary, had abandoned her eternal white blouse to put a magnificent but discreet wedding dress.
"You better apologize for your proposal over a bowl of ramen on our wedding night, my dear husband..." The blonde whispered discreetly, her gaze mischievous.
The rest of the room also began to eat, leaving the married couple to enjoy each other's presence after the ceremony.
The wedding had been held in a very small temple on the doctor's home island. She had only invited her parents, Emma and Claire, and the Vice Admiral had only invited his closest friend and colleague, Vice Admiral Borsalino. The light vice admiral was eating all the shrimp that came his way under the disgusted gaze of Claire who still couldn't stand men.
The room was small but large enough to accommodate so few people. It was a centuries-old temple stuck in the middle of a dense forest, far from any port or village.
DING, DING, DING!
The room fell silent for a moment and looked at the Vice Admiral Borsalino who had stood up to make a speech, his lips covered in mayonnaise.
"Hello everyone!" Began the soldier dressed in yellow. "I would like to say, first of all, that I am very happy to be here and to be able to taste all these shrimp, thank you Sakazuki and Murphy for this feast."
The blonde felt her husband tense up and annoyance rise in him as his colleague spoke. She squeezed his arm delicately.
"What nonsense is he going to come out with again..." the man grumbled.
Borsalino continued.
"Sakazuki is by far the most boring, unfriendly and stubborn man I know..."
The vice admiral's fist slowly became covered in magma, his wife at his side quickly putting away the silverware to protect it.
"But I must admit that Murphy acts like a real sea stone on my friend. She's the only one who can stand up to him, even make him lose his mind..."
Murphy gave a loving look to her husband who couldn't stand being the center of attention and having his weaknesses exposed so openly.
"I'll cut it short because I think he's a little pissed off...hehe..."
A laugh went through the room as he saw the vice admiral refrain from turning into lava.
"As Sakazuki always tells me before leaving on a mission: watch over Murphy!"
Borsalino turned to the bride.
"Sakazuki, I swear to always watch over your wife, no matter what."
The man calmed down instantly, giving his friend a piercing look.
They understood each other with a glance and even if their relationship could be strange due to their respective characters, they knew that they could count on each other's presence and power no matter what.
Emma stood up in turn.
"Thank you all for coming! Murphy and Sakazuki, thank you so much for this ceremony, it was magnificent." The doctor began under Murphy's loving gaze.
"I met Murphy at the Academy years ago now. And I met Sakazuki during our first year of study. He had gone on a mission at sea for several weeks and Murphy kept talking to me about him, wondering what their future held for them."
The guests laughed again as the blonde turned red with embarrassment.
"And one afternoon, I was coming back from the library where I was studying and Murphy was in the operating room to validate her semester. I heard a knock on the door of our dorm and who did I see? The future vice-admiral, a bouquet in one hand and a bag in the other. When he realized it wasn't Murphy I burst out laughing, I took the bouquet for myself and slammed the door in his face. And it was when I saw Murphy come back up to our room two hours later, a bag full of food in her hands, that I understood that Sakazuki was the perfect man for her. Because she deserves to have a man who will wait for her for two hours under an umbrella to see her again. Sakazuki, I'm counting on you, take good care of our Murphy!" The women concluded.
Murphy's face was lit up, she had never heard of this story before.
[...]
"You owe me a bouquet, vice-admiral." The young woman whispered as she eagerly kissed the soldier's neck. They passed through the door of the room he had rented for their wedding night, a magnificent house on the beach.
Sakazuki held back a groan. He had been particularly embarrassed that Emma had told everyone that story where she had slammed the door in his face but had said nothing, knowing his wife's attachment to the doctor.
"And you're going to have to make up for the proposal over a bowl of ramen," she continued as she slid the jacket of his suit on the floor.
She was sitting on the edge of him, the vice-admiral towering over her. She delicately opened his white shirt, revealing his torso sculpted by combat and training.
"At your command." Sakazuki whispered as he slid his hand between the blonde's legs.
