Hello everyone, here is another One Shot!

This is set in modern time and and incident happens that had people worried and upset

Whitebeard was lying in bed asleep, when a sound woke him and he sat up to see Thatch having barged in. "Pops! I can reach Ace!" Whitebeard frowned, seeing the clock was 6am. "What do you mean? He went out and is probably either still out or asleep." Thatch shook his head and showed his phone. "N-no, there was a shooting at the bar! People are dead!" Whitebeard frowned and looked at the phone. Shooting at a local bar. 3 confirmed dead and 25 injured. And that was posted 3 hours ago. Ace was usually out until early morning. That wasn't good, he thought as he reached for his phone. "And you can't reach him?" Thatch shook his head and looked frantic. And he got it.

He then dialed Ace's number and it went to voicemail after some rings. He didn't like this. He moved to stand up. "How long have you tried?" Thatch shook his head and looked scared. "An hour. From when I read it. Got a call from someone who wanted to know if Ace was okay. It was his usual bar." He really didn't like this. "Let me make a call." He said as he took up his phone and dialed Shanks, who was a detective, he might know.

It was answered after a couple rings. "Shanks Akagami." He said and based on the background noise, he was at the scene. "It's Whitebeard. Ace is missing, this shooting was at his bar." It was silent for a second. "What! He was there?!" Whitebeard gave a breath. "I don't know. We can't reach him now." Shanks spoke fast. "Give me a sec." He said, before he spoke again. "I'm out of earshot now. He isn't among the dead. I don't know about the injured. Right now, 5 are critical, 3 severe, and the rest are stable for now. I can try and make some calls." Whitebeard nodded. "Okay, thanks. I'll update you if I get something." Whitebeard nodded. "Thank you." He then hung up and looked at Thatch. "Ace isn't with the ones who died, Shanks confirmed." Thatch let out a breath. "Thank God." That was good, but still, they still needed to get in touch with Ace. He might be one of the ones injured.

As he had hung up, he looked at Thatch. "He isn't with the dead, Shanks confirmed it." Thatch gave a breath. "Okay, good. Imma try calling him more." Whitebeard nodded. "Do that, and I'll try a few more people." That sounded to be the best.

He then spent an hour calling those he knew might know something, but none did. Then after an hour and half, his phone rang and he saw it was Ace and answered at once. "Hey, son. How are you? Are you okay?" He heard a breath. "Yeah, I left the bar half an hour before the shooting. I just read it. I'm okay." Whitebeard breathed out relieved. "Okay, good. Where are you?" Ace hummed. "I went home with Law, he came and we wanted to go to his place and drink. Cheaper you know. And I put my phone on silent." That sounded like Ace. "Okay, good. As long as you're safe." He heard a breath. "Yeah, I am." That was the most important.

"When are you coming home?" He asked, and Ace hummed. "Tomorrow. Law doesn't want to be alone after this. We were so close." That he got. "You can come to dinner here if you want." He heard a breath. "Law doesn't want to leave home, so we'll just stay inside." He got that. "Sure. I'll tell everyone you're safe." He heard another breath. "Yeah, thanks." Then they hung up and he went to Thatch, who had woken some more people, and they all looked at him. "I just spoke with Ace. He is okay, he's at Law's and is fine." Everyone breathed out relieved, glad Ace was fine.

Then things calmed down and the news was based around the shooting, which was understandable. When Ace came home the next day, he was hugged by many, everyone glad he wasn't hurt. He had barely left before it happened. But he was fine. Why people were so insane and killed was beyond him. But they had caught him, some heroic standbys had overrun him and held him down until the police came. But his family was fine, and that was all that mattered.
