Ace sat in the main area at the psych unit he was currently admitted to. He had had some real paranoid issues lately, and needed a break from home, as well as a medicine change. So, he was here. He had been here for 2 weeks now, and it was his second time, and it was going well. He felt better already.
As he was sitting on his phone, Ace looked up when a nurse came towards him, and Ace looked at the nurse when she started speaking to him. "Ace, we're headed for a trip out, a walk, do you want to join us?" Ace blinked. "Who's joining?" The nurse smiled. "I am joining, as well as 3 other patients." Ace nodded. "I would love to join. When are we going?" The nurse hummed. "In 10 minutes. 7 pm. Meet by the door?" Ace nodded. "Yeah, sure." Ace then went to his room and grabbed his jacket and went to wait in the main area, where he could see the door, so he was sure he made it.
Luffy then came and sat down beside him, having his jacket also. "Hey! Are you joining the trip?" Ace nodded. "I am. Are you?" Luffy nodded. "Yeah! I think Sabo is also joining, along with Zoro!" That sounded nice. He knew those the best here, the others were a bit… secluded. But he got it as well. Being admitted could be so scary. He then spoke with Luffy for a bit more, before the nurse came, as well as the other two, and they headed on their walk.
It was currently November, and it was really dark outside, and the snow hadn't come yet, but they had a flashlight, actually two as Luffy used his phone. They did it both to see, and to be seen as it was a small road and cars did come. They also had one reflective vest, and the nurse had that one on. Just to be really sure and the nurse said they needed to as it was rules for them as they didn't want accidents to happen, which he got. They then spoke as they walked, and as they were a bit longer down the road, Ace heard something that sounded like footsteps and looked behind them, and yes, there was a runner coming, barely hearing it over the others talking. There were a few houses here, as a few lived here. He looked at the others. "There is this guy running towards us." Luffy blinked. "Don't say that!" Ace blinked. "But… there is?" Zoro looked at him and looked a bit uncertain. "What do you mean?" As he had spoken, the guy came running past them and it was clear the others got a bit startled, save the nurse.
Ace looked at the others. "I meant him." Sabo had moved a hand to his chest. "Oh my God! Why did you say it like that!" Ace blinked. "What should I have said?" Zoro shook his head. "I don't know! Maybe that we should move so the runner had more space? Not just 'There is this guy running towards us'!" Ace blinked, before that made sense. Had he been the others, his mind would have made that seem so utterly terrifying. He didn't really know what the others were dealing with, but the way he said it could make it seem scary. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." The nurse hummed and looked at them. "I am sure Ace really didn't mean to scare anyone. But he is past us now." Zoro nodded. "Yeah, you're right. I just really thought someone was running to get us, or something." Ace got that, he would have thought the same if someone else had said that. He really felt bad now, but he hadn't meant to, and tried to come to peace with it, that it had been an honest mistake on his part, but he should have said it a bit differently.
When they did get back to the unit, he felt a bit better about it as they managed to joke about it, even though he had scared them, it was okay now.
And that's it! I really hope this turned out good
Also, yes, this really happened, I was Ace, I felt so bad as I terrified others with this, but it went okay, I just recently remembered this happened and wanted to write it out
