Hello everyone, here is another One Shot!

This is set in the Pirate Era and an accident happens. Set before Ace joins them. This is just a small idea

Ace got an axe from a room, before he did his best in being stealthy, going behind the captain's chair, before he charged, but no, the captain was quick and just swatted him away, but it felt like he used more force than last time.

So, Ace hit the railing hard, knocking the wind out of him, making him a bit dizzy, when he heard some cracking, before he suddenly fell backwards, which confused him, before he hit the ice cold water, and he felt all his powers leave him and things grew darker, the light fading as he sank to his death. This was it, he tried to redeem his father, and it cost him his life, he would die now. His eyes felt heavy and they closed as he embraced the fact he would die all alone in this sea.

He felt his consciousness fading, and just before he fell unconscious, he felt something grabbing him, but he didn't know what as he fell unconscious.

Whitebeard was annoyed when he felt Ace and heard him, attacking from behind. That was low, so when he hit him away, he used a bit more force than he meant to, and Ace hit the railing hard, and he felt a bit bad. But when he heard cracking and saw the railing giving out and Ace plummeted to the sea and he heard a splash, he felt dread fill him. He didn't mean for that to happen.

Before he could do anything, Marco yelled "Namur!" And the fishman was quickly over the railing and heading after Ace to save him. Thatch was quick in getting the ladder and throwing it over the railing so Namur had a way up when he got to the surface.

It took some seconds, which felt like hours, before he heard Namur coming to the surface and starting the climb, when he was about halfway Namur yelled. "He's not breathing!" That made his insides grow cold, before he was at the railing and put Ace on the deck, and Marco was the first one to react and moved a hand to his neck, before he started to do chest compressions which meant he had no pulse. This was really bad. Marco then ordered someone to give mouth to mouth, which was Izou and after he had, Marco started up again with compressions.

Whitebeard felt himself holding his breath as this unfolded. Had he just killed Ace? He hadn't meant to do that, he didn't mean for him to fall overboard. Everyone was looking at the scene in horror. After some minutes, nothing had changed, and the captain was sure he just killed Ace, nothing seemed to work. But as Izou gave mouth to mouth again, Ace's body reacted.

His chest moved a bit as he coughed up water, but he didn't wake up. He was still unconscious. Marco then waited a few seconds as that happened, before he moved a hand to the kid's throat and gave a breath. "He got a pulse, yoi." That was good and made everyone breathe out relieved, even himself. Ace was then carried to the infirmary by Jozu, and Marco gave a disapproving look to him, which he gave an apologetic look to, he really hadn't meant for this to happen.

Thatch then moved a hand to his chest. "Holy crap, thank God he's okay!" Whitebeard agreed, when Marco sighed. "Not to destroy the mood, but he had no pulse and wasn't breathing for minutes, he might not wake up, yoi." That made them all blink, and Curiel, who he knew had doctor experience, nodded as well as everyone looked at him.

Whitebeard felt bad with that, and if Ace never woke up, he would never forgive himself for this. He wanted to head to the infirmary to check on Ace, but he knew Bay would just throw him out, she liked to work in peace.

After an hour, he headed to the infirmary and headed inside, Marco with him. When they walked into the infirmary, Bay instantly gave a glare and moved her hands to her hips. "You are lucky I am not skinning you! He stopped breathing one more time. But lucky for you, he is stable now and seems fine. But not woken up yet. So I can't say for sure how he is. You're allowed to sit with him. When he wakes, call for me." Whitebeard nodded, he would do that.

He then sat down on a chair and waited for Ace to wake. Hopefully he would wake and be fine. It took some time, but after some hours, before he heard a startled breath being taken as Ace woke up, and he called for Bay, who was quick to come and started doing checks.

Ace did try and get out of it, but Bay gave a glare to Ace. "Listen here. If you do not cooperate, I will chain you to the bed in seastone chains until you do! You got me?!" Ace blinked, before he nodded and did as Bay said and did all her tests, and he did them well, and Bay nodded when done. "Good. You seem fine, which is good. Had us worried for a moment there." Ace blinked. "I… did?" Bay nodded. "You had no pulse and stopped breathing 2 times." Ace blinked, before he looked at his hands. "How… am I alive?" Whitebeard blinked. "I don't want you to die, Ace." Ace actually looked shocked with that, which made him feel a bit bad. Did Ace really think he would let him die? Just like that?

Ace blinked. "But I have literally tried to kill you for a couple months." Whitebeard hummed. "Something as trivial as that means nothing. I would never let someone I view as a child die. I care for all my children." Ace didn't correct him, as he had before, he just stared dumbfounded. As he did, and he was on his way to talk again, Bay came and threw them out, saying she wanted some peace, and Ace was to stay for some more hours. But Ace was fine, that was all that mattered.

When evening came, there was a knock on his door, and he said to come in, and he was not that surprised it was Ace. Maybe they could have a civil talk right now. He at least hoped so.
