Mahou Sensei Ichigo

Welcome all to the third chapter of this arc. Things have gotten interesting now, haven't they? Momo is now aware of the world of magic. In the previous chapter, it was shorter as I cut a lot of scenes from the manga. Canon wise, Asuna has been aware of magic, it was Makie who was attacked in Sakura Lane and it was Nodoka, not Momo, who was attacked when Negi came to the rescue. I cut the scene of where Asuna came due to worry, and finally, I changed the ending of the chapter. Canon, Eva stays behind to torment Negi, but here she retreats. And we will go from there. So do please enjoy this chapter!

They belong to the respective owners of Tite Kubo (Bleach), Ken Akamatsu (Negima) and any other characters belong to their respective owners, nor do I own any of the songs that are in this chapter. Chapter 20: The Dark Evangel

"Fufu~~ it's the beginning of the term, after all, so let us exchange formal greetings, Sensei…" Evangeline smirked more as she gazed at Negi. "Or should I say, Negi Springfield, son of the Thousand Master, Nagi Springfield!" Evangeline would then notice that she had a small cut on her right index finger. With an amused expression, she licks her own blood whilst she flew away.

"Fufu~ to have such power despite being only 10… just as one would expect from that man's son…"

"Wait! WAIT!"

Negi's desperate calls fell on death ears as she disappeared from sight. It was only then Negi had remembered that there was someone else with him. Looking at Momo, his eyes were reduced to pinpricks as was gazing at him with shock and wonder.

"Oh dear…" Negi could only gulp as he stares at Momo with wide eyes, who in return was looking at him in shock.

Shaking his head, Negi mounted his staff and took off after Evangeline, making Momo cry out.

"Negi-sensei! Wait!"

After a few minutes, Negi was able to catch up with Evangeline, making her rise an eyebrow in amusement as she flew through the air. Smirking, she held various vials in her hands and broke them.

"Sagitta Magika Series Obscuri!"

Several arrows of dark arrows flew towards Negi, making him gasp in shock. Using his hands to lift up his staff, he flew upwards where he proceeded to dodge and fly through the arrows of darkness, twirling and spinning around to avoid being hit as they flew towards him like seeking missiles.

"Hoh… he's very good at dodging." Evangeline mused, slightly impressed at what she saw as she continued to glide between buildings.

After weaving and dodging from the many arrows, Negi's eyes narrowed in concentration.

"Undetriginta Spiritus Lucis! Sagitta Magika Series Lucis!" Negi cried out, allowing magical arrows of light appear around him, before firing them into the many arrows of darkness.

Evangeline only clicked her tongue in annoyance as she saw her spells being cancelled out by Negi's own.

"Evangeline-san!" Negi cried out as he continued to chase after her. "Just who are you!? If you're a Mage just like me, then why are you doing this!?"

"Negi-sensei." Evangeline smirked as she drew more vials, her voice mocking. "There are good Mages in the world, and there are bad ones… Sagitta Magika Series Glacialis!"

With that, several spears and arrows of ice flew towards Negi at speeds faster than he could chant.

"DEFLEXIO!" A barrier appeared before Negi, Evangeline's ice spells colliding with it and blocking her vision with a thick mist.

Taking this chance, Evangeline continues to weave through the buildings. And she could sense that Negi was catching up with her as she was forced to weave between arrows of magical light.

"He's fast, especially forcing me to dodge his attacks." She continued to muse, leaping onto the roof of a nearby building. "So it would seem his speciality is both Wind and Light magic. Interesting~"

'Something's not right here…' Negi thought as he continued to chase her throughout Mahora. 'She's no ordinary Mage as she can fly without a staff or broom. I can tell she is a strong Mage, but her spells are weak. She even uses catalyst potions; something doesn't add up here!'

"Evangeline-san! Explain yourself! Why are you doing this!?"

Evangeline smirks as she gazes at him.

"I can tell that you are searching for that man, right Sensei? If you catch me, I'll tell you what I know~"

Momo was panting as she was chasing after the two Mages, having used a Gikongan to even have a chance of catching up. She had ordered the soul pill to use the bathhouse and act normal until she returned. And as she continued to use Shunpo, her mind was racing with what she had witnessed.

"Negi-sensei… just who and what are you…?"

Ichigo was frowning as he was watching out the window, sensing the strange influxes of power going out. He could tell that there was three sources going at high speeds, but he only recognised the one as Momo. Something was happening out there, but he was putting his trust in Momo to solve this mystery.

Evangeline was laughing as multiple clones of Negi was chasing after her, weaving through them whilst using her vial catalysts to fire ice magic to negate most of Negi's clones. But she blinked in surprise when the real Negi appeared before her, his right palm extended towards her whilst his left held onto his staff.

"I've caught you now! It ends here, Evangeline-san! Flans Exarmatio!"

Evangeline could do nothing as Negi's magic tore through her dark cloak. Her cloak and hat did not disintegrate like most clothes; it came undone as dozens of bats flew away from her, leaving Evangeline in a see-through nightie. Both landed on a rooftop of one of the many buildings.

"It's my victory, Evangeline-san!" Negi panted a little as he covered his eyes partially with his hand so as to keep his gaze on Evangeline's face. "Tell me why you're doing this, as you promised…. And about my father…"

"Hehe… your father… or should I say, the "Thousand Master"…" Evangeline started, making Negi's eyes narrow in determination. "Why should I say anything, Boya~?"

Negi's frustration had him distracted, as he did not notice the figure appear above Evangeline.

"This victory is mine, Evangeline-san!" Negi cried out, holding his staff tighter as he points at her. "Without your mantle, without your catalysts, your magic is gone!"

"Hoh~? So you think you've won?" Evangeline smirked as she placed her hands on her hips. As she did this, the figure landed behind Evangeline in a menacing manner. "Well then, Boya, why don't you try using your magic right now and defeat me?"

Frowning, Negi took a stance. 'So she had an accomplice…? Well there's no helping it! I'll have to stop them both!' "Undecim Spiritus Aeriales! Vincula Facti Inimicum Captent! SAGI- OW!"

Negi never had the chance as the figure closed the distance and flicked him in the forehead, making him stop casting prematurely as he rubbed his forehead. When Negi looked, his expression of shock made him step back. Seeing this, Evangeline grew more smug.

"Let me formally introduce you to my "Partner", Boya~" Evangeline gestured to the green-haired girl next to her. "This is 3-A Seat #10, Karakuri Chachamaru!"

"Technically, we're only Partners in name, Master." Chachamaru responded, her voice void of emotion. "As we have never entered the Pactio contract."

This caused Evangeline's eyebrow to twitch. But she smirked at Negi who was forced to take a step back.

"Regardless, us Magister Magi are vulnerable when casting magic, hence why we need Partners to assist us. And seeing as you have no Partner, you can't cast any magic without being interrupted." Evangeline's smirk turned sinister as her eyes had an evil red glow in them. "So I'll ask you again, Negi Springfield; Do you think you have won?"

Just before Evangeline or Chachamaru could do anything, they were all distracted by another voice.

"Stop right there! Hado #33! Sokatsui!"

Blue flames crashed near Evangeline and Chachamaru, forcing them both to jump back as Momo appeared next to Negi. This made Evangeline become more cautious as she didn't recognize the spell Momo used. She also took notice that Momo was no longer wearing the Mahora Academy uniform, but a black shihakusho with a wooden plaque attached to her left arm with some insignia on it, as well as the sword that was in her sash.

"Hoh~? Hinamori Momo, you're certainly full of surprises." Evangeline finally spoke.

"I can say the same with you, Eva-san. And to see Karakuri-san also involved? Well it's only sense that I join Negi-sensei and even the odds!" With that said, Momo drew her Zanpakuto out of her sheath and held it before her.

"There's no need for that, Hinamori-san. I know when I'm bested. And I don't know what you are truly capable of." Evangeline sighed as she took a passive stance.

Seeing this, Chachamaru also lowered her guard and held her hands in front of her, akin to a maid. Momo didn't lower her guard, and neither did Negi. Rolling her eyes, Evangeline stepped off the roof.

"Come, Chachamaru, we're leaving!"

Chachamaru nodded, but she looked at Momo and Negi and gave them both a polite bow.

"Sorry for the inconvenience, Hinamori-san, Negi-sensei."

And with that, Chachamaru left to follow Evangeline. A few minutes later, Momo relaxed as she could tell that they were gone. Sheathing her blade, she turned to see Negi collapsed on the roof panting deeply.

"Negi-sensei!? Are you ok?" Momo rushed towards him, looking at him in concern.

"I'm fine, Hinamori-san…" Negi answered with a bit of effort. "It's just I haven't used this much magic in a while, so my body is slowly getting used to it."

Nodding, Momo knelt before Negi, a serious expression on her face.

"We have a lot to talk about, Sensei."

Ichigo sighed in relief, his gaze leaving the window. He blinked as he noticed that Mana and Zazie seemed relieved as well, whilst Poyo had a satisfied smile.

"Fumu… seems like the Son of the Thousand Master had help in pushing back the Dark Evangel. I'm curious to who helped him though…"

"Master, what do you think of Hinamori-san's interference could mean?" Chachamaru asked. Whilst her tone was void of emotion, there was no denying that she was curious.

"I can't say. And we don't know if her cousin will interfere. We'll have to see who she really is. Who Kurosaki Ichigo is…" Evangeline answered, gently biting the thumb of her right hand as she sat on Chachamaru's arm as the gynoid carried her towards the outskits where the forest was. "Tonight has indeed been full of surprises. And unknown and unforeseen interferences… Chachamaru, did you hear what Hinamori Momo chanted before she arrived?"

"Yes, Master. Hado number 33. She called it Sokatsui. That translates to "Blue Fire, Crash Down"."

"Interesting. That's definitely Japanese, so it must be some Eastern Spell. And judging by her using a sword, she's an Eastern Magic Swordsman. We best be on guard, Chachamaru…"

"Yes, Master."

"Regardless of all this, it changes nothing. So long as the gaki doesn't find a Partner, we still have a chance. You'd best be prepared, Sensei~ "

Interesting, if I do say so myself. No Asuna or well-timed and aimed kicks to the face in this chapter. In fact, I decided last minute to cut Asuna from this chapter. It is Momo who came, and with her Kido. With this encounter, both Negi and Momo's worlds have collided, and where will this lead to? Only one way to find out, my dear readers. But do not worry, Asuna will be involved in this arc, it's only time to tell when. Now, to the reviews!

mattmeisterds1: It is indeed good to be back

Although this was a short chapter, there was plenty of action. My first proper chapter that is filled with action. And it was fun writing it all down, especially when you're listening to music that sounds like it can fit in an action sequence like this I wrote. The next few chapters, however, will have little to no action and will focus more on comedy and story building. In fact, our next major action will be the last few chapters. The next update will be my A Different Path of Fate, so I'll see you all there.
