Magic Of The Golden Flower 2 Chapter 7
Briefly scanning the feral human herd in front of him, Sylva raises an arm and releases a deafening roar. In this he orders the soldiers under his command to charge.
As soon as the Masks do so, the feral herd scatters aimlessly in all directions looking for any escape route open to them. But the Masks were already prepared for this. They'd already been spread out before the raid even began.
Each of the Masks popped out of different hiding places, scaring the ferals badly and herding them in directions that they wanted the humans to go.
Those stationed in the riverbed were using nets to entrap and keep the ferals in one place. But a number of them manage to climb over the embankment and make a break for safety deeper into the forest.
The chase was on.
The Masks are ruthless. They don't intend to let any of these potential targets get away. But they already have a pretty good idea of who they're looking for amongst this herd. Because of this, the Masks are focusing only on the females and not the males.
Raka, Aurora, and Shadow bear witness to all of this.
For one of the very first times since she's known Raka, Aurora can see outward signs of uncharacteristic extreme anger radiating off of the normally gentle orangutan. Raka had nothing but compassion for the feral humans and seeing them treated like this is enraging for him.
Aurora has another focus as she keeps her cover with Shadow, remaining hidden and making sure Shadow doesn't barge into the fray. Aurora had to seriously rush to get all her hair out of the way in time. Thanks to Raka's assistance they somehow managed it. In regards to Shadow, she doesn't doubt that Shadow would do everything he could to fight the Masks without the vaguest regard for his own life. The problem with that is the Masks would have no qualms about killing the loyal dog the moment he got in their way. No way that Aurora is letting that go down.
The other thing that holds Aurora's attention is the scavenger. The second the Masks had revealed themselves, the scavenger had taken off. Mixing in with the feral herd to stay hidden. Unfortunately, for the poor thing that won't last for long.
The Masks are hot on the scavenger's tail.
They're scouring the herd all over the place.
The scavenger is doing everything she can to evade them, but it's only a matter of time before she's caught in their clutches.
Yeah, not gonna happen.
Just because Aurora is suspicious of the scavengers' intentions, and the kid has yet to garner the older woman's trust, around them in the first place doesn't mean that she's just going to let these scumbags take her.
Despite that, Aurora's not about to allow this barbarism to continue without a fight.
Neither is Raka.
While Aurora already has a weapon with her hair, Raka requires one of his own. Yanking a large root branch from the dirt, Raka joins Aurora and Shadow in retrieving the horses. Careful to keep their heads down so as not to be spotted.
Now riding, Aurora and Raka reach a meadow where Noa and the scavenger are fleeing Masks pursuing them. The scavenger is riding double behind Noa on his own horse with the Masks swiftly catching up.
"Noa," yelled Raka, intercepting one of the two pursuing Masks, knocking the individual from his horse with the branch and killing him instantly.
Aurora takes out the end one easily with her hair once Shadow startles the horse it's riding with his barking and nips. She wraps her hair around the Mask's neck and forcibly dislodges him from the mount.
Hooting, raising an arm in saluted appreciation of the timely save to them, Noa said "Raka! Aurora!"
Laughing deeply at the victory, Raka said "Caesar will forgive."
Raka refers to the fact that Caesar wouldn't want apes to kill each other. But in this case, Aurora agrees with Raka. She doesn't think Caesar would've disapproved of it this one time.
"Shall we continue," ventured Raka.
Nodding, Aurora said, "I do believe we shall."
Shadow barks his agreement.
The small group quickly took off on their horses, leaving the enemy behind to watch them go in the dust.
Up above high in the sky, Sun Eagle follows along riding the wind currents.
While the proud eagle has yet to find the young chimp worthy of his loyalty he will still keep an eye on him in order to properly gather who he will become and be ready for the moment he is.

Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.
So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.
I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
