Azura had really done it now. She was currently pacing around her bedroom trying to comprehend everything that is going on. She was on a scroll call with Hecate to confide with her.
"Now, I can't go to sleep without worrying about another attack from The Province or The Spook or The Bane. And now, I've forgotten about Manny's birthday!" Azura groaned. "Oh, Titan help me."
"I don't think your uncle can hear you." Hecate remarked.
"I was actually referring to my Palisman." Azura stated as she showed Hecate her still inanimate Palisman. "He wants to go by Titan. I told you that insane museum story, right?"
"I think so. Was it about the same time you lost the tablet?"
Azura groaned. "Don't remind me."
"Well, I haven't known your brother for long, what do you have in mind?"
"He's really into this British Sci-Fi show called Doctor What." Azura replied. "I would have found some merchandise but…Uh..I haven't had the time. It's only a day away! He's probably gonna have the worse birthday ever. It'll probably be worse than his fourth."
"What happened on his fourth?"
"There was a bad fire flu outbreak and Moms got infected." Azura explained. "And, I had to do everything. I gave him his presents, tried playing party games and I even went out of my way to try and bake a cake. It did not go well."
"Well, that sucks."
"Well, the cake did. And I'm sure Manny hated it as well. After we were done, I saw tears fall from his eyes." Azura said. "My Moms tried cheering him up by taking him to the movies and the arcade but…I could still feel the disappointment."
"How are you going to make it up to him?"
Azura began pondering what to do. "He always had a fascination with The Human Realm. Perhaps…A day around The Human Realm!"
"Yeah, but doing what?"
"I'll figure it out." Azura said. "Perhaps roller skating. I don't know, he can barely do the ones we have here. Eh, maybe he won't suffer a broken pelvis like last time."
Later that night, Luz and Amity were getting in their bed. While Luz was making preparations on Manny's birthday by making some notes on a notepad, Amity was on a call with Harriet.
"I hope Rentley gets better soon despite his, changed circumstances…How is Boscha doing?…She hasn't left his side?…Well, give her my best and I will get something to help with his leg." Amity hung up on the call and got in bed with her wife.
"So, while Azura is giving Manny a Human Realm adventure, I say we take the time to plan a surprise party." Luz said. "I can't believe Manny is turning eleven. Sooner or later, he will be in his teen years before we know it."
Amity gave a weak smile. "I know. It's insane. Hey Luz, are you okay?"
"Why wouldn't I be?" Luz asked with a huge smile. "It is Manny's birthday after all."
However, her wife felt that her Batata was not telling her the whole story. "Luz, are you sure everything is okay? These last few weeks have been rough on the both of us."
"I know." Luz said. "But I'd like to focus on Manny right now."
"I'm not saying you shouldn't." Amity said.
"And I'm not saying you think I shouldn't." Luz retorted.
"Luz, we have been married for fifteen years…" Amity took her wife's hand in her own. "…I know when you are scared of something. Is everything okay?"
Luz just gave her wife a stare with a positive smile and kissed her forehead. "Of course it is. I know for a fact that everything will be fine. Goodnight."
Luz instantly began to lie down and drift off to dreamland while Amity just watched her sleeping wife with a saddened look. She knows her wife, she knows she isn't probably handling this well. But, she did not want to make things worse for her.
In his bedroom, Manny was sleeping peacefully in his bed when all of a sudden, he felt an extra weight on top of his bed. He opened his eyes and saw his sister staring at him as he slept.
"Good morning, birthday boy." Azura said.
Manny, instead of attacking, just stared at his sister in disbelief. "Azura, were you watching me sleep?"
"No." Azura said. "I was trying to wake you up without alarming you."
"In these circumstances I would be alarmed, but since you are my sister, it is different." Manny said.
"Now, let's get going!" Azura declared. "There is so much I have planned for today."
"Alright, let me get…" He looked under his bed and saw that he was dressed in his Doctor What shirt, a pair of green pants and some shoes. "…Did you dress me while I slept?"
"No…." Azura replied. "I had Neil do it."
"Neil?"
All of a sudden, Neil walked in his room, with two bars soap taped to his eyes. "I have seen things that I would like to forget. Is this the exit?"
"No! This is Manny's room." Azura replied.
"Oh, right." Neil turned around to try and find the exit.
"Anyway, eat up Manny, because you and I are spending the day in the Human Realm." Azura declared.
Manny looked surprised. "Really? Doing what?" He instantly became excited. "Movie Theater? Library? I wanna try roller skating as well. Wait, will I get a broken pelvis again?"
"Let's hope not." Azura said as she stroked her brother's head. "Now, I also made some breakfast that I realised I left Neil in charge of!" She panicked and ran down the stairs.
When she got downstairs, the kitchen was thankfully not on fire, but Neil did plate up the breakfast. The toast was either buttered or unbuttered, the bacon was on the floor, the pancake tower collapsed and the waffles appeared to have been eaten.
Azura groaned while Manny tried to eat was of his birthday breakfast. Mainly the collapsed pancake tower. She grumbled in annoyance over her weird classmate. "If Neil isn't out by the time I get back, I'm gonna be mad. Get your shoes on, bro."
"I haven't finished this breakfast yet." Manny said.
"But…It's a mess." Azura pointed out.
"Least it's still edible." Manny retorted.
"Well hurry up, we're about to start the first part of our Human Realm adventure." Azura declared.
"It's four in the morning." Manny pointed out. "What could be so exciting?"
"You'll see little bro." Azura replied as she took her brother's arm and yanked him up. "Come on."
Once Azura and Manny left for The Human Realm, the door to Luz and Amity's opened up. "I hope this is the exit." Neil said.
"What the heck, Neil?!" Amity exclaimed.
In the Human Realm, Azura and Manny were sitting on the roof of the historical society watching the sunrise together.
"Does it get any better, brother?" Azura asked. "Sitting on the roof watching the human sunrise."
Manny watched the sunrise with a smile on his face and a glisten in his eyes. "It's really nice. But this seems like a strange birthday gift. What are you planning, Azura?"
Azura gave a mischievous smile. "You'll see, bro. I have stuff planned."
While Manny watched the sunset, Azura was deep in thought. "Oh boy. Just gotta keep this up. This is a birthday present for Manny. What if he catches on? He can't catch on. He mustn't. Oh Azura, you are the worse sister. This is gonna be worse than his fourth birthday. Hey, at least you got a birthday for him. No, it should be a gift! Oh Titan, I didn't get a card for him…."
"Though, I do wish we could have gone to a much higher building." Manny said.
"Well, you know this is the one place we can go on the roof to without the owner complaining." Azura said.
"That's because our Auncle Masha runs the society." Manny pointed out.
"Isn't nepotism wonderful sometimes?" Azura retorted.
"You know, I could make an Abomination tower to make us see the sun better." Manny said.
"Someone could see us." Azura pointed out.
"It's four in the morning." Manny pointed out. "Who is up at that time?"
Manny made an Abomination pillar and stood on it. Azura was about to argue but eventually joined her brother and stood beside him as he raised the pillar.
However, while he raised the pillar, he and her were unknowingly being watched by a camera from across the street, attached on the roof of a pet. And it wasn't a CCTV camera that was watching them, but a camera that looked like had been placed there.
Back in the Demon Realm, after getting Neil home, Luz and Amity were preparing the birthday presents, the birthday banners, Doctor What decorations for when their son returned from his day out.
Stringbean was currently eating up the food that had ended up on the floor, even all the crumbs so the place would be spotless.
"Is Neil one of Azura's friends?" Amity asked.
"I'm not sure." Luz replied. "But….He seems decent. A little unorthodox but decent."
"Batata, he had bars of soap in his eyes." Amity pointed out.
Then, they heard the sounds of knocking coming from the door. Ghost answered it to reveal sight that terrified them. It was O'Bailey, whom was snarling his teeth at her, causing her to launch up and attach herself to the ceiling.
The dog ran inside while Hunter tried holding him by his leash. "O'Bailey! Calm! Heal!" He yanked it hard, causing him to stop. "We have been through this!"
Soon, Willow, Evelyn, Gus, Mildred and Alistair followed the Grimwalker and his dog inside the house. Some of them holding presents for Manny in their hands.
"Hey Luz." Willow said.
Luz smiled. "Guys, you made it!"
"Well, we wouldn't miss Manny's birthday for the Titan's birthday." Gus said. "Mildred even wanted to come."
"When there's a surprise party, there is food." Mildred retorted.
"Where's Manny?!" Alistair asked. "I think he'll like my gift."
Luz got down to eye level with Alistair. "And what did you get Manny?"
Alistair handed the present to Luz. "Neptune fly trap. I thought he'd like it."
"Is it even breathing?" Luz asked with concern.
"I added air holes!" Alistair replied. "I think I did anyway. Well, I hope he likes dead plants."
As Evelyn sat on the couch, Amity offered her a can of soda that she accepted. "Thanks, Mrs Noceda."
"You're welcome, Evelyn."
Amity then noticed that Evelyn looked worried. It had been four days since the terror attack on Alleviate so she could be still shook up about it.
"You alright Evelyn?" Amity asked. "You don't have to talk about it if you want."
Evelyn sighed. "I'm still feeling shook up. It almost feels like yesterday. Rentley was hurt."
"But you did save him." Amity pointed out. "He would have been hurt worse if it weren't for your quick thinking."
Then, Evelyn's Palisman, Anthony jumped out of her satchel and began nuzzling her owner's waist to comfort her.
"Still wouldn't have ended up in the healing hut." Evelyn said.
"I was just on a call with Harriet last night." Evelyn looked at Amity with a hopeful expression on her face. "He is unconscious right now but they say he is stabilising."
Evelyn gave a grateful smile. "Wish I could visit him."
"I might try and encourage Boscha." Amity stated.
"How about you?" Evelyn asked. "Are you okay?"
"I'm trying to get by." Amity looked to her wife. "But Luz, I'm not sure. I feel she is mostly compensating. Trying to seem like she's okay. I know deep down, she is close to letting it all out."
She watched Luz trying to carefully carry Alistair's present with the other gifts. "There we go."
"So, where has Manny gone?" Willow asked.
"Oh, Azura's gone to The Human Realm with him to spend the day together." Luz replied.
"Are they going to the zoo?" Gus asked. "You have warned him about giraffes, right?"
"I don't know what you guys have against them, but giraffes are not as demonic like you think they are." Luz stated.
"THEY ARE!" Amity exclaimed.
Back in The Human Realm, Manny and Azura were walking around Gravesfield together. They had been walking together for quite a bit while they awaited for more establishments opened up in Connecticut.
"I know I should have gotten you up later, but we would have missed the sunrise." Azura said.
"Hey, it's still nice for you to do." Manny remarked. "What do you plan to do?"
"Well, I got a special screening of the Doctor What Movie at the Gravesfield theatre." Azura smiled.
"What?! How?!" Manny exclaimed.
"While in The Human Realm, I came into contact with the daughter of Dipper Pines." Azura pulled out a phone from her pocket. "And I managed to get into contact with her and she managed to get in contact with her older sister. She works at the movie theatre. Now, she hates the supernatural so don't let her know we are part witches."
"Then, how do we explain the ear?" Manny asked.
"Stahl's Ear." Azura replied. "Rare condition among humans. Oh, and we can also visit Aunt Vee at the zoo. Then, we can try roller skating or ice skating."
"That's a lot of stuff, sis." Manny remarked. "Is everything okay?"
"Yeah. Might have to waste a ton of my human money for you. But I'm glad it's my awesome brother." She pulled her brother in for a hug.
"Siiiiissssss!" He playfully whined. "You really don't have to waste the money on me."
"You're right." Azura said. "I only want to."
A few minutes later, the siblings arrived at the theatre where they saw a young woman with blonde hair standing by the door.
"You Azura?" The woman asked.
"Yup." Azura replied.
"I thought so." Amelia said. "If my sister didn't tell me you had Stahl's ear, I would have assumed you were an elf."
"Not a witch?" Manny asked.
Amelia froze. "Wait, witches have elf ears?"
"Some of them d-"
Azura quickly covered her brother's mouth. "Some of them might have. But as far as I'm aware of, witches are not real. Unless you count Wiccans."
Amelia got down on her knees to face Manny. "You excited to see Doctor What on the big screen?" She asked like he was a child.
Manny looked uncomfortable by the way she asked the question. "Yeaaahh…Why did you ask the question as if I were a lost child?"
Azura cringed. "Hey, Manny why don't you get some popcorn for us while I talk to this lady?" While her brother took his money to grab some snacks for him and his sister, Azura pulled the woman aside to talk to her.
"Listen, Amelia, you might not know this, but Manny just found out about his autism and he is still kind of sensitive about it. So, if you could talk to him like he were a regular person that would help."
Amelia froze with guilt. "Sorry. Alright folks, let's get ready for a thrilling adventure through time and space! With no previews!"
Once inside the theatre, Manny and Azura were thankfully the only two people inside which meant, no loud talkers, or popcorn munchers, just the two of them.
Soon, the reel began rolling and the feature length adaptation began to start. A feature length film directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
After the movie finished, Manny and Azura walked out of the theatre each with disappointed looks on their faces.
"I don't understand it." Azura said.
"Shyamalan tried to condense the entire first season into one movie and left out a ton of important plot points!" Manny exclaimed. "Also, Jared Leto as The Doctor?! What was that for casting?!"
"Terrible." Azura remarked, playing along with her brother's disappointment despite not understanding anything.
But she quickly became worried. "Oh no, he is becoming disappointed again. Oh man. It's okay, Azura. One bad movie does not mean Manny is having a bad birthday. Right?"
Back in the Demon Realm, Mildred was helping everyone preparing party snacks for everyone and taking nibbles of a few. While pouring some hex mix, she took a handful and put them in her mouth.
Evelyn, whom was preparing a plastic tray of fruit, nudged her friend in the side. "Mildred!"
"Hey! They're gonna take forever, so might as well start snacking." She grabbed a nacho and dipped it in some salsa.
Evelyn grumbled. "If you double dip."
"I wont." Mildred assured her. "But Rupert might."
"Who's Rupert?" Evelyn asked.
All of a sudden, a sloth appeared next to the nacho bowl, startling the Palisman carver's daughter. "That's Rupert. My Palisman."
Evelyn looked surprised. "When did you get a Palisman?"
"You never asked." Mildred retorted.
The sloth Palisman reached for a nacho and began to slowly dip it in the salsa with his slow sloth arms.
At the door, Alador, Edric, Viney, Emira and Darius had arrived for Manny's birthday each with their own respective presents in their hands.
"I hope we are not late." Alador said.
"No Dad, you're just on time." Amity said. "Azura and Manny have gone to spend the day in The Human Realm."
Luz approached her in-laws and smiled. "Hey Blights, things going well at Blight tech?"
"I just had to hide the debrander somewhere I can't find it." Alador explained.
"Since The Province rebuilt the branding glove-"
"Coming Hunter!" Luz interjected. "Sorry, Hunter needs help in the dining room." The human witch departed from the room with a worried Stringbean following her from behind.
Darius was briefly surprised by Luz's interjection but quickly got back into the conversation. "As I was saying…Alador knew that the Province would be after the debrander after rebuilding the branding glove so, he and a few others hid it somewhere."
"We thankfully don't remember where." Alador said.
"It was a dangerous procedure to burn his memory." Viney explained. "Anything could have happened."
"Yeah, he could have forgotten about me and Viney being married." Emira stated.
Alador looked confused. "Wait, when did you two get married?"
Emira gasped along with Viney. "What?"
"Oh and Edric, when will you and Marshall tie the knot?" Alador asked.
Edric slumped his arms. "Sis, do you have ice scream in the freezer?"
"Yah, feel free." Amity said just before her brother walked into the kitchen to fetch himself the treat.
Then, Hunter walked down the stairs. "Edric okay?" He asked.
"Wait, hadn't Luz gone to help you?" Darius queried.
Hunter looked confused. "With what, exactly?"
"She said she had gone to help you with something." Alador said.
Amity then thought back to when Darius mentioned The Province during their conversation and Luz left to supposedly help Hunter. But now she saw, that Luz is probably trying her best to avoid any conversation that has Province involved.
Later, Azura and Manny had decided to go to a diner in order to get some lunch. Manny was having a bowl of tomato soup while Azura was having a cheeseburger.
"You know, it's your birthday, right?" Azura asked. "You can having something else."
"I know I'm gonna eat a lot of junk later on today, so tomato soup for now." Manny said.
Azura chuckled. "I see. Alright then. So sorry about that Doctor What movie sucking."
"It's not your fault." Manny said. "Unless you were the writer."
All of a sudden, a blonde haired teenager approached the two. "Anything I can get for you?"
"Just some lemonade." Manny replied.
"And Azura…" The teen offered the girl smoothie. "…Orange, mango, banana, plum and blueberry smoothie."
The girl seemed confused. "I didn't order a drink yet, Sanji."
"I know." Sanji replied. "I got a feeling you might have wanted this so I made it myself."
"Aren't you the waiter?" Azura asked.
"I am." Sanji replied. "But, I know what a customer wants."
"Dude, how many times do I have to say this? You're barking up the wrong tree." Manny said.
Sanji grinned. "Let the lady talk, little man."
"Just go and get my brother his lemonade." Azura demanded.
"On it, Azura." Sanji gave her a bow before walking off to get Manny his drink.
"Uh…That guy is a creep." Manny remarked.
"That's human males for ya." Azura said.
"Isn't that kind of racist to me?" Manny asked. "I mean, I am part human remember?"
"And you're also part witch so it doesn't count." Azura retorted.
"Well, he's probably named Sanji for a reason." Manny said. "Anything else you got planned for me?"
"Well, roller skating for one." Azura said. "Hope that goes well."
Manny smiled. "I'm sure I'll ace it."
When they arrived to the roller skating rink, Azura was succeeding at skating as she was performing a ton of twists, turns and spins whereas Manny was struggling.
He tried to skate, but he kept falling on his rear. So, he kept close to the safety wall and tried skating from there.
But he was worried about getting in people's way so he tried skating on his own. "You can do this, Noceda. You can do this." He began to try and skate on his own but accidentally bumped into a ginger haired girl with braces, knocking her to the floor.
Azura heard the commotion and turned around. "Manny?" She then noted that Manny was on the floor.
"Oh no! No! Manny has fell on the floor! You're ruining his birthday, again!"
The girl with braces began to panic. "Oh no!" She managed to stand up despite the fact she was wearing skates. "Are you okay?" She helped Manny up to his feet.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Manny replied as he held his rear.
But when the girl got a look at Manny's face, there was a bit of a blush on her cheeks. "Yeah….You are."
Then, Azura quickly skated towards Manny and grabbed his arm. They exited the rink together, unknowingly being watched by a hooded figure wearing a black hoodie and eating a slice of pizza.
"Should we try ice skating instead?" Azura asked.
"Isn't that just roller skating but with blades instead of wheels?" Manny asked.
"Not really." Azura assured her brother.
However, at the ice skating rink, the same thing happened, Manny tried skating on the ice but quickly fell on his rear again, causing Azura to cringe.
"Oh dear."
Back in The Demon Realm, King, dressed in a black robe and holding a present, was still getting used to flying with his new wings all while Reg and Greg followed from behind on their Palismen.
"Oh, I just hope my terrible flying skills aren't going to make me late." King said.
"King, you're not a terrible flyer." Greg said.
"Yeah, you're a learner." Reg assured him. "You're going to have a few rough landings. For example, when Greg was starting out, he accidentally crashed into a swamp and ended up in an ogre's ear."
Greg narrowed his eyes at his brother. "You said you wouldn't tell anyone!"
"You told me not to tell Ronda." Reg retorted, causing Greg to groan.
Back at the Noceda residence, Luz was busy blowing some balloons and tying them by the end so the air wouldn't blow out. At one point, she accidentally picked up Stringbean, inhaled through her mouth and tied her by the tail. Once realising her mistake, Luz quickly panicked and managed to free her Palisman.
"Sorry girl, I'm losing myself right now." Luz nervously chuckled.
Watching her wife from outside the room, Amity gave a saddened look, sensing that her wife was definitely not in the right head space right now.
Then, they heard the sound of the door opening. "Hey, old lady in need here!" The voice of Eda was heard.
Luz and Amity went to greet Eda, whom was entering the house with Camila, Raine and Lilith carrying Hooty following behind. The Owl Lady appeared to be holding a handful of presents while Raine was whistling to make sure that their wife did not drop any of the gifts they brought together.
"Did we get most of these correct?" Lilith pulled out a long scroll from her coat. "This list of merchandise is very long and extensive."
"You really didn't need to go that deep down the rabbit hole, Lilith." Camila said.
"I even traveled to England to see if I could get Joseph Witherby's autograph." Lilith said. "I did. And got the restraining order to prove it."
Camila became alarmed. "A restraining order?!"
"Yeah, I thought going to his house to ask for an autograph was overkill myself." Lilith stated.
When Luz and Amity arrived to greet them, Camila instantly squealed. "Mijas!"
"Mama!" Luz and Amity shared a hug with the woman.
"¿Dónde están mi nieto y mi nieta?"
Luz smiled. "Azura and Manny have gone to The Human Realm to spend the day together."
Camila seemed surprised. "I didn't see them. And Azura spending time with Manny? When was the last time they did that?"
"Not sure." Luz replied. "Maybe, his fourth birthday?"
"Wasn't that his worst birthday?" Camila asked.
"That's what Azura says." Amity replied. "By the way, where are Vee and Masha?"
"They're coming." Camila replied. "They're just going to be a little late. Work, ya know?"
"I envy your daughter." Raine remarked. "Hanging around with giraffes."
Camila stared at the bard with a raised brow. "I still don't get what your beef is with giraffes. They're adorable."
Evelyn looked horrified. "Why do you think they're adorable?!"
"Yeah, Camila! You and Luz are absolutely crazy!" Eda exclaimed.
Luz sighed. "Twenty six years later and I still don't get it."
Then, they heard the sound of the front door creaking and Rogue flew in. It made a cawing sound which was a signal for Ronda to enter.
She had still been avoiding Manny ever since the beast incident and heck, she had been avoiding everyone since she knew that they would probably treat her like a monster.
And upon seeing her, her suspicions were probably correct as everyone began to react to her presence with mixed reactions.
She could see Gus instantly placing his hand on Alistair's shoulder, Hunter having Waffles perched on his shoulder, Willow looking ready to start tackling in case she starts to change, O'Bailey was snarling at her, Amity with shaking fingers, Luz with a concerned look, Evelyn watching the moment with a worried expression, Darius summoning an Abomination rope, Alador reaching into his pocket, Edric nervously eating the ice scream, Emira narrowing her eyes at her, Viney cracking her knuckles, Camila sensing Ronda's worry, Lilith trying to encourage her niece with a thumbs up, Eda giving her daughter a warm smile, Raine doing the same thing as their wife while Mildred looked confused.
"Hey, Ronda, what's going on?" Mildred asked.
Evelyn stared at her friend with shock. "Are you kidding me? Don't you know anything?!"
"No." Mildred replied.
Evelyn sighed. "You are so unbelievable!"
Ronda slowly entered the house. "Hey….Uh….Everyone." She nervously waved at them. She just stood motionless, as she stared at everyone in fear.
Eda walked to her daughter and carefully used her hand to gently take her arm. "Don't worry, Ronda. I'm with you."
Luz approached her sort of sister with a smile. "Ronda, hi. I'm surprised you're here."
Ronda chuckled nervously. "Yeah, well, I came here to drop off this present for Manny. Is he here?"
"No, he went to The Human Realm with Azura." Luz said.
"Oh, good." Ronda said. "I was going to deliver this present and leave and-"
"That's what we think you should do." Darius interjected.
"Darius!" Eda chided.
"Stay out of this!" Raine demanded.
"Why should we?" Gus asked. "What if she snaps and attacks one of our kids?"
"Or take someone's eye out?" Edric asked.
"Or attack mine and Emira's unborn child?!" Viney asked.
"We're not pregnant, Viney." Emira retorted. "You just put on a little weight."
Viney gasped and touched her stomach. "I did?"
"Look Eda, we know the curse wasn't easy for you but you managed to control it, this is new to Ronda." Hunter said.
"How do we know she won't hurt anyone else?" Alador asked.
"She wouldn't!" Eda protested. "Not while I'm around anyway."
"Look, it was a bad idea." Ronda said. "Maybe I should leave."
"Good idea." Darius said.
"How about I get a drink?" Luz offered everyone. "Let's keep it cool, maybe there a few serious things we should be discussing. Like, who wants to put frosting on Manny's cake?"
"I ate it." Mildred stated.
"Mildred!" Gus chided his daughter.
"Awww! I was gonna eat it!" Hooty cried.
"I spent all day working on it!" Amity exclaimed.
"What about The Province should we be worried about them?" Raine asked, trying to change the topic of the conversation.
"Yeah, let's talk about those jerks instead of my daughter!" Eda suggested.
Ronda drank some elixir to calm herself down. "I felt feathers sprouting."
"You heard that?!" Edric exclaimed. "You heard that?! She has feathers sprouting."
"Everyone quit it!" Camila shouted.
"Can we just focus on Manny's birthday?" Luz asked.
Then, it happened, everyone burst into an argument which had everyone screaming or shouting over one another as they tried to make their thoughts about the Province or Ronda's presence being known.
"The Province vandalised my favourite sandwich shop!" Viney exclaimed.
"So, let's get Ronda out on the witchlets, great idea!" Darius shouted.
"This needs to stop!" Eda shouted.
The intense yelling from everyone was getting to Luz, she began to feel anxious and frustrated, she began to cover her ears and grit her teeth.
Amity was the first to notice that her wife was in distress and quickly ran to her aid. "Luz, do you need to get out?" Luz gave her a nod. "Okay, let's get far away." And so, Amity summoned Ghost and Stringbean to help her wife.
They exited the house through the back door while everyone was busy arguing. The arguing continued once the wives left.
"You're lucky my daughter wasn't there that night!" Willow shouted.
"Can I have more frosting?" Mildred asked.
"What did you say about my niece, Blight?!" Lilith exclaimed.
"Everyone is shouting!" Hooty screamed.
All of a sudden, the commotion was interrupted when King accidentally crashed through the ceiling and landed on the coffee table. "Ow!" Everyone stooped arguing to stare at King since h8s presence came out of nowhere. The Titan sat up and began to stare at everyone in confusion. "What did I miss?"
Back in the Human Realm, Azura and Manny had arrived at the Gravesfield zoo to visit the exhibits. "Alright Manny, so the zoo is big and we can spend as long as you want here."
"Okay." Manny responded. "I hope this goes better than the last few times."
"It's a zoo." Azura said. "The dangerous animals are protected by moats and protective barriers. What's the worse that could happen?"
"Someone could somehow sneak in." Manny replied.
Azura laughed. "Manny!"
However, behind Manny and his sister, a person with a black hoody was following them. They appeared to have been following them all day since watching the sunrise on top of the historical society.
Then, Sanji walked into the hooded figure, accidentally knocking their hood off to reveal Jacob Hopkins. He narrowed his eyes at the teenager, who appeared to be sucking on a lollipop.
"Hey watch where you're going!" Jacob shouted.
Sanji turned around and scoffed. "Crazy old man, Hopkins. Going after witches, still?"
"Yes! And they are right here at this zoo!" He pointed at the zoo but inadvertently pointed to Amelia, whom appeared to be there for a break. "No wait! No! You're not a witch!"
Amelia narrowed her eyes at the man before she entered the zoo. Sanji, upon seeing the woman, grinned. "Woah! I hope she's my age."
Jacob exhaled. "Those witches are our doom ya know!"
"Yeah! Yeah! And Frogvasion was real." Sanji retorted. "Actually, I believe that one. But only because I doubt you can fake blowing up the Hollywood sign." He entered the zoo, still sucking his lollipop.
"Yeah, keep sucking you loser." Jacob laughed. "You'll be grateful for when I save this world."
In the zoo, a montage between the brother and sister began. They first started off with the snakes and various other reptiles in the reptile house.
Manny was currently staring at the crocodile with an awe look on his face. While Azura was staring at an enclosure filled with snakes and admiring them.
Elsewhere, Hopkins watched from afar, unknowingly leaning his hand into the enclosure of an alligator snapping turtle. It snapped at his hand, causing him to scream in pain.
A nearby zookeeper, pointed to the sign that read 'Don't feed the animal.'
Next, the Noceda siblings were watching otters playing in their little pool. Azura pulled her phone from her pocket and showed her brother a picture, causing him to laugh. She had opened up a picture of her Mama and compared it with one of the otters.
Jacob meanwhile, watched on while eating a sandwich. But then, he accidentally bit his hand as he took the next bite.
Next, the Noceda siblings tried their hand at seeing the giraffes. They tried to inch closer towards them, fearing for their safety and what they might do to them if they do something wrong.
The giraffe just gave the Noceda siblings a deadpan stare and continued eating a stem from a nearby tree. Then, Manny accidentally sneezed, causing the giraffe alarm and to flash their mandibles at the two. The Noceda siblings screamed in horror before running away.
Jacob soon followed them behind and became confused. Then he took a glance at the giraffes and became even more confused.
"Those witches were frightened by a giraffe?" Jacob then came up with an idea. "Those witches were frightened by a giraffe."
Later, Azura and Manny were eating by the snack bar having some ice cream together. "I still don't get why Mama doesn't find them terrifying." Azura said.
"Yeah. I get why our ancestors banished them, they're freaky." Manny shivered.
Then, Vee walked past covered in what appeared to be some dirt. She used her safari helmet to pat the sands off of her uniform. "Man, those meerkats were feisty today." Then, she noticed her niece and nephew sitting on the bench and smiled.
She approached the two. "Guys? What are you doing here?"
"Hey Aunt Vee, how's the egg?" Azura asked.
"It's at home." Vee said. "Being a soon-to-be mother, I really wanted to stay with the egg. But Masha is taking care of it. Probably giving it a tarot card reading as we speak."
At the residence belonging to Vee and their spouse, Masha was sitting in front of their egg, which was resting under a red light for when it was ready to hatch. They placed a tarot card on the floor and grinned.
"Ah, this is an interesting one, this card says that once you are born you are going to be a creature so horrifying that the world will shun you, causing resentment to those who born neither human or basilisk, causing a rampage that will claim the lives of many in carnage filled with blood and mayhem." There was a pause till they leaned in and kissed the egg. "But, me and your Mom will still love you regardless."
Back at the zoo, the Nocedas were busy explaining to their aunt what they were doing here. "I'm taking Manny on a Human Realm adventure. And so far…It's going…"
"Great!" Manny interjected. "It's going great!" He gave a huge grin.
However, Azura thought the grin was condescending and she thought that he was saying that so he wouldn't hurt his big sister's feelings.
"Oh no. He is disappointed. Oh Titan, he must despise me right now."
"Hey listen, since you're my nephew how about we go and feed some tigers?" Vee asked. "We don't have any bookings for today so you're free."
"Yeah!" Manny cheered.
"Azura?" Vee asked. "Care to join him."
"You go right ahead, bro." Azura said. "It's your birthday."
Manny looked slightly disappointed. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah bro, I'm sure." Azura smiled. She felt guilty about how her brother's birthday had turned out that she blamed herself for it. "You, go and make sure they're okay and well fed."
Manny sighed. "Will do, sis. Will do."
Manny accompanied his aunt, who noticed how saddened her niece looked so after the tigers were fed, she would go and check on her.
At the lion exhibit, Sanji was talking to Amelia. "So, I do kickboxing from time-to-time. It's a hobby but I say I'm good at it."
Amelia narrowed her eyes at the boy. "Kid, I'm twenty-one."
Sanji took a few steps away from her. "Alright, I understand." Then, he flashed a smile when he saw Azura arrive, standing next to him to stare at the lions. "Hello, gorgeous."
"Sanji, give me a lollipop." Azura said.
Sanji reached into his pocket and pulled a lollipop for Azura to take. She removed the wrapper and began sucking on it.
Amelia noticed how down in the dumps Azura looked and gave a Sympathetic stare. "What's the matter with you? Isn't it your brother's birthday?"
"Oh yeah, that's what was going on." Sanji remarked.
"I forgot Manny's birthday…And.." She paused, trying to hide the fact she was a witch from The Demon Realm from the two humans. "…I didn't get him a present. He likes to spend time around Gravesfield and so far, it has been a disaster. That Doctor What movie was terrible…"
"Seriously, Jared Leto?" Sanji reacted in shock. "You couldn't have gotten anyone else?"
"Then, he fell during rollerskating and ice skating. I think he saw how bad things are and went to spend time with my Aunt Vee, she works here." Azura explained. "Just to feed some tigers."
Amelia gave her a sympathetic stare. "That sucks. But how could you forget his birthday?"
"A lot of personal stuff going through my life." Azura sighed. "I don't want to get into a lot of it. But…I'm unsure of my future, my brother being diagnosed with autism, my Mama survived getting stabbed, my Mom and brother briefly had a falling out and to top it off, my brother got attacked by….A very angry owl."
"Yup, owls get very defensive when they see you as a threat." Sanji remarked. "Just look at my moms."
"Aww that sucks, kid." Amelia remarked. "But, I'm sure your brother wouldn't care." She gave the half human an assuring smile.
Azura had a feeling that both her's and Amelia's statements could be correct. Her statement on her brother hating her could be true, but Amelia might be right in believing that Manny might forgive her.
Elsewhere, Jacob had arrived to the giraffe enclosure with a pair of bolt cutters in his hands. "Alright, be free and catch me my prey." He managed to unbolt the chain from the gate and opened it to free the giraffes. However, the giraffes just stood in place minding their own business.
"Be free!" Jacob cried. However, the giraffes just continued to eat their stems and leaves. "Hello! Yoo hoo! There are witches that need to be taken care of!" Somehow, upon the mention of witches, the giraffes left their enclosures.
Jacob laughed with glee. "Yes! Yes! Run my pretties, run!"
Elsewhere, Manny was putting on some safety boots on. "I can't believe these creatures were once considered endangered."
"Yeah, amazing what conservation can do." Vee said. "You sure you're enjoying your birthday with Azura so far?"
"Of course I am." Manny replied.
"I mean, sounds like you aren't in a way." Vee remarked.
Manny looked confused. "Why would you say that?"
"You know, it's just you fell twice today, that terrible Doctor What movie and your Mama told me that Azura forgot to get you a present." Vee explained.
"Wait, when did she tell you that?" Manny asked.
All of a sudden, Vee's walkie talkie began to go off. "Calling all staff, we got a code red. Two male giraffes have escaped enclosure. I repeat, get everyone to an evacuation zone."
Vee became alarmed. "Come on, sobrino. We gotta get you to safety."
She and Manny began to walk to an evacuation zone in order to be safe from the free giraffes. "What about Azura?"
"She's probably at the evac zone by now, we should probably be-"
"Vee, did you get that evac message?"
Vee answered her walkie talkie. "I did, Brandon, why?"
"Where are you now?"
"Departing the big cat exhibit, why?" Vee asked.
"I need you to check if all the locks are secure. Think you can do that?"
Vee was about to reject the idea, but then Manny gave her an assuring look. "Don't worry, Aunt Vee. I'll be fine."
Vee, though doubtful, decided to trust her nephew's judgement. She left him to his own devices so she could tend to the big cats.
Once he was so sure his aunt was safe, he began to make his way to the nearest evacuation zone walking in a calmly manner. Compared to everyone else, whom were panicking despite the speaker on the megaphone telling them to do the exact opposite.
However, before he could react, someone walked behind him and placed a napkin of chloroform on his mouth and nose, knocking him out.
Turns out, it was Jacob Hopkins who had done that horrific deed. "Sorry kid, but the world is in dire need of saving."
Due to the commotion of the evacuees, Jacob managed to slip out of the zoo and tossed him in a white van that he climbed into. Before he closed the door, he patted on the side which was the signal for the driver to drive off.
What he didn't notice, was that same girl whom was at the roller rink, the one that Manny accidentally knocked into, happened to be passing by on her bike when she saw him being kidnapped.
"Beth yw'r Heck?"
Inside the van, Jacob sat down with another hooded figure. This one, looking more slender. "Did anyone see you?" It asked with a more feminine voice.
"Hopefully the camera operator will be distracted by the giraffes." Jacob said.
"You released the giraffes?!" The woman removed her hood to reveal herself as none other than Cousin Amy. "Isn't that a risk?!"
"Don't you get it? Witches are scared of giraffes!" Jacob said. "They must be some kind of bad omen, almost like with Egyptians with cats. These witches and demons fear giraffes."
"Or maybe they're sworn enemies from the planet Jupiter." Amy theorised.
Manny eventually woke up and stared at the people in confusion. "Old man Hopkins, Cousin Amy? What is going on?!" He began to pant with fear, knowing what Hopkins was capable of.
"You! You're a witch!" Cousin Amy chided. "I know you are! I saw you on the cameras this morning on top
of the historical society!"
"And now, we are going to prove you are a witch!" Jacob did the first test, which was tossing a bottle of water in his face.
Manny stopped panting and just gave him a deadpan stare. "Even if I was a witch, that wouldn't work!"
"I'd say we dissect him." Cousin Amy sighed. "But unfortunately, he is my cousin and I wouldn't have it on my conscious to kill my family."
Jacob groaned. "Oh come on! I cleaned my scalpel this morning!"
"I just don't want my Dad to be mad at me, okay?!" Cousin Amy argued.
Back in The Demon Realm, Luz and Amity had arrived at a safe space for her to vent, it was none other than the Grom tree where they shared their dance and had their other wedding.
Amity landed Ghost safely on the ground so her wife could get off to sit down under the tree. Soon, Amity sat down next to her and reached out for her.
Luz looked to her wife and saw what she was doing. She gave a weak smile and nodded her head, giving her wife the go-ahead to place her hand on her shoulder.
"Luz, you were acting tense." Amity said. "I know it is Manny's birthday and you want this party to go well. But I feel you're focusing your mind on something, trying to distract yourself from what is really going on."
Luz hung her head down. "Don't you wish things went back the way they were?"
Amity raised her eyes. "What do you mean?"
"Before all this." Luz said. "Back when Azura was confident in her future, back when you and Manny didn't strain your relationship, back when Ronda wasn't scared of herself, back before The Province and back before I got a new scar to add to the collection." She lifted her shirt up to show Amity the scar she got on her stomach from The Spook.
"Are you…"
"Point is Amity, I'm scared!" Luz admitted. "Ever since that attack at Alleviate, I have just realised that our kids are growing up with a dangerous cult attacking us everyday! And Azura almost died, Amity! Our daughter, almost died! To top it off, I heard what happened to Rentley. Boscha called me the other night, telling me that the injuries on his leg were so severe, they had to amputate it. That could have happened to Azura!" Tears began to fall from Luz's eyes all while her wife sat, listening to every word she was saying. "I thought if I put focus on Manny's birthday things would be okay, but then everyone started to talk about The Province. Then, Ronda arrived, it wasn't her fault. But then, I became reminded of what she did to Manny when she became that beast. I know that wasn't her fault, but Manny has scars on his face now. Everything, is just…I don't know what's gonna happen, I'm scared. I'm scared." She began sobbing, causing Stringbean to hover towards her cheek to nuzzle her, Ghost to nuzzle her by the leg while Amity pulled her in for a hug.
"Let it out, Luz. Let it out." Amity said.
"I'm so scared Amity! I am so fu-" Stringbean hissed in her owner's ear to try and comfort her.
"It's okay, Luz." Amity gently swayed her back and forth to comfort her. She decided to talk to her. "Remember when I was pregnant with Azura?" Luz was silent for a moment but then made a muffled yeah noise. "I remember how you would spend most of those nine months, laying on m y belly, trying to feel a kick or hear her heartbeat. Even when I just started, you really couldn't help it."
Luz chuckled. "You were constantly worried about being fat when that bump showed up."
Amity playfully narrowed her eyes at her wife. "You were the same when you were pregnant with Manny."
Luz smiled. "Those were my hormones!"
"And so were mine." Amity and Luz shared a few laughs before stopping.
"Do you want to go back or stay here for a bit?" Amity asked after a bit of swaying.
Luz removed herself from her wife and placed her head gently on her lap. "Let's stay here for a while. Surely they'll have stopped arguing after a while."
Amity smiled. "Alright, we'll give it twenty minutes. Okay?" She began to stroke her wife's head, who only purred as a response.
Back in the Human Realm, Azura, Sanji and Amelia were stuck in the zoo restaurant, which also worked as an evacuation zone.
She was currently crammed with them and a bunch of people, worried about her brother. "Oh, I hope he made it out."
"You said he was with his aunt, he should be fine." Amelia pointed out.
"Yeah, as far as I'm aware of, giraffes are harmless." Sanji said.
"They're not!" Amelia argued. "They get very territorial."
Azura sighed with relief. "Good to know that someone like you sees how horrifying they are."
Amelia looked confused. "Uh….Okay, intense Kamilopardaliphobia I see."
"Attention everyone, the giraffes have been recovered and the zoo is safe. You can depart the evacuation zone and enjoy your day."
And so, they left the evacuation zone in order to enjoy the rest of their day. "So Amelia, tell me, do you have any sisters?" Sanji asked.
"Take a step near Gwen and see what happens." Amelia retorted.
All of a sudden, Vee ran up to Azura looking worried. "Azura, have you seen your brother?"
"Wasn't he with you?" Azura asked with worry.
"I sent him to an evacuation zone while I checked the other enclosures." Vee explained. "I checked all the others to see if he were in any of them and this was the last one."
Azura became alarmed while Amelia stared at her with empathy. "Was he-"
"Our animal control team informed us they appeared to have not caused any kind of injury." Vee said.
"You don't think he was kidnapped do you?" Azura asked.
"Okay, I think we are kind of overreaching." Amelia stated.
"Yeah. I think he just got lost." Sanji theorised.
"Yeah, he probably went to the bathroom again." Azura theorised. "He did that when he had an outbreak of bare lice."
Sanji raised a brow. "You mean hair lice?"
Azura realised her cover could be blown if she truthfully responded and instead just shrugged her shoulders. "Yeah, that."
All of a sudden, the ginger haired girl ran up to Vee. "Excuse me, Miss."
"Yes?" Vee asked the girl.
"But, I saw a boy, who has the same skin tone as that girl, get tossed in a van by some crazy old man." The girl said. "I don't know where he is taking him but you gotta hurry!"
Azura, Vee, Sanji and Amelia became alarmed by the statement. "Hold on, kid, what's your name?" Sanji asked.
"Emmy."
"Emmy, first: Do you have an older sister and two: Did the kidnapper where a black hoody in particular?" Sanji asked.
"Was your first question seriously all about her having a sister?" Amelia asked in disbelief.
"I'm an only child and yes, the kidnapper had a black hoody and looked crazy." Emmy explained.
In that instant, Azura, Vee and Sanji who knew this girl was talking about. "Old man Hopkins." They said simultaneously.
Amelia looked confused. "You know the guy?" Amelia asked.
"Yup." Azura said.
"Well, let's call the police on this pervert." Amelia suggested.
Sanji stopped her before she could start dialling. "That would be redundant." Sanji stated. "The police will just free him."
"Wait are you serious?!" Amelia exclaimed.
"Pretty much!" Azura replied. "Look, I don't have time to explain! I gotta rescue my brother!" Azura began running towards the exit.
"Azura wait, get in my car!" Vee said as she took the walkie talkie. "Brandon, I'm gonna need 25 minutes. We got a code Jacob."
"Alright. Should I get Guinevere to cover you?"
Vee exhaled. "Yeah, you should. She's like a knight in shining armour."
Once out of the zoo, Vee and Azura jumped into the car. But then, Sanji and Amelia jumped in the backseat, surprising the two.
"You two should go." Vee said. "This is family business."
"Hey, I always wanted a reason to beat the snot out of Hopkins." Sanji retorted.
"Yeah! You have to be a real monster to kidnap an autistic child!" Amelia exclaimed.
"Wait, Manny is autistic?" Sanji reacted in surprise. "Why didn't you tell me, Azura?"
"Because we don't hang out." Azura replied. "You just flirt with me every time I enter the diner. And by some account, I feel this is the first time we have met you."
Vee started her car and began her drive to Jacob's. "Okay, what kind of beef does this Hopkins guy have with you?" Amelia asked. "I'm assuming by how you said family business, this has happened more than once."
"Yeah." Vee said. "He thinks I'm a shape changing basilisk from another Realm and he thinks my niece and nephew are witches. Along with my sister-in-law."
Amelia looked stunned. "And are you a shape changing basilisk from another realm?"
There was an awkward pause as Vee tried to come up with a response due to how unexpected the question was. "No." She stated.
Amelia gave Vee a deadpan look before exhaling. "Oh good. For a second, I thought I'd have to move again."
Meanwhile, at the Hopkins house, Manny was tied to a chair in front of Jacob, Cousin Amy and a bunch of other robed figures. He appeared to be trapped in a dimly lit basement which looked messy and had a leaky faucet.
"Firstly, that faucet is leaking." Manny stated. "You should get a plumber."
One of the robed figures raised their hands. "I'm a plumber."
"Dale!" Jacob exclaimed. "Don't tell him your occupation! He might track you down!"
"Sorry, Jacob." Dale said. "I'm definitely not a plumber."
Jacob exhaled. "Oh for…So, witch, aren't you gonna perform some spells for us?!"
"No because I can't do magic." Manny said.
Amy leered at him. "Lies! Manny, you know lying is wrong! So, for the sake of your intelligent and your cousin who happens to be the best lawyer in the state of Michigan, tell me the truth."
"I am not a witch!" Manny knew he could use his magic to escape, but his cousin was there and he would be exposed for everyone to go after him and his home. "Please, I am not a witch!"
"Lies!" A robed person exclaimed. "I have seen a lot of movies with Jackie Chan! So, I know all of his fight moves!"
Manny gave a deadpan stare. "Can you perform them?"
"Well…."
"She can and she will if you dare question us!" Another robed person argued.
"It's best you get comfortable. Even if you escape…" Jacob said. "We are huge in numbers!"
"There is only like six of you, I could easily escape you." Manny said.
"Six of us, yes, but one of you." Jacob retorted.
"Well, I was in the girl's scout's so I doubt you can escape from double knotted rope!" Amy bragged.
Manny froze and tried to unravel the rope. "You're right, I can't. HELP!" He began crying out. "HELP!"
"Scream all you want, but these walls are soundproof." Jacob said. "I think. I'm unsure if it was my safe house or my actual house."
Amy looked confused. "I'm sorry, what?"
"Yeah, I remember I installed some soundproof walls into a house." Jacob said. "I just can't remember which one."
"JACOB!" Azura shouted from outside.
Jacob snapped his fingers. "It was my safe house."
Outside the house, Azura, Vee, Amelia and Sanji were both walking up to it in an effort to rescue the youngest Noceda.
"Come on out with this pretty girl's brother or we will call the police!" Sanji demanded.
"I thought you said it would be redundant." Amelia retorted.
"Well, I have to think of something." Sanji said. "A pretty lady's little brother is in need of rescuing."
"And seriously, were you named Sanji for a reason?" Amelia asked with a deadpan stare.
Sanji stuck a lollipop in his mouth. "My Moms are into Anime."
Then, four robed members ran out of the house to face their opponents. "Alright guys, how about I handle the one who least looks like a witch and isn't a shapeshifting demon." He pulled a lead pipe from his robe.
"Alright!" Two of the other members pulled out either a knife or brass knuckles. While the other pulled out a pistol."
"Really, Colleen?" Dale asked.
"Hey, you don't know, they might have a gun of their own." Colleen retorted before the four of them split up to deal with their respective intruders.
The one with the brass knuckles ran up to Vee to try and punch her in the face. However, what they didn't expect was the fact that Vee came prepared with a can of pepper spray. She sprayed it in the eyes of her opponent, causing them to fall on the porch and to scream in pain.
"Oh! My eyes! The basilisk has blinded me with a stinging chemical!" The person screamed.
"It's pepper spray!" Vee retorted.
The robed figure looked up at Vee with a pained expression. "It still hurts."
Azura's opponent was the person with the knife. It tried attacking her with the knife, but subtlety, she used her magic to extend a nearby root, causing the robed figure to trip and fall on their face.
Azura removed the knife and tossed it aside. "My Mama always said to not run with sharp objects. It could lead to accidents."
Dale walked up to Sanji, in an attempt to ward him off. "Kid, if you don't back off, I'm gonna make you suck on something that isn't that lollipop." Sanji stared at the grown man in disbelief.
"I can't believe you said that to a minor!" Sanji exclaimed.
Dale began to panic. "No! No! Don't take it the wrong, way it's just-" However, Sanji interrupted him by knocking the lead pipe from his hand by kicking his hand. Then, he attacked Dale by kicking him in the stomach.
Before he dropped to the ground, but used his hands to stop himself halfway just to kick him in the face. Then, to kick him in the chest, knocking him to the ground.
Sanji performed a pose but then, accidentally swallowed his lollipop whole, stick included, causing him to start choking.
Amelia was against Colleen, whom was pointing her gun at her. However, the woman just stood in place just in complete disbelief. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a pistol. Only this one looked more high tech, something out of a science fiction movie.
"Do you like my gun?" Amelia asked to the terrified Colleen.
The robed figure tossed her gun to the ground and belayed to a fence that she vaulted over, fearing for her life.
Azura, Vee and Sanji stared at the woman's surprise artillery. They thought she was just a regular theatre worker, but Azura did know that her Dad was probably an inventor judging by her interactions with Gwen. But she didn't expect Amelia to be packing.
"Was that…A laser gun?" Sanji asked in disbelief.
Amelia exhaled. "There are moments in life where you have to show your dominance by superior technology." She put her weapon back in her pocket.
Back in the house, Cousin Amy began to panic after seeing her comrades incapacitated. "Oh no! They incapacitated the guys!"
"Well, there is one thing we can do, we bargain for his life!" Jacob suggested. "We try and coerce them into exposing their little world for my MewTube account so I can have it verified, have people see the truth and who knows, maybe get a gig on a podcast."
Amy stared at him in disbelief. "I'm sorry, you wanna do this all for a MewTube account?"
"That's not gonna happen." Manny said.
"And why not, witch?" Jacob asked.
Manny grinned. "I might have been scared and panting due to fearing what you might do. But sometimes, when I calm down, I like to analyse the situation to see how I can fix it."
"And why mention this, little man?" Jacob asked.
Manny smiled. "Because I cut myself from these ropes a few minutes ago." He showed the two the rope he managed to cut through.
Before the two could react, Manny tossed the rope in their direction. And before they could make chase, Manny tossed some abomination in their eyes, blinding them.
"What is this?!" Amy cried a she tried to ruin the goop from her eyes.
"Sorry Amy for tossing…My science subject at your eyes!" Manny exclaimed.
"What kind of science subject is this?!" Amy cried.
Manny ran up the stairs and into the decrepit living room where he saw the front door. Thankfully, Jacob left the door unlocked because of course he would; which gave Manny the perfect opportunity to open the door.
When he opened the door, he was surprised to see his sister there along with Vee, Sanji and Amelia. They appeared to have been discussing how they were going to break in the house.
"Azura?!" Manny exclaimed.
"Manny!"
"Aunt Vee!"
Manny, Azura and Vee all huddled together for a hug which Sanji somehow managed to sneak his way into. "Yeah, no, not for you, pal." Amelia pulled Sanji off of the family.
Azura had happy tears fall down her eyes as the fact that her brother was okay was overwhelming. While Vee was repeatedly kissing her nephew's head.
Amelia cooed at the family reunion, reminiscing her own family which she was still very much distant from, while Sanji was narrowing his eyes at the woman for pulling him out of the hug.
The family pulled themselves out of the hug so Vee could check Manny for marks. "Manny, are you okay?"
Manny smiled. "Just some rope burn…" He showed his family the rope burn on his wrists. "…but I'm fine."
"Manny, I am so sorry." Azura said.
"Azura, it's not your fault I was kidnapped by that madman." Manny assured his sister.
"No Manny, I'm sorry for your birthday." Azura sighed. "I forgot to give you a present and I thought if we spent time in The Human Realm together it would have counted as a Birthday present. But, I assume it was shabby. You got captured, you got hurt, the Doctor What movie was terrible and I am a terrible sister for letting it happen. I bet you must hate me for giving you a birthday worst than your fourth."
Manny looked surprised. "My fourth birthday?"
"Yeah." Azura said.
Manny looked confused. "That was my favourite birthday."
Azura looked surprised by that statement. "But…." She was confused now. "…Moms got the…" She realised that there were two humans there. "….flu and everything that went wrong could have gone wrong."
"I know…But when they got the bad case of the flu on my birthday you did everything you could to make it special." Manny said. "You got presents, you made a terrible breakfast, the party games were not well made and the birthday cake was just four layers of cereal stuck on top one another with honey. But, the reason why it's my favourite wasn't because of my gifts or anything incredible but because of you. I realised in that moment, I really appreciated you as my sister."
Azura had tears falling from her eyes as Manny finished his speech. She tried to say something coherent but instead, she pulled him in for a hug that he returned.
Amelia had tears fall from her eyes, Vee was also tearing up while Sanji tried to act stoic all while eating a lollipop.
"Oh, and we shouldn't invite Cousin Amy to anymore family reunions." Manny said, leading Azura to stare at him with confusion.
At The Owl House, everyone had stopped arguing but the tensions were still high as Hunter was still narrowing his eyes at Ronda, the latter was trying to watch something on her scroll, Raine was drinking some apple blood, King was chatting to Greg and Reg, Emira was showing her Dad her wedding to get his memories back, Darius was taking a nap, Eda was pacing, Gus was playing some illusion games with his son, Lilith was trying to comfort Ronda, Mildred was eating some hex mix, Hooty was eating some flies, Evelyn was drinking some soda, Willow had been busy in the bathroom for a while, Edric was still eating his ice scream while Camila was on the phone with Masha.
"Alright, see you soon." She hung up on the phone and smiled. "Good news, Masha will be coming soon once they and Vee get off work. Oh, and making sure their egg is safe."
"Where are Luz and Amity?" Lilith asked.
"Yeah! They've been gone for a while." King remarked.
"Luz needed to calm down by the looks of things." Eda said. "Thankfully, Amity went along with her."
Then, the door opened and Luz and a very stern looking Amity walked in together. "Amity?" Gus reacted.
Amity inhaled through her nose and exhaled out her mouth. "I know everyone right now is stressed out about everything that has been going on. The Province and Ronda's curse but do you remember why you came here today? Was it to talk about The Province? Or belittle Ronda for having something she can't control? Well, my wife didn't invite you for that reason. She just wants another year celebrating our little boy's birthday! Do you think that's fair on her?! She has been through so much and I have been through so much and our kids have been through so much! So do you want to celebrate Manny's birthday, have him come back to people who are happy to see him instead of seeing a bunch of bitter and sour people who detest each other?"
The guests all looked at each other feeling guilty for the fight they had caused. Eda sighed. "She is right. Honestly, we are so stressed out about everything."
Willow soon returned downstairs. "Eda's right. We shouldn't be taking this out on each other. Especially on Manny's birthday."
Ronda eventually stood up and exhaled. "I think it would be best I leave."
Amity seemed surprised but understood why. "Are you sure?"
Eda gave her daughter an empathetic look. "Ronda, you don't need to leave."
Ronda sighed. "I should see Manny but I think I need some time to control this thing inside me. So forgive me if my exit seems abrupt. But, when I get this thing under control, the first thing I'm gonna do, is get Manny and pull a prank on one of you." She gave her first grin in a while. "And I ain't telling you." She opened the door and summoned the Palisman before taking off.
"Alright, Ronda." Luz muttered. "Alright."
"Is she…Planning to prank me?" Amity asked, slightly paranoid.
They closed the door to make preparations on the party. A few minutes after, Azura and Manny finally returned from their trip to The Human Realm to the living room being dimly lit.
Azura flicked the light switch and there were the sounds of party poppers and people screaming "Surprise!"
"I ate a great deal of the frosting!" Mildred exclaimed.
Manny jumped at the sight of so many people showing up for his birthday but was happy nonetheless. "Woah! So many people."
Luz and Amity ran up to her son to give them a huge motherly hug. Azura was about to walk away, but Luz pulled her in and kissed their foreheads.
"How was your trip to The Human Realm?" Luz asked.
"The Doctor What movie was terrible." Manny replied.
"I knew it would be." Luz muttered.
"And I fell twice." Manny said.
"You okay?" Amity asked.
"Oh and I was kidnapped by Old Man Hopkins and Cousin Amy is working with him to try and expose us." Manny's blunt statement got everyone to freeze in shock.
Camila especially was horrified. "What the-"
"Watch your language." Gus chided as he covered his son's ears.
Luz and Amity took some concerned glances with each other. "Uh….How about I light the candles?" Amity suggested.
