Amy and the Ancient Princess

Chapter 2

Sonic gasped as he removed his arm from his eyes, Amy now lay on the ground clutching the staff and was out cold, "A-Amy!" He called rushing to her side and kneeling down he frowned but sighed with relief when he realised she was still alive he quickly picked her up bridle style. He was about to zoom off with Amy when Tails called his communicator watch.

"SONIC!"

"Yeah, Tails?" Sonic replied.

"You got to come quick the towns being attacked by some guy in a cloak, we're trying to fight him but we're having trouble!"

"I'm on my way Tails!" Sonic exclaimed and zoomed off and quickly dropped Amy off at her house before he joined the others all the towns people were running around screaming. "Alright where is he?!" Sonic asked he skidded to a halt next to Tails.

"Up there!" Exclaimed Tails as he pointed up at the sky where the same guy in a cloak was that Sonic saw earlier.

The guy seemed to use some sort of aura to fly around, Sonic frowned as he watched and decided to approach him, "hey you!" He called.

The guy turned round and looked at Sonic through his hood all Sonic could see was a red eye shining through. "Ah the hedgehog from earlier, nice to see you again."

"Why are you attacking this town?!" Sonic demanded.

"It's really none of your business but since you insist I'm searching for the princess, where is she?!" He chuckled.

Sonic raised his eye "princess? There's no princess here!"

"WHAATTTT?!" The guy yelled he growled and began shooting balls of red aura, which the sonic team managed to dodge, however he realised his power was wearing thin. "My power it's not strong enough, I need to recharge, and I'll be back!" He yelled and flew off deep into the jungle.

"Ha we won!" Cheered Knuckles.

"Sonic who was that, he seemed to know you?!" Questioned Tails.

Sonic scratched his head "uh I think Amy might be able to explain a bit more, we gotta go to her house. You might need to look over her Tails." With that said the gang headed to Amy's place to see her still lying on the couch were Sonic had left her.

Tails checked her over and he found her to be unharmed, Amy soon woke up and sat up on her couch. "Uh, wha…What happened….Ah what am I wearing?" Amy screamed in alarm. After realising that she was wearing a dress (similar to Zelda's in the legend of Zelda games) and she was clutching onto the staff.

Sonic explained that the guy they saw at the temple was attacking the town, Amy sighed when she was asked if she knew who he was, "Well he's supposed to be an ancient evil wizard who tried to steal the power of the royal family who lived here many centuries ago so he could take over…When we entered the temple that must've been all that it took to release him." Amy sighed with her head hung in shame known that she was the one who did it. "I should have realised."

Sonic put his hand on her shoulder "don't blame yourself Amy, we'll fix this. We always do."

Amy smiled back at him, "thanks Sonic."

Tails raised his hand "uh I have a question, how come you look like that Amy?"

Amy glanced at her attire "well that I have still have to figure out."

"What do we do now?" Asked Sticks still clutching her boomerang.

"I guess we could head out and find that guy," Sonic replied while thinking. "I recall him saying he had to recharge and he headed into the jungle."

"Yeah let's do that," agreed Knuckles.

"Okay everybody let's have a good night's rest and head on out in the morning." Sonic suggested.

"Uh, shouldn't we leave now Sonic? That guys out there right at this minute." Exclaimed Tails pointing in the jungles direction.

"I think it's better if we get a rest first you guys look pretty tired from that fight." Sonic replied with a yawn.

Tails shrugged "True."

Everyone said their goodnights and headed on back to their homes to await the morning, Amy was left to examine the staff that she just couldn't seem to take her eyes of off, and it seemed to glimmer from time to time. "I gotta figure this out."

Meanwhile at Eggman's liar the doctor had just finished watching the commotion going on in the town. "Hm, now I wonder what all that was about?" Eggman asked out loud as he switched off the monitors and turned to Orbot and Cubot, "and I wasn't even the one who caused that commotion."

"You certainly missed out on that one doc." Exclaimed Cubot earning himself a glare from the doctor.

"Quiet you!" He growled.

"Who do you suppose that person in the cloak was?" Questioned Orbot.

"I don't know, but I intend to find out cause there could be something in this, like a way to destroy that blue hedgehog and his friends," Eggman chuckled evilly as he headed for his egg mobile.

The two robots shrugged and began to follow "uh where we going doc?" Asked Cubot.

Eggman started up his mobile and allowed the two robots one, "were going into that jungle to find that guy in the cloak and get him to work with us." Eggman smirked at his plan.

"Uh, in the dark?" Cubot asked noticing it was getting dark out.

Eggman sighed in annoyance "yes in the dark, now move it!" He ordered and the two quickly jumped on the mobile and Eggman flew off.
