Summary: Jude Kinkade/Zero [Gideon] centric spin on S2 E10. 'Steal'
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter fornotes.)
Jude heard the pounding on the door.
"Damnit." He looked over at his phone, which sat on the sink, as he shaved. It was 6:49 am. Who the hell could it be this early in the morning?
He had a business meeting with the Jantz people at 10:00, who had paused, but not quite pulled the plug on Zero's rental car endorsement deal. Then it was on to Oscar, who was super pissed due to Pete's"I'm staying out of it..."stance.
The basketball player not having the firm support of his coach was a nightmare PR gift that just kept on giving.
He wiped his chin, dropped the towel from around his waist and slipped on his grey, terry cloth robe, then made his way to the front door.
He looked through the peephole. 'Fuck.' With a breath, he opened the door.
In strode Zero. Blond hair slightly mussed, snug peach tee, and painted on white jeans.
Jude felt his mouth go dry, his stomach flip and his dick ache.
He shouldn't have been surprised. They were doing it. Pretty much every day since the night of the missed housewarming party. It was a strange 'business with benefits' relationship. Jude would go to his agency, then do point work at Devils Arena. Zero would go to practice, talk with his business manager, etc. Then Jude, in his role as agent, would strategize with Zero as they still worked to manage the scandal.
And just like the times before said doing it, when Zero had come to his apartment, he walked in like he owned the place.
The agent hadn't expected him to just show up, unannounced, on an early Wednesday morning. Yes, they had plans to meet at the agency and go over whatever the results of his talks with the sponsor and his dad were, while continuing to try and control the situation. Things were slightly better since Ahsha had confessed to sending the email, and Zero had 'forgiven' her, but it still was a struggle.
"What are you doing here?"
Of course, he knew as soon as the other man had stepped in. Their relationship had changed, and yet it hadn't. It still was about the baller's quest to be king of L.A. and him, Jude, getting into Devils' management…and still, it all sort of had started to pale and become hazy after…and the emotions that Jude had ultimately let himself acknowledge having.
"On my way to see my trainer…thought I'd drop by."
"Drop by…at 7 in the morning?" Jude asked, closing the door.
"Yeah. Drop," he whispered as he came nearer, looking into his eyes with unflinching concentration, as he smoothly undid the robe, displaying Jude's erection.
The cliched voice in the back of his mind, saying' Don't do it.' The other louder voice saying, 'Shut the fuck up.' "I don't think this is a good idea," he managed.
"You can tell me to leave anytime," he replied matter of fact.
Jude opened, then shut his mouth.
Zero easily reached up and slid the soft fabric down Jude's shoulders onto the floor, making him shiver.
"Go to the bedroom and wait for me," Zero ordered in the most casual tone ever.
And like a little bitch he did.
He got underneath the crumpled, grey sheets, his dick hard and pulsating.
It may have been somewhere around a full minute before Zero came into the room, and just eyed him for a moment, as the morning sun, just beginning to come up and streaming through the window, bathed him in a sort of glow.
'Damn.'
He then slowly, painstakingly began to undress. Each garment, carefully and skillfully folded and then placed on the chair that sat next to the bed.
He smiled and with a raised brow, slid in next to him. His body was warm and fragrant, as he ran a thumb across Jude's lips before he buried his tongue inside.
Of course, he reciprocated, because as stupid as this was, it was also addicting and powerful.
Suddenly Zero grabbed Jude's shoulders and slammed him further into the bed, leaping on top of him and across his hips. Jude ran his hands along Zero's solid arms before reaching up and wrapping them around his neck. Zero leaned down to enthusiastically meet Jude, again.
Zero moaned into Jude's mouth as he felt both of their erections get firmer. He started kissing along Jude's collarbone, moving lower to his torso before stopping and sucking one of his nipples, making Jude gasp.
"You like that?" Zero murmured.
"Yeah," he replied.
He then worked his way lower, licking along Jude's abs until he reached his dick. He took it, and Jude sighed loudly as he experienced his lover's hot mouth. He grabbed Zero's head and guided it up and down his shaft, his body vibrating.
Sometimes it felt like he was two people. Then again, he supposed he was a different person when Zero and he were together.
"Fuck me," he blurted.
"I'm gonna fuck you so deep, the neighbors'll know my name," Zero teased, as he shifted, took Jude's legs, placed them over his shoulder and after lubricating Jude, he moved his cock slowly inside of him, then started thrusting.
"Oh fuck!" Jude exclaimed. He pulled Zero into him, making him go deeper.
Zero let out a gasp of pleasure and started going even harder, his hips slapping against Jude's ass. He then pulled back until just the tip was inside of him, before banging it home again. He picked up the pace, pounding Jude's ass rhythmically and relentlessly.
He leaned down, grabbed Jude's face, and brought him in for a kiss as he banged him harder. Jude murmured into the salty moistness.
"You're so sexy when you're full of cock, you know that?" Zero purred.
"Oh, god. You feel so good," Jude cried in embarrassed response to the sound of Zero's words.
"Shit," Zero grunted. "You like that cock, huh?" His voice grew huskier.
"Oh fuck, you feel so good!" Jude repeated, his dick throbbing in response, as he melted into the mattress.
"Dirty," Zero growled. "I'm gonna make you come so goddamn hard, you're gonna need me again tonight just to relieve your stress."
Jude felt his dick pulse and leak, getting close to coming. He whimpered and arched his back. "Fuck yeah! Don't stop!" he shouted, "Yeah! Harder! Fuck!"
Zero grunted and banged it in deeper.
Jude started to tremble and felt his hole start to quiver around his cock, as he looked up at him. 'I really want you, but I cannot figure out a way to get you to want me. 'But all he managed was "Yeah!"
"I'm buried so far inside of you!" Zero then pulled a bit of the cock out, once again, so only about half was inside Jude.
"Keep going," he said breathlessly. 'Was this stupid, 'he thought hazily. Probably, but what was he going to do? Stop…
Jude moaned every time he felt it push against his prostate, as Zero soon found a steady, long pace.
Jude started riding the cock faster, his ass clenching against it with each thrust. His hands grabbing the sheets as the head of the cock pushed against him. "Ah, fuck, yeah!" he cried out, slamming his fists into the mattress.
"Ahhh!" Zero groaned. "Shit, so hot! Oh yeah!" he said, his cock getting ready to shoot.
He slammed in deep again and Jude felt a jolt of pleasure run through his body.
"Here I come!" he shouted. "Take it, slut! Right there!" Zero gasped, as he pulled out and came all over Jude's stomach. "Ah yeah! Oh, shit!"
"Oh, fuck," Jude groaned, loving the warmth of the other man.
Zero leaned in and unexpectedly kissed Jude's cheek. "Wow," he panted.
'Wow,' Jude's mind echoed. 'Christ, that felt good.' This was so messed up. He was messed up.
Zero then pulled away and quickly rolled off of him.
Both were breathing heavily, slick with sweat, and Jude's lower body was wet with semen.
Zero ran his fingers through his blond hair, massaging his forehead with his palm. He looked briefly over at Jude before he swung his legs to the floor and proceeded to get dressed.
"So that's it?" he said looking up at Zero who stood wearing a pair of blue boxer briefs.
"You seemed pretty satisfied a minute ago."
"What are we doing?" Jude asked, frustrated.
"We're having a good time," he said, easily pulling on his jeans, chest glistening with moisture.
Jude's dick involuntarily became stiff, again. "You've done this? Had a good time with a guy before?" He knew it was a stupid question. Zero was incredible. The way that Zero had touched him; he knew exactly what to do and how to do it.
He laughed at Jude's naiveté. "I've been with men. And women. And men and women. It's not deep, Jude, because I don't make it deep. I don't do relationships."
Jude snorted at that. "Funny, because it seemed the minute you met Jelena you were trying to lock her down."
Both clearly remembered his frustration that she couldn't and wouldn't forget about Terrence and fall magically head over heels for him. Zero and Jelena had come in hot and fast, then crashed and burned.
"That was part of the plan." He lastly pulled on the tee.
"Falling for her wasn't. It makes you wonder if you're only here with me because you can't be with her." Jude knew he was being needy. That didn't stop him from wanting more from the relationship.
"And that's why I don't do relationships. I can't deal with conversations like this. Only thing that matters is busting open the rift between Derek and Terrence. We can keep having fun or not. Up to you." Zero then left his bedroom via the patio doors, slamming them on the way out.
Jude looked after him as he walked out. He then slid down into the pungent sheets, exhaled and put his hands behind his back.
Eventually Jude got up, took another shower, made himself some black coffee and went to sit out on his patio. The same one that Raquel had broken into...
Jude could hear his neighbors' music, not super loud, but if played above level 5… …some of them men think they freak this… , He vaguely remembered the song from a Devil Girls' performance. They seemed to be nice enough people; he didn't really know them except to say good morning. He thought their names were Billie and Tonya? In the end, he supposed it didn't matter. He had more important stuff on his mind. He had his meetings and then a lunch date, tomorrow, with Lionel.
"I need a plus-one for my premiere tomorrow. You free?" asked Lionel as she walked into her Tuscany inspired, Malibu sitting room bringing two plates. She set them down in front of Jude and settled into her own seat.
"What's up with you and Pete? He's already decked me once. I'm not looking to start more drama," he said, leaning forward and reaching for the food, knife in hand.
"It's not a problem. Drama-free," she assured emphatically. "Unless you're seeing someone?" She gestured.
"Actually, I am seeing someone," he said reaching for the edamame. "But they won't care. They don't seem to be the possessive type."
Lionel leaned back, smiled, and crossed her arms and legs. "You said "they" twice," she said knowingly. "You're playing the pronoun game. My brother played the pronoun game. Wound up married to a gay biker in Providence. You're lovin' on a guy."
Between small silent bites, he glanced at her. Could he trust Lionel? He had just 'come out' to himself. Let alone anyone else. He looked at her smiling, approving face. He knew he could confide in her.
"Okay." He paused. "He's not a biker in Providence, but, yeah, it's a guy." It felt good to say it out loud and surprisingly easy. Of course, he wasn't naïve enough to think that everyone in his life would be so stress-free to come out to. He vaguely thought about his mother…and Oscar.
"Oh, you have to take me to the premiere now!" She threw her hands up in what seemed like relieved happiness. "You're tolerable, you're handsome. You're not gonna try to get me into bed. You're the perfect date."
He squinted at her, with a little smile. "Thanks…I guess."
"So, what's he like? Where'd you meet him?" she asked, picking up her cup of green tea and taking a sip.
He in no way was going to tell her it was Zero. He trusted Lionel, but not that much.
"He's…different and…I met him around…" he said with a little laugh. It was true. Zero was very different to the kind of person, man, that he would have thought himself with. Street, white boi baller, with swag for days would not have been on his BINGO card. He had realized in the last few days that from the moment that they'd first met, Jude introducing himself after watching the Cleveland Wolves practice, that there was something about him. He couldn't quite explain it to himself, even now. A Chemistry?
"He isn't married, is he?"
Jude sensed big sister concern, coupled with the sensitive disapproval of a woman that had been betrayed in her marriage to Pete.
"No, no. It's not that. It's just complicated."
"So, he's not out, either." She tilted her dark head. "Let me guess though…he's a young, indie filmmaker who went to USC...Oh, no, I've got it! A middle-aged Hollywood, entertainment lawyer…or someone just as equally slick and useless," Lionel said with a throaty, bitchy laugh.
"Wrong. On both counts. But, yeah, I'll be your date for the premier."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'…Body double. You mean I didn't have to do all that nudity myself?'
'Now, I couldn't help but notice your date tonight is not Pete Davenport.'
'I never wear the same man to a premiere twice.'
"Chase Vincent's out?!" Jude could feel the panic rising. "When? How?" he asked on his cell, his informant at the police station on the other end.
He looked back over his shoulder as Lionel was being interviewed before they were to enter the premiere's theatre. It was lights, cameras and lots of action on full display. 'How does Pete feel about you doing a movie like this?'
'I'm my own woman. That's what this movie's about.'
'Thank you so much.'
'Thanks, Lionel, thank you.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jude appeared at Lionel's side, just as she had finished her red-carpet interview. Like twins, they wore tight, matching smiles for very different reasons.
~~~
"It wasn't that bad. Don't worry about it," Jude intoned as he and a distraught looking Lionel left the theatre. In fact, it was that bad. While he had the whole situation with Olivia ever present in the back of his mind, he'd tried to focus in on the film for Lionel's sake.
There was overlapping chatter that pretty much summed up the feelings of the crowd.
"I didn't get that one part…" said a young woman, to which her male companion replied, "I didn't get the whole movie."
All he'd come around to was that someone that he considered to be like the sister that he'd never had…he'd seen her full-frontal nude. Bush and all. It. Was. Jarring. To say the least. Which, if the film had been good, yeah whatever. But seeing his friend naked in a really terrible movie…. although, he had to remind himself, it wasn't about him. It was about her, and she was upset. He needed to support Lionel…
"How about I buy you a dirty martini?" he uttered as they stepped into her studio car.
"Man, I've got six parties I could be at," Derek said as he walked into Jude's apartment.
After the Devils had defeated the Blazers in the conference finals, becoming the conference champions he'd wasted no time texting Derek. They were on an uncertain timeline. Who knew when everything could blow up?
Jude had just stepped into his apartment, still holding his jacket, briefcase and phone when Derek had knocked.
"What's so important?"
"Chase Vincent's out of jail. Police are working on rebuilding their case against him which means new digging," said Jude, putting his things down in a chair.
"Think they might find out about us and the coke?" Derek's exuberance at his win, suddenly subdued to seriousness as he crossed his arms.
"Olivia was blackmailing both of us. The police will be double-checking every napkin she ever scribbled on. Who knows what they'll find? I don't even have an alibi for the night she died. Do you?"
"No. I don't." Jude noted the look of skepticism that crossed Derek's face.
"Well, maybe we can help each other out. I could be your alibi; you can be mine."
"Cool."
Jude took a short, relieved breath which then caught in his throat. Lying on the coffee table, next to copies of the Los Angeles Sun, Men's Heath, etc. he spotted Zero's fob to his Aston Martin, attached to a silver cross, his penthouse keys and Jude's house keys. Damn.
"Um, We'll figure out the details tomorrow. Have fun." He needed to get Derek out of his apartment. Quick. He had no way of knowing if Zero had overheard any of their conversation or on the flip side, if he hadn't, for all he knew the baller could come sauntering out of his bedroom naked wearing headphones. Neither scenario was something he wanted to happen at this moment. He slapped Derek on his back as he ushered him out.
As soon as he closed the door, Zero emerged wrapped in a towel.
"I didn't realize you were here." Jude couldn't read the other man's expression.
"I was in the shower. Did you just get in?"
"Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna jump in the shower. Then we can celebrate that win." He hurried past Zero, clapped his bare shoulder and quickly closed the door behind him. Jude stripped down, turned on the shower, got in and let the hot water drench him. He closed his eyes, inhaled and tried to calm himself.
~~~
"Why are you here?" asked Jude, lying on his bare stomach, as Zero lay next to him propped up on his elbow. They were splayed out on his living room floor. Having just finished a marathon of 'Alien' movies.
"Havin' fun," he said, leaning in and rubbing his beard against Jude's shoulder.
"No, I mean here. Right now. You just won a championship. As your agent, I can tell you, being seen at the…six parties you could be at, would be a good PR move. It would show people are willing to forgive or at least forget, the closer you get to the Title."
"Do we have to have this conversation?" Zero moaned, as he kissed Jude's shoulder, making his way to his neck.
While he shivered at the amazing feeling, and he tried not to think too deeply, Jude couldn't help himself. He looked up at the framed L.A. Devils' jersey hanging over his fireplace. Zero's first after signing with the team. He'd worn it in the game where he'd had his triumphant winning shot. He'd then given it to Jude as a thank you for bringing him to L.A.
Suddenly, he bit his lower lip and let out a gasp as he felt Zero's fingers explore the moles on the small of his back and then slowly move inside his asshole.
"I'm here," he whispered as he moved closer and deeper into Jude, "because I, I…trust you, I need... we need each other. We know each other's secrets."
