Chapter XIII: Ghosts of the World

Takes place where we last left off (Author's POV) Dragneel residence

Natsu told his mother where he wanted to go. His choice made her go wide eyed for a meer moment before nodding. She understood right away that his choice was where it all began. As much as it pained her, going there will have to do. At least they'll be alone to deal with their current stance between one another.

"Very well. We shall leave at once. Natsu.." She picked her son's head up and stood up. He did the same and looked up to his mother. "From here on, you'll stay at my side. I haven't thought once about returning there… So you need to stay close. I have a strong feeling we'll be seeing some unwanted faces…"

Natsu wondered what Ophis was thinking, getting him very confused. Surely she didn't fear anyone. She and Igneel were the most powerful beings in all of existence. After defeating their parents, Ophis and Igneel stapled their position as such. Was he missing something?

Then it hit him, she wasn't worried about herself but him. There was little to doubt that his remaining relatives could fight him, and some might be able to get the upper hand as well… He feared that as well now, second guessing his destination he picked to go to. Truth is he only wanted to go see their fallen castle. To see the kingdom that he failed, destroyed and left to the sands of time.

Ophis snapped her fingers, a portal opening up to the old world appearing as clear as day. She offered her hand to her child who took it slowly. She gave him a slight tug and they went on their way.

X_X -Dragneel Kingdom/Empire Thousands of years ago (Right after Natsu destroyed it)

Once on the other side, the two royals looked around. It was a sunny day, with no signs of any life around. All around them was an empty husk of a town… The entire capital had not a single soul outside of them. Ophis had an unreadable face, it was her first time seeing what was left after Natsu's great purge. Destruction would not fit properly, everything seemed to have been precise, and not random.

"Natsu… My dear boy…" She brought him in for a hug. Tears rolled down her face, hitting the salmon hair male's head.

Bodies were all around, burnt to crisps. Beyond any chance of being identified, the poor families that managed to leave this place behind would never be able to get closure for their loved ones that had died. Not even any birds of hunt were around to pick at the corpses…

Natsu's bangs were shadowing his eyes, however before long he spun around and embraced his mother tightly. His head right between her breasts, her hand patting his head. The mother and son remained like that for a few minutes, not saying a word. Once Natsu shook his head and made some space, he thanked his mother for the comforting hug.

"I really needed that… Thanks." Natsu said, not receiving a reply. "Lets head back to the castle. I need to clean a part of my mess…"

"You seek redemption… ? Or is it forgiveness?" Ophis pondered, not expecting an answer from Natsu who started to walk to their old home. "Whatever it is, I will support you Natsu." Ophis stopped her tears, and caught up to her son with one step.

They took their time reaching the castle, from where they started at one of the gates furthest away from it. Natsu was at this time just thinking how horrible it was that this entire land doesn't exist anymore in the future, in his time in the guild. He would've loved to show his guild mates his old home if he remembered about it at all, but atlas time was his enemy for that. Without anyone to live in the kingdom, the gods along with Igneel sent this entire continent below the waves.

What he'd give to reverse that. To change his past, to save those that died by his hand… He knew he was guilty for this, all of it. He was responsible for why his kids grew up in a different world other than their own. Too many problems and faults came rushing to his mind that he felt like passing out.

Ophis, noticing Natsu suddenly starts shaking and leaning over, pulls him to her side, and leads the way to their old castle. She got a bit worried that this was causing him too much stress, and she would have to get them there quickly if Natsu wanted to keep his sanity.

Using her normal speed, she took one step and traveled the nineteen kilometers to the broken drawbridge that led inside their old, broken fossil of a castle. This made Natsu relax and let go a chuckle, and once again he thanked her. She gave him a kiss on the forehead, letting that be her response.

"Let's go inside. I have a feeling why you wanted to come here."

Without delay Natsu broke out into a sprint and ran to his old room. He started going through some books. Ophis arrived behind him, at his door frame. She could see he was tossing around his child story books she used to read to him.

"Oh, I think I'm going to take those with me." She bent over and picked up every child storybook and sent them away in her personal portal.

"I'm looking for the family albums. I wanted to see the rest of the family… Mainly aunt Anna."

"You always had a crush on her… But I will not allow you to mate with your Aunt. She was a very loyal wife and I doubt she'd ever once dare cheat on her mate."

"Well… I wasn't going to go on about that…" Natsu sweatdropped. "I wanted to see the picture of her holding the twins. You know, Lucilina and Deanna."

"Ahh yes, she did have twins. Those two girls, if I recall correctly, left on their own one day… No one knew where." Ophis paused. "They'd be the same age as Wendy…" Ophis brought a hand to her chin.

"I think I might know. But I doubt they're around anymore. If they were, I highly doubt Lucy and her mother would've been the way they were…"

"You want to talk about her… This Lucy girl?" Ophis asked, knowing he's been stuck worrying about her. At first she thought it was a normal crush, the young man sure had a heavy amount of mates already. However she knew by now it was different. Natsu's desire and new found flame burned for not a mate, but for something much, much bigger.

"Lucianna or Deanna might be Lucy's grandmother. From the few times I saw pictures of Lucy's mother, Layla, I believe she could've passed for even aunt Anna's little sister. They all look so much like one another, nearly perfect copies." Natsu kept looking, finding a dozen photos of his aunt and her daughters.

"I wonder… Other than a run down memory lane, what do you plan to do from here Natsu?" His mother moved to his side, leaning forward to see the photos. "Still amazes me we had a mage that was able to take these way back then…"

"Yeah. We paid him fairly well for a lot of these. I don't think I've ever met someone afterwards with the same amount of skill. Granted no one really had to go out of their way for them now, since lots of stores sell cameras and even phones now." Natsu thought of his old guild mates, an older man that had gained tons of weight came to mind.

"Natsu." Ophis stated his name in a manner that any child knew it was the start of a lecture or story time. "We have come so far from our time, that the modern day seems rather unreal. From portraits being made from fresh fruit and flowers, to people talking to each other on a cell phone rather than in person. I may be old to the point everything I grew up with is ancient. Lost to time and never to be reforged. Yet now I'll be able to enjoy the endless amounts of joy life will throw our way. With that said Natsu, I want you to be there for the rest of my days. I will protect you from the world and damn fate if it says otherwise."

"Mother…" Natsu spoke, his mother grabbing his hands within hers.

"Your cousins, if still out there, will not be here… Not at this point in time. I may be a god, but I can't change the past freely-nilly. Not to make light of it, all of us are of the old gods, my blood runs through your veins." Ophis took her hand and created a small world within her grasp. "From a time before mortals even existed, I've been ever patient. The mortals of our home realm are younger than even you Natsu, but not by much." She smiled. "You'll learn eventually what strings you'll be able to pull and what you can get away with. But till you can stand on your own two feet," Ophis stepped away, growing rapidly in size to a near hundred meters tall.

"I'll be your muscle." Her voice boomed, before she started to giggle, returning to her normal size and once again holding onto her son.

Natsu then pointed out that she was adorable being the protective mother she is, but he knows she's far bigger than that if she was ever to get serious, which she rolled her eyes back. She motioned for Natsu to start again, keeping their conversation going.

"Yeah, there's a limit to how much can be altered. I can't bring back the dead to a point that they were still alive and then sling shot them to the future. Too many gods, be it of the old or new, and primordials will have a conniption." Natsu chuckled, a way to hide the sadness that still came out and was unavoidable.

"Your aunts would fight everyone to bring back their mates. Esdeath loved her kids and husband, but with her one son back she has broken down. She's not doing well… Handling the new world and this group that's out to harm us is at the top of her list of whom to eradicate."

"I can't say much about how they feel, losing a mate and child… I couldn't fathom that pain."

"You can't. It's a level of pain that one will never recover from."

They stayed still in silence, Ophis placing a kiss on Natsu's forehead. She backed away, still holding her son, her eyes glued to his. Their matching eyes mirrored one another like glass, truly deep in thought.

"Natsu, let's give everyone a farewell. Our people deserve a proper send off."

They broke off and started walking out of their castle. Natsu turned back to take one last look at his very home. He had a frown, too many memories were within these walls. How he wished he could have grown old here, raise his kids and see the world under his royal protection. With a sigh he turned his frown to a smile and waved his home goodbye.

Ophis on the other hand, raised her hand as a black flame came to life. She blew it from her palm to the castle, rapidly spreading and consuming the entire structure in her flames. Within moments the structure gave in and became rubble, everything that once stood was ash. The normal cold and emotionless Ophis, shred some tears in the wide open. Her son watched on, the flames grabbing his attention, glowing bright reflecting in his eyes.

"I will not make the same mistake again. This is our home no longer. We must move on…" Ophis said, burning her tears away as she spun back and walked away from their old home. "Come Natsu, we mustn't delay." She made way for what would be the ocean.

Natsu turned to his mothers back, and followed at her heels. He kept the photos and some other albums close before placing them in a self-storage space via his magic. Natsu knew that whatever was coming, keeping details and every small bit he could manage to get out without others noticing was worth the risk. He noticed even his mother grabbed a few belongings and portraits earlier, no doubt to hang up around their new home on Earth.

X_X (Back at the Dragneel residence and Realm)

Cana and Mira were going around, showing the newcomers all the current sites and rooms throughout the estate. Trying to make their guests feel at ease, they started with ophis' personal garden she had tended to. Within hundreds of yards, rows of all sorts of flowers and even some small trees lined the area. Asia and Xenovia personally took a liking to the garden and requested to have some free time to explore it more.

Mira giggled and said it was more than ok. She noticed Akeno was a little lost in thought, her eyes focusing on some bonsai trees that were in their own little habitat. Mira went on and nudged her, giving her trademark smile.

"Go ahead. They're waiting for you."

Akeno blushed and bowed her thanks, rushing to the small trees. Rias with a smile on her face, took her phone out and snapped a picture of her best friend, saving it as insurance for later…

The rest of the devils continued their tour with Mira and Cana, passing by some of their personal rooms, the large bath houses, and seeing the training arena. Issei whistled, beyond impressed with how gigantic it truly was. Cana informed them that they practice here regularly, and if they ever wanted to do so they should feel free to do the same.

Coming behind the group, Erza along with her older sister and mother, Kyouka and Irene mentioned that they were planning on starting a quick spar before heading to the baths. Issei turned his head, seeing the three strongest members gathered recently. His partner was urging him in his head not to start anything perverted with any of them. The sheer power they were suppressing was more than a match for himself in his prime.

Gulping Issei swallowed his urges to look at their breasts, instead turned to his King and admired what he was truly fighting for. Rias noticed his staring and giggled. She then suggested that he should take a close watch to the sparring match, noting that his fellow dragons will be fighting.

This got Ddraig's attention. Being trapped in the sacred Boosted Gear for the long period he was, he hasn't seen many dragons go at it in a very long time barring himself against the White one. If the contestants were related to Ophis and Igneel, then there is little doubt their power is bare minimum that of a God level being. At this, Issei's arm morphed to his gauntlet, glowing green as the Red Dragon Emperor began to speak.

"I wonder if it will be alright to spectate closely? If you don't mind, that is."

Irene chuckled, answering for herself and her girls.

"That won't be an issue. Now Ddraig, would you prefer a front row seat or more of a hands free view?" Her questions confused everyone. "Oh allow me…" She snapped her finger, her huge magical staff coming out from her dimensional space. "For me," she paused, pointing her staff at Issei. "I can free you partially from your imprisonment, but you'll look nothing much more than that of a familiar. Power limited too, don't want to start any issues with the remaining factions of this world you're currently residing in." Her words left Ddraig silent. Issei however was ecstatic.

Starting to celebrate hearing the news, Issei jumped up high and unconsciously used his devil wings to do a backflip mid air before coming back down. The young pawn was the happiest he's been since the night Rias first kissed him after beating Riser. Yet not wanting to get his hopes up too far, Ddraig put it to bed.

"I would appreciate the room to breathe againHowever I must insist no one outside of this group ever finds out about thisI much rather avoid conflict if it'll allow my partner to pursue his dream." Ddraig admitted to caring for his host, a partner that has brought both shame and honor to his name.

"Are you sure it's not because you'll be embarrassed?" Came the sly remark from a newcomer, Esdeath. "It's been some time since I've seen you in the outside world, Ddraig." The Ice dragon goddess said with a slight sense of venom, getting Ddraig to go dead silent.

Issei felt the tug on his body as though Ddraig just lost all his strength. He could start hearing the mighty dragon emperor shake at the idea of being around for Esdeath to get her hands on him. Fearing his life was in danger, Ddraig was about to protest his freedom all together only to be cut off before he had the chance.

"Oh yes, I forgot you and my sister had a story together…" Irene began to chuckle, bringing a hand to her mouth to hide her sinister smile. "Say Wendy, dearie?" Irene called her niece who just arrived behind her mother Esdeath. "Can you do us a favor and watch Ddraig for me? I don't want your mother to accidentally 'hurt' him."

Wendy had recalled what her mother told her about her times with other dragons of this world and dimension. The one that kept making her mother go from sweet and kind to a raging killer would be the red emperor. The exact reason, she did not know but if she could possibly find out why, it would be from the male dragon himself.

"Sure. I don't mind watching a hatchling." Wendy said with daggers, eyeing Issei's arm.

'I will find out who and exactly what you are to my mother… And so help me if her anger is justified, I'll take care of you myself!' Wendy thought, releasing some built up wind in her palm before crushing it as if it was a stress ball.

Within a few seconds a tiny green orb left Issei's hand, and a dragon the size of a sprite dragon similar to Asia's landed in Wendy's grasp. Wendy held him close and whispered into her new young friend's ears what she had in store for him, getting him to nearly choke on his heart.

"Now now, be nice to the drake." Edeath teased, licking her lips. "If he plans on sticking around long, he might need to be put to some work…" Her sadistic side came out in full.

Seeing his partner in trouble, Issei brought up the match again, saving the red dragon from a fate worse than death. Wendy took Issei and Ddraig down to the front seats of the arena while the rest of the guests attending sat a few rows back. Right now the three contestants each got into their own spaces, gearing up with swords and shields for warm up.

"When you're ready then… GO!" Esdeath yelled as the mother and daughters went at one another. It wasn't long after the weapons were destroyed and discarded to oblivion. The onlookers were amazed at how fast the women were going at it, even Wendy and her new sisters.

"Mira-nee, you want to go at it next?" Lisanna nudged her older sister.

"I doubt you'll want to do that." Mira teased mockingly. "You don't want to be embarrassed in front of our guests do you?" At that remark Lisanna's eyes a-lit-fire.

"You are soo going down!" Lisanna said firmly with confidence.

"Hey now you two, save that for later. Focus on the match now, you'll notice some new moves and strategy from your elders." Esdeath reminder her other nieces. "You really do remind me of us girls when we were your age… Just as cute too." The older dragoness said, getting Mira and Lisanna to blush at her comment.

Back in the ring, Irene had Kyouka pinned down with her knee in her back while holding Erza back with an extended right arm. All of their armor and clothing was damaged and ripped apart, leaving only key areas still covered from the pervert in the stands.

"Well I think it's time to go bigger…" Irene then threw Erza rapidly into orbit, breaking a few sound clouds on the way up. Now with more time on her hands, she focused all attention on her eldest daughter.

Kyouka grunted as Irene slowly got her knee off her, replacing it with her boot. With a warm yet chilling smile, Irene began to chant a forgotten magic, Kyouka's body glowing a bright green before collapsing in on itself, leaving a much smaller version of the once feared demoness of Tartaros.

"Ahh yes, The perfect size." The mother said before reaching down to grab hold of her four inch frozen still daughter. "Ohh don't give me that look. I let you keep your clothes… Be grateful I am such a kind and loving mother…" Irene again chuckled evilly. Soon more sound clouds began to break as Erza returned with a crater in her landing.

"That was Not cool. I won't hold back any more mother..!" Erza said, not noticing what happened to Kyouka who was in Irene's hand. She then rushed at her mother, her dragonwings giving her a huge boost in speed before going away to make herself much more agile.

"These girls… They act nothing like their mother. What am I going to do…" Irene sighed, before lowering Kyouka between her breasts to deal with Erza. "Stay here where mommy can keep you safe." She smirked much to Kyouka's rage and embarrassment.

"Where is Kyouka?!" Erza snarled, landing a few blows to Irene's side and a kick to her left shoulder. This only made her mother smile more and more.

"I am so proud of how strong you girls have become. You're making me actually defend." Irene jumped back from her youngest daughter who just now started to take a pause and catch some breath. "However I want things to be a bit more interesting. So here's what's going to happen…"

X_X (Back at the Dragneel residence and Realm 3 hours later)

After a beating that neither daughter would ever live down, Erza and Kyouka were carried away by their mother into her private baths, The oldest dragoness stating she enjoyed their new 'size' and wanted to experience the things she missed when they were separated. "Come you two, mommy here needs to show you how to wash behind your ears." The sisters held each other tightly, still between their mothers large chest.

The match that had followed after between Mira and Lisanna was another out of this world spectacle. At first it was an easy match where each were basically stretching out their kinks and muscles while getting their blood pumping. Secondly things started turning for the bizarre when Lisanna morphed into her dragoness body and proceeded to catch Mirajane mid air between her jaws.

Lisanna was smirking while tasting her sister all over with her tongue. Knowing once this ended Mira was going to get her revenge, Lisanna decided to make it worth it and leaned back, swallowing Mira whole. The guests and family members all were shocked, Cana however was laughing her ass off, rooting for Lisanna.

The match ended moments after with Esdeath calling it. Lisanna reverted back to normal after spitting back Mira out. The older sister stared a promised death towards her younger one. Lisanna thanked her for the match before bursting out of the arena to go hide from the sticky, spit-covered ex-bar maid. Mira promised sweet revenge and went to pay her dearest little sister a room check.

This left Esdeath, her daughter Wendy, Cana, Issei, and Rias pondering what to do next. They were left by themselves as the others were off doing their own things within the dimension. Ddraig suggested that Esdeath might want to practice a bit against Issei in his boosted gear armor. Issei started sweating bullets at the idea and Wendy chuckled at the idea, she was looking forward to the idea much to the perverts dismay.

On a further patch of land outside the arena, closer to the estate was a pathed road that was nothing short of a private race track, stadium included. Seeing a modern human structure to this degree was all at the request of Irene. She had requested the idea of having a race track so she could enjoy herself with some less destructive hobbies, an idea her nephew Laxus was enjoying greatly recently.

Laxus was with his cousins Kumi and Ren looking over a collection of bikes which had gotten the blonde's attention rather quickly. Back on Earthland, bikes weren't super common and most people stuck to cars powered by magic, or simple horse-pulled wagons still. Any bikes he was able to see also happened to be way too small for a man of his stature.

Ren chuckled sheepishly, understanding all too well the pain of not being able to ride a nice bike. Right now he was just blown away with how many bikes Irene had acquired over her visits to earth over however many years. She had motorcycles ranging from their second world war, to ones that seem to be fresh off the assembly line.

Yet before Laxus was able to get himself onto a bike big enough for himself, the scary thought all dragon slayers feared raised its head. 'What if he gets motion sickness…?' The entire feeling rushed back to his mind as if he just experienced it for the first time. He slowly took a gulp and then took a look at Ren who just started his bike up and began to move a few yards, unaffected by any motion sickness.

"D-do you two suffer at all from motion-sickness?" Laxus asked, a little bit surprised at seeing the smaller man have no sort of discomfort evident on his face.

"Nope. Haven't had it in decades. Learned a spell long ago that completely removes the sickness. Do you want me to cast it on you?" Kumi asked, eager to help her new cousin out.

She casted it on him, and within about twenty seconds Laxus gave his bike a brief stroll in which he felt no sickness whatsoever. A smirk came to his face as he started to rev his bike more and more. To this, Kumi asked if he felt alright, a bit worried she might've messed the spell up after not using it the first time she ever casted it. The cast was permanent, much to both her and her brother's luck.

Laxus nodded, saying he was in her debt. His words made her blush madly, looking away from him in much heat and embarrassment. After a minute or two she also picked out a bike and instantly took off onto the track. Ren laughed at his sister's reaction, letting Laxus know she kinda had the hots for him.

Laxus at the news of this shrugged it off and acted all cool. She was another girl on his radar he felt like he had feelings for, more than that of a friend. Natsu had brought a few girls within just a few days that had his attention, but at the moment Laxus couldn't tell if he was even ready to date. It was too soon he thought, but then the fact Natsu had claimed Serafall as fast as he did made him go back to what he was told.

The whole concept of mates, for dragons it was nearly the exact equivalent of love at first sight. Both mates would have the same grabbing feeling, daring them to get closer to one another both emotionally and physically. For the blonde, he swore he felt this way once before, but the female he had feelings for blew away in the wind. Not knowing how to act otherwise, Laxus kept up his distant demeanor and let it roll off for now.

"Well see what the future holds. For now, let's ride." Laxus revved his bike up once more before taking off, screeching his tires as he burned rubber.

This caught Ren off a bit, but he sighed. It was the first time he's seen his older sister ever have a crush. She'd deny it and beat him up if he ever went and blabbed about it out loud. Worse if he did it in front of her and Laxus. From here he started his bike up again as it stalled in wait. Now it was his turn to burn rubber.

X_X (Dragneel residence and Realm 1 day later)

With Natsu and Ophis still not returned, the others started to plan what they'd do for the day. They had time to relax and enjoy themselves, as nothing that required their direct intervention happened back on earth or the underworld. Igneel had informed everyone he had wanted to gather some supplies from earth and he'd be returning in a few hours. Seilah knew full well it was because her and a certain someone bled his stock dry

Serafall, Sona and Tusbaki were currently watching an anime Rory had multiple copies of, posters all around her room as well. She had recommended it to Serafall a long time ago which sad to say was a 'small' factor to her obsession with magical girls. The show happened to grab the attention of Wendy who tugged at Rory's pjs, the two grabbing seats unoccupied next to Sera. Before long, Sona admitted to now she understood where the horrible, torture of a habit her sister has, had come from. The young heiress could only stare at her older sister who was unphased, however she was still very sore from the payment that came from her matting session.

Despite being a super devil, one of the strongest to have ever lived, she could tell after being with Natsu she was going to be leagues above her previous strengths. Thinking nearly nonstop about her mate, she wondered if she should start calling it a career. Hang up her magical-girl days. True her fans would be upset, but she's already given them over twenty years of service.

An idea then popped up in her head. Should she go through with retiring from her acting career, she should include her new family in a series finale! Rory for sure she knew would go for it, and with some convincing Wendy might join in as well. Having her mate Natsu show up and play a heroic role would also boost ratings to an absolute all time high. A record which she knows would never be broken!

She smiled devilishly, noticed by the rest of those sitting next to her. Sona felt an icy chill go down her spine, giving her an all too clear idea at what her sister might be planning. Wendy shook her head, wondering what was on the newest dragoness' mind.

"Oh I have an idea." She started to giggle, forcing Sona to start shaking her for answers. "Fine! I want to have a series finale! Retire from acting for good!" She shouted, louder than she thought planned, a side effect of her new body changes.

"T-that's… Ummm… Not like you." Tusbaki spoke up, shocked that her role model would somehow, someway drop a bombshell like this. "Any particular reason Leviathan-sama?" The mention of her title got Serafall back to her senses, turning to the vice president.

"Come now Tusbaki, we're family. I've known you since you were in diapers, I'm as much your older sister as I am Sona's." She did not like the formalites with someone she considered family.

"My apologies." Tusbaki said, blushing at the mention of her being a baby.

"Tell me more, I've known you far too long for you to leave it at that." Rory said, knowing her best friend will buckle under her stare.

"Don't give me that stare… Errr…. Fine.! O.K.!" Serafall sighed, pulling at her currently down hair. "I was thinking we could introduce the rest of my new family in a few episodes for some major reviews and… To break the ice, that I am no longer on the market."

The room went quiet minus the tv which Wendy rushed to pause with the remote. The rest of the room's occupants had lost their breath. Any ideas of what to say never came to form, they were all clueless.

Luckily for them all, Mikey came into the room with a platter loaded with snacks and two tea casters. He set the tray down on a center table and set up some plates for each of the girls. His sudden arrival took a few minutes for the girls to register, nearly finished with the task he began to head back out till Rory called out to him.

He came to a stop and turned to his aunt who seemed to have a question for him. The rest of the girls remained silent, still lost in thought.

"What do you think about being a tv star, be it just a few episodes…?" She left the question open, not expecting much of an answer right away.

"I wouldn't mind I guess… But good luck convincing my sisters to let me go anywhere without them." Mikey thought, truly thinking about being a tv star for a moment or two. "I haven't had any sort of training in regards to acting. So I admit I may not be actually good at it."

His level of maturity really shocked all of them, Rory and Wendy being so damn proud of the younger male. Serafall then spoke up, letting him and extension everyone present know her exact plan. After explaining in rather sharp detail, the group nodded that it didn't sound bad.

Natsu most likely would go for it, he loved attention, teasing the guilds way back on earthland when he stole the crown or dressed up as the king. Wendy brought that event up which only made Rory and Serafall wish they were there to see it happen. Wendy then threw out the fact they can with memory magic.

She proceeded to cast her memories of the event onto the tv, all from her view. The group gathered in front of the television and took in the sight. Hundreds of people dressed fancy at what looked like a fancy gathering fit for royals. Those that were there started to snicker at some things they found amusing, others just wanting to skip it.

When it came to announcing the king, everyone knew Natsu was going to showboat. Without fail he did, and his younger sister, Serafall and kids had stars in their eyes.

"I love my Dad! He's soo funny!" Luna cheered.

"He's such a dork." Erza said, making her presence known, her sister and mother behind her.

"True, glad to see he never changed that. I wonder if he'd be willing to have a formal wedding with all of you, or one at a time? If he wants, he needs to be crowned for each one." Irene said, laughing about it.

The girls, Natsu's mates all blushed. They figured either solo weddings or all at once would be nice, but they'd leave that to Natsu, their KING to decide.

"I get to be in the bridal party regardless! You too Luna!" Kunou said, grabbing her hands.

The sisters laughed while Mikey got himself comfortable on the couch. Lisanna and Mira sat at either side of him, giving the boy a head pat with some warming smiles. Before long Wendy started playing the first day she met Natsu and the rest of 'team natsu'.

The Gremory peerage came in from their time exploring some of the outside realm, Akeno of which was now sporting a purple flower in her hair, matching her eyes. Greetings were made as everyone was now watching the screen. The devils were amazed at the show, seeing these mages cast and use magic at will. Their mastery was commendable, and in fact even Serafall was surprised that Wendy was able to cast such powerful wind magic.

They began talking, the satan and young blue haired dragoness. Wendy mentioned that incase the others forgot, at that time both Natsu and herself were locked magically. Their memories and their bloodline was heavily sealed and locked away. This recycled some ideas from beforehand, wondering if Wendy would like to go back, and by extension the rest of those from Earthland.

Wendy pondered it for a moment, but shook her head. She was sure of her answer.

"Yeah I thought about it before. A few times, how life was living among those spirits…" She noticed Issei and his fellow devils look at her, not following. "Ohh, my bad. When the guild first met me, the people who raised me and were taking care of me. After our group mission, it turned out they were spirits held in place from the curse left on the land. Overall it's a bit of a headache to explain." Wendy sweetdropped.

"She was soo cute back then…" Erza teased, rubbing up next to her. "She needed a guild to take her in, and there was no way I'd ever turn her away." Erza blushed, happy that Wendy came and joined Fairy Tail.

"I forget that I'm the older one here… Hehe." Wendy mocked, noticing Erza back up slightly. "Plus now I see what Natsu-nii meant when he said you are a loli-con." Daggers stabbed the knight, she fell back as her spirit started to fly away.

"Ohh no you don't, you don't get to leave us this early!" Kyouka said, pushing Erza's spirit back inside.

The devils were blown away by what they just saw, very confused. Deciding to change the subject back to where it was supposed to be, Issei asked how earthland was over all. It was his first time truly thinking about how different the two worlds could be. Wendy got more comfortable on the couch, ready to start back up again.

"Well, to be honest I wouldn't go back. Despite letting the past go, I will never wish to relive the nightmare of not knowing who I am, who my family is. My mother, my uncles and aunts… My cousins, and now my mate." Wendy looks down at her dangling feet, placing one over the other.

"Plus I have the cutest nieces and nephew." Wendy winked at the kids, each one smiling back their famous Dragneel grin.

Irene spoke up next, taking a seat as well. She brought up the fact Earthland was restructured multiple times from its first creation. Granted the dragon king festival and the other wars had been the sole reasons for it.

"This world is roughly the same, more land though overall. This globe is more developed as well, despite magic being in its shadow. The Technology here is impressive, even though it will most likely be its demise as well."

"You talking about our computers…? Like A.I.?" Serafall asked, curious.

"Not really no, more so the destructive capabilities they've achieved in a very short time span. You might be magical and very powerful in your own right, but I doubt many can even dare survive being near a nuclear explosion."

"Surely you're not saying that you could-" Rias started before Irene started to smirk.

'"Oh my dear Rias, I have. As as Esdeath here. True the humans have unlocked their ultimate weapon, however to us Primordials it's but a feeble attempt to mimic our own strengths as younglings. Nay, infancy."

Her words were soon backed up by Esdeath, who mentioned she had blown up worlds as well in the past. Doing so was a right of passage for her siblings, Ophis of course being the one who has rewrote the history of countless worlds.

"Yet for even us, we had one who didn't care for the mayhem nor the conquest." Irene looked up to the family portrait of the Dragneel named household. "Out of all of us, no one ever thought we could beat our parents. Ever go against their will… How foolish we were."

"Did Igneel truly defeat them alone…?" Came Mikey's voice, wanting to know more about his grandfather.

"That he did Mikey. Igneel, he alone stood against the most powerful of us and won. Granted Ophis also helped against our mother and our aunt Dawn." Irene had her flashbacks of the events.

"Dawn…?" Koneko asked, curious if that was someone of great value.

"She's our mothers twin. Dusk, our mother was the most powerful dragoness among all of existence… Well till Ophis took that crown." Irene paused. "Out of the four founding dragons of existence, Jupiter, Dawn, Dusk and Pluto. Our parents and their twins."

"Jupiter.. Pluto.. Like the Roman gods?" Rias asked, finding it puzzling that their names align perfectly.

"The very same your world aptly named them. However I can attest to the fact they've never once ruled here directly. So their names being forged or reused must have been some of their other offspring's doing. Granted they are linked to the High Greek pantheon, so their similarities are well founded there." Irene continued to share the details and facts of her parents and what they'd actually would've done if they had direct involvement in this dimension.

She brought it back to how Igneel was the one that freed them all from their path of merciless conquerors.

"You could say Natsu is the spitting image of Igneel in his extreme youth. He'd do everything for his loved ones, and even defy the ones he dared once fear. Truly you girls and kids are lucky to have a king like Natsu." Esdeath said as she walked away, leaving the group to attend to other manners.

"This is just too much. People.. Err Primordials like you exist, and there's ones out there that want to clash with you. The rest of us can't even begin to see where we can fit in, let alone feel of any use." Issei started to shake, panicking a little bit before his partner came to be among them once more.

"As a fellow Primordial, I see why you'd feel that way kid. However don't look down on yourselves that much. You forget you are very young. You have plenty of time to reach higher levels, especially you Issei."

"Is that because I'm the one partnered with you…?"

"Yes and no. True my abilities will once be yours fully. However I know deep down that with you as my kin, I will return to my former mantle. And once that goal is achievable, you too will be known as a god devourer. A dragon god with such weight to his name that worlds will crumble at mere mention of your name. You can stand on your own Issei Hyoudou, and make your dream a reality."

"I'm not going to have to start calling you dad, or father am I…?" Issei blinked a few times, his head hurting from the wealth of knowledge being spoon fed to him.

"Not at the moment if you don't feel ready yet. But from here on out I'm expecting fathers day presents." The small dragon god said, making most of the room laugh, minus a certain Ice goddess. "In all honesty Issei, you will go very far in life. Having you as my kin has already made my heart warm up from centuries of isolation. Being closed off from all attachments and bonds. I-"

"YOU LITTLE BASTARD!" Wendy snapped, now knowing why her mother mentioned him the way she did, making the older blue haired woman smirk wickedly.

"You did it now Ddraig… Better fly away before my.. Our daughter has her hands on you. But to be fair, it'd be worse if I got to you first." Esdeath showed her maw, ready to feast on her much smaller mate.

Wasting no time, Ddraig bursted off at wickedly high speeds through the walls of the estate. Heading off towards the mountain range, which was home territory for the Ice dragoness. Wendy was the first to go after Ddraig, who she now knew was her 'deceased' father. Irene laughed her head off, missing the old times of when the young male dragon would mess something up and get Esdeath to ring out his lights.

"Guess I should stop the little tornado before she actually kills her father for real this time…" Esdeath said as she got up, took a stretch and walked slowly to the hole in the wall. She turned around and looked at Issei, scanning his figure up and down as if pondering a thought.

"You boy," she said, pointing her finger at him. "Will become a great son. Just make sure to get ready to learn all of our history. You're surrounded by plenty of teachers who can't wait to spill their knowledge onto you." She smirked, walked back to him and rubbed his head aggressively. "Hmph, yeah I know why you were picked now. You have a soul worthy of your position. Welcome to the family kiddo." She kissed his forehead before vanishing in thin air.

Everyone else in the room stared at the line of holes through multiple sets of walls, then a few slowly came to the realization of what was just said. Before everyone could start shouting, Natsu and Ophis had returned to see all the comotion. The two new arrivals looked at the holes and sighed, and with just a simple snap of her fingers, Ophis had fixed the issue,

Welcoming their father back, the girls rushed Natsu and jumped him for hugs. He took the blows and stayed standing with one girl in each arm, smiling at them before putting them back down. Following up, he turned to Issei who didn't know how to respond from everything dropped on him.

"I will tell you why Issei, why you were picked to be Ddraig's 'partner'."

The room grew quiet, the two males still standing having all the attention of those around.

"I-I don't know if I need to know or rather if I want to know… All I know for sure is my head is hurting a lot right now!" Issei said as he leaned back and took his seat back on the lazy boy he was in moments earlier.

"I don't recall if we ever told you, or rather what Ddraig has ever told you about himself and his past. And I'm not referring to his past wielders."

This got the devil's attention, Akeno and Rias desperately wanting to know more while the satan kept quiet. She alone already knew some of the details, just not everything. Sona noticed her older sister's facial expression, slightly shocked that she had knowledge this deep. But with a warm yet saddening smile she looked at her younger sister with an answer that was more than enough.

"Wendy had some older siblings, her one brother Helios still around though from what means is yet to be found. Her other brother, Raoul died here in this world. In fact he was the first of our family to come here. The reason Ddraig was placed into a sacred gear is because he lost most of his strength and power trying to avenge his son. I don't remember much, or the exact reason. Mother, you care to fill in from here..?" Natsu turned to Ophis who looked calmly at Issei before walking up to him placing her hand on his head.

"Originally Esdeath's mate, Ddraig was fighting against Acnologia. Their battle was immense. My brother being the power crazed coward he was, used Esdeath's kin to lure Ddraig into fighting him seriously. They indeed fought, traveling from world to world to avoid collateral damage on earthland, and other worlds that were claimed by the prior empire of ours, lest they face Jupiter in a never win battle."

"So Earth, our home was picked..?" Rias and Sona ask.

"Your world was their last stop. Acnologia fled once Ddraig wounded him greatly, however another rival took his place. Before long Ddraig was fighting his opposite, no longer able to deal with Acknologia." Ophis bent forward and looked into Issei's eyes. "However, not wanting to be overlooked already, Acnologia blasted his prey, Helios and Raoul with a powerful roar that left nothing of them nor the ground they once laid on. The bastard felt joy from the screams of his sister who had arrived late to the fate of her sons. Her roar alerted all the gods of this world to the scene. Her cries were bloody, her body was weakened and couldn't move from the ground she dropped into."

Ophis paused and looked at these kids for a moment, noticing none of them were flinching away and wanting to know every last detail. Sighing, she turned back to Issei and continued.

"Ddraig was in far worse shape, and he became uncontrollable. Truly mad with rage and pain no longer a factor in his bloodlust. His twin could not even touch him anymore, who now was too weak to continue their duel. Both white and red dragons started to fight and destroy the lands around them, endangering the spectators. They, the gods, devils and angels had united to stop the destruction of their very world. When it came to pass the strongest of the gods here, the one of the bible and his eldest son, the devil himself were sacrificed to seal the two heavenly dragons. Igneel's younger brothers, Ddrig and Albion."

"Yeah, that makes sense. I guess over all the ancients have always kept their secrets and scars to themselves." Sona says as she takes off her glasses. "So that was the true reason why our war came to a stalemate." She pondered for a few moments before the last part hit her, same with the other devils in the room.

"Yes and no, truth is the dragons interrupted the already going on battle, rather the war. Impacts and missed blows caused great damage and killed hundreds of others in their wake. The entire part of Ddraig, the red dragon emperor stealing the strength of THE GOD, is true. The power of Domination is a trait we all have, he however made the rest of the gods and non-humans learn that the hard way."

"Natsu for one uses it non-stop, don't cha big boy." Irene snickered, getting the salamander to sheepishly laugh and scratch the back of his head in slight embarrassment.

"Issei, you are in almost every way the complete copy of Raoul. Minus the hair and eyes. Your face structure, voice and even soul are exactly his, almost as if you're a perfect resurrection of him."

"That's because he is." Jenna said, looking at the boy with a stern and fierce gaze. "I've been feeling that way for a while now. I couldn't help but feel that way when I first saw him. If anyone here knows Raoul, it would be me and Yasaka."

The two younger mothers take their stance next to Ophis as they too inspect the perverted emperor. Natsu sighed and admitted he felt the same way, just not as much.

"Helios and Raoul were slightly older than us, but we also hung out a lot. Helios was always the crafty genius that Zeref looked up to. While Raoul who was younger and the same age as Zeref, was a closet pervert. He always was checking out the royal maids and maidens that worked around the castles. He so much as dared a few of the ones that were free and fair game to spend time bathing with him. The few that let him have his way, always kept him leashed up though, much to his chagrin."

"Ook… So if what you're saying is I'm like a reincarnate of this person you all knew. I have lots of similarities with him and that is why Ddraig chose me to be his partner?"

"Yes. In fact you are him, I'm sure of it. That's the only reason why Ddraig is able to come out at all, his power flows through you naturally because you are his kin. I might be powerful and all, but even I can't break his seals at all without some help from his wielder. Look and behold kid, you are part of the family whether you believe it or not." Irene shrugged, not holding back.

"We can help make sure this is true and if it is indeed the case I know how to unlock your memories baring they will be your own." Ophis said as she let go of the boy's head. "You are still Issei, and you decide your path. Be it as the Red Dragon Emperor, or your own path. All of us will respect your decision, it's your life after all." She gave him a warm motherly smile.

Issei had a rushing headache that wouldn't yield. It completely took over all his senses, causing him to drop to his knees bellowing in pain. With what seemed to be hours of pain was merely seconds before he lost consciences. Rias was the first to his side, followed by Asia. Offering them instant aid, Ophis snapped her fingers and the three teens were now in Issei's room, his bed now creased by the added bodies.

"Don't worry, he'll be fine soon enough. Most likely memories started flowing in rapidly. Poor kid can't handle it… Not that many could." Natsu said, sighing as he looked at the other devils in the room still wondering about the pervert emperor.

"The sooner Ddraig comes back, he'll be able to ease the pain for Issei." Ophis said, now taking a seat on the couch next to her grandkids. "Come here Mikey, I got something to share with you." Ophis' motherly smile returned.

Mikey did as asked, pondering what his grandmother wanted. Once face to face, Ophis led over and whispered into his ear. His sisters looked on, wondering what Ophis was telling him, noticing his tail fall behind his legs in a sadden posture. He said nothing of words, but a whimper or two. Ophis pulled him into a hug, letting him know it will be alright.

Looking up to their dad, Luna and Kunou scan his eyes, noticing he left a silent glare back, promising he'd tell them later if Mikey would want it so. Not happy with that, Luna went forward and grabbed one of Mikey's hands, reassuring him she was there for him if he wanted to let it out. Kunou remained back, watching every detail she can to maybe understand what might've been said.

"Give him time dearie, your brother has a lot on his mind right now that he'll have to face rather soon." Yasaka whispered to her daughter. The young copy of her mother looked back up, seeing that even Yasaka was worried.

The other older women in the room, Natsu's mates all started to face him as Ophis let go of the young wolf boy. With a heavy sigh Natsu now begins going over what he and his mother just went through and in deep detail how to fix an issue at their very doorstep.

"The overseer of the world's hell, Hades himself is missing. Souls have been escaping and wandering the world freely and causing chaos amongst the ranks of the humans and the supernatural." He pauses making sure everyone present is focused.

"No doubt the Family has either their hand in on this, or has picked up on it. Overall, I'm not from here nor do I know as much as some of you do here. However, after finding out how the afterlife here is rather diverse, it still remains that in terms of age and existence, Hades alone holds the crown for the most souls. A margin that isn't even a contest, as even the abrahamic religions are intertwined with the Olympans."

Ophis then took her place to speak, letting it be known very clearly the issue that is represented here at their very doorstep.

"There's a few trillion souls in the never ending well. With no limit in sight, someone tilted the well to its side, allowing it to overflow. From what my one source has informed me, Melinoe, over a thousand souls of great threat have fled before the issue was noticed and fixed. Being the daughter of Hades, she was left with the direct task of overseeing the well in her fathers sted."

"Forgive me mother, but if they did find and fix the issue, surely the mightiest of the younger olympian gods could handle the souls that left?" Jenna asked, wondering what could be of worry to them.

Mikey was the one to answer, and his voice was filled with fear and pain. Shaking he turned to face his one aunt and with some strength whipped away his tears.

"My mother's soul escaped. She's out there… I-I don't know why, but if she was able to escape, she would've regained her strength and become alive again." Yasaka and Jenna then lose all emotion.

Their sworn sister, the mother of the boy they look after as if he was their very own son, was out there again. She might be alive again… However that opened another issue of far greater threat.

"Why hasn't she come for me?!" Mikey cried, his tail slamming into the ground, breaking it as he released pressure breaking down and crying. The devils were beyond shocked at the sheer strength of the male wolf who could not be helped.

Natsu pulled him into a hug, his tail whipping him, causing deep cuts in his lower belly and arms. Trying to calm his son down, Natsu brings his hand to the back of his head and in an instant they are gone, out of the room and outside.

Ophis looks to those still there, filling them in on everything else. If Michael's mother was out there, she was the number one priority from here on out. No one would dare argue, understanding that family is the most important thing, damn be the world.

Everyone here was family, that Ophis and her mate want to make sure is well understood. They trust everyone here, and those that have left.

X_X (Dragneel residence- Forest area)

Somewhere far in the forest behind the estate, Yasaka, Jenna, Konou and Luna appear a moment afterwards. The family members gathered around Mikey, letting him feel their warmth and assuring him they are there for him. This was the moment all those present swore to themselves and each other, no one will ever hurt Michael EVER AGAIN.

The ground shook, cracks and stone rising from the sheer pressure being released. Like a boiling pot, Michael's overflowing emotions directly affected his surroundings. Scales begun to show around his eyes, very similar to how his father would use dragon force for the first time at the tower of heaven.

"We promise you little brother, we will get your mother back." Luna rested her head on top of Mikey's.

"We will find her, bring her here, and our family will be whole again." Konou kissed his cheek, tears falling down all three siblings' cheeks.

"Michael Dragneel." Natsu started, still not letting go of his boy. "You are a strong and proud warrior. A beloved brother, and son. I, as your father, will swear to you here and now that I will kill whoever did this, and get your mother back."

Mikey stopped crying, losing his strength. Shortly without much effort left in staying awake, he fell asleep in the arms of his family. On his forehead, a crestend purple moon showed up. Knowing well enough Seilahs handy work, said dragon goddess walked over from the shadows of the trees. Her face filled with sorrow and understanding.

She came over, kneeling down and taking Mikey up into her arms. She looked down at his sleeping face, his red cheeks clear from the tears he was shedding earlier. She kissed his forehead, the mark glowing before fading away.

"I will take him to his room. I'll tend to him alone, sorry girls." Seilah said without taking her eyes off the sleeping body. "I will be watching him for the next day, when he's ready we'll all take a bath with him. Surely that will cheer his spirits up before we all deal with the bastards that dare cause him harm."

Seilah returned to the estate via portal, not saying a word to Natsu or the other girls. There was no need, the message was received crystal clear. Seilah lost her temper, and that if anyone knew who her parents were, know whoever occurred this was guaranteed a death sentence.

A/N: End of chapter XIII- Thirteen

Ok so here's how it goes- I am making things blend in and fit proper so the DxD universe still fits properly. Having Issei be Wendy's resurrected "brother" is for a later tale that will be explored greatly in the next chapter that will explain even more than this chapter has already.

Ddraig being Esdeath's mate was made very clear. Being a younger brother of Igneel fills the gap in power explanation that has already been stated multiple times. The great war ending at his supposed 'entrapment' and 'death', is still accurate to the main story. However now we have a VASTLY more common sense explanation as to why he and white were fighting, as it's in their nature along with Acnologia being the bastard he was makes this fit like a perfect puzzle piece.

Natsu's harem (As-of-now): the fairies, Wendy, Sayla, Kyouka, Yasaka, Jenna, Serafall, and Rory.

Asia along with Rias are Issei's. Issei will still have some time to come to his new bloodline, and perhaps add even other girls yet mentioned.

Laxus as of now- Laxus will be having a small harem, going to have to wait for that.

PS: Don't like it? Sorry. Also to the guest's to this fanfic, don't leave questions since I can't answer them for you. Create an account if you want to receive details.
