She winced, regret evident. Gaara tilted his head, interested, and Akira licked her lips, mouth a desert.

"I could have." Panic leaving her, the reality of her crime hung in the air. If she had hurt him, compensation would be demanded.

Her heart thundered; her fingers felt slick on the doorknob. Mint eyes stayed steady on her, and she steadied her gaze back.

"You did not hurt me," He repeated, and Akira shifted, eyes searching his. "Have tea with me."
