Chapter 34: Conversations With Tea
She had never heard such a loud silence. The tea was delicious, and he looked smug at her enjoyment. She wanted to scowl but if this was her penance⦠there were worse things.
Gaara simply sat with her waiting. His patience had to have an end, and she was willing to wait for it.
"People do not touch you." Her cup rattled on the plate from her shudder.
Ah, there it was, her head tilted toward him.
"Is their fear valid?" She pulled back, the liquid in her cup splashed but stayed contained. She searched his eyes again, suspicious.
"Yes."
