TEASER: Thinking that Jirachi is safe from harm, Tristan and Hillary get some sleep in Butler and Diane's bus. Suddenly, Brodie kidnaps Jirachi and disguises himself as Butler! Will our heroes be able to give Butler the benefit of the doubt and save Jirachi from Brodie?
Chapter 39: THE WISH MAKER CAPER! PART 2
(Music Cue: Groudon's Theme)
What began as an adventure in peaceful Forina turned into a meeting with a former magician named Butler and his girlfriend Diane, who helped escort our heroes by bus to their destination.
Upon arrival, they learned about the legendary Pokémon Jirachi, who stays awake for seven nights once every thousand years.
After a good night's sleep, they discovered a rare Pokémon Egg, which Tristan put in his backpack for safekeeping. But everyone was surprised to see that Tristan was able to bring back firewood so quickly, and took his backpack with him, or so they thought.
After Tristan came back again, it was evident that whoever came back with the firewood first wasn't Tristan at all, but a cleverly disguised imposter!
Everyone set off to find the imposter when they were suddenly attacked by Absol, who mistook Tristan as the thief who stole the rare Pokémon Egg.
After Absol was ambushed in a surprise attack by the imposter, he revealed his true identity as Brodie, a member of Team Magma who was known as 'the Man with 1,000 Faces.'
A brief battle ensued, and Tristan managed to get his backpack and the Egg back safe and sound as everyone made their getaway.
Our heroes' patience was finally rewarded later that evening as they watched the birth of the Legendary Pokémon Jirachi right before their eyes.
Now, with Brodie still after Jirachi, what will his next plan be? Who will he disguise himself as next? And will our heroes be able to protect Jirachi from him! Stay tuned and find out!
(Music Cue: Kanto Title Card)
"Astounding!" said Butler that night. "Who would've thought that a Jirachi would hatch out of a rare Pokémon Egg like this one?"
"Nobody did," replied Hillary. "And it stays awake for only seven nights once every thousand years."
"I wonder if it can really grant wishes just like the Pokédex said," added Tristan.
Jirachi heard the word and telepathically imitated it. Wishes? What are...wishes?
"Who knows?" put in Diane. "Maybe it can."
"Well, let's test it out," suggested Hillary. "Then we'll find out for sure whether it can grant wishes or not. Tristan, since you're the one who saved Jirachi first, I'll let you have the honor of making the first wish. It's the least I can do after what happened today."
Butler and Diane nodded in agreement.
Pikachu and Togepi seemed pleased with the idea.
"Well, okay," smiled Tristan. "If you put it that way, I'll make the first wish. Hmmmm...I wish for...a chocolate shake!"
"What a surprise, Tristan," chuckled Hillary. "You can never get enough of those things."
Chocolate...shake, repeated Jirachi. Okay! Jirachi floated up as its tags glowed. Then they stopped glowing just as suddenly as they started.
"So, where's the chocolate shake?" wondered Diane.
"Didn't it work?" added Hillary.
"Hmm, guess not," replied Tristan.
It was then that Butler noticed something and pointed out. "Look over there, in front of Tristan!"
Sure enough, there was something familiar that Tristan recognized almost immediately.
"That's a chocolate shake, all right!" smiled Tristan. "My wish came true! I'd know one anywhere!"
"All right, I wish for chocolate shakes for everybody!" announced Hillary. "Since Tristan wished for a chocolate shake, why don't we all have one?"
"Boy, that sounds great!" agreed Butler. "Count me in!"
"Me, too," added Diane.
Chocolate shakes! Chocolate shakes for everybody! repeated Jirachi as it floated up. Its tags glowed five more times, and low and behold, five more chocolate shakes appeared before Hillary, Butler, Diane, Pikachu, and Togepi.
"This is great, Jirachi, thank you!" smiled Hillary.
"But what about Jirachi?" wondered Tristan. "It didn't get any."
It was true, for Jirachi suddenly felt sad for being left out.
"Now what?" wondered Butler.
"Poor Jirachi," sighed Diane. "It must've wanted a bite to eat."
Tristan got an idea. "I'll give Jirachi my chocolate shake."
This surprised Hillary. "Are you sure, Tristan? I mean, it's your favorite, right?"
"I know it is, but I can't stand seeing Jirachi sad like this." And he handed Jirachi his chocolate shake. "There you go, Jirachi. It's all yours."
Jirachi was so elated by Tristan's generosity that it decided to grant Tristan an extra chocolate shake.
"Wow, look at that, Tristan!" smiled Hillary.
Sure enough, there was another fresh chocolate shake right in front of Tristan.
"Wow!" gasped Tristan. "Thanks so much for the extra chocolate shake, Jirachi!"
Thank you, Tristan, replied Jirachi as it happily dug in.
"Jirachi seems to like it," chuckled Butler.
"It likes them almost as much as Tristan does," agreed Hillary.
And with everybody happy again, they all dug in and enjoyed their chocolate shakes, little realizing that Brodie was just about to dig in to his desert of several chocolate shakes a short distance away.
"Mmm, putting on that Tristan disguise was a tough job, Ditto. But we'll each dig into three chocolate shakes as a reward," said Brodie.
His Ditto agreed.
Brodie gasped, for he noticed that they were gone.
"Our chocolate shakes!" exclaimed Brodie. "What's happened to them?!"
His Ditto was just as surprised.
Brodie then got angry. "Whoever did this is gonna pay dearly!" It was then that he heard voices through the trees. He peered behind them and saw Tristan, Hillary, Butler, Diane, and the Pokémon enjoying the increasing number of chocolate shakes immensely.
Jirachi had decided to increase the number of chocolate shakes after the first six.
"Wow, Jirachi! Look at all those chocolate shakes!" smiled Tristan jubilantly. "I feel like I've died and gone to ice cream heaven!"
Pikachu agreed excitedly.
"Well, we'd better enjoy them while we have them," said Hillary.
(Music Cue: Butler's Tenacity)
Brodie seethed in anger. "So, Jirachi's the one behind all this!" And he jumped out. "Those are my chocolate shakes! Give them back!"
"It's Brodie!" everyone gasped for they saw him.
"How'd you find us?" demanded Butler.
"I saw those chocolate shakes disappear just as we were about to eat them," explained Brodie. Then he saw Jirachi. "Ah, hello there, cutie pie. How about you come with me for a little trip of our own?"
Jirachi cringed and tried to hide itself in Tristan's arms as Brodie charged right at it.
"Give me my shakes!" yelled Brodie.
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt attack!" shouted Tristan.
Pikachu unleashed a powerful yellow bolt of electricity at Brodie and Ditto, scoring a direct hit on them that caused an explosion, creating a giant black cloud of smoke.
"That ought to do it," said Tristan.
"Let's hurry before the smoke clears," advised Butler.
"Okay, follow me!" ordered Diane.
And together, Tristan and Hillary followed Butler and Diane and made their escape with Jirachi in tow.
Brodie and Ditto shielded their faces from the smoke until it cleared. But when they looked, they noticed that everyone had disappeared.
"So, you think you can get away that easily, do you?" smirked Brodie. "We'll just see about that, won't we? Come on, Ditto, we're going after them!"
Ditto nodded and jumped onto Brodie's shoulder.
Then Brodie took out a jetpack, placed it on his back, and took off into the night sky to chase after Tristan, Hillary, Butler, and Diane. "Come out, come out, wherever you are!" he called in a singsong voice. But unfortunately for him, the forests below were so thick that he lost track of them "Huh. If nothing else, they're sure good at running. Well, I'll come up with a plan to steal that Jirachi one way or another." Having had enough of chasing after Jirachi, he turned around and sped off into the night.
Meanwhile, everyone kept on running toward a safe place as fast as they could. Then they saw a familiar object a short distance away.
"There's the bus!" said Tristan.
"Good, let's hurry and get on board," replied Butler urgently.
And everyone got into the bus as quick as a flash.
A few minutes later, everyone managed to catch their breath.
"This is all my fault," sighed Tristan sadly.
"What do you mean, big bro?" asked Hillary.
"I should never have wished for that chocolate shake. If I hadn't done that in the first place, Brodie wouldn't have chased after us."
"Don't blame yourself, Tristan. I wanted everyone to have one, too."
"I don't think anyone is to blame for this," said Butler reassuringly. "Besides, I have reason to believe that we're far enough from Brodie to get some sleep."
"He's right," agreed Diane. "Why don't we rest up? And then we'll find a way to keep Jirachi safe. Meanwhile, we should be safe here for the rest of the night."
Everyone settled down to sleep after Diane's suggestion.
Jirachi, feeling the most comfortable between Tristan and Hillary floated down next to them and fell fast asleep.
During the night, a mysterious figure crept inside the bus, gently picked up Jirachi, and quietly made his way back outside without waking anyone up. "This is too easy," he whispered to himself.
But before he was able to close the door, Pikachu pricked its ears up and heard something. Then it opened its eyes and saw Jirachi gone. It then rushed out of the bus, gave chase to the mysterious figure, and prepared to zap him with a Thunderbolt.
"Stop right there, rodent!" the figure ordered.
(Music Cue: Butler's Theme)
Pikachu stopped dead in its tracks.
"One volt out of you, and Jirachi gets it, too."
Pikachu gasped, for it knew it couldn't hurt Jirachi.
"Now surrender, and don't make any sudden moves."
Pikachu reluctantly stopped its sparks and allowed itself to be bound and gagged by Brodie.
Jirachi slowly opened its eyes and saw itself being captured. Help! Help!
But the figure bound and gagged Jirachi in an effort to silence it. However, little did he know that Jirachi spoke telepathically.
Butler slowly opened his eyes and was the first to hear Jirachi's cries for help. He rushed out of the bus and confronted the figure. "Hey! Let Jirachi go!" He then saw who he was confronting. "Brodie?! How'd you find us?"
"Ah, hello Butler," smirked Brodie. "It's so nice of you to drop by. You'll do for my next disguise." He quickly bound and gagged Butler and dragged him into some nearby bushes. Then he put on his Butler disguise.
Hillary slowly opened her eyes and also heard Jirachi's cries for help. She burst awake at once. "Jirachi!" She rushed out of the bus and saw Pikachu all tied up. "Pikachu! What happened to you?" Then she turned to the intruder. To her surprise, she saw a familiar figure. "Butler? What are you doing out here?"
"Ah, hello, Hillary," smirked the fake Butler. "It's a pleasure to see you out and about. You're just in time to see me make off with my prize." He then revealed Jirachi, much to Hillary's horror.
Hillary, help me! cried Jirachi.
"Jirachi!" exclaimed Hillary. "Let it go, Butler!"
"No," smirked the fake Butler. "I'm just getting started with it. You see, Jirachi's ultimate power will help me get what I've long wished for." And he snickered evilly.
"You...you deceived us!" accused Hillary.
"Nah, I never deceived you," corrected the fake Butler. "I just never told you the complete truth, that's all. For after my first encounter with Jirachi, I knew I'd have to wait for another one to come along. And that's where you and Tristan came in. So thank you for doing all the hard work for me and bringing this Jirachi into the world. Now I can finally fulfill my lifelong wish for Groudon. And when I do, I'll be able to get my last laugh on Team Magma once and for all!" And he laughed profusely.
Hillary seethed in anger. "You...you fiend! I knew we shouldn't have trusted you!"
Back inside the bus, Diane woke up to all the commotion and rushed over to where Tristan was sleeping. "Tristan, wake up!" she implored. "Something's happened to Jirachi!"
Tristan slowly opened his eyes and saw that Diane was right. "Oh, no! Jirachi's gone! And so is Pikachu!"
And together, they flew out of the bus and confronted the fake Butler, making them very surprised.
"Butler?" gasped Diane. "But why?"
"Ah, hello, Diane," smirked the fake Butler. "Looks like you and Tristan are just in time to see me make my perfect getaway."
Diane was shocked at first, but her shock slowly turned to anger. "Butler...I thought...how could you do this to us after everything we've been through together?"
"I just needed some quality time with Jirachi one-on-one," replied the fake Butler. "Is that so wrong?"
"Hillary, where's Pikachu?" asked Tristan.
"It's over there next to Butler!" answered Hillary as she pointed out.
Sure enough, Pikachu was still bound and gagged next to the fake Butler.
"Pikachu!" exclaimed Tristan. "What did you do to it, Butler?"
"I just needed some quiet time while I take Jirachi for myself," answered the fake Butler as he picked Pikachu up and freed it from its bonds. "Here, you can keep that little rodent of yours." And he threw it into Tristan's arms.
"Pikachu, are you okay?" asked Tristan.
Pikachu nodded weakly.
"We've gotta save Jirachi from him," whispered Hillary.
"I know, but what can we do?" agreed Tristan.
Diane was very angry. "All this time, I thought you were over trying to make Groudon after the way you made a manifestation of pure evil. But now I can see what kind of person you really are...a madman who won't stop until he gets what he wants."
It was then that Tristan sensed something in the fake Butler. Something tells me that this guy isn't really Butler at all. I don't know why, but Butler's not the kind of person who would never torture Jirachi after he redeemed himself. Suddenly, he saw some bushes rustle nearby. "Let's check it out, Pikachu," he whispered aloud.
And together, he and Pikachu quickly and carefully snuck away to see what it was. They peered over the bushes to see a familiar figure who was also bound and gagged.
"Butler!" gasped Tristan. "Hang on, we'll get you out!" And he quickly set to work to free him, but the ropes were too tight for him to manage on his own. "Pikachu, you've gotta help me out. Cut the ropes with Iron Tail."
Pikachu nodded and jumped up as its tail lit up. Then it thrust it toward the ropes, slicing them into pieces and freeing Butler from his bonds.
Seconds later, Tristan carefully removed the tape from his mouth. "Are you okay, Butler?"
"Yes, thanks to you, I am," answered Butler. "We've gotta get back to the bus and confront that imposter before everyone thinks I've turned evil."
And they set off at once.
Back at the bus, the fake Butler was just about ready to make his getaway. "Well, it's been fun, but now it's time for me to go. So, it's time to say bye-bye."
"Hold it!" shouted a voice.
Everyone turned to see Butler rushing onto the scene with Tristan and Pikachu right behind him.
"No!" grunted the fake Butler. "He's been set free!"
Diane turned towards the real Butler. "Butler? But I thought...oh, I'm sorry I doubted you."
"Me, too, Butler," added Hillary.
"Never mind that now," replied Butler. "We've got to rescue Jirachi from that madman."
The fake Butler grinned and chuckled gleefully. "Well, I'll give you this much. You're quicker than I thought." And he threw off his disguise and revealed his true identity.
"It's Brodie!" everyone gasped.
Pikachu and Togepi were most surprised.
(Music Cue: Jirachi Rescue)
"The secret's out," snickered Brodie. "Now it's time to go." And he put on a nearby jetpack and began to take off into the night sky with Jirachi still clutched tightly in his arms.
"I won't let you get away!" shouted Butler as he threw a Poké Ball.
A familiar quadrupedal Dragon Pokémon emerged from the white light that shot out of it and gave a mighty roar.
"A Salamence!" gasped Hillary.
"A secret weapon Butler's hidden all this time!" added Tristan.
Butler quickly hopped on Salamence's back. "Salamence, after him!" he ordered.
Instantly, Salamence took off after the fleeing Brodie.
"Come on, we've gotta follow him!" advised Hillary urgently.
"I know just who can help us," agreed Tristan as he gently touched his Silver Wing, which glowed brightly.
An instant later, two loud shrills were heard coming from the night sky as two familiar Eon Pokémon landed right next to him, Hillary, and Diane.
"Latios and Latias!" cried Hillary excitedly. "Great idea, Tristan! They even grew a little bigger since the last time we saw them, which means I can finally ride on Latias!" She and Togepi then hopped on her back.
Tristan and Pikachu hopped on Latios' back with Pikachu perched on his shoulder and commanded, "Let's go!"
And together, they took off into the night sky to follow Butler and Salamence.
"Be careful, guys!" called Diane.
Meanwhile, Butler and Salamence were hot on Brodie's tail.
"Let Jirachi go, now!" ordered Butler.
"Not when I'm so close to success!" retorted Brodie.
Just then, two loud shrills were heard from behind.
Butler and Salamence turned to see Latios and Latias approaching with Tristan and Hillary riding on them. "Tristan! Hillary!" he cried excitedly.
"Don't worry, Butler, we'll help you catch him!" Hillary assured him.
"Thanks!" replied Butler. "I could use the assistance."
"All right, ready, sis?" asked Tristan.
"Ready!" agreed Hillary. "Let's do it, Latias!"
Latias shrilled affirmatively, and in just a few seconds she caught up with Brodie.
"Let's go, too, Latios," advised Tristan.
Latios also agreed and attempted to surround Brodie on the other side.
"Golbat, let's go!" shouted Brodie as he threw a Poké Ball.
Golbat emerged from the white light that shot out of it right in front of Latios and Latias, stopping them dead in their tracks.
"Now, Golbat, Haze attack!" ordered Brodie.
Golbat unleashed a thick, black cloud of haze from its mouth, enveloping Tristan, Hillary, and their Pokémon friends and causing them to choke.
Brodie's laughter could be heard going further and further away from them.
"Watch out!" warned Butler. "That haze is dangerous! Salamence, help them!"
Wasting no time, Salamence flew right in front of Latios and Latias and flapped its wings furiously, clearing the smoke away.
Tristan and Hillary sighed with relief.
"Thanks, Butler, we owe you," smiled Tristan.
"I'll take care of Golbat while you two catch up to Butler and Jirachi," suggested Butler. "Now go!"
"Okay," agreed Hillary. "After him, Latias!"
"Latios, you, too!" commanded Tristan.
Latios and Latias shrilled affirmatively and flew after Brodie as fast as their wings would carry them.
Brodie chuckled gleefully as he kept flying on his jetpack with Jirachi still clutched tightly in his arms. "Now those losers will never catch up to me."
"Stop!"
Brodie turned to see Tristan and Hillary, flying on Latios and Latias, respectively, rapidly closing in on him. "Impossible! How did they get past my Golbat's Haze attack?!"
"Let Jirachi go right now!" demanded Tristan.
"Or what?" retorted Brodie.
"Or you'll be sorry, that's what!" replied Hillary.
Then Tristan and Hillary commanded, "Psychic attack!"
Latios and Latias' eyes glowed, causing Brodie to glow also.
Brodie was surprised to find out that he was held firmly in their telekinetic grip. "What's this?" he grunted. "My body's stuck!" Then he felt his grip on Jirachi loosening up little by little, and in just a few seconds, Jirachi managed to wriggle free. "No!"
Jirachi excitedly flew and landed on Latios' back right in front of Tristan.
"Jirachi, are you okay?" asked Tristan.
Jirachi gave a chuckle. I am now, thanks to you.
"Blast you all!" grunted Brodie. "I'll get you for this!" And he turned tail and flew off into the night.
"Good, and this time, don't come back!" shouted Hillary. Then she turned to Tristan. "I hope we've seen the last of him."
"Me too," agreed Tristan, "for Jirachi's sake.
Pikachu and Togepi were hopeful as well.
Suddenly, a Flamethrower blast stretched into the sky far below.
"What's that?" gasped Hillary.
(Music Cue: Flygon's Appearance (as heard in "A Cacturne for the Worse"))
To everyone's surprise, a familiar quadrupedal Dragon Pokémon appeared and streaked toward them with a familiar adversary riding on it.
"It's Brodie!" exclaimed Tristan.
"And a Salamence!" added Hillary.
"Hello again," smirked Brodie. "I told you I'd get you for the stunt you two pulled. Now if you'll be so kind as to hand Jirachi over to me, I'll be on my way."
"No way!" retorted Hillary. "Jirachi is staying with us!"
Latios and Latias shrilled in agreement as they stood in Brodie and his Salamence's way.
"We've gotta get away from him," advised Tristan. "Okay, Latios, fly like the wind."
"You, too, Latias, I know you can do it," added Hillary.
Latios and Latias flew up and turned 180 degrees. Then they flew in the opposite direction at breakneck speed.
"You get back here!" shouted Brodie. "After them!"
His Salamence gave a roar and flew after Latios and Latias.
But Latios and Latias' astounding speed gave Brodie no chance of catching up to them.
Even Butler and his Salamence were very surprised to see Latios and Latias flying by like shots. "Whoa!"
"Hey, Butler! We got Jirachi back!" called Hillary.
"That's great! Way to go!" commended Butler. Suddenly, he heard a loud roar rapidly closing in on him. He gasped in horror.
"Butler's in trouble!" exclaimed Hillary. "Latias, Mist Ball!"
"Latios, Luster Purge!" added Tristan.
Latios and Latias fired indigo and teal orbs of energy, respectively, at Brodie and his Salamence, scoring direct hits, thus saving Butler and his Salamence from the incoming attack.
Brodie screamed as he fell while his Salamence, unable to resist the damage from the combined attack, was knocked out instantly as it transformed back into Ditto and fell right after him.
Both crash landed in the treetops below.
"Phew! That was close," sighed Butler.
"Looks like we're even now, Butler," smiled Hillary.
"Looks that way," agreed Butler. "Thank you both."
"Don't thank us, thank them," replied Tristan.
Latios and Latias gave shrills of delight as they and their friends celebrated their victory.
Butler gave a genuine smile. "You're all the best. Now let's get back to Diane."
Meanwhile, Brodie and his Ditto were moaning after they crashed. Suddenly, they found themselves being confronted by a group of angry resident Pokémon and cringed in fear.
"Uh, wanna see me and Ditto imitate any of you?" asked Brodie hopefully.
(Music Cue: Exeggutor & Oddish Eyecatch)
The Pokémon charged straight at them.
Brodie, wanting to avoid any pain from their incoming attack, quickly got out his jetpack and took off into the sky, carrying his defeated Ditto in his arms as furious groups of Swablu, Altaria, and Vibrava chased him away. "You're just jealous just 'cause you can't imitate like I do!" his terrified voice echoed as he disappeared into the night.
The next morning, everyone had gotten a restful night's sleep and were enjoying a nice breakfast.
"This is great once again, Tristan," smiled Diane. "Even the Pokémon seem to be enjoying it."
Sure enough, Pikachu, Togepi, Latios, Latias, and Jirachi were all enjoying their meals immensely.
"After that big adventure with Brodie, I really can't blame them," chuckled Tristan.
"That's for sure," added Hillary.
(Music Cue: Jirachi's Lullaby (full version))
After everyone finished their breakfast and cleaned up, they got ready to head out.
Tristan? Hillary?
Tristan and Hillary turned toward Jirachi.
"What is it, Jirachi?" asked Tristan.
I'm getting so sleepy. I know it's only been a short night, but I hope you'll remember me.
"Of course we will, Jirachi," replied Hillary. "We'll miss you a whole lot."
"I don't know if this wish can be granted, but I wish to remember our new friend Jirachi forever and ever," said Tristan hopefully.
"Me, too, Tristan."
"Hold on," said Butler. "It just so happens that I've got a camera. We can get a bon voyage shot of all of us together with Jirachi."
"Yeah!" smiled Tristan.
"Great idea, Butler," agreed Diane.
"Sure, I'm up for some pictures," added Hillary.
"Okay, I'll go get my camera and tripod." And he hurried into the bus to grab what he needed. In a few seconds, he emerged with what he had been looking for and set them up. "Okay, everybody, get into position and smile for the camera."
Everyone got into their proper places with Latios and Latias smiling in the back while Tristan, Hillary, Diane, Pikachu, Togepi, and Jirachi smiled out front.
Then Butler pushed a button on his camera and hurried next to Diane. "Say 'wish makers!'"
"Wish makers!"
SNAP!
The picture was taken and Butler made copies for all his human friends. "This is to remember our great adventure."
"This is great, Butler, thank you!" said Tristan.
Butler gave a genuine laugh. "Now that rings a bell, doesn't it?"
"Oh, this is lovely," replied Diane as she and Butler embraced.
Pikachu, Togepi, Latios, and Latias were thrilled at how it turned out.
Thank you, everyone! smiled Jirachi after it saw the photo. I loved every minute of our adventure together! And I'll always remember all of you! Call me whenever you need me! And Jirachi began to glow, folded its streamers and covered its body with them.
"Bye, Jirachi!" called Tristan and Hillary as they waved to it. "See you again soon!"
Pikachu and Togepi waved as well.
Then Jirachi transformed into a glowing purple crystalline cocoon and disappeared into the ground, causing it to glow like magic.
Everyone gasped in awe as it and Forina's surrounding landscape did so.
"Have a good sleep, Jirachi," whispered Butler to himself. "And have pleasant dreams." Then he and Butler embraced one another as they proudly looked on.
Tristan felt a little sad after Jirachi left, but he took out his picture and looked at it. "Sleep well, Jirachi," he said to himself. "I know we'll meet again."
Latios and Latias, seeing the glowing landscape, decided to leave for their next adventure and gave loud shrills to signal their departure.
"Bye, Latios! Bye, Latias!" called Hillary.
"Take care!" added Tristan.
Pikachu and Togepi waved their goodbyes as well.
And everyone waved until Latios and Latias were out of sight.
Everyone just stood there watching proudly as Forina's landscape continued to sparkle and glow beautifully.
Butler and Diane kept on embracing each other as they proudly looked at the scores of Pokémon flying and living free as they should be.
"You know, Tristan," said Hillary, "even though it's fun to make wishes, I learned that we have to make our own dreams come true. Wishing would just take the fun out of it. So I'm going to work hard to get into the Grand Festival!"
Togepi eagerly nodded and trilled.
"You're right, sis," agreed Tristan. "And we're gonna train hard to get into the Hoenn League. Right, Pikachu?"
Pikachu excitedly and nodded affirmatively.
And so, having protected Jirachi from the clutches of the evil Brodie, our heroes can look forward to the many new adventures that are ahead as they continue their journey through Hoenn. I bet you're wishing for more excitement, right? Well, you'll get your wish...if you simply stay tuned!
