AUTHOR'S NOTE: Sorry this took so long but anyway this fic will be on hold for the time being. I promise I will get to work on part 2 eventually

In the land of Rainbonia, four brave warriors band together to rescue the fair Princess of the Ivory Kingdom from the clutches of the evil Red Wizard.

Sir Blue the brave knight.

Lord Green the blind Paladin.

Orange, king of the Dwarven Empire.

And Purple the cunning rogue.

The heroes traveled far and wide, overcoming many obstacles along their path.

Crossing perilous landscapes, Battling mighty foes, and garnering many treasures. Although there were constant struggles along the way they pulled through together as a team.

Finally they arrive at the Red wizard's lair that laid at the heart of the Malevolent Swamp.

"Foolish heroes!" Said the Red Wizard, standing between the warriors and the cage where the Princess stood awaiting rescue. "Your puny forces are no match for my dark power! What say you?"

"This is so stupid." Said Sir Blue.

"Oh come on Blue! Act the part!" Said Red in frustration, wearing a wizard's cap. He gathered everyone together to play DnD, assigning roles to everyone. Even getting them to wear costumes that suit their characters. Blue donned a plastic knight's helmet, in place of his yellow crown, and armor with a fake sword, Green wore a cape and wielded a cardboard shield, Purple had a discarded hood, and Orange had on a fake beard, helmet, and held a plastic axe.

Yet no one seemed to be having fun.

"Yeah, Red…" spoke Purple. "When you suggested 'game night' I wasn't expecting something so… geeky."

"You made me a paladin," questioned Green, "what even is a paladin anyway?"

"Personally I just came for the snacks." Added Orange, wolfing down a bowl of pretzels.

"And I've been sitting here for the past two hours waiting to take a turn!" Complained White, who sat in a corner behind Red, donning a pink princess hat, which hid her halo. "Why'd you make me a princess in the first place? If anything I should be a sorceress or an archer!"

"You're in captivity," said Red, "you'll get a turn once the others free you. Anyway Blue roll."

"I roll… to stop playing altogether." Said Blue, tossing the multi sided dice, which landed on 40. "Welp, that does it. I'm out."

"Me too." Said everyone else. Removing their costumes.

"Agh wait guys!" Whined Red but everyone ignored him and left. Orange taking the snack bowl with him.

Red stood up angrily gathering his board and game pieces before storming to his lab, fuming to himself.

How dare they, don't they understand that dnd is more than just a game? If he were a real wizard in the land of fantasy he'd show them.

He entered his lab, still grumbling to himself. Failing to see the cord on the ground, when he passed by a random machine giving off an iridescent blue light, causing him to trip and inexplicably throw the game into the light.

The light flashed and the machine shook as it read the contents of the game all of a sudden a wave of white light expanded, engulfing the room with Red in it, but it didn't stop there, the wave kept growing as it started to overtake the halls, the rooms, the entire building with everyone inside.

Blue's head spun, his eyes opened as the light died down.

"Ugh, what happened?" He groaned, picking himself up from the ground, finding himself in a vast forest. "What? Where am I?" He noticed that he was wearing a helmet, in place of his crown, and a suit of armor. Only this time they weren't plastic like before, next to him was a sword, a real one, that laid in the grass. He picked it up and observed it in utter fascination.

"Blue!" Called a voice.

Blue turned to see Green emerge from nearby foliage, dressed in a paladin's attire, and brandishing a beautiful shield.

"Green?" Said Blue, "What's happening?"

"I don't know, but I think we may have been sent to another world somehow. This definitely isn't the playplace."

Suddenly a random scroll fell at their feet.

"Huh? What's this?" Blue bent forward to pick up the parchment to read it.

"What's it say?" Asked Green.

"The fair princess of the Ivory kingdom has been captured by the evil Red wizard," Blue read, detecting a sense of familiarity. "You, as heroes, must band together as a legion to save her. Looks we're in Red's game."

"Agh, figured he might be behind all this, But how?"

"I dunno, but looks we're gonna have to play the game through in order to get home." Blue continued to read the scroll, "In order to proceed with your quest, you must tread forward through the enchanted forest, I'm guessing that's where we are right now." Suddenly an arrow illuminated above them and pointed toward a random path. "And it looks like that's the direction we gotta take, c'mon!"

Meanwhile in the malevolent swamp.

Red looked around, stunned at what the accident had done to him and the playplace. He stood in the middle of what appeared to be the lair of an evil wizard and wore a stylish maroon and plum sorcerer's outfit and cloak, complete with a horned headwear, and wielded a magic staff with a blue sphere on top.

Testing his new power, he fired a spell from his staff at a random rock nearby, blasting it to pieces.

"Spectacular!" He said excitedly.

"Red!" Called a voice. Red turned to see a large, gilded, prison where inside stood White, hands grasping the bars, wearing a flowing, beige, gown, with black lining around the collar and waist, and a gold circlet sitting over her brow. "What's going on here? Let me out!"

"It would seem that the accident in my lab has caused the play place to transform into the land of DnD. I was frustrated when you and everyone else refused to play along with the game when I had accidentally threw the game into the reality warping device that I was still testing, it seemed to have read the details of the game and shaped everything into the exact detail of the land of Rainbonia, including everyone inside."

"Well if that's the case then would you mind letting me out of here?"

Red thought for a moment, mischief clouding his thoughts.

"No," he said, slyly, "If the playplace has been warped then it could only mean that the others are on their way to rescue you, just like in the plot." He gave a sinister chuckle, "this oughta show them that DnD is more than just a silly game."

"Red, don't do this. Let me out this instant!"

Rather than comply, Red, with a snap of his "fingers", conjured an invisible, noise canceling, one way, curtain that wrapped around the prison. Hiding it and White from sight. That way she wouldn't be seen or heard.

"Now," Said Red, approaching what appeared to be a large crystal ball. "If I could just pinpoint their location." He waved his hand over the ball, purple smoke swirling inside before revealing the image of Blue and Green pursuing their path.

"Ah," Red said. "Looks like they've just gotten started. Let's make things a bit more interesting shall we?" He casted a spell, conjuring up a massive beast to block their path.

"I sure hope White and the others are okay," said Green, worriedly.

"Just hang in there Green," said Blue, "We'll find them soon enough."

Suddenly a puff of smoke burst in front of them from which a large one-eyed beast wielding a club appeared. Letting out a ferocious roar at the two who stood trembling in intimidation.

"Whoa! What is that thing!" Cried Blue.

Another random scroll appeared all of a sudden, Blue picked it up and read. "A giant, one eyed, orc blocks your path, do you wish to engage in combat or turn back?"

"I say we fight!" Suggested Green, "No monster's gonna keep me from saving White!"

"Yeah, you're right!" At that A new passage on the scroll appeared. "To attack the beast, roll a number between 13 and 20 to make the first strike." At that a 20 sided die magically appeared.

Blue took it and rolled. 10.

"Uh-oh."

The orc raised its club and struck Blue, sending him flying into a nearby tree.

"Blue!" Cried Green. The orc set its sight on him next, about ready to strike when Green grabbed the die. "I… I roll to block with my shield!" He rolled, landing on a 15.

The orc swung its club, making to crush Green, who held his shield up. As soon as the club struck against its surface, it suddenly got deflected, comedically bouncing back right into the orc's face, stunning it.

Blue, collected himself and rose back to his feet. Seeing his chance, he took the die again, "I roll to finish off this beast!" he cried before rolling, miraculously landing on a 19. He suddenly felt stronger as soon as he landed on the number, before Blue knew it, he suddenly leapt into the air with his sword toward the beast, slashing it across the its throat.

The orc fell with a thud, slain before fading out of existence.

"We did it!" Celebrated Blue.

A set of numbers unexpectedly appeared above their heads that were at first on 000 only to increase. Green; pts. 007. Blue; pts. 010.

"We must've gained points for that!" Blue stated excitedly, the points above him suddenly switched to 'level 1' which became 'level 2'. "Whoa check it out! I'm now a level 2 knight!"

The numbers vanished before a scroll appeared again.

"You've slain the orc," Blue read, "Behind him stands a two way fork in the road; the left path leads to the dark, haunted, forest and the right path leads to the mountains where the dwarven empire resides. Roll a number between 1 and 10 to go left or a number between 11 and 20 to go right." Blue gulped for a moment, hoping for the latter, as he rolled the dice. 12. Blue sighed in relief as he and Green went right

Red glared, angry that his orc had been so easily defeated, but no matter. It was but a mere Level 2 monster anyway, so of course they would get lucky.

Blue and Green find themselves wandering the trail through the mountains before arriving at the entrance to the dwarven empire.

"Okay, now what?" Asked Blue gazing up at the drawn bridge to the entrance. At his words, another scroll appeared.

"You stand at the entrance of the dwarven empire. The guards ask of your reasoning for you arrival."

"Who goes there!" Called a voice from atop the wall, "State your business!"

"Um… we are but humble travelers here on official business!" Blue called back, "Please if you will allow us access to your city we won't remain for long!" A new passage appeared in the scroll in Blue's hands.

"To enter the dwarven empire, roll a 12 or higher for the guards to lower the bridge."

He took the dice, blowing on it for luck, before rolling. 14. "Yes!"

At that the guards lowered the bridge allowing the two access inside.

The kingdom was vast, stone and wood buildings crafted masterfully surrounded the town square, the clanging of the blacksmith's hammer and rickety, horse drawn, carts rolling about the cobbled road sounded in the air along with the shouts of merchants at their stands making to sell their goods to the public. At the very edge stood a massive palace of gold and marble decorated with orange banners.

"Woah!" Said Blue in amazement, "this place is huge!"

"I wonder if the others are nearby," said Green.

"Well," started Blue, "from what I can remember, Orange was the king of the dwarven empire. So he should be in the castle."

Red watched as the two made their way to the Dwarven Empire. A scheme coming to mind as he conjured another summoning spell.

Time for this empire to fall.

The guards opened the doors of the castle, allowing Blue and Green to enter the dining hall. Where they find their good friend, Orange, sitting at the end of an enormous table, chowing down on a sumptuous meal of meat, fruit, bread, and much more. A beard, stained with sauce and juices, hung from his chin and a crown was donned on his head.

"Orange!" Called Blue. The lizard looked up from his meal to see his friends.

"Guys!" He said excitedly, leaving the table. "Check it I'm totally a king now! I can eat what I want, I get to boss everyone around, this place is awesome!"

"There's no time to be fooling around," stated Blue, "Red's trapped us in his game and we have to win it in order to get home."

"We just have to find Purple and get to the swamp to beat the Red wizard somehow." added Green.

"Aw, do we have to?" Whined Orange.

Their conversation ran short when a sudden crash, shaking up the castle, caught everyone's attention.

"Me lord!" Called a dwarf guard, "the goblin horde is raiding the empire! We need orders now!"

"Whu? How-?" Orange uttered before a piece of the ceiling fell on him, missing him by an inch.

A scroll suddenly appeared once more, Blue picked it up to read, "Uh, I think this one's for you Orange." He handed Orange the scroll.

"Your empire is under siege of the goblin horde," the lizard read, "Your soldiers need immediate orders. Do you wish to command them to fight back or to surrender? Well obviously to fight back!" He then turned to his guards, "Gather the army! Attack! Protect the kingdom!"

"Yes sire!"

At his commands the guards left to rally the troop to defend the kingdom. Another passage in the scroll appears, Orange read. "You choose to protect your empire, the number you roll will determine your army's chances at victory." A 20-sided die appeared, Orange took it in his hand and rolled, only for it to land on a 5, much to his disappointment.

At that an enormous bolder crashed through the castle wall, smashing into the table, sending stone, glass, and splintering wood flying about, narrowly missing the trio.

Blue ran to the nearest window to see the goblin horde firing arrows and launching large boulders from medieval catapults, making to destroy the palace and its residents.

"We gotta get out of here!" He cried.

"Gah! We have to head to the dungeon!" Said Orange.

"What? Why?" Said Green.

"Purple's down there!" Explained Orange, "He was caught trying to make off with some of the dwarves' gold earlier and I rolled to lock him up."

"You what?!"

"No time to explain!" Orange led the other two down to the castle dungeon.

"Are you watching princess?" Red asked mockingly, watching the dwarven empire getting demolished. "seems like your heroes are in a bit of a bind with my goblin horde. How will you ever hope to escape now?"

White watched fretfully from her hidden prison, praying that Green and the others were okay and will escape the current catastrophe.
