Alright, it's almost time for the end of the Impel Down Arc. It's been one hell of a journey, forming unlikely friendships, going through hell and back, and now it's time for more epic battles. So, go ahead and enjoy.
Chapter 7: Farewell
"AAAARGH!" Blackbeard screamed in agony as he held his head, trashing on the floor.
Danny looked confused as Blackbeard trashed and screamed, since the attack was strong, it didn't seem strong enough to warrant such a reaction. Luffy quickly jumped towards him, ready for another attack as Blackbeard slowly stood back up.
"Gum-Gum Jet-!"
"Black Vortex!"
With his hand turning into darkness, Blackbeard used his powers to pull Luffy towards him, surprising him as Blackbeard grabbed him by the torso. Suddenly, Luffy lost the steam and pink tinge on his skin before Blackbeard slammed Luffy on the ground. Blood erupted from Luffy's head from the attack before he was thrown away by Blackbeard.
"Aaargh!" Luffy cried in pain as he rolled on the ground, holding his head.
"Why are you in pain?" Crocodile asked, surprised. "Aren't you made of rubber? Blunt attacks shouldn't phase you."
Luffy quickly went back up his feet, the steam coming back. Blood flowed from his head to his eye, surprising him as he went to wipe it, staring at his blood-soaked hand.
"Zehahaha! Your brother had the same look on his face too," Blackbeard laughed as he walked forward, looking at all the criminals, especially the one with Devil Fruits. "The darkness of the Dark-Dark Fruit attracts and nullifies the power of other Devil Fruit Users! That's how I was able to beat your miserable brother. With this power, your powers are as useless as money to a dead man! Zehahahaha!"
All the prisoners looked shock at Blackbeard, having the power that nullifies theirs was like fighting the ocean itself. As Blackbeard was laughing, a pitchfork was suddenly thrown at him, stabbing his chest. He screamed in pain as he fell on the floor, yanking the spear off him.
"I see," Danny said as he picked up another discarded pitchfork off the ground. "Unlike other Logias, you can't phase through their attacks. Not only that, but it seems you take more damage than normal. You're a magnet of pain. That's one hell of a downside."
"…Bright boy," Blackbeard said, panting heavily as he stood up, looking at Danny. "Yeah, unlike other Logia Types, my body can't escape the damage, and it's amplified. But my body can handle it. This power chose me. You seem like an interesting fella. Wanna join my crew?"
"Sorry, not interested," Danny said.
"Zehahaha! That's too bad," Blackbeard said with a laugh. He then turned to Luffy. "Should you really be wasting your time here? Your brother's execution is about to start. Shouldn't you be there to give off moral support?"
In anger, Luffy went and rushed at him, but was stopped by Jinbei, who caught him by the arms. Luffy struggled to get free, but Jinbei kept a tight grip on him.
"Let me go, Jinbei!" Luffy exclaimed angrily.
"Calm yourself, Luffy!" Jinbei exclaimed. "We are wasting time when we should be saving Ace!"
"He's right," Danny said. "Besides, we need to hurry. Magellan could be on our asses any minute now, and I don't want to test our luck again."
"Hey," Crocodile called out to Blackbeard, getting his attention. "So, you're the no name pirate that took my place, huh?"
"Yeah, what about it?" Blackbeard asked.
"I'm just curious," Crocodile said. "You took all that trouble to become one of the Seven Warlords, but by being here, when all the Warlords are summoned for the execution, you'll most likely lose that title. Just what are you up to?"
"Don't worry, I got big plans, zehahaha," Blackbeard said. "You wanna know what it is? If you join me, I'll let you in on it."
"No, I don't really care," Crocodile said, making Blackbeard laugh.
Slowly, Luffy calmed down and the steam disappeared. Jinbei then let him go once he knew Luffy wouldn't attack anymore. Suddenly, they heard some explosions and screams. Everyone looked at the commotion, and could see the Hydra from the distance.
"Oh crap! It's Magellan!" Bon Clay cried out.
"Quick! We need to go!"
"Get out of my way!"
"I ain't dying by his poison!"
The criminals rushed through the door, passing through Blackbeard and his crew. Blackbeard ignored them and just stared at Luffy, who glared at him.
"I will at least give you this, we appreciate you disrupting their defenses on the staircases," Jinbei said, though he was still glaring at him.
"Zehahaha! You helped us out too," Blackbeard said. "This would have been helluva lot harder without the panic you caused."
Suddenly, they heard screaming in the staircases. They all looked and saw the prisoners that ran on the stairs being sent flying back to the floor, by a bandaged up Minotaurus.
"The Minotaurus!?" Bon Clay cried out with his eyes bugging out. "Why is that thing still up! It took a lot for me, Straw Boy, and Ice Boy to take it down!"
"That thing is an Awakened Zoan," Crocodile explained before he turned to the unconscious Jailor Beasts. "In fact, all of them are Awakened. They're strong and practically invulnerable. Our attacks won't keep them down for long. Besides that, we got the King of Hell hot on our backs. So, stop pissing yourselves and take care of it."
As the prisoners retreated from the Minotaurus, Blackbeard and Luffy kept starring at each other, ignoring the chaos.
"I will save Ace," Luffy declared.
"Zehahaha, I won't try and stop you then. Do your best. Nothing is impossible in this world, after all," Blackbeard said as he crossed his arms. "But you already know that. Remember Sky Island?"
Luffy didn't reply, but Blackbeard could see from his expression that he had made it to the fabled Sky Island, making him laugh as he and his crew walked past Luffy and his group.
"And just like Sky Island, the One Piece is really out there!" Blackbeard exclaimed as he raised his arms up in the air. "Zehahaha! I can't wait to show you what I have plan! Trust me on this! In a few hours, we're going set off and explosion so great, the whole world is going to shake! Zehahaha!"
Luffy watched as Blackbeard and his crew went towards where Magellan is. He then turned towards the stairs, where he saw the Minotaurus at the door. When it saw him, it grew made, remembering that he was the one that punched him. With a roar, the Jailor Beast rushed towards him and swung his mace, smashing Luffy on the head.
"Hang on, Straw Boy!" Bon Clay cried as he rushed to help him, only to be stopped by Danny. "Ice Boy? What are you doing? He needs our help!"
"Let him have this one, Bon," Danny said as he watched steam rise from Luffy's body. "He's gonna need some misplaced aggression."
The mace suddenly bounced off Luffy, surprising the Minotaurus as Luffy aimed at him, glaring so hard that the beast actually flinched.
"Gum-Gum Jet Pistol!"
With a devastating punch, the Minotaurus was sent slamming to the brick wall, getting knocked out and embedded on the wall, surprising the criminals. Luffy then run towards the stairs, causing the inmates to cheer and join him.
Once they were halfway through the stairs, Danny transformed into his Hybrid form and created walls of ice to block their path.
"That should keep them busy," he said as he turned back to normal and entered Level 3, running alongside the other inmates.
Meanwhile, Magellan was running through Level 4 with his guards behind him. He suddenly stopped running when he saw the Blackbeard Pirates walking towards him.
"Marshall D. Teach, I presume," Magellan said as he glared at them.
"You presume correctly," Blackbeard said with a grin. "And you must be Magellan."
"Hydra!"
Suddenly, before the Blackbeard Pirates could react, Magellan launched a giant hydra head made of poison, which opened its maw and devoured the intruders, drowning them in poison.
"AAAAAGH!" Blackbeard screamed in pain as he fell on his knees, his crew following after. "WHAT IS THIS!? POISON!?"
"I don't have the time and patience to deal with you," Magellan said as he walked pass the poisoned pirates, followed by his guards.
Soon, they reached the other side of the floor and saw the devastation; guards and jailors lying on the ground, some were motionless, the Jailor Beasts unconscious on the floor, except for the Minotaurus, which was embedded on the wall near the door.
Then they saw Mistress Sadie.
"Finally!" she cried as she struggled from her bonds. "Help me!"
"Mistress Sadie, what happened?" Magellan asked while the guards behind him stared at her perversely.
"It was that damn Ivankov!" Sadie exclaimed in anger. "I'm going to make that pervert pay! Now, stop staring at me, you creeps, and help me! Do you know how humiliating it is for a dominatrix to be tied up!?"
"Help her down," Magellan ordered as he continued walking. He then spotted the unconscious Hannyabal and walked towards him, kneeling down on the ground to check on him. He was badly bruised, but he was breathing. "You've done well, Hannyabal. I'll take it from here. Treat his injuries."
"Yessir," two guards said as they rushed towards Hannyabal as Magellan walked towards the stairs. "Oh man! This is bad!"
"I won't let you die, Hannyabal, since you're the only one who can replace me as Warden," Magellan thought with a cold look as he stared at the damage that has happened under his watch. "How? How did he survive? What miracle did he use to cause this much damage!"
His entire body slowly turned into poison, filling it in the stairs and used it to swim through the stairs.
"STRAW HAT! YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE!" he roared. He swam through the stairway, easily destroying the blocks of ice that were in his way.
"Shit!" one of the inmates cried as they stared at the entrance to Level 4. "That was Magellan! He's close!"
"Just keep moving! We're almost there!" a Newkama cried.
Soon, they finally reached the stairs to take them to Level 2. As the inmates started climbing frantically, Ivankov and Inazuma stayed behind, something that Danny noticed.
"What's wrong?" he asked the two, staring at them. "Let's keep moving."
"Sorry, but I got a big date coming," Ivankov said as she looked at the direction where Magellan was coming.
"Are you insane!?" Danny exclaimed. "You're strong, but that son of a bitch will kill you!"
"When life gives you lemons, you squirt it back in life's eyes!" Ivankov declared as she spotted the familiar purple hydra at the distance. "Now go! Straw Boy needs you more than I do right now."
"Grr…You better not die!" Danny exclaimed before he rushed through the stairs. Inazuma stared at Ivankov, who winked at him, before he followed Danny, his hands turning into scissors, cutting the stairway as he ran.
Once the two made it to the second floor, Danny looked at Inazuma, who was busy cutting the entrance to Level 3.
"Go, you're needed elsewhere," Inazuma said, not looking at him.
Danny gave him a look before he nodded and rushed away. Inazuma kept cutting until he reached the last piece that connected that entrance together. He hesitated, looking worried as he thought about Ivankov.
"I believe in you, Iva," he said as he cut the piece, causing the entire stairway to fall, blocking the way. He then started fortifying the hole by cutting the walls and ceiling nearby before he just stood there and waited.
Ivankov watched patiently with a smirk as the purple hydra got closer to her before she finally came face to face with Magellan, who doesn't look pleased.
"Emporio Ivankov," Magellan growled.
"It's been a while, big boy," Ivankov said as she stabbed herself on the hips, pumping hormones in her. Slowly, her body started changing, becoming more masculine as he got bigger, becoming a man again. "Did you miss me?"
"I'd like to know where you've been hiding all this time, but I have bigger fish to fry," Magellan said as two more hydras formed behind him.
"My~, why are you in such a hurry?" Ivankov said with a wink and a kiss. "Don't you know it's rude to blow off a date? Maybe it's time someone taught you how to treat a beauty right! Heehaw!"
Meanwhile, the rest of the group easily rushed through Level 2, due to the Jail Beasts being overrun by the prisoners. They just had to worry about stepping on the poison that was left by Magellan.
"Yes! We're almost there!" one of the inmates cried as they reached the stairs to Level 1.
"I can almost taste fresh air!" one of them cried.
As they ran, Luffy spotted Danny, but couldn't see Ivankov and Inazuma, making him confused.
"Hey! Where's Iva and Crab Guy?" he asked Danny once he caught up with them.
"They stayed behind to keep Magellan busy," Danny replied.
"What!?" Luffy exclaimed, almost tripping. "They're facing that monster on their own!? We have to go back!"
"Don't be stupid!" Danny exclaimed, looking at Luffy. "We can't have you facing Magellan again! Iva and Inazuma can handle him!"
"He's right, Straw Boy!" Bon Clay said. "Trust in the Miracle Worker! Right now, we should focus on getting a ship!"
Luffy hesitated before he nodded and started running faster. Danny and Bon looked back before continuing on their way.
"Ice Boy," Bon Clay suddenly said, getting his attention. "I want you to keep helping Straw Boy after we get out of here. Could you do that?"
"Dude, after all the shit we've been through, I'm not stopping until we save his brother," Danny said.
"Good," Bon Clay said with a small smile before he frowned. "I hope Iva is okay."
"Please, I bet he's busy trolling Magellan," Danny said in a deadpanned tone.
"Trolling?"
"You know, annoy them to make them mad or something."
"Oh."
Level 4…
"AAAAAAGH!" Ivankov cried in pain as his face was melting from the poison. He was on his knees, holding his face as Magellan just stood there, watching silently, a perplexed look in his eyes. "My face! It's melting! Melting…Or not!"
He suddenly grabbed the melted face mask off, revealing him to be perfectly safe, his smile ever present on his face.
"My make up is so thick that it protected me!" he said as he dropped the melted face mask to the ground.
Magellan just stood there, staring at him.
"'Your face isn't melted!?' Yee-haw! 'You sure fooled me!' Yee-haw!" Ivankov said, trying to imitate Magellan's voice as he pounded on the ground hysterically.
"Venom Blowfish!" Magellan spat out a blob of poison towards the laughing Ivankov. Before the blob could hit him, Ivankov leapt into the air and started running around Magellan, waving his arms comically.
"Death Wink!" Ivankov sent a shockwave towards Magellan, but it was blocked by his hydras. "Death Wink! Wink! Wink!"
He kept sending shockwaves towards Magellan, who kept blocking with his hydras as he kept chewing the blob of poison in his mouth before spitting it out.
"Venom Blowfish!" he exclaimed as he managed to aim it at Ivankov, who stopped in shock as the attack came near him.
"Oh no! Oh no!" Ivankov exclaimed before he ducked, dodging the blob of poison. Magellan blinked as he watched Ivankov fiddling with his boots. "Oh no! My laces are undone! My laces! My laces…My boots are lace less!"
The two stared at each other silently before Ivankov was on his knees, pounding the ground while laughing.
"'They're lace less?' Heehaw! 'You sure fooled me!' Heehaw!" Ivankov laughed.
"Enough of this nonsense," Magellan said, causing Ivankov to stopped laughing and look at him. "I know you're just buying time, but it's pointless. The Marines already know you're trying to get a ship. All what's waiting for them is despair. The only merciful thing left is my executing all of you."
"Well, if you're in that hurry, then I'll show you a little something special," Ivankov said as he raised his arms and straightened his fingers. "Newkama Kempo 44 Aesthetic Technique: Hair Removal Fist!"
He started throwing jabs so fast that it was like a thousand hands were flying out of him as he rushed towards Magellan, who just stood there, meeting him head on.
Meanwhile, on Level 2, Inazuma was waiting for Ivankov, looking worried as he stared at the blockaded stairway. He perked up when he heard a rumble before the blockade exploded. He smiled in relief, thinking Ivankov defeated Magellan, but his relief turned into shock and horror as he saw the familiar purple hydra heads burst through the blockade, revealing Magellan, who had blood dripping from his head.
"No! But Iva-!"
"Is taken care off," Magellan said as he glared at Inazuma. "And you'll be joining him."
Baring his teeth angrily at Magellan, Inazuma turned his hands into scissors and rapidly cut the ground before flinging them towards Magellan.
"Great Scissors: Keep Out!" he exclaimed as he kept flinging the cut stone towards Magellan, who just walked towards him.
Level 1…
"Damn it! Retreat!" an inmate cried as he and the other inmates were running as they were assaulted by the Blugori and the beaten Jailor Beasts, who were ordered by their angered mistress to stop the prison break, as well as to prevent Ivankov of getting out.
"We were so close!"
"Why are the Jailor Beasts on Level 1!"
"They look so mad!"
Suddenly, some of inmates ran into someone and fell on the ground.
"Ow! Watch where you're go-AAAGH!" the inmate exclaimed before he saw who he ran into. "Holy shit! You're Crocodile!"
Crocodile regarded the inmates coldly before continuing on his way, followed by Mr. 1 and the rest of the inmates from below. All the inmates from Levels 1 and 2 stared in disbelief as Blugori were overwhelmed by the perversely dressed inmates, wondering where they came from.
"Wait, we still have the Jailor Beasts to wor-WAAAH!?" the inmates cried as they turned to look at the four Jailor Beasts, only to see them beaten on the ground. "Wait, is that the kid from yesterday? I thought Magellan killed him!"
"Hang on, that's Son of the Sea Jinbei! What's he doing here!?"
"Where did all these perverts come from?"
"Wow, you guys made good work here," Danny commented once he and Bon arrived.
"Danny! You're still alive!" the inmates exclaimed.
"Does that mean we're finally getting out of this dump?"
"Hell yeah we are!" Danny exclaimed. "Now, let's bust through those doors and grab us a ship!"
"YEAH!" the inmates cheered, invigorated on not only beating up the guards and being out of their cells, but also being surrounded by strong big names that could take down the Jailor Beasts. It felt like nothing was going to stop them.
"Hydra!"
Screams of pain echoed through the floor as everyone and saw Magellan walking towards them, attacking the nearby inmates with his hydra, covering them in blobs of poison. Most of them were terrified while others were shock.
"Magellan!?" Luffy exclaimed in shock.
"No! But Iva and Inazuma were supposed to hold you back!" Bon Clay cried.
"Those two were easily taken care of," Magellan said as he walked towards them. "And you will join them soon."
Danny's eyes widened as he heard that Ivankov and Inazuma were taken down by Magellan, the two people who saved Luffy and Bon Clay, who helped them reach Level 6, and started this prison break. Even though he didn't know Ivankov and Inazuma long, he started considering them as friends. Soon, he started gritting his teeth as his eyes glowed green.
"You bastard!" Luffy exclaimed in anger as some of them started panicking and begging. "I'll make you pay for that!"
"Whine all you want," Magellan growled as the hydras flew into the air and towards Luffy. "I'll make sure you won't survive a second time!"
The three hydras roared towards Luffy, who gritted his teeth in frustration because he can't touch Magellan, and he knew he can't risk getting poison again. Suddenly, a green barrier appeared in front of him, blocking the three hydras, surprising everyone. Magellan looked at the source and saw Danny walked besides Luffy, his hand raised.
"You," he growled angrily as Danny smirked at him.
"Guess your poison doesn't work if it's not touching," he said as he dispersed the shield and walked forward.
"Danny?" Luffy asked as he noticed Danny glowing.
"Luffy, go and get us a ship," Danny said as he cracked his knuckles. "Leave Magellan to me."
"Are you sure?" Luffy asked as Danny grinned at him.
"I got this," he said as the familiar ring of light appeared and traveled across his body.
Everyone watched in shock as Danny's appearance changed, even the colors of his outfit changed, with the white shirt and white cloth becoming black, the black jacket and black boots becoming white.
"Woah! Cool!" Luffy exclaimed as he saw Danny transform. "You can transform!?"
"That, and this!" Danny exclaimed as he fired a green beam at Magellan, who blocked it with his arms. He was pushed a few feet away, growling as he felt it burn his arms.
"You can fire lasers!" Luffy cried out, his eyes sparkling. "Are you a robot!?"
"No, just a guy that can kick Magellan's ass," Danny said as he turned to Luffy and grinned at him. "So, leave this to me and get us a ship."
"You got it," Luffy said with a grin before he started running, followed by the others. "You better win!"
"I plan to," Danny said before he noticed the inmates from Levels 1 and 2 stayed behind, holding cannons. "What are you guys doing here?"
"We're gonna help you fight this bastard!" one of them exclaimed as the rest shouted in agreement. "We're not gonna let our boss die here!"
"In that case, here," Danny lifted his hands and his eyes glowed blue. Suddenly, barriers of ice appeared in front of then, and some even covered the cannon balls. "My ice is special; it will never melt."
"I don't know what you are, but you will die for your sins," Magellan said as he glared at Danny.
"Not the first time I heard that!" Danny exclaimed as he rushed towards Magellan.
"Venom Blowfish!" Magellan spat out blobs of poison towards Danny, who just dodged it before he flew in the air. "Wait, you can fly!?"
"Yes, I can!" Danny exclaimed as he suddenly spun and aimed two of his feet towards Magellan, covering them in his ghost ice. Magellan used his hydra to block him, the two colliding. To his shock, part of his hydra actually froze. "Impossible! Your Devil Fruit power can't possibly surpass mine!"
"Who said I was using my Devil Fruit?" Danny said as his feet was suddenly covered in green energy. He threw kicks towards Magellan's frozen hydra, blasting the ice towards him, which was covered in green energy.
"Hydra!" the two hydras rushed towards the ice and swallowed it. A few seconds later, the two heads froze as well before it exploded, shocking Magellan. Distracted, he didn't noticed Danny was just below him until it was too late.
"Ghost Buster!" Danny unleashed an explosive blast of ghost energy that send Magellan flying. Danny then turned to the inmates. "Quick! Fire while he's in the air!"
"Roger!" the inmates exclaimed before they aimed their cannons at Magellan and loaded it with the ice-covered cannonballs. "Fire!"
Booms echoed through the floor as the ice cannonballs flew towards Magellan, bombarding him through the air, causing him to land painfully on the ground, covered in soot and bleeding in some places.
"The only scary thing about you is the poison!"
"Thanks to the boss here, we don't have to worry about that!"
"The inmates are running the show now, Diarrhea Man!"
"Impressive," Magellan grunted as he stood back up, glaring at Danny. "I admit, you're more troublesome than I first thought, back when you were hiding your sins. But even if you delay me, your plan to escape will fail. By now, the Marines have already made sure that their ships will be unreachable. What awaits them is despair."
"Dude, have you met Luffy?" Danny said with a smirk. "That guy broke in this hellhole, survive the poison you shat all over him, and went down and back up from Level 6. If anyone can get a ship, it'll be that guy. Besides, you should be more worried about me!"
Danny rushed towards Magellan, who charged at him, his arm raised, ready to strike at him.
Meanwhile, Luffy was running alongside Jinbei and Bon Clay, almost near the exit. The inmates started cheering as they reached the door.
"Man, I never thought I'd be back here again."
"I never thought it'd be looking at this door in this side."
"Quick, open it!"
As the inmates were hurriedly opening the doors, Jinbei and Crocodile didn't look as excited as the inmates, looking serious.
"Idiots, they really thought it was going to be this easy," Crocodile said as the inmates finally opened the door, just as Luffy arrived.
"It's open!" the inmates cheered as they all rushed out. "Now let's get a ship!"
They raised their weapons and eagerly rushed through the docks, ready to kill the Marines and take their ship. Pumping full with adrenaline at the chance of freedom, it took them a while to realize that not a single ship was in sight.
"Wait! Where are the ships!"
"Did they leave!?"
"Damn it! What are we going to do!"
"We can't go back! Magellan will kill us!"
"But we can't go forward! The water is full of giant Sea Kings!"
"Calm down," Jinbei said as he walked through them, staring at the sea. "The ships are still there, see?"
"You're right," Luffy said, squinting his eyes, spotting the ships just a few miles away. "Still, they're far. How can reach them?"
"Leave that to me," Jinbei said before he walked back to the door. Everyone watched as he easily broke one of the doors and carried it over his head before walking back to the docks. He then jumped into the water and kept holding the door, creating a makeshift raft. "Anyone who wants to join, hop on."
Luffy immediately jumped on the raft, followed by Crocodile and Mr. 1. When no one else joined them, Jinbei nodded and started kicking his feet. Suddenly, the four of them were shooting through the water.
"Woah! So fast!" Luffy exclaimed as he saw that the docks were far away.
"That's what you expect from a Fishman in water," Crocodile said as he looked at the ships. "Heads up."
Suddenly, cannon balls were landing beside them, causing the water to explode around then. Luckily, Jinbei evaded the cannon balls as he swam to the nearest ship.
"Fire the cannons! Sink those criminals!" the captain of the ship exclaimed angrily, glaring at the group.
"Alright, hold still and I will launch you to the ship!" Jinbei exclaimed.
"Right!" Luffy shouted back as he stood on the rocky raft, swelling his rubber body to deflect the cannon balls. Crocodile used his sand to create a sandstorm to block the cannon balls while Mr. 1 leapt to the air and turned his arms into blades, slicing the cannon balls and letting them fall harmlessly into the water.
Jinbei then dove under the water. Once he was far enough, he suddenly grabbed the water around him and started spinning, creating a strong current.
"Fishman Karate: Ocean-Current Shoulder Throw!" Jinbei exclaimed as he tossed the current toward their raft, causing it to fly towards the ship, much to the Marine soldiers' shock. The raft broke into splinters from the force, but it was unneeded now that Luffy, Crocodile, and Mr. 1 were on the ship, all three glaring at the Marine soldiers.
"W-what are you people doing!?" the captain exclaimed angrily before pulling out his sword. "Get those criminals off this ship!"
The soldiers grabbed their weapons and attacked, either charging or firing at the three. Luffy, Crocodile, and Mr. 1 scattered and rushed towards the soldiers.
"Gum-Gum Whip!" Luffy threw a sweeping kick, his legs extending, easily knocking a dozen soldiers off the ship.
"Sables!" Crocodile released a tornado of sand that sent the soldiers into the air and falling down the sea.
"Spar Claw!" turning his fingers into blades, Mr. 1 release powerful slashes that sent the soldiers flying through the air, blood spurting out of their wounds.
"Hey! Don't damage the ship so much!" Luffy exclaimed as he saw slash marks across the ship's deck. He then duck to avoid a sword from a soldier before he grabbed the soldier by the face and threw him towards a group of soldiers, causing them to scatter through the deck, and the thrown soldier smashed into the mast, making it dent a little.
"Follow your own damn advice," Crocodile said as he turned soldiers into mummies as he slashed at them with his sand.
The other ships nearby, seeing that the ship's crew were being thrown overboard, decided to sink the ship.
"Hurry! Sink the ship!" another captain exclaimed as the soldiers loaded their cannons. "Fire!"
The cannon balls flew towards the ship, but before it even reached it, a wave of water blocked the cannons, causing it to explode in the air.
"Fishman Karate: Spear Wave!"
The ship rocked violently as a wave of water pierced through their ship, causing it to sink. In his panic, the captain looked at the sea and saw the smoldering glare of Jinbei directed at them before he retreated back to the water just as the ship sank to the sea.
No matter what the soldiers did on the ship, they were all helpless against the might of the three pirates. The captain stood there, eyes widened and jaw dropped so low that it almost touched the ground. Soon, only he was the only one remaining on the ship, with most of his crew overboard, either bruised, bleeding, or drained of bodily fluid. Steeling his nerves, the captain pulled out his sword and rushed to Luffy, thinking he was the weakest, but before he could reach him, a fist was planted on the center of his face, sending him flying off the ship, splashing into the sea.
"Alright, we've taken the ship!" Luffy declared as Crocodile lit up a new cigar while Mr. 1 threw the bodies overboard. Jinbei then jumped from the sea and landed on board, causing the ship to shake a little. "Alright, now we have to turn back for Danny and the others."
"That's going to be difficult," Crocodile said, gesturing at the sea. Luffy turned and he saw the nearby ships coming closer, almost surrounding them.
"Fire!"
Suddenly, cannon balls were fired at them, and would have hit the ship, if it wasn't for Jinbei swerving the ship, narrowly dodging the cannon balls.
"Whoa! Great job dodging those!" Luffy exclaimed to Jinbei as he skillfully moved the ship through the water, dodging the cannon balls.
"I cannot dodge forever," Jinbei said as cannon balls almost hit the ship. "I cannot keep this up for long."
Luffy looked back at Impel Down, wondering what was taking Danny so long.
Back inside Impel Down, Level 1 became a wasteland of ice and poison. The walls were covered in ice and scorch marks, frozen poison was hanging on the ceiling, and ice and craters covered the floor. Danny and Magellan were panting heavily, with Magellan having been hit more due to Danny's abilities, but Danny could feel the stinging in his chest, letting him know that he was out of time.
"You seemed tired," Magellan said, as he noticed Danny rubbing his chest, wincing in pain. "You…You can't use your powers long, can you?"
"What if I can't," Danny shot back, hiding the pain with bravado. "You really got time to worry for me when you can barely stand?"
"I admit, you are powerful, and that led to my mistake on not giving it my all," Magellan said as his body turned back to normal and he stood straight. "That's why, I won't hold back anymore!"
His eyes glowed red as steam started flowing out of him. Danny watched warily as Magellan was covered in poison, but this poison was different. Instead of the purple glob, this poison was red, and taking in a humanoid form with a skeletal face, wings, horns and sharp claws, steaming pouring off its mouth.
"Venom Demon!" Magellan declared, his skin now red, the poisonous creature towering over them.
"You gotta be kidding me," Danny said, backing away slightly. He could feel the hair on his body rise as he stared at the monster. He also noticed that the poison seemed to be spreading on the ground. "Everybody, run!"
"You will not escape!" Magellan said, raising his arm, causing the poison to raise its arm. "Hell's Judgement!"
He threw his arm towards them, Danny quickly flew away, creating an ice barrier, which the demon destroyed. Danny noticed that, even though it didn't melt, the poison seemed to have contaminated the ice. He looked around and saw the poison spreading rapidly across the floors, walls, and ice like fire.
"AAAGH!"
Danny turned and saw an inmate screaming in pain as one drop of poison fell on his shirt, and instantly spread all over him, turning his body angry red as steam flew out of his body.
"H-help me!" he cried as he grabbed a nearby inmate.
"Agh! Stop! Don't touch me!" the inmate cried as he was then infected by the poison. "Noooo!"
Danny watched as most of the inmates were infected by the Venom Demon, quickly dwindling their numbers. Danny quickly fired on the ceiling, causing it to fall and block Magellan from their path, giving them a chance to run.
"I will get you!" Magellan cried out as he pounded on the rubble blocking his way.
Danny led the remaining inmates towards the exit, seeing the others waiting near the docks.
"Danny, you're here!" A Newkama exclaimed before handing a Transponder Snail. "Jinbei told me to give this to you once you got back."
Danny nodded and took the snail from him, turning it on.
"Danny, is that you?" Jinbei's voice said through the snail.
"Yeah, how's it going?" Danny said as he kept his eyes towards where Magellan would come. "You guys got us a ship?"
"Yes, but it is being bombarded by cannons. I cannot keep dodging. I need you and everyone there to jump in the water," Jinbei said.
"I'm sorry, I think I misheard you," Danny said with a blink. "I thought I heard you said to jump into the water."
"I did," Jinbei said. "Just jump. Trust me."
"…Everyone, get ready to jump!" Danny exclaimed as he ended the call and pocketed the snail.
"Are you crazy!?" an inmate exclaimed. "We can't jump in there! It's full of Sea Kings!"
"You're really gonna trust that Fishman!? He might be tricking us to get back with the Government!" A Newkama exclaimed.
"It's either Sea Kings or Magellan, your pick!" Danny exclaimed before there was a loud bang and dust exploded in the room, surprising everyone.
Danny swatted the dust away and was shocked to see a big hole on the ground before spotting a shadow over him, causing him to look up and was surprised to see a big-headed Ivankov with a bloody nose and lumps on his head falling towards the ground. He and a few inmates quickly jumped away as he landed, causing the room to shake. In his arms was an unconscious Inazuma.
"Iva! You're alive!" Danny exclaimed, happy to see the giant-headed Newkama, who was barely conscious. "…I think..."
Suddenly, there was another explosion, and everyone screamed as the Venom Demon appeared, clambering towards them, Magellan at the center, glaring at them.
"Everyone, grab on to Iva and hold on tight!" Danny exclaimed, and everyone immediately did as he said, grabbing on to Ivankov. Thankfully, because Ivankov's head was so big, everyone managed to grab on to his hair.
Danny, covering his hands with blue energy, slammed his fists to the ground, creating a giant, thick wall of ice that blocked Magellan's way. As soon as he was done, he fell on one knee, grabbing his chest as he changed back to his human form.
"You think this will stop me!?" Magellan roared as he started punching the ice, slowly causing the poison to spread in the ice.
Ignoring the pain, Danny then activated his Devil Fruit, slowly changing and growing. The inmates watched as he became a giant Western-style dragon with dark blue scales, white fins and under scales, large horns, large claws, sharp teeth, and giant leathery wings, his size almost the same as Magellan's Venom Demon.
"Frozen Impact!"
Covering his right claw with ice and making a boulder-sized mallet, Danny then striked the ice wall, slamming it towards Magellan, sending him flying to the other side of the room. Danny then turned back to normal and rushed towards Ivankov, slapping his face.
"Iva! Wake up! We need you!" he exclaimed, slapping Ivankov's eyelids.
"Hm? What's going in…I was having a nice dream…About strawberry sundaes on a nice sunny beach…" Ivankov groaned as he slowly opened his eye. "Hm? Dan Boy?"
"No time for jokes, wink us outta here!" Danny exclaimed as he grabbed on Ivankov's hair.
"DANNY!" Magellan shouted as he burst out the ice rubble, the Venom Demon roaring as the poison spread through the floor. He rushed towards the group, the Demon's hand outstretched to grab them. "You won't escape!"
"Hold on!" Ivankov exclaimed, now awake as he readied himself. "Hell Wink!"
He winked just as Magellan was about to grab Danny. The shockwave stopped Magellan, even pushing him away from them as Ivankov propelled themselves out of the door, busting through it, and flying towards the sea.
Everyone screamed as they started falling to the ocean. Danny held on to Ivankov's hair as he looked at the water, and he saw a lot of shadows under it. Suddenly, the hair he was hold on suddenly fell off Ivankov's head, causing him to fall.
"Crap! No time to transform!" he thought, as he was too weak to use his Ghost powers, and there was no time for him to transform into his hybrid form to fly. He braced himself to fall into the water, hoping he could find a way out of this.
But instead of landing into the water, he landed on something bouncy.
"Wha?" Danny, surprised, looked down and his eyes widened. "Whoa!"
Magellan walked out the broken door and he look shocked as Venom Demon slowly disappeared, for happily bouncing in the ocean in front of him was a school of smiling whale sharks, making sure that Ivankov and Danny don't fall into the ocean.
"I apologize for making such an outrageous request, thank you," Jinbei said as he watched the whale sharks jump in front of him, with Luffy beside him, looking at the school in shock and awe.
"Awesome!" he cried with a big smile.
Danny stood up from the whale shark, seeing that it was about to fall back to the sea, and jumped off it, landing on another whale shark. Meanwhile, Ivankov was being bounced off the whale sharks, heading towards the ship. One last bounce, and Ivankov landed face first on the ship as Danny landed beside him, falling on his butt.
"I can't believe it!" Danny said as he laughed. "That was awesome!"
"We did it!"
"We're out of Impel Down!"
"I thought we were gonna die!"
Everyone stood up and cheered, happy to be free and alive. Ivankov cheered as the people jumped off his head, while another was stuck inside his nose, trying to get out, Danny and Luffy had an arm on each other's shoulder and cheered while jumping around, and the inmates were jeering at Magellan.
"SO LONG, SHIT MAN!"
Magellan regained his composure and glared at them as he pulled out a Transponder Snail. Meanwhile, the inmates were still happy, watching as the distance from Impel Down grew larger, some crying.
"I never thought I'd get out of that hell hole."
"I'm gonna find my wife and kid and start over."
"I'm turning over a new leaf after today."
"I'm gonna go and take over my dad's bottle factory."
Suddenly, their happy moment was interrupted as a loud boom shook their ship, causing them to tumble over the deck.
"Don't celebrate just yet, we're still in hot water," Crocodile said as he turned to look at the sides, seeing the other warships firing at them.
Jinbei steered the ship towards the Gates of Justice, trying to evade most of the cannons, but some managed to hit them.
"Crap! They're going to sink us!" an inmate cried as he almost fell overboard, clutching onto the ship's rail tightly.
"How are we gonna fight back!?" another cried as the ship shook again.
"How else? By firing back!" Danny exclaimed, keeping himself steady. "Ready the cannons and fire back!"
"Right!" the inmates quickly went to the cannons and started loading them and aiming at the ships.
They quickly fired at the other ships, hitting some of them, but for every shot they fired, it was returned four times. Crocodile used his sand to block the cannonballs, causing it to fall towards Mr. 1, who caught it and throwing it back towards the ships. Ivankov used Death Wink to blast the cannons away. And Luffy started deflecting the cannonballs. But slowly, they were being overcome.
"Heh, those fools are going to get themselves killed," a captain said as he watched the stolen ship being bombarded by cannons. "Even if they got a ship, they can't get out as long as the gates are closed. All that's waiting for them is a watery grave."
"Gum-Gum Balloon!" Luffy exclaimed as he inflated his body, deflecting a cannonball towards the sea. "There's too many cannonballs!"
"We can't escape!" an inmate cried as he fell on the wooden floor.
"We're gonna sink!" another one cried as he held on the mast for dear life.
"I've been thinking," Danny called out as he kept his balance. "We got the ship, but how the hell are we opening the gates?"
Jinbei remained silent as he kept steering the ship to the closed gates. They finally reached it, trapping them as the ships surrounded them. The inmates on the ship started panicking as the Marines were ready to sink the ship.
"Ready. Aim. FI-!" a Marine captain ordered, ready to sink the criminals to the bottom of the sea, when he suddenly stopped.
In the docks, Magellan was about to board a ship that came for him, ready to finish the criminals that caused so much trouble. Before he could take a step, he noticed something, something that made his eyes widened in shock.
A light suddenly appeared in front of them. The light grew until it shone upon every ship. Everyone saw the Gates of Justice wide open.
"What's going on!?" the captain exclaimed in shock. "Who opened the gates!?"
"Why are the gates opening?" Danny asked in surprise.
"I don't know, but this is great!" Luffy cheered with a big grin, dancing along with most of the inmates and Newkamas.
Danny was wary, looking at their doorway to freedom. He can't help but have a bad feeling about all of this. Suddenly, he started looking around the deck, looking for someone.
"Luffy," he called, getting Luffy's attention. "Where's Bon?"
"Why are the gates opening!?" a Marine captain exclaimed angrily. "What the hell is going on!? Where's Magellan!? Did he authorize this!?"
"He can't have, sir," a soldier said nervously. "I just saw him on the docks, and he seemed surprised!"
"What!?" the captain exclaimed.
Back in Impel Down, the guards were confused as they stood by, allowing the Gates of Justice to be opened, giving a chance for the criminals to escape.
"A-a-re you sure about this, sir?" a guard asked, looking at the one who ordered this. "If we don't close the gates, the prisoners will get away!"
"Trust me, I know what I'm doing," Magellan said in a calm voice. "Keep those gates open until I say so."
Suddenly, the doors burst open, and an angry Magellan came barging through.
"What the hell is going on here!?" he exclaimed, veins pulsing on his head as he glared at the guards and at Magellan. "Huh!?"
"W-Warden Magellan?" the guard in confusion. "B-but he's Warden Magellan!"
The Warden Magellan in the room turned and looked at Warden Magellan, who was glaring at him in anger and confusion.
"Oopsie~," Magellan said in a singsong voice. He then touched his face with his left hand, causing Magellan to become Bon Clay, wearing the Warden's outfit. "You caught me~!"
Outside Impel Down, Luffy grabbed on Jinbei's kimono as the Fishman kept steering the ship.
"What do you mean Bon stayed behind!?" Luffy exclaimed. "Why would he do that!? Why did you let him!?"
"We needed someone to stay behind and open the Gates of Justice, and he volunteered," Jinbei said calmly.
"We're going back for him!" Luffy exclaimed as he went to grab the helm, only for Jinbei to grab his arm and pulled him up.
"Don't be foolish!" he shouted as he threw Luffy back on the floor. "We can't waste any more time! Think about what we're doing! We're trying to save Ace! We lost many friends to get this far, and if we turn back now, all of it will be for nothing! We can't afford to lose anymore time!"
Luffy gritted his teeth and looked down, knowing Jinbei was right while most of the inmates and Newkama looked shock that someone stayed behind to open the gates.
"Bon Clay stayed behind? For us?"
"Why would he do that?"
"I can't believe it…"
"Then I'll go," Danny said as he walked towards the edge of the ship, about to transform. "I'll got get him the-agh!"
He suddenly fell on his knees, clutching his chest as he felt the throbbing pain in his core.
"Danny!?" Luffy exclaimed as he kneeled next to Danny. "What's wrong!?"
"N-nothing," Danny grunted as he took careful, deep breaths. He clenched his fist, angry at himself for being helpless.
Jinbei stared at the two in silence before he pulled out a small Transponder Snail from his kimono and handed it to the two, surprising them.
Flashback…
"You're going to do what?" Jinbei asked in shock as he and Bon Clay ran to the door, leaving Danny to fight Magellan.
"I'm going to open the Gates of Justice," Bon Clay said in a serious tone.
"But you'll end up left behind, alone with Magellan, not to mention outnumbered by the guards," Jinbei said. "This is suicide."
"I'm the only one who can open the gates," Bon Clay said. "We need to get Straw Boy out of here, Jinbei. Promise me not to tell him and Ice Boy once you're through the gates."
"You don't want to say goodbye to them?" Jinbei asked. "You may never see them again…"
"Don't be silly," Bon Clay said with a smile as he ran to a different direction. "Swans don't die, and never say goodbye."
Flashback End…
"The range of this Baby Transponder Snail is limited, and once the gates closed, you won't be able to contact him," he said before he returned to steering the ship. Luffy stared at him before he took the Baby Transponder Snail.
Back in Impel Down, Bon Clay laughed mockingly as he twirled around in front of the shocked Magellan and guards, the former looking incredibly mad.
"I got you guys pretty good with my Magellan impression, didn't I~!" Bon Clay laughed as he kept dancing around the room. "It's a good thing I memorized your face, Magellan! Thanks for letting me slap your face, hahahaha!"
"You, you may have opened the gate, but they're still trapped, and the Marines will chase after them!" Magellan shouted before Bon Clay changed into him.
"Still, we can't take a chance, so close the gates!" Magellan declared.
"R-right!" the guard said, about to press the button to closed the gates.
"You fool! What are you doing!?" Warden Magellan exclaimed, freezing the guard. "Don't close it!"
"Why are you following him!? Close the gates!" Magellan shouted.
The guard looked confused, his hand hovering above the button, his head turning left and right as he looked at the two Magellans.
"Don't close the gates!" Warden Magellan exclaimed.
"Do it! Close the gates!" Magellan exclaimed.
"Don't!"
"Do it!"
"Don't!"
"Do it!" Magellan exclaimed before stepping in front of Warden Magellan. "Do it now!"
"Yessir!" the guard exclaimed as he pushed the button. It took him a second to realized what he just did as everyone looked at him shocked.
Bon Clay undid his transformation and leapt into the air, spinning as fast as he can
"Memoirs of a Desert Kingdom!" he exclaimed as he destroyed the gates' controls with a powerful kick, causing it to blew up before he landed on the ground with a ballerina pose. "Yeehaw! You didn't think I'll let you hurt my friends, did you?"
"You…" Magellan growled out in anger as Bon Clay laughed at him. "How dare you…"
"Bon! Can you hear me? Bon!"
Everyone was startled as they heard Luffy's voice from Bon's clothes. Bon Clay looked surprised as he pulled out a Transponder Snail in shock as it glared at him.
"Damn it, Jinbei! I thought I asked you not to say anything until you passed the gates!" he thought in worry as he looked at the Baby Transponder Snail.
"What are you doing, Bon!? I thought we were getting out together!" Luffy exclaimed in anger. "You're always doing this! You're always sacrificing yourself to help me! Answer me, Bon!"
"Damn it, Bon! This wasn't part of the plan!" Danny voice exclaimed after Luffy's. "We could have found another way! Get over here so I can kick your ass!"
"Bon Boy! You naughty boy! Who said you can stay behind!"
"Bon Clay!"
"Brother Bon!"
Bon Clay bit his lips as he heard the voices of his friends call out for him through the Transponder Snail, resisting the urge to cry.
"Bon…The gates are closing…We have to…go now…" Luffy said through the Transponder Snail, his voice cracking. "…Thank you!"
"It…it was great meeting you, Bon!" Danny said, his voice cracking.
"We'll never forget you, Bon Clay!"
"Thank you!"
Like opening floodgates, tears leaked out of Bon Clay's eyes, which became black as it smeared through his mascara. He fell on his knees, holding the Transponder Snail gently as the voices of Luffy, Danny, Ivankov, the Newkamas, and inmates all yelled their gratitude at him as Magellan and the guards watched.
"STRAW BOY!"
Outside Impel Down, the stolen ship managed to passed through the closing Gates of Justice, the rapid currents carrying them away, as the Marines desperately tried to sink them, but their cannons couldn't reach them. Luffy and Danny were kneeling in front of the Baby Transponder Snail while the others stood behind them, watching as the Transponder Snail cried, tears leaking from its eyes.
"STRAW BOY!" Bon Clay shouted through the Transponder Snail. "You must save your brother! I know you will! You're not alone. You and our friends will save him!"
"Bon!" Luffy cried out as tears and snot started dripping from his face.
Soon, the massive Gates of Justice closed, severing the connection, causing the Baby Transponder Snail to sleep. Luffy, Danny, Ivankov, the Newkamas, and some of the inmates all rushed to the back of the ships, tears and snot dripping off them as they cried for Bon Clay.
"Bon!" Luffy and Danny cried out loudly, tears and snot streaming off their faces as they lost their friend.
"Bon Boy!" Ivankov cried for the man who risked his life to save his friends.
"Bon Clay!" the Newkamas cried for the man who never left Straw Hat's side when he was fighting the poison.
"Brother Bon!" the inmates cried for the man who sacrificed himself for their freedom.
Jinbei, Crocodile, Mr. 1, and some of the inmates remained silent, letting the rest cry their hearts out as they sailed with the currents. The Marines at the other side of the gate just stood there, dumbfounded at what they just witnessed.
Back in Impel Down, Bon Clay quickly shed off Magellan's clothes off him and got into a fighting pose, facing Magellan, full of vigor.
"Even in the deepest pit of Hell, a single flower of friendship blooms, waving back and forth over the waves, leaving only a single petal as a memento. Someday, it will surely bloom once more! Okama Way!"
"Any final words!?" Magellan shouted as he thrust his fingers towards the grinning Bon Clay.
"En Garde!" Bon Clay shouted back as he met Magellan head on.
"Let us meet again, in the fields of friendship…"
And, for the first time in history, the once impenetrable Impel Down was invaded by one intruder, resulting in the escape of two hundred and forty-one prisoners, the biggest break out ever recorded.
Yet the worst is still to come.
Level 3…
The screams of the Blackbeard Pirates echoed through the empty floor as a single person made his way towards them. He looked exasperated as he pulled out the antidote and dosed them with it. Slowly, their screams of pain dwindled down as the antidote dissolved the poison.
"Honestly, you people are too reckless, facing on Magellan without a plan for his poison," Shiryu of the Rain said as he saw the Blackbeard Pirates slowly recovering.
"Wiihahaha! But you managed to save us!" Burgess laughed as he cracked his neck.
"It was fate that brought you here and saved us," Auger said, hefting his gun over his shoulder.
"Still…I was so sure we were gonna die for a moment there," Lafitte said, wiping the antidote off his face with a napkin.
"We…were lucky…" Doc Q groaned, lying on Stronger.
"If we fear facing death in every moment in life, we'll end up dying, that's why we're still alive, zehahaha!" Blackbeard said as he wringed his shirt dry. He then pointed at Shiryu, grinning widely. "I am grateful that you saved us, Shiryu, zehahaha!"
He walked towards Shiryu, with his crew behind him, smirking as he stopped beside the former Head Jailor.
"So, once again, welcome aboard my crew," Blackbeard said to the smirking Shiryu.
"I've been waiting for a man like you," Shiryu said. "Truth be told, I don't think I have a future here. So I'll gladly join your crew."
"Zehahaha! Zehahahahahaaa!"
Blackbeard just laughed loudly, his laugh echoing through the room, as he led his crew deeper into Hell.
And now Impel Down is over. So many things happened, with Luvfy meeting Danny, Danny fighting Magellan, Bon Clay sacrificing himself for the others, and Blackbeard in Impel Down. We also saw a glimpse of Danny's past with the Celestial Dragon. Well, they escaped Hell, now they're going straight to war. Never a dull moment.
