"Does this even look good on me?" I ask, tugging at the sleeve of the purple accented tailored suit I had placed a rush order for a few weeks prior. Well, not me, Ozpin, seeing as he knew Lukas and I wouldn't be doing so ourselves, but still. As we stand right outside of the changing room, Lukas sizes me up, and shrugs.
"You look awful in everything, sooooo…" the blue eyed idiot says. The smell of this place is a bit too rich for my tastes. Kind of what I'd imagine Weiss would smell and go, 'Smells like home!' Actually, does she have a good home life? Ah, not my business. She seems like the type to harbor insane daddy issues, though.
I roll my eyes and flip Lukas off. "Oh, whatever."
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding, you look perfect for making a catgirl swoon."
"Oh whatever." I then sneer at him, "You look perfect to make a robot bluescreen." I open handed gesture to his blue tinged suit.
"Actually shut the hell up."
"Nah! You can do it, but I can't?" I ask, crossing my arms over my chest.
"…" Lukas stays silent, knowing anything other than admitting defeat can be shot down.
"Yeeeeaaaah, damn hypocrite."
"Anyways, what do you plan to do about your hair?" Lukas asks.
"What do you mean?"
Lukas looks like I just grew three heads or something, and repeats what I said, "What do you mean, 'What do you mean?' Dude, you need a haircut."
"No the fuck I do not. Blake would murder me seven times over if I did." I say.
"Well you can't go looking like that."
"I'm gonna brush it, and use some… hair stuff? I don't fucking know, man." I say, running a hand through my hair. My fingers don't get caught in any knots on account of the fact that I brushed it earlier. "It's fine. Now you're making me worry about something I shouldn't be worried about."
"Fair enough. I was just messing with you, you know." Lukas says, heading over to the register.
"Ozpin payed already." I say, making my way to the door.
"Oh, yeah. Wait, for the accessories, too?" Lukas asks.
"Mmm…" I hum, and shrug. "Doubt it. Never mind." After shrugging, I walk over to the register with him, and pay for the… Wait, no, because I didn't buy any accessories, because the only thing I need to buy is a flower for my breast pocket, and this place doesn't have those. Well, it does, but they're not real ones. Whenever I buy Blake some more flowers, I'll knock that out too. After Lukas checks out, we walk outside and see Jaune leaving a costume store with what looks like a somewhat cheap white dress. I tilt my head at him, blinking slowly.
"Oh, hey guys!" Jaune says, walking over and smiling.
Lukas decides to cut the formalities, I guess, "Why do you have that?"
"It's in case I lose a bet." Jaune says, shrugging.
I somewhat add to the conversation, "Moment. Well, uh… Yeah."
"Yeah." Jaune repeats, and shrugs back at me.
After a moment, Lukas speaks up, "So… What's the bet?"
"Basically, if Pyrrha doesn't get asked to the dance I have to wear the dress. I mean, someone's obviously going to ask her, so there's not real risk. Still, just in case…" Jaune then holds up the dress.
Lukas and I share a glance, and I whisper, "Do we tell him?"
"Let it happen."
"Yeah…"
Jaune looks over at us, and somewhat nervously laughs, "Heh, uh, guys, what are you whispering about?"
"Well," I start, "who are you going with to the dance, anyways?"
"Oh! Uh, well, it's complicated…"
Right… Lukas and I just stare at him for a moment.
"Okay, so, kind of got rejected by Weiss, and I don't know anyone else who I'd even have a chance with."
"Lukas, I'm gonna strangle him." I say, pinching the bridge of my nose.
"It's not worth it, dude."
I let out a huff before responding, "Oh, because those words held true last time, right?"
"Well, what about you guys?" Jaune asks.
I peek up a bit, and proudly say, "I'm taking the resident bundle of darkness and brooding, personally."
"Oh, a riddle? Okay, I got this…" Jaune says before starting to think. You can tell he's doing this by the weird face he starts making while rubbing his temples.
I deflate a bit, and stammer, "Wha-what? N-not, not a riddle… Blake. I'm taking Blake."
"Ooooooh. Yeah, you guys are dating, after all. I think."
"Lukas, I'm gonna get him." Lukas has just bent over giggling at this point, and is trying to catch his breath. "No, you think I'm joking, I'm gonna fucking get him."
Jaune looks a bit sheepish, "Did I do something wrong?"
I shake my head, pause, start nodding, stop, and then shake it again. "No, just reminded me of something Levi would say." I say.
"Is that a bad thing?" Jaune asks.
"…"
"My sources say maybe." Lukas says, wiping a tear from one of his eyes.
"I… Do you guys wanna go to that café down the street? The one near the flower shop?" I ask, my brain deciding that I want a mocha.
"Sure, I guess. I take Penny there sometimes." Lukas says.
"I'm invited?" Jaune asks.
"Yeah, for sure." I say. "The rate of burning brain cells is only linear whenever I'm with my team, so maybe you can balance it out?"
"Cool! Let's go!" Jaune says, starting to walk in a random direction.
Lukas snickers, "No, uh, this way."
"Let's go this way!" Jaune says, now walking in the correct direction.
"It's still linear." Lukas says to me as he walks past.
We eventually make it to the café, and take our seats. Lukas has already bought a pastry and is snacking on it, while I text Blake my scroll about what time we're meeting up this evening, and such.
"Who are you texting?" Lukas asks.
"No one."
"Doesn't look like no one. It says "E-m-o, space, C-a-t-g-i-r-l, and then there's a greater than sign, and the number three…" Jaune says. I quickly pull my scroll away, and shoot a glare at him.
"Emo Catgirl heart emoticon? That's adorable~" Lukas says, snickering.
"Oh, will you shut up?" I glare at Lukas. "And did you really have to actually spell it out?" I ask Jaune, who shrugs while smiling.
"You did this to yourself." Lukas says.
After leaving the café, we continue down the road to the bullhead port to head back to Beacon. We pass by the flower shop mentioned earlier, and the owner, a dark skinned woman who looks like she's in her late thirty's calls out, "Mr. Canicus! I'm guessing you're here to pick up your order? That dance is tonight, isn't it?"
"Oh, uh, no ma'am, not yet. That'll be later tonight…" I slightly nervously say.
Lukas looks at the shop, and then back at the café. It clicks. "Wait… wait, wait, wait! You frequent this place don't you!"
"N-no!" I hurriedly deny.
"Yeah! That's how you knew about Penny and I! You were buying flowers for your little girlfriend and saw us walking down this very road!" Lukas exclaims, a massive smile on his face.
I rapidly shake my head and retort, "It is not! I just happe-"
"Oh yes it is! You come here every week don't you? 'Oh my dear, I have fresh flowers for you for your ones from a few days ago are wilting!' You fucking sap!"
"Aww, that's cute…" Jaune says.
I'm currently just covering my face, which is burning with embarrassment at this point. If I could be anywhere in the world right now, it would be melded to the floor and descending. I can hear the woman who owns the shop, Miss Jones, softly giggling to herself. At this point, I might as well get the flowers already, save myself the trip later. I hand over a hundred twenty five lien and then take the massive bouquet of purple roses, lilies, and tulips.
"Doge, you are actually such a fucking sap." Lukas says again.
"Oh my gods, it's not my fault that I want to show her that I appreciate her, is it?" I ask, getting tired of being relentlessly bullied by an oversized tesla coil.
"It's your fault for spending what most would spend on a week of groceries on flowers." Lukas says.
"They're very high quality flowers, thank you." I say. I'll defend Miss Jones' flowers 'till the day I die.
Later that day, closer to evening, really, I'm sitting in my dorm, pacing. The flowers are on the table, I'm in my suit, I'm supposed to go meet Blake in the courtyard in ten minutes, but by the brothers I am anxious. To be fair, I've been like this for the past few hours for no good reason, but still. There's plenty of things that could go wrong, like… My brain's still working out the details of possible mishaps, but it'll come to me eventually. Then I'll freak out about it. Anyways, I throw the seventh or so stick of gum into my mouth, and then take a sip of water. It feels like the gods themselves have blessed my mouth with coldness, and it's rather peak, in all honesty. Another thing of note, I've banned myself from any caffeinated beverages past that mocha I had several hours ago, which I seriously doubt is still in my system. Is that even important right now?
Ding!
I turn to see that my scroll's gone off, and a message from Yang has been delivered to my inbox…

End of Text Conversation
Well with that ever so reassuring conversation done, I sigh and force myself to sit down. This lasts all of five seconds before I stand back up and go to pacing. After looking at my wrist to check the time, and then remembering that I haven't owned a watch in years, I check the time on my scroll. Y'know what? Fuck it. I'm done sitting here being a nervous wreck, I'll just head to the fountain and wait for her. I grab the flowers, check myself in the mirror for the final time, spit out the current gum, throw in a fresh one, and leave.
Aight, I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.
As I step into the courtyard I see someone standing there in a deep purple dress with a thigh slit. She turns around, her raven black hair flowing behind her, and I see her amber eyes lock onto mine as a smile graces her face. Blake starts to walk over to me.
Fuck, fuck, I can't do this, I can't do this. How the actual fuck am I supposed to stand next to that? If I didn't think she was out of my league before, I definitely do now. How the hell is one person actually that pretty? I can already feel myself turning into a nervous wreck, again, and my cheeks rapidly gain a slight red tint. Even though I can see a similar hue to her cheeks, it doesn't make it that much better. There's no way in hell she's thinking the same about me, right?
…
Hey, author here, taking the reins from Doge for a moment. Not even going to leave it up to interpretation just because our lead is a moron. Blake was thinking the exact same thing, and probably to a worse degree. Anyways, back to him.
…
"Hey…" I manage to get out as she steps closer. Her eyes go up and down, taking in the suit I'm wearing, along with the purple flower brooch pinned to my breast pocket. Oh, and the massive bouquet I'm holding.
"Are those…?" she softly asks, looking at the flowers in my hand.
I nod, and hold them out for Blake. "Of course." I say, finding my voice a little. She takes them and smells them, a more prominent smile on her lips.
"Thank you…"
"No problem…"
Blake gives me a hug, and I hug her back. There's a calm moment where it's just us, the sound of water flowing in the fountain, and the moonlight…
And then it wasn't.
"Hey guys!" Sun calls out.
Blake and I let go of each other, and I can tell that the blush on her face has slightly worsened.
"Oh, uh, hey, Sun." I say, messing with one of my sleeves. As I look at him, he's basically wearing his usual outfit with a tie. Riveting. He's also holding a bowl… Like, an empty punch bowl…
"Why?" Blake asks.
"It's for Sun's Special Strawberry Surprise! My brain said I couldn't spike the punch, so I'm going to have my own bowl for it! Jade can't stop me now!"
Blake sighs, and I just blink.
"I'm gonna go set this up. See you guys at the dance!"
He then trots off, his tail swaying behind him. As he opens the door to the hall, a bit of fog spills out, and he disappears into the room. Blake and I look at one another before I offer her my hand. "Might as well join the madness, right?"
"Why not? Lead the way." Blake says.
I do so, walking just a bit faster than her due to my longer legs. Upon realizing such I slowed down, and let her catch up. We reach the door, soft music, the kind you'd hear at a fancy dance or something, can be heard. Wait. Y'know, if I ever thought before 'thinking,' I wouldn't be in a lot of situations I put myself through. Like, 'oh yeah, fancy music, I fucking wonder why?' I'm so stupid, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, because they will try.
After taking a breath, I open the door and step inside. Immediately Yang steps towards us, and tries to shove something into my hand. Out of reflex, I jump backwards, and look at what's in her hand.
"C'mooon! Better safe than sorry, lovebirds!" she says, still trying to give me the… thing.
"Yang, why? Why are you like this?" I ask. She has a whole bowl of condoms. Just… just a fucking bowl. Multicolored, different sizes. Just a godsdamned assortment.
"Because, we don't want any accidents, do we? Everyone's taking one, it's not a choice, Canicus." Yang says.
Knowing better than to argue, and also not wanting to get any weird looks, Blake takes one, and I do too. Are we going to use them? Fuck no. Like, not at all. Blake and I aren't going to jump around bases like this is an island hopping campaign.
"Uh huh… cool…" I say, just walking past. I notice a blush on Blake's cheeks, and I'm sure that there's one like it on mine too. Thank you Yang, very cool.
We head over to one of the several punch stations, where Jade is standing guard. After she rejoined society or whatever, Weiss drafted her to "watch the punch duty." Basically, Jade, with her really potent sense of smell, was trained on the general smell of alcohol, and told if any was to get into the punch, to jump whoever did it. This was accomplished by Weiss procuring a bottle of fireball whiskey from Yang. Still, Sun's there, and we watch as he ladles punch into his own bowl before dumping several small bottles of Pink Whitney vodka into the mix.
"I see… you've beat the system…" Jade says, narrowing her eyes.
Sun laughs, and stands proudly with his hands on his hips. "Damn right! Now-" He stops speaking as he watches Jade pick up the bowl, and down about half of it. She then burps, and says a small "excuse me" before walking away, deciding that her job is done.
"Well then…" I mutter. Sun looks flabbergasted, bufuzzled, hell, hornswaggled, if you will. Quite possibly bamboozled, even. I pat him on the back and speak, "Shame."
"But… but… Sun's Special Strawberry Surprise…"
"There's still half of it. Just make sure you mark it as alcoholic, alright?" Blake says.
"Okay…" Sun says, hanging his head.
"Alright, well, let's go." Blake says.
"What? Where?" I ask.
She looks at me as if I'm dumb. I mean, in this case, I am, but still. "We're going dancing, obviously."
"I… I don't know if that's a good idea…"
"And why not?"
"Well, you see…" I start before being cut off by Blake.
"Don't even start with that. You can put a hand on my hip and a hand on my shoulder and manage to not step on my feet. This won't be hard, you'll have fun, I promise."
"I'm going to butcher this somehow…"
"Look at me. No, look into my eyes, not at the floor. Good. Alright, listen, you're going to be fine. Let's just dance for a song or so, and then we can meet up with the others. Please? For me?"
"You know that's not fair, Blake."
She just nods, still looking up at me with puppy dog eyes. Fine. I can manage this. Just a song or two. After some deep breaths, I step onto the floor with her. I'm going to shorten how this went, but basically, once I managed to get the beat down (which didn't take long) I did just fine. Blake and I danced for three songs, actually, and by then most of everyone was here. My scroll dings while I'm standing next to a punch station with an arm around Blake. She looks up at me and tilts her head, "What is it?"
"I think it's Lukas…"
"You haven't even opened it. Do you guys have something going on?"
"Yeah, actually. So, you know how he's dating Penny, right?"
"No…?" Blake says, looking as I check my scroll and nod at it.
"You do now. Anyways, see how she's being guarded by those two Atlesian troops?" I say, pointing to Penny, who's doing the robot in a corner. Because that isn't on the nose or anything.
"Yeah…?"
"Well, watch this…" On cue, the lights shut off, and everything goes quiet for a split second. If one were to listen close, they'd be able to hear a small crackle of electricity during the moment of darkness. As the lights come back on, Penny's gone, and one of the windows in the hall is open.
"Wow." Blake says.
"So peak…" I say, a proud smile on my lips.
Everything goes back to normal after a moment, the soldiers not even noticing that Penny's been snatched up. No, actually, they did, but I think they're just pretending that they didn't notice. Some slower music begins to play, I turn to Blake, and just hold out my hand.
"Well, might as well go again, yeah?"
"Hmm… sure." Blake says, allowing me to lead her to the floor again. I place a hand on her shoulder, and a hand on her hip as we dance to the music. Luckily I'm very good at keeping beat, so I'm just stepping side to side and smiling. Blake, a little put off by my new confidence, takes a moment to adjust, but she does, and all goes well. There's a moment where everything seems to slow down while I look at her lips, shifting my gaze back to her, I lean a bit close to her. I notice her eyes looking down at my lips for a moment, and she smiles. She leans closer, resting a hand on my chest, and then…
The music shifts, like, hard. It goes from this soft and intimate kind of music to some funky jazz type music. Auditory-whiplash aside, I look over to see what's going on. "What?" I softly ask near under my breath. I'm then treated to seeing Jaune in the white dress from earlier, taking Pyrrha by the hand. With everything going on in the moment, I forget why he would be wearing a dress, and speak a little louder this time, "What?" Then the entirety of Team JPNR starts to dance perfectly in sync, while the music continues. Blake and I look positively lost, and I almost stop using my inside voice, "What?!"
The moment's dead. Like, brought out back and put down with a shotgun dead. I'm disappointed, Blake's disappointed, and everyone else is cheering JPNR on. Blake looks at me with this kind of look in her eyes that says the same thing that I'm feeling, 'Of all the times, now?' Simply shaking my head, she leans against me and sighs.
"Do you want to leave?" Blake softly asks.
"No, no, we can stick it out a little longer. Once a few people leave though, I'd be alright with heading… Wait, no, Lukas wants to have a little after party in the Team DAIS dorm. Are you coming?"
"I'll think about it…" Blake says.
I nod. "That's alright with me."
Then, because of course, Neptune walks over and speaks, "Well hello there you lovely lady! And Doge. How's the night going?" he asks, looking at Blake a helluva lot more than me.
"Umm, well, it's going alright, I guess…" Blake says.
"And you?" he asks, acknowledging me.
"It's fine."
"Great!" the blue haired fuckboy exclaims. "Well, would you mind if I had a dance? Just a quick one, I promise."
"What?" Blake asks.
Neptune, apparently not expecting confusion as the reply, loses a bit of confidence. "Oh, well, it's fine if you say no, I just-"
"Okay, wait, let me get this straight. So, you see me, who you know is dating him, dancing together, and decide that you can have a turn? What am I? Some object for you to fight over?" Blake asks, clearly not in the mood for Neptune's anything.
"Well, no, but-"
"And that's your answer. 'Well, no.' Go bother someone else." Blake says, putting her back to Neptune. Neptune just slinks off to find someone else to try and hit on.
"Damn, I kind of like it when you get like that…" I admit.
She smirks and shrugs. "Couldn't have him ruin our night, could I?"
"He's basically harmless. Just dumb. And a fuckboy… Yeah, nevermind, good on you, Hon."
"Thank you! Now, where were we?"
"Dancing?"
"No, no, the other thing."
"Oh… y'know what? Some point tonight, I promise."
"Mmm…"
"I'd rather not force it, it'll happen, I'm sure." I reassure her, along with gently squeezing her shoulder.
"It better."
"Okay, no, don't 'it better' me." I say, looking down at her.
"Mmm…"
"Anyways, people are starting to leave. Are you going to come to the after party?" I ask.
"Yeah. You owe me something, and I'm getting it." Blake proudly says, all the while proudly shoving her face into my shoulder.
"Alright. Attitude. But yeah, you probably will." I say.
"Do you want to take a seat for a little bit?" she asks.
"Yeah, that's fine…" I say, sitting down in one of the many chairs that line the walls.
Yang's voice can suddenly be heard over the speakers, "Alright everyone! So, this next song is for a very special someone, and I'm sure she's going to love it! You know who you are!"
Haha. Ha. What?
Blake looks horrified as a MDR song starts to play, Helena to be exact, and turns to me. "Doge… is that…?"
"We're leaving."
"Agreed."
And that's indeed that. Not sticking around for that bullshit, we get up and leave. If anyone notices us rushing out, I don't notice. Blake follows close to my side, and we start to make our way to the dorms. We pass the bench that the flowers were left on, stop so that Blake can pick them up, and then we carry on.
We're the first to arrive at the Team DAIS dorm, so after unlocking the door and stepping inside, I just lay down on the couch, deciding to take a little break. Blake decides to do the same thing, but lays down on me. With nothing better to do, I start to gently run my hand through her hair. Blake, to be expected at this point, starts softly purring while snuggling against my chest.
The door's thrown open, and Yang's booming voice can be heard, "Hello party people!"
Silence.
Yang then sighs. "Oh, it's just Blake and Doge…"
"Are they sleeping?" Levi asks, stepping into the room holding a cup of punch. At some point, he, along with Yang, managed to get his hands on some of the Sun's Special Strawberry Surprise, or S.S.S.S., if you will.
"No… we're awake… I'm awake…" Blake murmurs.
"Likewise…" I say.
Ruby and Weiss step into the room next, with Ruby immediately removing her heels. "Ugh, those things are so uncomfortable! How do you even fight in these?" Ruby asks.
"It's not that hard, you just… get used to it?" Weiss says, moving over to the couch. Before she can sit down, though, she sees Blake and I sprawled out, snuggled up to one another. Weiss sighs before grabbing a blanket off of the nearby recliner and tossing it over us.
"Thanks…" I say, still at the point between being awake and being asleep.
Lukas eventually shows up, alone. He immediately tears off the tie and slams it onto the beanbag chair. Lukas then flops on top of the chair and sighs.
After sitting up, somewhat to Blake's annoyance, I ask Lukas a question, "So, what happened to your date?"
"Oh, she… had a strict curfew." Lukas says, moving his head to the side so that he can be clearly heard. No eye contact though. He then starts removing his suit jacket and carefully sets it on one of the beds.
"Shame, shame…" I say, laying back down. Blake hums as I do so, and goes back to her previous position.
Eventually, eventually, Jade shows up… with a guy. Some dude I may have seen before, but I don't know his name. Unfortunately for Blake, this catches my attention, and I sit up. Blake grumbles, but decides to be content just laying on my side. Before anyone can ask anything, Jade speaks, clearly buzzed, "Hello friends! Meet Flower!"
The boy, Flower, looks about seventeen, average height, pale white skin, like, Weiss level pale white. He has scraggly, blond, shoulder length hair, red eyes, and a bit of fluff around his neck and going down into his shirt. Now, I don't mean body fat, no, actually fluff. Like, the kind you see on a moth. He's a moth faunus, isn't he? I'm not just going to ask, because that would be rude.
"H-have I been abducted?" Flower asks. The boy does not look like he's here willingly. I can practically smell the social anxiety on him. Takes one to know one.
"No, silly, we're friends now. I can't abduct you." Jade says before giggling.
"I- Bu- Okay." Flower resigns.
"So…" I start. "How'd… how'd this happen?"
Jade giggles, and speaks, "He had a funny soul color, and I liked it… He's… he's funny…"
"She found me and said that exactly. She wasn't as tipsy then, but still…" Flower says, avoiding eye contact with anything except for the wall. Not that the wall has eyes, but still.
"She do be like that." Levi says.
Yang dreamily mumbles, "Gods, you're so stupid…"
"Okay, right, so who in here isn't drunk?" Weiss asks. Blake, Lukas, Ruby, Flower, and I raise our hands. At some point, Levi starts to, but is smacked on the arm that he was trying to raise by Yang. "Great. That's more than I expected from you. Especially you, Lukas. For all the antics you get up to, underage drinking isn't one of them?"
Lukas gets this sorta distant look in his eyes and shakes his head. "No… no, uh, not me…" he says somewhat quietly.
"Oh…" Weiss says, catching some kind of drift. I'm not catching it, but whatever.
Some time passes before Lukas perks up again. "Oh yeah!" Lukas exclaims, sitting up in the beanbag. "Doge, dude, I gotta tell you something!"
"Alright, mood shift, sure, let's hear it?" I say, sitting up once more, much to the overgrown housecat's dissatisfaction.
"Okay, so, Penny, right?"
"Uh huh." I say, nodding.
"Well, after I snuck her out, we went to the balcony and danced for a bit, I played some music on my scroll and such." he says while moving to sit down on the arm of the sofa.
"Alright."
"And unlike you I had the balls to kiss my girlfriend."
"Alright motherfucker- And do not 'swear jar' me Ruby!" I say, first at Lukas and second at, well, take a guess. Blake and Lukas are both just staring at me, and I sigh. "What did you want me to do? Every time I almost did, the damn moment was ruined."
Blake begrudgingly nods in agreement, and lays back down. At some point while we were talking, Jade dragged Flower to one of the beds, and is holding him extremely close. Like, the poor guy is being smushed against her body, specifically chest. Jade almost sounds like she's chittering, almost? Basically rabbitsound.mp4. Ruby's currently wearing her headphones and reading a magazine on weapon smithing, Weiss is just sitting there with this contemplative look on her face, and Lukas has returned to the beanbag.
"Yeah, no, I'm done waiting. Let's go." Yang suddenly says, dragging Levi out of the room.
"I, uh, yes ma'am." he chirps, allowing himself to be dragged. Anyone who notices this raises an eyebrow, but it's mostly just ignored. Everyone more or less goes to doing their own thing, or having contained conversations.
A minute or so passes, and Blake looks into my eyes and smiles. She rests a hand on my chest and pushes herself up a little. I rest a hand on her cheek, and start to lean in a little. She crawls a bit closer, and parts her lips while starting to tilt her head, and then…
She pulls back, and her head swivels to the wall, the one that's between this room and Team RWBY's. Jade and Flower, the other two faunus, are both staring dead at the wall with similar expressions. "Don't tell me that they're actually…" Blake murmurs.
"What?" I ask, letting my hand fall off of her cheek.
Suddenly, everyone can hear, "HOOOOLY SCHMOOOOLY!" through the wall, from Levi.
Jade stands up, fists clenched, and growls, "I'm gonna fucking kill him!" Flower falls down, and just stays down.
"They're not…" Weiss says, horrified.
Levi can be heard again, "YANG! PLEASE! HA-A-AVE ME-E-ERCY!"
"WHAT MAMA WANTS! MAMA GETS!" is heard from Yang.
"Are they even fucking dating?!" I hiss through clenched teeth, a red hue on my face. I feel the subconscious need to slightly distance myself from Blake on account of what's going on in there.
"YANG! PLEASE! IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN A MO-O-O-ONTH!"
"Guess that answers that…" Lukas sighs, standing up.
By now, we can hear an assortment of… "sounds" coming from the duet in RWBY's dorm. Jade picks up Flower, and leaves, presumably to her room. "I no longer care about friendship. I'm going lay down. You're coming with me."
Flower almost protests, "I…" but gives in, "Yes ma'am..."
Ruby goes to take off her headphones, but Lukas clamps his hands over them and keeps them on. He takes a step back and makes a bunch of hand gestures. I recognize one to be the sign for "trust," so maybe he's telling her to not take off her headphones and to trust him? Or something? I always forget that Lukas knows sign language, because I certainly don't.
"YANG! SLOW DOWN!" Levi yells.
I lose my temper, stand up, slam my fist into the wall, and shout, "KEEP IT DOWN YOU FUCKERS!" as a flurry of embers falls down around me. The "sounds" don't stop, but we don't hear their voices anymore. After taking a moment to cool off, I turn around, "Anyone who wants to stay the night in Lukas or I's dorm, you're invited." I say. Lukas nods. Weiss looks about ready to vomit, Blake's pissed, and Ruby doesn't hear me, thank the gods. We all unanimously decide to leave, and as we step out into the hall, we see Team JPNR staring at the door to Team RWBY's dorm, all horrified, and Jaune still in a dress. We just wave them over, and take them with us to the other side of campus.
"Sooooo…" Ruby starts, having taken off her headphones when we passed the fountain. "…what happened?"
"Your sister's a disaster." Blake says.
"Oh." Ruby says. She then gets this look in her eyes. "Oh."
"Moving on…" Pyrrha starts. "What are the sleeping arrangements going to be?"
"Well, I have my bed, a couch, and a recliner." I say. "Bed's mine and the cat's, so that leaves the sofa and chair."
"I can take the couch." Weiss says.
"I'd be okay with the recliner." Ren says.
"I'd be okay with anywhere. When you have seven sisters you learn how to adapt." Jaune says.
"Okay, great." I say.
Lukas speaks next, "I have basically the same."
"I'll take the sofa!" Ruby says.
"Pyrrha and I can share the recliner!" Nora shouts enthusiastically.
"I could work with that." Pyrrha says, nodding.
I nod. "Okay, lovely."
Everyone makes it to the teacher dorms, and luckily we don't run into any faculty. After telling the other party goodnight, we head into my dorm. Deciding to get it out of the way, I lay out the few rules that I have, "So, everything's on limits. Snacks, drinks, whatever. Don't break anything, and if you need something, just knock. Blake and I aren't Yang and Levi, so don't worry about that. Any questions?"
Jaune nods, and raises his hand. "Uhh, do we have any blankets?"
"Amazing question. I'll be right back." I say, heading into my room. I grab a bunch of blankets from my closest, and a few from my bed. After stepping back out, I set them on the top of my dryer. "Here you go. I trust that you can divvy these up yourselves. Any other questions?"
Nope.
"Great. Goodnight, guys."
"Sleep well." Ren says.
"Night!" Jaune calls out.
Weiss sighs. "Goodnight. Don't be dumb."
"We won't. Goodnight, everyone." Blake says, heading into my room. She shuts and locks the door behind me, and I pull a Lukas. I take off my tie, shoes, belt, and suit jacket. After I carefully set down the jacke, I sit down on the bed, and look over at Blake. The LED lights are casting a purple glow on her features as she moves towards me. She straddles my legs, and leans forward. "No more… anything…" Blake softly says in a slightly husky tone. The look in her eyes practically screams "want."
"Yeah, about time…" I say. At this point, if there's another interruption, I might lose it. One of my hands rests on her cheek as she leans in, and the other goes around her waist. I can hear a small breath leave her as she parts her lips. As she tilts her head I look into her eyes, my lips part, and…
We actually managed to kiss this time.
Okay, so, why did this chapter take a few millenia? Great question! Anyways, hope you enjoyed this one!
On a real note, life has been... life... so chapters aren't going to have as strict of deadlines going forth to prevent this kind of situation. Now, I doubt anything will take longer than two months, but even then, I'm not just going to fade off of the face of the internet with no explanation. Even if I do, I'm sure one of my friends would be able to leave a comment and explain, lol.
That being said, I'll see you gamers next time, thank you for your patience!
(Btw, I (and my beta readers) found a missing letter and it pissed me off, so that's what the update is. This is a moment.)
