CHAPTER 35

"You heard the sub-humans are retreating?" asked one Begnion soldier.

"Yes, I did." said another Begnion soldier bearing a mustache.

The soldiers admitted that without the likeness of General Zelgius, Begnion had absolutely nothing to fear.

"Ahem! Attention, soldiers of Begnion!" yelled Levail.

"At your service, Levail, sir!" one Begnion soldier said with a salute.

"This is not the time for idle chitter chatter." Levail said. "Merely it is alright that you praise Zelgius for his prowess in battle."

"That's what we were doing, good sir Levail!" yelled a soldier as he continued to salute to Levail.

"Well, nothing is to fear when Zelgius is here." said another soldier. "We can't fear those filthy, dirty sub-humans with a soldier like him around."

Meanwhile with the Senate, one senator dressed in yellow was irritated that Zelgius killed one laguz soldier and ended the battle. The senator never cared for "petty victory", but he wanted to know exactly who gave Zelgius such an order.

"Sir, I was hoping that would have been the end of the sub-human furries and featheries once and for all." said one general. "But I don't supposedly think we can punish Zelgius for winning a battle like that. It would truly be harsh indeed." said the soldier.

"Enough!" yelled the Senator as he slapped the general across the face. "It should be taken into account that Zelgius and Apostle Sanaki are mockeries to the Begnion Senate! I have absolutely had enough of those two brats!" yelled the senator with a proclamation about Zelgius and Sanaki.

"So what are you saying truly?" asked the general.

"They are more of a threat to Tellius than those filthy, bastardous sub-humans!" yelled the senator.

"...Might I suggest fixing this painful situation, my lord?" asked the general. "Surely with me at the lead, I can give Begnion what they truly desire the most."

"...That does sound like a good idea, I say…" said the senator. "But…didn't General Zelgius order all the forces to cease war for a total of three days?" asked the senator.

"Are you just going to follow Zelgius' orders?" asked the general. "Because I don't know what his exact law is here." he said.

"Well, I do see your point." said the senator. "Alright. Make Begnion proud. For Begnion."

"For Begnion!" yelled the general.

Back with Ike and the heron laguz Prince Reyson, they were waiting for a response from a few people. As Ranulf started to retreat, Tibarn and his hawk men were gathering information on Zelgius' troops. Ike was also taked with taking Reyson back to Gallia where he will be safe, since the Heron Laguz are considered weak as they cannot fight in battle. However, Reyson refused to leave the area.

"What are you saying?" asked Ike. We have to get you back to Gallia."

"The hawk tribe is considered my family…I've lived with them for twenty years…I will assist alongside you." said Reyson.

"I see." Ike said. "Very well. You can join up with us."

"Thank you, Commander Ike." said Reyson as he bowed down.

"As for the Greil Mercenaries….we can stay here as long as we want." Ike said. "As long as we are free agents, and we're not on anyone's payroll, everything is fine up until one point in time."

Time had passed. Titania, deputy of the Greil Mercenaries, went to tell Ike that the Begnion Army was in the presence of the army. Ike quickly rushed outside.

"Oh, no…" Ike said.

"It hasn't even been three days and they are here, Ike." said Titania.

"What in the world?" asked Reyson.

"Seems like they gave zero cares." said Soren "It's probably because they want their castle back. If we end up not complying, we are going to get attacked." Soren proclaimed.

"They were probably waiting for the hawk tribe and the beast laguz to retreat from the area." Reyson suspected.

"So they think they can take us now that we have no laguz?" asked Ike.

"They don't even know who they're going up against." said Soren.

"Soren's right." said Titania. "So what are we going to do?"

"We're making sure they remember the name of the Greil Mercenaries." Ike answered Titania. "Get everyone into position." ordered Ike.

"I'll gather up the troops." said Titania. "Soren's coming with me." she said.

Titania and Soren later went to gather up the rest of the Greil Mercenaries and selected allies.

"Hmph." said Kamaria. "Should have known."

"What happened?" asked Cecily.

"Look down there." said Kamaria. "Soldiers are after the Greil Mercenaries."

"But…you are one of their members…" said Cecily.

"Well, I was out doing business in Gallian territory." said Kamaria. "I think this is the time we show these people who the real bosses are when it comes to mercenaries." Kamaria said as she swooped down to the ground to skewer the soldiers.

"Wait for me!" yelled Cecily. "Laguz soldiers, you know the drill."

"Yes, Cecily!" yelled Talyana.

"We're on your side, Lady Cecily!" yelled Swan. "Craine, come on!"

"I'm on it!" yelled Craine.

"Looks like the Greil Mercenaries' company will be roaring throughout the nations of Tellius." said Cecily as she was swooping down on the soldiers. All her bird laguz soldiers transformed into their animal forms; those that could attack attacked the soldiers.

"Damn it!" yelled one soldier.

"Sub-humans!" yelled another soldier.

"Don't get your guard down!" yelled the general. "We have to focus!"

As Kamaria was dodging arrows and wind magic, Haar came up right behind her.

"Oh, hi, Haar." said Kamaria. "Here, have a vulnerary." she said as she flew away.

"Well, I did need one." said Haar. He later flew away to deal with more soldiers.

Meanwhile, with the general himself, he was outraged and beyond furious that his soldiers were being killed by the Greil Mercenaries and their then charged right for Ike, but Soren stopped him with a magical combination of Elwind and , despite the power of the wind magic, it didn't make a critical kill on the general.

"You fools!" yelled the general.

Mia sighed. "It didn't kill you, you bastard?" asked Mia.

"Hmph." said the general. "Worthless fools."

"Tough talk from you." said Ike. "Allow me to fix you up a little bit."

"Wait…what are you doing?!" asked the general.

Ike, having remembered a skill from his late father Greil, killed the general.

"Retreat!" yelled one of the general's halberdiers.
