As the morning sun slowly rises, its gentle rays filter through the bedroom window of the Corcoran-July household, casting a warm and golden glow across the room. Rachel, one of the two teenage girls in the household, stirs from her slumber, her eyes slowly fluttering open as she awakens to a brand new day. With a soft yawn, she stretches and reaches for her belongings, mentally preparing herself for the day ahead, fully aware that a day at school awaits her.

Rachel's steps are light and happy as she descends the stairs. As she reaches the bottom, she greets her sister Cassie with a cheerful "Good morning" and plants a soft kiss on her cheek. Cassie, still a bit groggy, returns the greeting and asks Rachel why she's in such high spirits this morning.

With a radiant smile on her face, Rachel explains, "I had a restful night's sleep, and I'm feeling excited because I have a report to do in English. I can't wait to turn in my essay," she says, her enthusiasm evident in her voice.

"You will definitely excel in your essay, honey," Cassie assured, gently touching her daughter's shoulder. "Go ahead and eat. I'll take you to school once everyone else has finished breakfast.

" Rachel's agreement was accompanied by a subtle nod, her lips forming a small, graceful smile as she made her way to the kitchen. The morning sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm, golden glow over the room. She opened the cupboard with a gentle pull and carefully selected a beautiful bowl adorned with delicate floral patterns, each petal and leaf intricately detailed. The morning light caught the subtle hues and shadows of the patterns, emphasizing the bowl's elegance and craftsmanship.

From the refrigerator, she plucked a handful of ripe strawberries, their vibrant red hues glistening with freshness, each tiny seed visible on their surface. Alongside the strawberries, she added a handful of plump grapes, their deep purple skins almost sparkling under the soft kitchen light, each grape carefully chosen for its plumpness and ripeness. With a sense of care, she gave them a quick rinse under the running water, the droplets clinging to their smooth surfaces, refracting the light in tiny prisms, before placing them in the bowl, arranging them thoughtfully to create a visually appealing display.

Settling at the table, she took a moment to appreciate the tranquil morning atmosphere. As she lifted the first strawberry to her lips, she savored the sensation of the sweet, juicy flavors bursting in her mouth, each bite a delightful symphony of tastes and textures. The strawberry's juicy flesh yielded easily to her bite, releasing a burst of sweetness that mingled with the slight tartness of the skin, creating a harmonious blend of flavors.

Soon, the sound of light footsteps and cheerful morning greetings filled the air as her sisters entered the kitchen. Among them, Santana, with her preference for a quiet start to the day, carefully prepared her own bowl of strawberries and oatmeal, finding solace in the peaceful routine of her morning meal. Shelby, their mother, entered the kitchen, her presence exuding warmth and love as she greeted each girl with a tender kiss on the top of her head, her gentle touch leaving a lingering sense of comfort and security.

With a gentle touch, she pulled Rachel aside, expressing her wish to have a conversation before Rachel left for school, the concern evident in her eyes and the tone of her voice. Rachel, with a mixture of curiosity and concern, followed her mother to the couch where they sat down, the soft cushions yielding to their weight. Cassie, her other mom, joined them, her bright eyes reflecting a mixture of innocence and curiosity as she settled in next to Rachel, her small hand finding comfort in Rachel's reassuring grasp.

As I sat down to reflect on the heartfelt conversation that took place yesterday, I found myself engulfed in the complexity of the relationship between Shelby and Rachel. The sincerity in Shelby's eyes as they met Rachel's gaze, and the deep lines of concern etched on her face, made it clear that the conversation held significant weight.

With a soft and contemplative voice, Rachel acknowledged Shelby's concerns and expressed her understanding of the situation. She acknowledged the fact that Shelby had three children before she even entered the picture, recognizing the intricate dynamics within the family.

Shelby, with a mix of regret and hope in her tone, affirmed Rachel's place as her daughter and expressed her desire to mend their relationship. She took responsibility for the resentment that Rachel harbored towards her, acknowledging that she hadn't made an effort to build a relationship with her.

In response, Rachel shared the deep-rooted feelings of resentment that she had held, particularly towards Shelby and her other mother, Cassie, prioritizing their sister Tiger over her. Her eyes reflected a blend of emotions as she expressed her past struggles and pain.

Taking a moment to reflect, Shelby's face became filled with remorse as she admitted to the hurtful words and actions that had caused Rachel pain. She expressed genuine regret for her past behavior and acknowledged Rachel's unique qualities, likening them to her other daughters'.

Cassie, with a warm smile directed at Rachel, also extended her sincere apology, acknowledging her past missteps and expressing her desire to move forward positively.

Rachel, appreciative of their honest apologies, expressed her desire to deepen their relationships. She conveyed her willingness to get to know both Shelby and Cassie better, signaling a step forward in their journey towards reconciliation.

In a heartwarming moment, Shelby proposed spending one-on-one time with Rachel over the weekend, expressing her desire to strengthen their bond. Rachel, visibly touched, accepted the invitation with honor, and they all shared a warm embrace before Cassie accompanied Rachel to school at 7:30 am.

As the room quieted down, Shelby walked back into the kitchen and sat down beside Santana, fixing her plate. With a gentle tone, she expressed her desire to have a conversation with Santana after school. Santana, feeling uncertain, inquired if she had done something wrong, to which Shelby reassured her and explained that they simply needed to talk after school.

Santana, still unsure, turned her attention back to her cellphone, her curiosity piqued by the impending conversation.

In the morning, Shelby drove her three children to school. She dropped each of them off at their respective classes before heading to her own classroom to teach English.

Rachel confidently turned in her essay as soon as she arrived in her second period class. She then joined Kurt and Mercedes at their desks and engaged in a lively chat.

Meanwhile, chaos erupted at Carmel High as Kitty and Quinn engaged in a heated argument, resulting in a physical altercation. Shelby and Cassie swiftly intervened, clearing the hallway and directing students back to their classrooms. When Santana made a comment, Cassie promptly reprimanded her and demanded an apology, which Santana quickly provided. Cassie then instructed Santana to proceed to her class and firmly addressed Kitty and Quinn, ordering them to accompany Shelby to her classroom. Both teenagers hesitated, but Cassie's authoritative tone left no room for negotiation. As they reluctantly followed their moms to Cassie's dance studio, she closed the door behind them, ensuring privacy for their discussion.

The situation at the school was tense. Cassie asked, "What's going on? Why were you two thinking about fighting?"

Kitty responded, "It's Quinn's fault. She slapped me first."

Shelby intervened calmly, "Let's not raise our voices. Kit, please explain to us what happened and why your sister slapped you."

"I'm sorry for yelling, Mama," Kitty said. "Quinn knew that I had told you she skipped class, and when I confronted her about it, she slapped me hard across my face."

Quinn countered, "Don't blame everything on me, Kitty. You called me an ungrateful, selfish person who only cares about myself. That's why I slapped you back. Let's be honest about what happened.".

"Both of you are in the wrong here, and either one of you should have come to get one of us before it escalated to a fight in school," Cassie said in a stern tone, her hands on her hips.

"We expected all of you to behave in school and not get into a physical fight with each other. We're not going to let this slide; you're both going to receive a spanking for your actions today," Shelby added, her tone firm and unwavering.

"Mom, Mama, it's Quinn's fault. She cornered me in the hallway. Why should I get punished for what Quinn did?" Kitty started whining, her eyes welling up with tears as she pleaded her case.

"Quit being such a crybaby, Kitty," Quinn snapped

"Quinn, please don't disrespect your sister while I'm trying to calm her down," Shelby said in a gentle but firm tone, reaching out to touch Kitty's chin. Quinn hung her head, feeling the weight of her mistake, as Shelby turned to address her directly. "You made the choice to engage in a conflict with your sister at school, and you should have chosen your words more carefully, especially with Quinn."

"Quinn, you need to understand that your actions have consequences, and you earned your punishment," Shelby continued, her voice conveying a mix of disappointment and concern. Quinn let out a frustrated sigh, realizing the gravity of the situation, and offered a sincere apology to her family. Meanwhile, Kitty walked off with Cassie, for her spanking.

Shelby then turned her attention back to Quinn, knowing that discipline was necessary. With a heavy heart, she administered a swift but firm 20 swat to Quinn's bottom, hoping that it would serve as a reminder to make better choices in the future.

After their spankings, Cassie walked Kitty to her last period and explained to her teacher why she was late. Kitty felt uncomfortable sitting at her desk. Meanwhile, Quinn experienced a similar feeling when Shelby accompanied her back to her history class.

As the school bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, Santana waited at her desk until everyone left the English class, which happened to be taught by her mom.

As the last student left, Shelby calmly asked Tiger to sit in the front so they could talk. Santana moved to the first row after putting her book in her backpack.

"Mom, what do you want to talk to me about?" Santana asked her mom as she sit down innone of the desk in the front row

""Before I talk to you, I wanted to tell you I didn't find it funny about what you said in the hallway to your sisters," Shelby started firmly, gesturing for Santana to sit down next to her on the chair. Santana settled in, her expression serious, ready to listen.

"I'm sorry for using those words you don't like in front of you. I can't promise you I won't do it again, Mom," Santana said, her eyes filled with remorse, her voice reflecting her sincerity.

"I'd rather not hear those words come out of your mouth at all, Tiger," Shelby said, touching her daughter's hand gently, trying to convey her love and concern. Santana nodded her head, understanding her mother's point.

"I know you wanted to spend quality time with me, and I wanted that too very much."

"Yes, you said we will after our talk at Nana's house," Santana said, a hint of hope in her voice, reminiscing about their earlier plans and feeling a longing for that connection.

"Yes, I did say that we will but I've to break our agreement this week seeing disappointment written all over Santana's face," Shelby continued, noticing her daughter's change in demeanor.

"I mean, Santana, that I have something else that I need to do," Shelby explained, hoping for understanding from her daughter.

Santana's face fell, and she asked, "Is there any way we can reschedule for another time?"

"I'll do my best to make it up to you, sweetheart. I promise," Shelby reassured her, wanting to mend the disappointment she caused.

"Does it have anything to do with Rachel, Kitty, or Quinn?" Santana asked her mom, trying to understand her mother's sudden change in plans.

"Yes, it does have to do with one of them, but I can't say who it is," Shelby said honestly, feeling the weight of her words.

Santana moved her hand from her mom, a mix of disappointment and curiosity on her face, her emotions playing across her features.

"Why can't you tell me, Mom?" Santana asked, hurt and confusion evident in her voice, wanting to understand her mother's decision.

"Rachel needs me right now, and I hope you can understand, Tiger, why I'm doing this," Shelby said, her voice tinged with sadness as she reached out to touch Santana's hand, hoping for her daughter's understanding. Santana, upset with her mom, moved her hand away, feeling the disappointment of being second to someone else once again. She stood up, grabbed her backpack, and ran out of the classroom with her mom yelling for her to come back. As she dashed through the hallway, her frustration and confusion overwhelmed her. Upon reaching the parking lot, she spotted Quinn and Kitty getting into their mom's car. Without a word, Santana climbed into the backseat, her face a mask of upset, and buckled her seatbelt, the tension in the air palpable.

Cassie carefully maneuvered her car out of the school parking lot, stealing a quick glance in the rearview mirror to check on Santana and Kitty, who were seated in the back. Santana appeared visibly upset, with furrowed brows and downcast eyes. Sensing her distress, Kitty leaned in and asked gently, "What's wrong?"

Santana snapped back, "None of your business."

Cassie, maintaining her composure, intervened, "I understand you're upset, but I won't allow you to talk to your sister like that. Tiger, I need you to apologize to her," she said, her eyes fixed on the road ahead.

"I'm sorry, Kit," Santana muttered, her voice lacking confidence.

After dropping them off at home, Cassie headed to William McKinley High School to pick up Rachel. As they settled down to work on their homework, Quinn noticed Santana's lingering frustration and asked, "Santana, what's bothering you?"

"I don't want to talk about it," Santana replied, pressing hard on her paper. After completing her work, she retreated to her bedroom, seeking solitude.

Upon their return home, before Shelby had even put her things away, Quinn expressed her concern. "San is very upset and hasn't come out of her room since finishing her homework and having a snack."

"I'm worried about that too," Shelby said. "Did she mention why she's upset?"

"No," Quinn replied.

"She's upset with me, and I need to talk to her," Shelby said, making her way to Santana's bedroom and knocking on the door. "Come in," Santana said, laying on her bed and staring at the wall. Shelby walked in, sat down beside Santana, and gently touched her shoulder. "I'm really sorry you're feeling this way," Shelby began.

"I feel like I'm always coming in second in this house," Santana lashed out. "Could you please leave my room? I don't want to talk right now."

"That's not true, Tiger, and you know how much I love all of you very much," Shelby said sadly, getting up.

"Not as much as you love the others in this house," Santana snapped, closing her bedroom door.

After Shelby left Santana's bedroom, she went to her own bedroom that she shares with her wife, Cassie, and sat down in a chair. "Santana is so mad at me that she won't even look at me," she said sadly.

"Let her cool off. She will talk to you," Cassie reassured her.

"I hope you're right, babe. Do you think I made a good choice by spending time with Rachel? Now Santana thinks that she's coming in second to all the girls in this house," Shelby expressed her concern.

"We haven't been spending quality time with her like we used to before Kitty, Quinn, and Rachel moved in with us," Cassie explained. "Now she's feeling like we've abandoned her, which isn't true. We're planning on spending time with all of them separately."

"Thank you for cheering me up," Shelby said.

"That's what I'm here for," Cassie said confidently.

"That's what I'm here for," Cassie said confidently.

After a few hours of enjoying each other's company, they all gathered around the dining table, which was beautifully set with a spread of delicious baked salmon, perfectly seasoned roasted vegetables, and fluffy brown rice. The meal was accompanied by refreshing glasses of water and freshly squeezed juice. Despite everyone's attempts to engage her in conversation, Santana remained visibly upset and refused to interact with anyone at the table. When Rachel asked Santana about her day at school, Santana simply grunted and ignored her, leaving Rachel no choice but to seek help from Shelby and Cassie.

"Hey Tiger Cassie," spoke up, Rachel asked you about your day. It's rude not to respond when someone is talking to you."

"I don't care," Santana retorted, pushing her plate away and storming off up the stairs.

Confused by Santana's recent behavior, Rachel turned to her parents and asked, "What's wrong with her?"

Shelby explained, "She's mad at me, and she's taking her anger out on you."

"Why is she mad at you? You didn't do anything," Rachel said, as Quinn and Kitty looked on, equally puzzled by Santana's behavior.

"It's a long story," Shelby said.

After dinner, Kitty and Quinn took charge of cleaning up the dining room, while Rachel prepared for bed and enjoyed a game of checkers with Shelby. As Rachel and Shelby played, Santana made her way downstairs and saw them, feeling upset, and quietly retreated to her room to get ready for bed.
