Sick Day:
(Okay, next one! This was actually inspired by me being sick a couple weeks back. About Zeke's birthday, I'm not too sure when it would be. I'm still hoping for a sequel to the movie, too. Here's hoping it takes place more than one year after the first. Anyways, enjoy the chapter)
The Bad Guys hung around their old base. "I'm making scrambled eggs, does anyone want any?" Shark asked, "I'll take one, Shark!" Wolf said, walking up to his son's to room. "Kiddo! Time to wake up!" Wolf knocked on the door, he heard the morning whines of the rabbit.
"Sorry, Zekey, I can't let ya sleep in for too long." Wolf said, "Can I come in?"
"Dad, Tío's launching pies at a chicken with tabasco again…" Wolf heard Zeke mutter, Wolf looked confused. "Kiddo, what are you talking about?" Wolf asked, opening the door. "Huh?" Wolf was surprised to see that Zeke was still sound asleep. "Son, come on, it's noon. It's time to wake up." Wolf said, checking to see if he was coming down with something. "Nooo…Shermy and Pabu are firebending…Uncle Lou, stop flying like a chicken and…help me stop them…" Zeke muttered. Wolf could feel Zeke was burning up a little, he wretched when he could feel sweat. Everything the boy was saying was coming from a fever dream, "No worries, kiddo. I'll go get you some medicine." Wolf said, walking back to the kitchen.
Shark looked confused, "Whatcha looking for, Wolfy?" he asked, "A thermometer, and some vitamin c gummies." Wolf explained, picking up the thermometer. "Is Zeke okay?" Tarantula asked, "He might have a fever." Wolf explained, "Gotta check first." Shark looked real worried, and Snake slithered away, "Where are you going?" Shark asked, "Away from here. I'm not catching whatever the kid has." Snake said, he was ready to quarantine himself if he needed to. "Dude, seriously? If it's just a fever, then Wolf keeps Zeke in his room." Webs explained. Snake rolled his eyes, "Whatever." Wolf came back, "Yeah, he's got a fever. I'm gonna go get some vitamin gummies, since we're out." Wolf said, saying bye before heading into the elevator. "Watch him while I'm gone!" Wolf lastly said.
Shark finished making a few scrambled eggs, before putting Wolf's share in the microwave. "All right, no one go into Zekey's room. We each run the risk of getting infected."
"G'mornin, g…" they heard a youthful voice call out, barely. "O-Oh. Good morning, buddy!" Shark said. "How're you feelin', bud?" Tarantula asked. "Aunt Webs, why are you a giant unicorn?" Zeke asked, his voice sounding sore.
"I-uh, what?" Tarantula asked, more weirded out. "He's probably still half asleep." Piranha said. Tarantula nodded, "I'm not a unicorn, kiddo. Why don't you head back to bed?" Zeke went to the fridge. "Nice and cool…" Zeke said, "Zekey, you go sit down while I make you some orange juice." Shark said, "'Kay, you got it, g!" Zeke said, cheerfully, but tiredly. "Don't stress yourself, though." Shark advised, "Just go back to your room, kiddo."
(Meanwhile)
Wolf was looking around in a pharmacy, "Okay, I've got the gummies. And he might need some ibuprofen for any headaches." Wolf said to himself. "Well well well!" Wolf heard a voice that was eerily loud. Chief was here at the store with him, it looked like she was buying a few amenities. "U-Uh, hi, Chief. Doing some convenient shopping?" Wolf asked, hoping it could go in a much better way. "Of course, and who do I find just wandering about this place. I find YOU!" Chief said, "Well, I'm full within my rights to walk around here, considering I'm buying medicine for my son." Wolf said, trying to maintain a level head. "Oh really, well then—Wait, what?" She asked.
"Yeah, Zeke's coming down with a fever, so I came here to get some gummies and vitamins for him to take." Wolf explained, "I see. IF YOU THINK YOU CAN TRICK ME WITH YOUR DECEPTIONS, YOU'RE WRONG!" Chief shouted, startling Wolf. "Where are they?! I know the other Bad Guys have to be hiding around here somewhere." Chief looked around. "They're at home. Except Snake's probably out so he doesn't have to deal with my son's fever." Wolf explained, before seeing a bag of fruit snacks. "Ooh, I bet Diane would like these." Wolf said,
"Well, whatever. It was nice talkin' to ya, Chief." Wolf said, saluting her own the way to the cash register. "Yeah-Well, it…rghhh!" Chief growled, when she realized that she was only making mere conjecture. Wolf prioritized getting home before anything else happens.
(Meanwhile)
Zeke was sleeping once again in his room, he was told by his Uncle Lou that he needs to be in his room until his sore throat goes away.
Webs was on the call with Snake, since he was waiting for his ability to come back. "Snake, you can literally come back RIGHT NOW. Zeke's in his room, sleeping. 'Sides, you missed a heck of moment. He thought Shark a stingray for a second." She explained.
"Not happening. Until his fever's over with, I'm quarantining myself from our hideout." Snake said, "Yeah, well, good luck finding a place to stay, cuz fevers don't just go away in the span of a few hours."
"I can stay in a hotel room if I need to." Snake said, smirking, "Did anyone tell Diane yet?" he then asked.
"Wolf said he'd call her and let her know." Webs explained, before getting a notification on her phone. "Oh, he just texted, he's on his way back."
"All right then. Let me know when the kid gets better." Snake said, Webs then said: "Snake, you STILL can literally just come home NOW."
"Yeah, haha. Like that'll happen." Snake smirked, before they saw an all too familiar car pull up. "Hi, Snake. What are you doing out here? Need a lift back?" Wolf asked. Snake just sighed annoyed. "I'll be heading back with Wolf. See ya." Webs just laughed, and hung up the phone.
Piranha went to check on the rabbit, and he heard some frightened whimpers coming from the room. "Sobrino? Are you awake?" Piranha asked. "Y-You can come in, Tío Pepe." Zeke said. Piranha saw Zeke looked like he was crying and afraid. "Everything okay, chamaco?" Piranha asked, concerned. "Wh-What's happening? I had a scary dream and when I woke up, everything hurts." Zeke asked.
"Chamaco, it's okay. You just had a nightmare. And you got a small fever." Piranha explained, "A-A fever?" Zeke asked. Piranha nodded, "Sí, todo irá bien, sobrino." Zeke took a breath and dried his tears, "Lo siento, Tío." Zeke apologized.
Piranha patted his shoulder, "No worries, your papi is coming back with medicine soon, don't worry." Zeke nodded. "Go wash yourself, I don't want you to catch it." he said, Piranha nodded. "You drink some orange juice and get some sleep. And if those nightmares come back, I'll punch them!" Piranha said, making Zeke giggle. "Besides, I'm pretty sure Abba wouldn't want you scared, either." Piranha said. Zeke nodded, "I guess you're right. Thanks, Tío." Zeke said.
Piranha gave thumbs up and left his room. Zeke tried to brighten up when he drank some orange juice.
(Later)
"Okay, now just take one of these, kiddo. This is jam-packed with some healthy nutrients." Wolf said, giving his son a vitamin C gummy. "Okay, Dad. But shouldn't it be gummy-packed instead of jam-packed." Wolf laughed a little, "Guess you're starting to feel better if you're making a few jokes." Wolf said. "Yeah, Abba and Tío Pepe cheered me up." Zeke explained.
Wolf patted his son's head, smiling fondly. "Glad they helped ya, buddy." Wolf said, "Anyways, just stay in your room for now. I let your Mom know, too. She'll come to check on you." Zeke nodded, bundling himself back into his blanket.
"You went in there, without a hazmat suit?" Snake said, in mild confusion. "What is your deal, man? We won't get sick if we just stay as hygienic as possible." Wolf said. Snake was exhausted over arguing about this, clearly defeated. "Whatever. I'd be in a hotel room right now if it wasn't for you." Snake said, "Oh, I'm sorry YOU got into my car." Wolf apologized, clearly having fun with this argument.
"Yeah, yeah, sure. So, he's doing okay?"
Snake asked, "Been a lot better. But that soreness'll come back in the morning." Wolf said. "Okay then, that cough'll last for a while, though." Webs said.
"Eh, whatever the case, we'll deal with it." Wolf said, "Thanks for helping out, you guys." Shark looked up in shock, "Like I wouldn't help out my nephew." Shark said, "Didn't really do much, but sure, I'll take it!" Webs said, ignoring the fact that she was constantly checking on him. "No problem, chico!" Piranha said.
Wolf smiled, thanking the Lord that he had great friends that cared. "A double thanks is in order, for helping with my kiddo." Wolf said, quietly to his Abba.
(Okay, short and sweet, I hope! Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed the one-shot. I do like the idea of a sleepover one-shot, so I look forward to working on that. Anyways, stay strong and awesome! Hope you have a good Holy Week with God and remember Jesus is with you!)
