Imagine a pink room...
Pink bedsheets... pink pillows... pink flowers... pink study table... pink stuffed toys... pink clothes... a little pink flying pig being dressed in little pink doll clothes...
"Sooo CUTE!" Rose happily squeals at her Kwami who was now dressed in a little fairy princess dress. Complete with a tiny tiara, and a tiny pair of wings.
Daizzi twirls a little before being cheek-hugged by his Holder. He loves playing dress-up. Especially with his Holders.
Ever since he saw his very first doll many years ago, he wondered if there were Kwami-size dolls whose clothes can fit him. He eventually found one doll and tried on its prince-like clothes.
They fitted him perfectly. And he looked so good in them.
Rose then dresses him up in different doll clothes: Farmer... construction worker... baker... a flower in a pot... parakeet... cat... chocolate chip cookie... and, finally, nurse.
Rose squeals even louder, "They're all so CUTE! It's like they were meant to be Kwami-sized!"
"Riggghhht..." Daizzi agrees, trying to make his smile less nervous.
One of Rose's friends loves making clothes, so she has small pieces of fabrics left after each project which she recycles to hand-make dolls and their clothes. Some of these dolls she gives away to the kids she's babysitting. Sometimes, the kids would ask her for these dolls to give to their friends.
Just a week and a few more days after Daizzi and his Miraculous were officially entrusted to the cheerful pink-loving girl, Rose asked her friend if she can make dolls to give to the children at the hospital and for the ones in the orphanage.
Her friend was more than delighted to accept her request. And, if Rose wanted, she could keep some of the dolls she made.
When requesting something for the sake of charity, Rose makes sure to prioritize the underprivileged before herself.
So when one orphan boy gives her a doll that was originally meant for him out of gratitude, she refused two times before finally giving in to the little boy's pleading, yet honest, wide eyes.
The next few times her friend gave her a new set of dolls to gift, she asked the supervising adults if she can take a doll or two.
Sometimes, with the children's approval, they would give her three.
When she noticed how the dolls were almost or close to Daizzi's size, she cordially asks the dolls if she can borrow their clothes.
The dolls (of course) "agree".
And the rest was history.
"Time to go now!" Rose spoke in a sing-song voice as she opens her cute bunny-faced sling bag.
"Yay!" Daizzi took the doll clothes off him before flying into the bag. As much as he wants to keep wearing them for the whole day, he doesn't want to ruin such cute clothes during a possible Akuma Attack.
"And off we go!" Rose cheers, taking with her another bag full of toys.
She passes by her parents, running ahead of them to their car. Mr. and Mrs. Lavillant look at each other and smiled. Their daughter was getting more, and more energetic each and every day.
She has been like that ever since the Alliance Rings Incident. When they took her to the hospital for a check-up, the results revealed she wasn't just completely fine, she was also completely healed of any ailments.
Everyone felt it was too soon to celebrate. Her parents agreed they needed to observe their daughter for another month before they schedule another check-up.
After that month, they didn't have to go to the hospital ever again.
Except for charity activities.
Rose always loves visiting the hospital.
And not just because of her check-ups. Which she has not been needing anymore in the past few weeks.
She greets the familiar faces of nurses and doctors along the way. Those who were not too busy greeted her back.
"Brace yourself, Rose." A passing nurse calls to her, "They've been restless since last night."
Rose smiles at her sling bag, "Looks like today's gonna be extra exciting."
The small being in her bag couldn't agree more.
The nurse didn't need to exaggerate.
In the children's ward, the patients were either crying, screaming, biting their blankets, stretching their pillows, tossing things, etc.
Once the doors were opened, all the craziness stopped and the kids cheerfully greet the one individual standing at the entrance, "Rose!"
The pink girl greets them back with a smile. She loves these kinds of hospital visits. There were no new faces, but a few familiar faces were not in the room as well.
...
That means they're feeling great and healthy back at their homes.
As Rose greets the kids, Daizzi peeks from inside the bag. He watches as his Holder plays with the kids and smiles, grateful that he and his Miraculous was entrusted to such a kind heroine.
Since he couldn't let his existence be known to anyone other than his Holder, he has to offer his help in the smallest of tasks:
Pushing toys closer to the kids who want to play with them;
During lunch time, stopping utensils from falling to the ground;
Play time, preventing kids from tripping and falling on the floor by grabbing them by the collars and disappearing before they look back;
Secretly picking up small pieces of trash; etc.
When it was time to give the kids the dolls, Daizzi returned inside Rose's bag so that he can watch his Holder give dolls to the children who did not get one during her previous visits.
His heart was filled with joy the moment he senses the entire room filled with... well, joy.
Everyone was happy. Everyone was having fun playing with each other... filled with love and hope that they'll all get better soon and return home with their families.
...
...!
Daizzi suddenly feels a shift in the atmosphere.
Sadness... Where was it coming from?
Daizzi turns his head around to find the source of the sudden sadness. Who could possibly be so sad in such a happy event?
...!
Found him!
A little boy was sitting alone in a corner.
Alone... in a corner...
Far from all the fun...
The little boy stood up. No one paid him attention as he approaches the doors that lead to the hallway.
To Daizzi, this was a moment of urgency. Someone who is sad in the midst of a celebration means they have problems.
Really BIG, DIRE problems.
Daizzi's little heart breaks whenever he sees someone really, really sad. As the Kwami of Jubilation, he loves to help and cheer people up so that he can see them smile.
And that little boy who just left the room needs a smile!
Daizzi quickly flies out of his Holder's bag then phases out of one of the doors, finding himself in the hallway of the hospital. The little boy didn't go far, so he manages to follow him without being seen.
So many happy faces...!
And she has no new friends to bring home this time!
Which is fine because she didn't really want too many dolls and they were truly meant for the kids in the first place.
She picks up her sling bag and places the strap over her shoulder. Once she reaches her hand inside, she starts to panic;
Her hand was just patting the air. Not a soft little head...!
Rose wanted to call Daizzi's name, but she couldn't. If she did, she'd be exposing both their secrets.
Just where-?!
"I've been working too much." A nurse who had just entered the ward was massaging her forehead.
"Have you?" A male nurse asks her.
"Pigs don't fly in hallways, Jared." The nurse slightly snaps back.
Pig? Fly? Hallway?
...
Huh. Well that was a quick, easily-received answer.
Before she heads for the doors, Rose notices another one of the nurses looking worried as if she couldn't find what she was looking for, "Jenny? Are you okay?"
"Joshie's gone." The nurse replies.
"What?!" Rose slightly panics.
"I did a head count of the kids, and 1 was missing." Jenny emphasizes, "Poor thing was worried about his operation so the doctors thought it was a good idea to bring him here."
"Worried"?
Rose recalled that Daizzi couldn't help himself whenever he senses someone feeling down. Worried.
And he's out there... and a worried kid was out there...
"I'll help look for him" Rose offers with a smile.
The things he does to cheer troubled people up...
Daizzi followed Joshie while also making sure not to be seen by anyone else. He had just been freed from the hands of a madman, and there was no way was he going to be caught after living with his rightful Holder for just a few days.
He just needs to help the poor boy, and then he can fly back to his Holder before she even notices.
Then he realized there was a chance Rose had already found out he was gone...!
He'll be quick!
Joshie wasn't ready for his operation. What if it won't make him feel better? What if something bad happens while he sleeps? What if the doctors slip?
What if he can't go back home? Back to his friends? His family?!
The little boy continues to stare at the outside world from his side of the hospital's glass window, feeling despaired and hopeless.
From the ceiling, Daizzi watches the poor boy with sad eyes, troubled, for he has not yet found a way to cheer him up.
"Daizzi?"
Until he heard the sweet whisper of a familiar voice.
He flies down until he was about a foot away from the ground. Then, he drops to the ground, the sound catching its intended target's attention.
Joshie turns around. There was no nurse in sight, so who...?
There was a small pig doll lying on the floor. Out of curiosity, he picks it up and cradles it in one hand while the other pokes it with his finger.
It was so small, and cute. He wonders if anyone lost-
"There you are!"
He looks up to find the owner of the voice. It was the nice princess who always visits the hospital kids so that she can play with them and give them nice things.
The nice princess runs to him, then looks at the pig doll in his hand, "I've been looking for hi-him everywhere. Thank you so much!"
Joshie wanted to keep the pig doll, but he couldn't do that to the nice princess so he gives it back.
"Oh! You had me worried." To the little boy's eyes, she was so happy to have her precious doll back that she couldn't help but rub their cheeks together.
As they rub cheeks, the pig "doll" whispers something into his Holder's ear...
The nice princess turns to the little boy, "Everyone was looking for you. Don't you feel lonely being here all by yourself?"
The other kids always told Joshie that the nice princess has the biggest smile in the whole white building. And they were right.
For some reason, he feels... better.
What was he sad about a few moments ago?
Rose reaches out a hand for him, "Don't you want to play with your friends?"
He does want to play with his friends again.
...
Can he... still play with them? After...?
"Are you worried about your operation?" Rose asks.
Joshie nods. The nice princess knows about his operation.
"It hurts a bit." Rose remarks, "But you get to sleep all the way. And when you wake up, it's like all the bad stuff never happened."
Joshie looks surprised, and hopeful, "Really?"
Rose nods before holding her hand out once more, "Now let's head back before the nurses panic and slip on the floor. Or bump their heads on the walls."
Rose realized what she just said, and gave it a second thought...
That... does sound possible...
The nurses have mentioned that the nice princess had operation before. After that she became healthier than before.
If the nice princess can do it... then...
Maybe he can... too.
The little boy took the nice princess' hand, and let her guide him back to the ward.
Naturally he was scolded the moment he took one step back into the ward.
But some of the nurses were glad he was okay.
Rose watches the nurses surround the little boy she had just brought back. After a minute or two have passed, Rose exits the ward, and, after making sure no one was around, opens her sling bag.
"You went out on your own just to cheer Joshie up." Rose holds her Kwami in her hands.
Daizzi's ears droop in guilt, "I'm sorry, Rose. I can't help it. I-"
"Have to help someone who's feeling down." Rose finishes, with a smile, "That's the best thing about you. (Pets his little head.) Just don't forget to tell me next time. I love helping others too. As long as they're not bad or controlled by little black butterflies."
Daizzi smiles at his Holder then happily hugs her cheek, "Deal!"
Rose hugs him back.
Two big hearts that beat for the happiness of others...
Also bring happiness to each other.
...
"Let's get some flowers for your parents on the way home!" Daizzi cheerfully proposes.
"Yes!" Rose wholeheartedly agrees.
