Friendsgiving!:
(Okay, I figured I base this off of something my friend has been inviting me to for two years. I think it's a good things to write, u know? All the references in this chapter DO NOT belong to me, nor the characters of the orginal movie. Just a quick reminder. Anyways, enjoy!)
Zeke was excited about tonight. The church has a cool little party for youth called a Friendsgiving, and the best thing about it was Akio & Ari were gonna be there, too. Diane was going to chaperone for her son, so it would be a great night. "Sorry your dad couldn't come tonight, Zekey." Diane had apologized, "It's okay. I just hope they can get jobs soon." Zeke said, praying that his dad could get a job that would help he and the Bad Guys get up on their feet. Dad and the rest of the Bad Guys were doing a few temp jobs to stay financially secure for now. Zeke wanted to help, but he was too young to pitch in now.
The young blue rabbit decided to forget for now and looked at his mom. "So, Mom. Will you be at the service?" Zeke asked. "Yeah, I will. I promised Sera I'd help with the prep, later." Zeke looked down, she DID promise to help with setting everything up for the Friendsgiving. That included the karaoke, "I wished Tío Pepe could've come to see the karaoke." Zeke said, "I know, sweetheart. Maybe once we get this whole thing settled, we'll be back to doing all the family stuff." She assured her child that the current situation of The Bad Guys' struggle wasn't eternal.
"Dad will still be able to have time by then, right?" Zeke asked, worried about the future. "I can't make promises, but I know your dad will try, okay?" Diane said, looking at her child, giving him a pat on the head. "Let's just focus on having fun for now, huh?" She then asked him. "Okay, Mom." Zeke then said, deciding to think of what songs will be sung at Karaoke.
(Later)
Zeke walked through the church saw Liv and Marshall wave at them from the their chairs. "How's it going, Zeke?" Liv asked, "Nothing much, just you know…Hoping to become the Karao-King!" Zeke said. "You're only lucky I can sing tonight, because my voice is angelic." Marshall said, "Yeah, that's why you're always screaming your lungs out?" Zeke asked, being snippy.
"It's better than YOUR usual genre." Marshall said, playfully punching his friend. Zeke giggled, he then felt someone else tap his shoulder, and he saw a young lynx & raccoon were behind him. "Hi, guys! I'm glad to see you made it!" Zeke said. "Yeah, I had to beg my dad to let me come, but it has to be worth it! I get to see you and Mar-Mar, Wolfy." Ari said, giving him a hug. "Hey, Mar-Mar." she greeted him and sat next to him. "Nice to see you, too, Ari." Marshall said, smiling calmly.
"Von Genbu, it's nice to see you like any other good day of the week." Akio said through his signs. "Nice to see you, too, stranger." Zeke said, using his sign language and then fist-bumping his best friend. "So, what other things can we do? Since...you know..." Akio then pointed to his ears, "We've got a small video game section we can play, no worries. We'll be doing a small prayer and then we'll head to go get our food." Zeke explained to him. "What do they serve?" Akio asked. "They'll be serving sweets this year my Momma Ms. Governess said." Zeke said, "Guys, it's about start. Let's sit first." Marshall had said. Liv looked on as Reggie had set up on stage and started singing.
The kids were having fun with the song, but Akio didn't know what to do in this situation. Ari tapped his shoulder and said, "Don't feel bad, I don't know what to do, either, dude." She said to him through signs. "I'll translate the prayer for you if you need to." Zeke said, and the raccoon nodded at his best friend.
"Ari, can you help me out?" Zeke asked, realizing that Ari is the one more fluent sign language than Zeke. Ari watched as the man came and addressed the crowd. "God, we thank You that so many people and families could gather here tonight. We love You, Lord and we thank You. God, I pray for every family here that their lives are lived through Your Love and Grace. We thank You for Your Giving and Mercy, that You would give Your Only Son for our sins. Let us spend time with You tonight. In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen!" The pastor had said. "Now, for all the youngin's in the audience, we have food like sweets and fruits, we hope you enjoy it."
Zeke and his friends got up and walked out, following Liv to the next room. "See you soon, Mom." Zeke said, walking up to his mom to give her a hug. "Have fun, sweetie." Diane had said, giving her son a kiss on his forehead. Zeke then walked up with his friends, Akio smirked: "Mama's Bunny." He said, "Dude. you can't make fun of me right. It should be Mama's Rabbit." Zeke said, "Either way, yeah, I guess I have been more with Mom as of late." Zeke said, scratching his ear.
"I still can't believe the governor took you in." Ari said, "What's there not to believe? His dad was a gang leader." Liv said, shrugging her arm. "I mean, I was just lucky, you know? Back when she was still Governess, Mom didn't want me being pushed around in a foster care system. So, she decided to take me in for my dad's sake." Zeke explained to his friend.
"I mean lucky YOU, though. Being around you'd like meeting the kid of a celebrity, you know?" Ari said. "Ari, it's not that weird. Like he said, he was kinda just lucky." Marshall said, bluntly. "Either way, it was a good thing she took you in, then. Maybe that's a miracle from God?" He then asked.
Zeke smiled a little, "I hope so!" He said. "That's the spirit! Anyways, come on! You guys need to sign up if you want to play a song." Liv explained.
(Later)
"All right, guys! I hope to hear the Karao-King in action!" Levi had told his sister's friend. "Don't be upset when it's a Karao-Queen, instead then!" Ari said, signing in. "Another member of your street gang, boys?" Levi asked, smirking. "Street gang?" Ari asked. "Ignore him, Ari. Levi NEVER knows what he talks about." Liv explained, signing in. "Oh, dear sis, you know I'm worried you're hanging with the wrong crowd, right?" Levi said, smiling and deliberately trying to get on his sister's nerves. "Don't you dare use big brother morals as an excuse for making fun of us juvie kids!" Zeke said, signing in his name. "What are they talking about?" Ari asked, "He likes to make fun of Liv by pretending to spread rumors about us coming from Juvie." Marshall explained. "Oh, well I can tell it works every time." She said, observing how angry Liv was getting. Akio looked at the older coyote and observed him, "What's up, Trash The Dragon?" he asked the boy.
Akio proceeded to say something in sign language and then Zeke, Marshall and Ari looked shocked! Liv had smirked, "Take it, you punk!" She said, punching her brother on the side. "Ow! What are you talking about? What happened?" Levi had said.
"He can't comeback from that." Marshall said,
smiling and folding his arms. "I'm lost here." Levi said, not understanding what the raccoon even did. "Akio just roasted you!"Zeke said, "He doesn't even know what I said, that's how you KNOW." Akio had said.
"What did he even say?" Levi had asked. "You didn't earn the permission to know that basic truth." Ari said, "Come on, let's head to go get food."
(Time for each one)
Zeke was super ready for this! He had picked the perfect song for this day! He was excited to show off his super cool singing skills to his friends. "I really DO wish Akio could hear, though." Zeke said, realizing he can't love music with Akio a lot like he would like. He saw his raccoon friend wave at him and then blow a raspberry at him. Zeke giggled a little, "I'll have fun for your sake, Akio." Zeke said, while Reggie walked up. "Okay, everyone! We have our third song of the night by Zeke! Let's give him a round of applause! He's gonna be singing Come Play by Stray Kids, Tom Morello & Young Miko!" Zeke then took a deep breath and let the loud beats back him up.
His friends watched from the audience, "Who called it?" Liv, Ari & Marshall had asked. "I think it was me. Ever since he heard it, he's been blasting it on his phone." Marshall said. Akio smirked, reading their lips a bit. "He picked K-POP again, didn't he?" He asked. "Be dumb not to assume he WOULDN'T." Ari said, watching their friend sing. Zeke wasn't bad at singing, but they could see him stutter.
(Liv)
Liv's turn was next, "Okay, this pick is my sister! Liv will be singing uh…Celestial by Ed Sheeran!
Oh…wait, Liv is this that Pokemon thing?" Reggie asked, "Hand me the mic, please?" Liv simply said it her sister. "All right, then. Enjoy, folks!" Reggie then handed her sister the mic and walked off the stage. Liv shut her eyes and quietly pretended that the crowd wasn't there.
Zeke looked confused and then walked back up to the stage, "Wh-What are you doing up here?" She asked, not looking at the crowd. "It's okay. I'll join you up here." Zeke then encouraged, reading that Liv may have had stage fright. Liv smiled and started singing with him.
Ari looked at Marshall and then clung to his arm. "Like a knight in blue fuzzy armor." Ari said, "Well, she did duet with him back at New Year's." Akio looked on, trying to read their lips again, the raccoon looked at how close Ari had gotten with Marshall, who didn't seem to mind that she clung to his arm. Akio's eyes widened, and he knew what those two were doing. "Wh-Wha…Since when?!" Akio had said. "Since when what?" Ari asked. "You all…You know what? Never mind." Akio had said, "This gives me good ideas for love letter pranks."He thought to himself.
(Marshall)
Marshall's turn was up the back, and he took a breath and let the song play. "I'm just a step away! I'm just a breath today! Losing my faith today…I am just a man, not super-human…" Marshall sang as the rock music played.
"I need a Hero!
To save me now!
I need a Hero!
I need a Hero!
To save my life!
A Hero will save me!" Marshall sang his lungs out, "I-I've gotta be careful. Ari said she wanted to duet with me…" Marshall had thought to himself while his friends watched him sing.
"I haven't even heard this song before!" Liv said, "His uncle got him into the older stuff." Zeke explained, "That's what he told me, anyways. But you gotta admit, these get so exciting and loud!" Zeke raised his hands up, happily. "Yeah, I remembered how shook everyone was when you and Marshall did the duet for that other song!" Ari remembered that. "Oh yeah, you guys DID look pretty scared…Sorry about that." Zeke apologized. "No reason to be sorry, Wolfy." Ari said, "Besides, I love it when Mar-Mar gets pumped!"
(Ari)(…And Marshall)
"All right, we have Marshall up here again with a new guest. Say hello to Ari, everyone!" Reggie said, the audience clapping for the lynx. "All right, they're going to be singing a duet of Do You Wanna Build A Snowman? from Frozen!" Reggie said, "I hope you guys enjoy!" Reggie walked off and muttered, "Finally, someone with normal taste in music." Marshall gave a blank stare Reggie's way and then turned back to his friend. "Ready?" Marshall asked, "You bet, Mar-Mar." Ari had said, watching the screen as the song started. They sang the Disney song with as much emotion as they could, and also managed to stutter on a few lyrics. They giggled and laughed, while trying to remember the words.
"They're cute, right?" Liv asked. "What do you mean?" Zeke asked. "She's asking if they're a thing, dude." Akio clarified by watching their behavior. "I mean…I see it. Ari already calls him by a nickname." Zeke smirked, "I saw it. She was wrapping her arm around his." Akio said, and Liv and Zeke looked back at the raccoon. "What?!"
(Akio)
Akio held up his controller and tried his best to hit the coming team members. "I've got the tower! You focus on get the guy with the Blobobber!" Zeke said, "Liv, on your left!" Ari called to her friend and Liv used her dodge roll to dodge and then strike the coming enemy.
Akio signaled to Liv again, "Liv, wait to use your special until you get close to the next checkpoint ." Marshall said, helping the others understand what Akio's signals are telling them.
"We've entered overtime, g! We gotta beats this match!" Zeke said, "Stay near the tower, Wolfy. Let's focus on getting a boost in points." Ari said, acting once again as tactician. "Zeke, look out! Blobobber!" Liv said, shouting at her friend.
"Dang it!" Zeke said, "It's okay, we still won!" They all looked at their screens and waited for the results.
"We did it!" Akio said in his signs, "We had an open advantage, though. One of their teammates didn't show." Ari noted. "Let's just take the w, Ari." Liv said.
"This is fun, you guys! Anything you wanna do now? Maybe we can play Mario Party." Zeke suggested. "Ooh, I'm up for that. Mar-Mar, take my controller." Ari said, giving the controller to Marshall.
"Thanks, Ari." Marshall said, while the others were watching. Akio playfully punched Zeke's shoulder, "That might be you and Liv in the future, dude." Akio smirked, and Zeke blushed. "Don't be capping ons me." Zeke then said. "Anyways, I'm glad I get to have fun with you guys at this thing. But know I don't hold back when I play Mario Party." Akio said. "Oh, you're on, stranger!" Zeke said. "I'm still your captain, Lieutenant Von Genbu! Treat me with respect!" Akio said, trying to pull rank on Zeke.
(A drive home)
Zeke looked really tired and watched the cars outside, "So, how was it, sweetie?" Diane asked. "It was awesome, Mom! You shoulda saw Akio in the pie-eating contest. His skills would put Tío Pepe to shame!" Zeke said, "Oh, I saved some fruits for you, Mom. I figured you'd like the berries." Zeke said, pulling out a small bag full of berries. "Aww, well thank you, Zekey. That's so sweet." Diane had said. "You're welcome. Thanks for being able to take me, Mom." Zeke then said, "Well, I guess we gotta thank God we could go tonight, huh?" Diane had asked. Zeke smiled at that, "True. Still, I really wish Dad could've gone." Zeke was recalling that he wished his family could make it tonight. Diane had patted her son's shoulder. "Let's give it all time to settle, kiddo." She then said, turning to the next path to home. Zeke smiled, happy he could spend a Thanksgiving break with his friends thanks to the Friendsgiving the church was doing. He hoped to see many more to come. Maybe his family will be there.
(Okay, I'm at the end of this one shot. Oh my gosh, the trailer for the second movie! Once I saw the timeskip, I knew how to make this. More importantly, we're going to see Teen Zeke in the future. And this was my first choice on how he should sound, but Teen Zeke will be voiced by Paul Castro Jr. who voiced Rindo Kanade in Neo: The World Ends With You. Anyways, I hope you guys have a good Thanksgiving.
Stay strong and awesome!)
Matthew 22:37-39 KJV:
37.Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38.This is the first and great commandment.39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself
