Mornings in Paris are (not) always so peaceful... so quiet...
"RISE AND SHINE, PR-!" Before Roaar could finish, the hand of who she was trying to wake up grabs her, stopping her from being a living alarm clock.
Juleka yawns before slightly glaring at her Kwami through half-lidded eyes, "I did NOT order a wake-up call."
She lets go of her Kwami, who looks at her with little paws on her hips, and a small smirk on her lips, "Now why can't you be more like that when you're with your friends?"
Juleka heads to the bathroom to freshen up before breakfast. Roaar helps her by combing her hair until it was neat and no longer messy.
"You can always ask me for help if you're stuck." Luka assures his sister as they ate breakfast.
"Thanks. But I got this." Juleka assures back, while secretly feeding Roaar, who was hiding under the table, a piece of bacon.
Roaar takes the bacon and savors it in her mouth. As she does, she spots Sass underneath the table as well, being fed bacon by a hand that she knows is not her Holder's...
Sass eventually spots her as well. He blinks at her. Then he briefly waves. She briefly waves back.
The two have no further interaction as they continue with their breakfast until their Holders were finish with theirs.
Luka always makes beautiful music. Juleka have always wishes to one day put words in his music.
Hopefully the words she will choose will not embarrass him. Or their fellow band mates.
In front of an audience.
She picks up her bass, then takes a deep breath...
Loud rock music resonated throughout the entire houseboat. Juleka was rocking out hard as she strums her bass, shaking her head to the beat. Roaar, being the supportive Kwami she is, rocks out alongside her.
To the Tiger Kwami, loud sounds are music to her ears. And humans have achieved the greatest feat of inventing Rock Music!
The first time Roaar heard Rock Music, she felt as if the sky came crashing down, creating a massive explosion on Earth.
Just like her superpower!
Kwami and Holder went wild, rocking out to the beat, ignorant and mindless of the things they knocked over and/or bumped into. Somehow, Roaar's body led her to playing the drums, playing in sync to the beat of Juleka's bass.
On the deck of the houseboat, Anarka was tapping her feet to the beat of Juleka's bass playing.
"Awesome beat, kids." Anarka says to herself, believing Luka was the one on drums.
"Thanks Mom." Luka passes behind her, believing his song was being complimented, and was unheard by his mother who was too entranced by the music.
Juleka ends the song by hitting the high note on her bass, then collapses on her bed with Roaar. They both breathe heavily, exhausted from all the playing.
"Not...a single word... came out." Juleka breathes out in frustration.
All that strumming... and she couldn't even think of one word to put in the lyrics.
"Actually we got one word out." Roaar points out.
"I guess animal sounds do count." Juleka comments sarcastically.
Juleka stares at the ceiling. She SO wants to do this. But the words just don't come out!
She's always been the quiet one among her friends. During group discussions, she has lot of ideas, but only has little to say.
They may not like what she's thinking.
Roaar's sudden loud roar snaps Juleka backed to reality. After a short small scream of surprise, Juleka glares at her Kwami.
"Break time's over!" Roaar declares. He carries Juleka's bass in his paws and hands it over to her Holder, "Back to work! The louder we play, the quicker we can make this song more awesome!"
"Who are you? My manager?" Juleka snaps back playfully.
"No." Roaar replies, "Think of me as your boss."
Juleka scoff, "You're no boss of me. No one's the boss of me."
Juleka stops to think, considering the two sentences she had just said seconds ago, "Huh. Those would make good lyrics."
"There we go." Roaar beams, "Let's keep at it!"
Juleka smiles amusingly at her Kwami.
She never knew how to react towards loud voices. (Loud music is a different story.) The moment she senses someone wants to talk to her, she tenses up. When she tries to talk back, it was like her voice was automatically going to almost silent mode.
When Roaar was officially entrusted to live with her from now on, Juleka cringed at the thought of having to endure the little Kwami's loud voice every day.
To her surprise, after just one day... and from that day forward...
She found her Kwami's shouting more annoying than scary.
Juleka hates being... another term for "peer pressured" that doesn't sound too mean.
She hates being... pushed. Even if the intentions mean well, she doesn't like being rushed and being pressured into quick decision-makings.
And Roaar was one REALLY PUSHY Kwami;
She's the first one to wake up. She wakes her Holder up when she doesn't want to be woken up and just wants to keep on sleeping.
When Juleka's family and friends invite her to do something fun, Roaar responds first by flying directly to where the fun is, forcing Juleka to chase after her and accidentally, and hesitantly, join in on the fun.
Her Kwami can REALLY drive her CRAZY.
...
But... she'd be lying if she said she was "mad" at her Kwami for dragging her into the fun.
She was used to that sort of thing with her friends. But Roaar occasionally pestering her during the activities brought forth a more assertive side to her, that not only surprised her friends and family, but gave her more confidence so that she may enjoy the activities and have more fun.
She... likes the newly-improved side of her.
Since then, she got used to the loud talking and starts to... well... not, always, voice out her ideas more to her friends and family.
She even made music with her Dad. Though it lacked lyrics, which was soon added by her brother.
In return, she wants to add words to his music.
With a little- lot of help from her Rock-loving Kwami.
Roaar's loud drumming snapped her back to reality.
Looks like she's too busy enjoying herself to notice the annoyed look on her Holder's face.
...
Juleka smiles in amusement. Oh well. Kwamis will be Kwamis.
She wonders if some of her teammates wonder the same way about their Kwamis. And experience almost the same way with their Kwamis.
