With Monarch gone, everyone thought there would be less chaos in Paris since no new super-powered villains have been appearing in the last four months.
Then a guy throwing exploding boomerangs appears one peaceful evening.
The civilians run in fear as trees, cars, buildings, and other random objects exploded once touched by the Akumatized villain's boomerangs. The Akumatized villain, Bang-a-Rang, laughed like a maniac in delight every time something went "Boom!".
He just loves to see things go "Boom!". It helps distract him from all the boringand bossypeople in his life.
When an old lady's voice offered to give him powers just to have fun... How can he pass up such an exciting offer?!
Just look at those wimps, running away from all the fireworks!
Well that's great for him! Nothing can ruin his party-?!
Something round and hard bounced off his head and back into the hands of the French dog heroine, Miss Hound.
"Someone's been a naughty boy." Miss Hound playfully scolds Bang-a-Rang, and taunting him as well.
Bang-a-Rang grits his teeth and throws a boomerang at Miss Hound. The dog heroine leaps out of the way, causing the boomerang to hit a tree, and explodes with it upon contact instead.
Miss Hound throws her ball at Bang-a-Rang. The Akumatized villain takes a side-step to the left, causing the ball to miss him and hits a garden hose instead before bouncing back into its owner's hand.
"Okay. You seriously need a time-out, Mister." Miss Hounds scolds the villain.
No one tells Bang-a-Rang what to do...!
This nagging little girl was getting on Bang-a-Rang's nerves. Just like all the annoying and boring people in his life.
She's not even attacking him anymore. She's just going on, and on, and on, and...!
That's, it. He, has, ENOUGH!
The villain tackles the dog heroine onto the ground. Miss Hound smirks as a garden hose appears in her hands, surprising the villain.
The next thing he knew after blinking for a brief second, he was hogtied with the garden house, the heroine's foot on top of him as she looks down at him in victory.
With the villain defeated, and the magical ladybugs repairing all damages, the people of Paris cheered for their beloved heroes.
But the leader and second-in-command couldn't take all the credit...
Miss Hound was surprised when her two leaders pushed her to the front, and the crowd began to chant her name.
Her only response to this sudden change in attention was a wave of her hand. And a nervous smile.
She's just not used to this much attention.
Sabrina was jumped awake by the sound of her alarm clock. Her magical hero costume increases her stamina, but the moment she de-transformed, she immediately collapsed in bed out of exhaustion.
Did the new butterfly villain had to Akumatize someone in the middle of the night?!
Now that she thought about it... she forgot to prep her school bag last night!
"My bag... My books! My pencil cases!" Sabrina starts to panic as she scrambles to get out of bed.
"All right here."
-?
Sabrina stops in her tracks the moment Barkk presented her backpack to her while the Kwami levitates in the air. She accepts the bag in her arms and inspects its contents.
To her surprise, all the things she forgot to prepare last night... were already there. Neatly packed and organized.
Sabrina sighs in relief. Now she doesn't have to worry about being unprepared for school.
Again...
"You... don't always have to do this for me." Sabrina didn't want to sound ungrateful to her Kwami. It's just...
She's usually been the one doing allthe packing. For both of them.
She still couldn't believe it took her that long to finally have the courage to see that person's true colors and break all ties with her.
Truth be told... she still held onto hope that she'd turn out better.
But that person's selfishness and obsession to be the best than everyone else, to the point of sacrificing their futures and happiness, was TOO MUCH for her.
She was even demanded to sacrifice her OWN happiness for that person! By THAT PERSON!
"Hey Barkk?" Sabrina holds her Kwami on the palm of her hand, "If you get tired of doing errands for me, let me know so that I can give you a break."
"It's fine!" Barkk flies closer to her face, "The only breaks I need are when you use up all of my power defeating a really tough opponent and I deflate like a balloon because of that righteous reason."
"Wow. That's..." Sabrina smiles nervously as she tries to find the right words to say, "some, dedication."
Maybe the reason Ladybug gave her the Dog Miraculous was because it's Kwami was a little almost-splitting version of her...
Roger stands before the mirror as he fidgets his hat, trying to find the right position to put it on his head.
For some strange reason, he has this urge to forget standard police officer uniform etiquette...
"Dad! We're gonna be late!" Sabrina runs pass her dad to the car.
Roger smiles at the direction his daughter vanished into. She has been even more cheerful ever since-
As a police officer, he was in no position to question the wishes of those above him.
But life for his daughter would have been a WHOLE LOT EASIERif she didn't have... THATas an "ONLY FRIEND".
The previous mayor had a... fewflaws, but he cares about his people and does what he can to solve their problems.
When his daughter and wife don't pester him with unbelievable demands.
Don't take this the wrong way, but his greatest achievement yet was when he exiled those two vile women out of Paris and out of his and his stepdaughter's life.
His second greatest achievement was stepping-down as mayor.
Since that day, Sabrina has been always hanging out with her classmates and has been energetically telling her dad of all the fun things they did together.
Roger finally adjusted his hat in the most fitting position on his head before joining his daughter in the car.
"I'll text you if I'm going to be working overtime." Roger tells Sabrina as he drops her off in front of her school.
"Thanks Dad." Sabrina waves her dad goodbye as he drives off. As she heads to the entrance of her school, she could hear the other students talking about last night's Akuma Attack.
"Just when they got rid of Monarch..."
"The new Monarch has no sense of style."
"Even the new baddie is no match for the heroes."
"Miss Hound is SOOO CUUUTE!"
The last comment made Sabrina blush, making her quicken her steps to get inside.
"Hey Sabri-Bri!" Rose cheerfully waves at her as she and Juleka, who gives a small and simple friendly wave, passes by her. She suddenly stops and turns around to catch up to her redheaded classmate, "Alix is hosting a study-slumber party this weekend. And you're invited!"
"Wow. Really?" Sabrina was surprised. She has never been invited to study and/or sleep in another classmate's house other than-
She suddenly looks unsure, "Am I really invited?"
"Of course." Juleka assures as she puts a hand on Sabrina's shoulder, "Alix would feel really bad not inviting allher friends to the party."
As she waves goodbye to the duo, she thought back to the days she would make fun of them along with-
She, really wasn't proud of her actions back then once she developed a conscience for them. She thought she didn't have a chance of forgiveness despite making up for her mistakes and apologizing.
Yet here she is... invited by the people she helped tormented... the same people who forgave her... and accepted her as their fr-
The school bell rings, signaling the start of classes. Sabrina hurries to the classroom, and manages to make it to her seat on time, able to avoid scolding from her teacher.
As the lesson progresses, Barkk, perfectly hidden inside her Holder's bag, hands Sabrina her school supplies one-by-one.
That math puzzle gave everyone in class headaches.
Well... not everyone; Sabrina was the only one who got out of the classroom not looking worn out and/or clutching her aching head.
She quickens her pace to the cafeteria. She was excited to see what was on the menu today. She didn't care if it was an exotic or full course meal, as long as she gets to eat and not spend the entire lunch break doing someone else's homework on an empty stomach.
Something posted on the school bulletin board catches her attention, making her stop.
The school football team was holding tryouts for new members. Sabrina loves football. She always wanted to audition, but...
She just never got the chance to show off her skills.
...
"You're signing up too?"
Sabrina didn't notice Marc and Nathaniel had approached her until the latter asked, "You two are signing-up as well? No offense, but you never showed interest before."
"Yeah." Marc confirms with a nervous smile.
"But with that new Butterfly carrying on the evil legacy," Nathaniel points out, "we figured we didn't want to be turned into unwilling minions and/or random objects just because we lack 1/4th the speed and wits of an Olympic runner."
Sabrina has the same thought. Now that she's a superhero, she has to be present in every Akuma Attack. Which means she must avoid being attacked and rendered helpless in her civilian self, otherwise she wouldn't be able to transform and help her fellow teammates.
She can become faster, stronger, more flexible and more resistant to any attacks, but only when transformed. Those effects vanish once she turns back into Civilian Sabrina.
Civilian Sabrina is smart, but she also needs to be quick in avoiding Akumatized villains' attacks.
That's why she needs to develop more leg muscle and increase her agility by joining the football team.
"Plus it's fun kicking the ball and keeping it away from others. Including your teammates." Sabrina wonders if she said that right.
Marc chuckles, "Sure does. Which means you better watch out."
"No offense, but you play like a penguin. On a field with no ice." Nathaniel scoffs.
The three laugh in amusement. After a few more seconds of talking Sabrina waves the two boys goodbye as they headed to another direction to have lunch.
Barkk wags her tail eagerly inside her Holder's backpack. Her eyes widen as the zipper is opened and Sabrina hands her a generous piece of the cupcake she was having for dessert. The Kwami eagerly takes it in her hands and happily nibbles on it.
Outside the backpack, Sabrina was happily nibbling on her share of the cupcake. Once she has finished eating the last crumb, she gets up from her seat to return the lunch tray.
"You're gonna nail that try-out!" Barkk cheers for her Holder from inside her backpack.
Sabrina was so happy thanks to her Kwami's encouragement that she wasn't looking to where she was going until she bumped into someone and fell down on the floor.
"Sabrina!" Max, the one she bumped into, hastily helps her up, "I am so terribly sorry! I wasn't paying attention to where I was going as I was too occupied with... my game plan!"
"It's partially my fault too." Sabrina accepted his apology, along with her lunch tray that Max picked up, "I heard you were programming a new game in honor of the reunited Miraculous Heroes Team."
"Affirmative." Max beams with pride, "And I make sure to include allthe abilities of everyhero."
"Well. If you ever need a Beta tester..." Sabrina begins to offer.
"You'd love to help out?" Max sounds too eager to quickly finish, "Great! I mean-! That, would be great."
The two teens fail to notice how the other's cheeks were turning redder.
"I, heard you're trying out for the football team. Break a leg!" Max realizes what he just said, "But don't! You'll need both of them to secure victory for our school."
"Uh... Thanks." Sabrina gives him a nervous smile as he walks away with slight embarrassment.
"Someone has a 'fan'...!" A tiny muffled voice sings from inside the backpack.
Sabrina wonders if she should give the little being in her backpack a good talking-to...
She always admired Max' level of intelligence, and his innovative ability to program games and build robots.
She always wanted to tell him how impressed she was of his many accomplishments. The only problem was...
"He's a member of the bottom chain!"
According to a delusional someone.
...
Why can't she stop thinking about that delusional someone?
Her phone suddenly rings. The caller's number was new to her. She answers it and puts her phone close to her ear.
She soon regrets answering the phone the moment she hears the obnoxious voice coming from the other end...
"How could you keep me waiting?!" The obnoxious caller snaps, "You should be grateful I took the time to call after you messed up every-!"
"Sorry." Sabrina interrupts cheerfully, "This number has just been cancelled and will no longer be accessible EVER in the near future."
Keeping the smile on her face, Sabrina ends the call, then lets out a deep sigh.
"You okay?" Barkk had phased her head through the backpack just to check up on her Holder.
"Barkk..." Sabrina gently rubs the Dog Kwami's head with her finger, "Thanks for sticking with me. The last thing I want is to treat you like some kind of sidekick without any awareness for your feelings."
"I can't recall any instance like that." Barkk stops to think, "At least... none that I am awareof."
Sabrina lets out a soft chuckle, before frowning at her phone.
4 months and she still hasn't change...
Well no surprise there! Sabrina expected this was going to happen.
And even if there was slight sliver of regret, she doesn't want her back. EVER.
She is surrounded by real friends. Friends who forgave her and offered their hands to her... Friends who love to have fun with each other rather than obsess about winning... Friends who welcome her ideas and listen to her instead of just calling them "ridiculous"...
Why did she ever thought it was funny to make fun of such wonderful people in the past...?
She blocks the number. But that wasn't enough for her.
She spots Max just a few feet away and runs towards him, "Max! How do you program a phone to automatically block contacts base on voice identification?!"
She doesn't have to hear THAT voice ever again.
Besides: She probably made new"friends" to slave away in London. Why would she waste her time with an old useless, traitorous EX-best"friend"?
Why isn't she answering?!
She called her for, like, HUNDREDS of times! She had to change her number and when she finally answered, she cut her off!
Why is she ignoring her?! She has to be MISERABLE without her! So much that she'll be BEGGING to be taken back!
She gets a notification: The traitor updated her social media page.
She opens the page. There was a pic of the traitor along with the rest of her loser classmates.
She made the football team...?But she HATES football!
And why does she look so happy without her?! Why are those LOSERS so happy while an elite like her is MISERABLE?!
Two familiar traitorous faces caught her eyes. They look so HAPPY together...
Her eyes were stinging with raging tears. Why were those two still together...? They were supposed to be apart...THEY DON'T DESERVE TO BE HAPPY!
In frustration, she throws her phone to the ground. The device immediately breaks apart upon impact. It is then she remembers her mom telling her that she was no longer going to buy any high-class designs for her until she fixes her social standing in high society.
IT'S SO NOT FAIR!
SHE'S A MEMBER OF ELITE SOCIETY! SHE'S RICH! SHE'S BEAUTIFUL! SHE'S THE BEST ABOVE ALL THOSE FILTHY INSECTS!
More tears flowed down her cheeks. All she wanted was to show everyone she was their Queen. Then they rebelled and banished her out of town!
She thought she'd be fine in her new home. A new city and a new school... Both where she could once more rule as the Queen...!
But then the news travelled there. Everyone saw her like some kind of plague, adisease they haveto avoid.
She could hear people gossip about her... insulting her... calling her a wannabe so-called "princess".
When she confronted some of those people, she threatened to call her Mommy and Daddy on them, but the former claimed to be "too busy" to deal with her while the latter tells her to deal with them herself, claiming she's "too big to ask her mommy and daddy to do things for her."
And those people made fun of her with those EXACT SAME words!
And if that wasn't bad enough, even the people working for her mom were being rude and condescending towards her, telling her not to tell them what to do or to not order them around!
"You're not the boss of us!", they say!
What has she done wrong?! Why is the universe making everyone hate her?! Why is everyone else so happy while she's being TORMENTED?!
...
Please... someone... save her...
She doesn't deserve so much hate...
