"Man Shag, that was some good grub!"
Leading the pack, Fred brought the guys to the guest room that they had been provided. As the ladies got their own place, all the guys were given their own room. It was a simple room, with two beds and the teachers had made sure to set up a small cot for Melvin. So, he would be more comfortable staying with Fred and Shaggy, than if he as in his own room. And well, Scooby, Scrappy and oddly Matches.
While Matches had his own place to rest, he seemed to have grown fond of Fred. Following the man into the room and trailing around his ankles as he moved to get his pajamas out of his suitcases. Trying to aid the man with his unpacking. Fishing out random socks that Fred had to then put back when the dragon wasn't paying attention. Less he angers the little guy, since he just was trying to help.
"He really likes you Fred." Chuckled Shaggy, not sure why the little dragon was clinging to the other man. But didn't see anything wrong with it. Matches was part of the Grimwoods crew, and helpful member of the staff there. A great guard dog, people greeter, and hot dog cooker.
"Well, I guess as long as he doesn't set me on fire, we should be good." Admittedly, Fred hadn't seen Matches breath fire besides the greeting at the door, and most likely helping Shaggy and Scooby cook those hotdogs in the kitchen. So, he hoped the dragon wasn't one for needlessly just going off without a reason...
Fred just hoped he didn't snort flames in his sleep.
Fishing out his own pajamas, Shaggy slinked into his long nightshirt and matching nightcap. Fred was more of a t-shirt and sweatpants man, though leaving his beloved pj's at home for their own safety. Melvin was similar to Fred, using one of his older brother's big shirts as a pajama, and a pair of drawstring pants to go with it. And as usual, Scooby and Scrappy didn't change for bed, sleeping where ever and whenever they wanted in collar and fur.
"Come on Melvin! We need to make sure we get enough shut eye for tomorrow!" Chirped the eager Scrappy, wanting the day to come already so he could meet the new students. And hoping that Winnie would let them be apart of the gym class for old time sake. Getting ready for sleep, Scrappy made the traditional three circles in place, before settling beside Melvin's cot. Letting a big yawn escape his maw.
"I hope they won't be too scary." Melvin admitted, still trying to take in the idea of monster teachers and the fact that he and Scrappy were planning on staying a while for the Reunion.
Giving into the creepy tiredness that was seeping into him, Melvin tested out the cot with the tips of his fingers as he got ready to turn in. Hoping nothing was hiding in the cot, waiting for him to go to sleep. Not sure he should trust the cot that he was given, remembering the stories of the Addams family's furniture. Who apparently were alumni from the school, and had been mentioned earlier. And the fact that Scrappy had told him about a chair that belonged to Miss Grimwood that would pop straps out to randomly capture the sitter. So, he was weary of the cot but he really didn't have anywhere else to sleep in. Not like he could fit in the dresser, like Scrappy did when he was here last time. Though he had been far smaller than as well.
"It's ok Melvin. I bet the girls will love to meet you. And they are just a bunch of teenagers, no matter what they look like on the outside." Shaggy tried to reassure the young kid. Pulling up his covers and starting to fluff his pillow. Making enough room for Scooby to make his own turns and settling into the blanket on top of Shaggy.
"...That is what I am worried about." Melvin muttered under his breath, having a hard-enough time with human teenage girls, let alone monster ones. So, he wasn't sure that it would be that much different, if not possibly worse. He really didn't have that much experience either way.
"Well, don't worry. The Gang and I will be around, so if you need too you can hang out with us." Fred added, figuring that one of them would be nearby, making sure the boy didn't feel too overwhelmed.
Fred himself slid into bed, and pulled the covers up before patting the comforter. Inviting Matches to hop up and join him. Some garbled thanks came from the dragon as he climbed and clawed his way up into the canopy bed and settled between Fred's legs.
"Well good night guys. Sleep well." Pulling on a cord, Fred put out the lamp that sat beside his bed that had been lighting up the room for them.
"Good night Fred. Good night Shaggy." Melvin yawned, crawling into his cot and pulling the covers up to his shoulders. Placing his glasses down on his nearby suitcase for safe keeping. "And good night Scooby and Scrappy."
"Good night Uncle Scooby."
"R'ood Right Rappy."
"Good night Shaggy."
"Yawn, night Scrappy."
"Night Melvin."
"Night Scrappy."
"Good night Fred."
"...Good night Scrappy."
"..."
"..."
"Good Night Matc..." Scrappy was about to say, before the room yelled out.
"GOOD NIGHT ALREADY!"
"Hmph, alright then." Scrappy snorted, "... Don't let the bed bugs bite. Tomorrow is going to be Great!"
Greetings readers, Toki here. The Girls chapter went on way longer then I had meant too, but both them and I was having fun with the exchange that it took a while before I could cut them off. And after looking at the length, an almost 5k words... Plus the chapter before. I felt that I had to make a Guys chapter, that was way shorter. XD
It just felt right. So I hope it was entertaining, and here's to another day at Grimwoods! Look forward to meeting the girls and what other adventures lie in store for our brave hero's. And thank you for reading!
~Toki
