Adventure Time with Finn, Jake & Rachel
Chapter 24: Mortal Straits
After the events that unfolded at the Well of Power, Rachel and Bonnie were now at the Candy Hospital. They were being pushed on two gurneys as a crowd was hovering over the two gooey princesses.
"What's their condition, Dr. Ice Cream?", Nurse Pound Cake asked.
Dr. Ice Cream placed her hand on Bonnie's gooey skin.
"They're totally gross over 90% of their bodies. The other 10% is crazy magical."
"Will they make it, Doctor?", Nurse Pound Cake asked worriedly.
"I don't know, Nurse Pound Cake.", Dr. Ice Cream replied gravely.
From there, they quickly pulled them to the emergency room, one heart monitor for Rachel and another for Bonnie bleeping.
"Put sugar on bubblegum and snowflakes on Rachel! Two scoops!", Dr. Ice Cream urged before she and Nurse Pound Cake each put two handfuls of sugar on Bonnie while Simon and Betty each put two handfuls' worth of snowflakes on Rachel as the mysterious princess from before peeped out the window in genuine concern.
"Please be okay...!"
But suddenly, both heart monitors become dangerously close to flat-lining with Bonnie's a little bit faster than Rachel's.
"We're losing 'em!", Dr. Ice Cream said in worry.
"Bonnie!", Marceline shouted in panic.
"No! Not my little snowflake!", Betty gasped in horror.
"No...!", the mysterious princess spoke in horror, starting to shed tears.
Simon was distressed himself. That is, until he saw something about the heart monitors that gave him cause to be curious, if not hopeful.
"Wait a second. Those heartbeats... They're starting to sync with one another.", Simon realized.
"They are?", Finn asked.
Sure enough, the two heartbeats then slowed down, finally beating in sync with one another, mystifying the princess in the window, who gasped.
"Whoa! It's like those beating hearts are beating in sync as if they're one big heart.", Jake said.
"He's right, Finn!", Dr. Ice Cream concurred.
"What!?"
"Bubblegum's sugar levels are stabilizing."
Suddenly, the two gooey masses were starting to merge into one.
"And now, they're assimilating...!", Dr. Ice Cream added in surprise.
"What...?", the mystery princess puzzled.
It wasn't long before an entirely new being with Bubblegum's body shape and Rachel's pale blue skin with long, pink, yet somewhat messy hair was born. She even looked shapelier than normal with ample assets from the top of her chest to the bottom of her feet. The new being then opened her eyes and sat up straight with a wide smile.
"I'M BACK!", the new being shouted gleefully, earning gasps from everyone in sight.
"Uh, wait...! I think... Couldn't keep me away from...! Hang on... Ugh! I just can't think of anything to say!", the new figure exclaimed in frustration.
"Rae-Rae?! Is that really you?", Marceline asked.
"I think so...? Or maybe I'm... Bonnie? Why is my long hair pink? And messy?"
The being then saw her arms and examined her body, even peeking through her blanket for a moment, earning her blush.
"Oh, my glob...! Look at us, now!", the being said in surprise.
She took a deep breath and opened her eyes.
"I think I'm a fusion.", the fusion said.
"WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!", everyone shouted in surprise.
"A fusion? How is this possible?", the princess puzzled to herself.
"Huh?", Simon puzzled, having heard the mystery princess's voice.
She gasped and made herself scarce with Simon barely able to notice her in time.
"A fusion? Are you sure?", Betty asked.
"Well, I don't know how, but that's what it feels like.", the fusion replied.
"Heh. Tell me something, Dr. Ice Cream. Does, uh..., she, uh...", Simon began. have any side effects?", Simon asked.
"Oh. I don't think I came up with a new name yet. How about... Bonnirae?", Bonnirae named to herself.
"Bonnirae?", Marceline puzzled before thinking it over and then grinning.
"That sounds adorable.", Marceline grinned.
"Aw. Thanks, Marcy.", Bonnirae beamed.
"No, no, thank you. Anyway, Dr. Ice Cream, does Bonnirae have any... side effects?", Simon asked.
"Well, despite the fact that both Rachel and Bubblegum fused into Bonnirae, they're fine. So, by extension, she's fine. Why?", Dr. Ice Cream asked.
"It's just that... after both Rachel and Bonnie fell into the well and wound up turned to mush, literally speaking, I saw someone strange back at the Well of Power. She seemed very lonely. If anything, very penitent. Almost as if she had a penitent look on her mask-worn face that says, 'I'm so sorry...!'.", Simon replied, surprising Bonnirae, who got up in Simon's face in surprise, still in her gurney.
"GET OUT! You saw her, too?!", Bonnirae reacted.
"What the...?! Since when did you see her?!", Simon asked.
"I think it was... uh..., Rachel's part of me that saw her just before she lost consciousness on the way here.", Bonnirae replied.
"Really?", Simon puzzled before remembering when he and the others were taking Rachel and Bonnie to the hospital when Rachel suddenly reacted.
"Huh?! Who said they're so...oorrryyy?", Rachel moaned before falling unconscious in the bucket, worrying Finn and the others, who exclaimed.
Then, it went to the present.
"Oh, so that's what that was about.", Simon realized before walking over to the window. "It's all making sense now."
"Uh, what is?", Marceline asked.
"Brrrrapapo!", Simon shouted as he blasted the window with his ice magic, shattering it.
"I never thought I'd EVER have to say this, but I'm gonna get to the bottom of this mysterious princess back at the Well of Power. If something from it was somehow responsible for your fusion coming to existence, then it's possible that she might know something about it and why it has her worried.", Simon said.
"Wait, Simon. I'm going, too.", Betty assured.
"Same here.", Marceline added.
"Betty, I can't ask you or Marceline to come with me. Especially not with what happened the last time.", Simon said.
"You don't need to. I'm deciding to do it. For her.", Betty replied, gesturing to Bonnirae.
"And what about me?", Marceline asked.
"Oh, Marcy, the best thing you can do to help right now is to stay by Bonnirae's side with Finn and Jake. Help her get used to all these surroundings.", Simon replied.
As Marceline looked to Bonnirae, she sighed fondly.
"Okay. I'll do it for both Bonnie and Rae-Rae.", Marceline responded.
Simon then turned to Betty.
"And Betty, you're just going to come with me, anyway, aren't you?", Simon asked.
"Not like I could stay put.", Betty responded before Simon sighed in defeat.
"Okay. But if things get too scary for you...", Simon began.
"I'll wait for you outside. And possibly guard the entrance/exit.", Betty assured.
"Mom, Dad, whatever you find, just be careful, okay?", Bonnirae asked.
"Of course, Rae-Rae, Bonnie.", Simon responded.
Marceline kissed her two fingers and held them, making a peace sign.
"Peace.", Marceline said fondly.
"Peace.", Simon responded, making his own peace sign before he and Betty left while waving solemnly behind the clouds, which closed, covering them up out of sight, all while the mystery princess made herself scarce as she ducked before she could get spotted, let alone touched, only sighing when the coast is clear outside.
"Good luck..., Dad.", Bonnirae said.
Just then, Raggedy Princess ran in.
"Finn! Finn! The other princesses and I made you a new backpack!", Raggedy Princess shouted.
"Whoa, Raggedy Princess! It's so awesome! Thank you.", Finn thanked, making the princess blush.
"You're welcome, Finn!", Raggedy Princess giggled before running off.
"Whoa. Looks like she's got it bad for you.", Bonnie said.
"Come on, compared to her, you two look great together! How does it feel, Bonnirae?", Jake asked.
"It feels amazing!", Bonnirae said with slight excitement.
"Well, that makes sense. You're jacked up so awesome.", Jake said.
"Hm. Well, that's an interesting concept.", Bonnirae said before getting off the gurney, floating in midair with her long, pink hair as the blanket fell off and showed her tall, thiccer body draped only by her long hair, much like with Rachel, every so often in her dreams.
"I have to show everybody.", Bonnirae somewhat sternly before flying out of the hospital giddily and then entering into the castle hallways.
Finn blushed madly as the scene played out.
"Huh. I wonder how long it'd take her before she realizes she needs to put somethin' on.", Jake pondered.
Meanwhile, in the hallway, Bonnirae happily flew across the hallways without a care. That is, until she passed by Bonnie's bedroom door and stopped. She then went 10 steps backwards to see said door.
"Oh, that's right! I gotta put on some new threads first.", Bonnirae realized in embarrassment.
She then took four steps inside the room as she opened the door before closing it once she's inside. Moments later, Bonnirae was now wearing a pair of jeans and a pink shirt with white pink stripes on it.
"Dang, girl. You look great in this outfit. Oooh, I just can't wait to see what else I can do next...! I'm so excited just thinking about it!", Bonnirae spoke giddily.
But suddenly, her body began to swell and grow with her body getting big and chubby to a point that the leggings of the jeans ripped off, turning into jean-shorts.
"WHOA! How did that happen?!", Bonnirae reacted in surprise.
As she felt her currently chubby body, she remembered something.
"Oh, yeah...! That's right. It must've been from that potion incident with the Duke. I'd almost forgotten how it feels to be so large and in charge... Oh, and soft, too. Still, I wonder if that formula's stashed around somewhere... Not that I mind being large and chubby, but I do at least need to look presentable.", Bonnirae said.
But then, she heard a couple of familiar voices.
"Yeah, man, and then we'll do magic tricks.", Jake said, making Bonnirae gasp.
"Like fake magic?", Finn asked.
"Yeah, like 'bruh, bruh, bruh, bruh, bruh' the whole time.", Jake replied.
"Oh, crubs! I don't have enough time!", Bonnirae spoke in slight fright before realizing something.
"Hey... What do I have to worry about? They already know about that condition from Bubblegum's side. What's there to worry about?", Bonnirae asked to herself.
Just then, the door opened with both Finn, Jake, and Marceline entering, surprising her as she exclaimed with a yelp.
"Surprise!", the trio shouted, bringing with them every bouquet of flower from the kingdom, not to mention a tray of eclairs.
"Oh...! Hey, guys.", Bonnirae greeted.
"We picked every flower in the Candy Kingdom just for you!", Finn said, gesturing to the flowers.
"And I made sure to get as much of your favorite eclairs as I could.", Marceline added.
"Whoo-oo!", Jake cheered.
"Aw.., thanks a bunch, you guys!", Bonnirae blushed before hugging them tightly with a beaming grin.
"Dang, girl. I never pegged you for the strong and soft type.", Marceline said in surprise, neither of them aware that the mystery princess was peeping from the window.
"Guess you got a little excited, there.", Jake said.
"Yeah... I did. Can't believe I forgot all about that swelling side effect.", Bonnirae blushed.
"Bonnirae... I... I gotta tell ya somethin'.", Finn said.
"Sure, Finn. What's up?", Bonnirae asked.
"Uh... Jake...", Finn began before he nudged his head slightly to signal Jake to get out.
"Oh. Gotcha. I'll go get some tea!", Jake said, leaving the room.
"And I'm coming with. You kids have fun.", Marceline said, following Jake out.
"Oh, ha-ha.", Bonnirae said.
"Bonnirae... this sweater your Bubblegum half made me kept me safe. I almost got super messed up, but... it saved me."
"Oh, yeah. I remember that.", Bonnirae realized, not knowing that the mystery princess was watching closely.
"And I wanted to say... thank you for imbuing this sweater with the power of liking someone a lot. Because... I like you a lot.", Finn admitted.
"What?", Bonnirae blushed.
Finn blushed just as madly as well.
"Haha, uh... We shouldn't talk about this now."
"Yeah, good idea.", Bonnirae agreed.
Suddenly, the mysterious princess crashed through the bedroom window and landed on the bed, surprising both Finn and Bonnirae.
"What the nuts?!", the two shouted at the same time.
Recovering, the mystery princess gasped upon realizing what room she's in.
"I am so sorry! I never meant to crash in here!", the princess apologized profusely.
"Wait a minute... That voice. I think I've heard it before.", Bonnirae realized.
"Huh?", Finn puzzled.
"The last time I heard a voice like that, she said she was sorry. She sounded sad.", Bonnirae explained.
"Like Simon said.", Finn realized.
Nevertheless, the mystery princess turned away sadly.
"Hey, it's okay. That wasn't your fault. You probably didn't know that any of that crazy stuff would happen.", Bonnirae assured.
The princess turned back to Bonnirae, still surprised at her current state.
"How did you get so big?", the mystery princess pondered.
"Oh, that is a VERY long story. I don't know where to begin...", Bonnirae started.
But then, Peppermint Butler entered with Jake and Marceline, holding some tea.
"Princess! I brought you some tea—", Peppermint Butler began before he gasped, dropping the tea from seeing the unfamiliar princess, who turned to see him and gasped.
In response, Peppermint Butler hissed like a cat.
"Whoa...", Jake said, holding Peppermint Butler back before he hissed and then went away from Jake and Marceline on all fours.
"Dang. Somethin' weird's goin' on.", Marceline said.
"Yeah... You're telling me...", Jake agreed nervously.
Then, Jake turned to see the new princess.
"Hey, wait. Who is that?", Jake asked.
"She's the girl Rachel heard back at the Well of Power as we were leaving for the hospital.", Bonnirae explained.
"And I have a name.", the princess added.
"Oh, really? What is your name?", Jake asked.
"It's Muerta.", Muerta introduced.
"Well, what are you doing here, Muerta?", Marceline asked.
"I just... came here to pick up some things.", Muerta nervously responded.
"Well, what things do you need to pick up?", Bonnirae asked as she picked up a formula bottle, dabbled it on herself, and then shrunk back to her normal body weight.
"There we go. Now I'm all skinny again.", Bonnirae grinned.
"What...? You'd actually help me?", Muerta asked.
"Of course. Helping people is what I do.", Bonnirae offered.
"Me, too.", Finn agreed.
Muerta was surprised, even blushing a little.
"Okay... Here's what I need you two to get for me.", Muerta began, leaning into their ears before whispering.
Of course, the ominous whispering wasn't out of earshot for Jake and Marceline.
"Huh?", Jake puzzled as Marceline gave a suspicious look.
After the whispering was over, Bonnirae and Finn spoke up.
"Guys, we're gonna get some stuff for Muerta.", Bonnirae said.
"Be right back.", Finn added before he and Bonnirae took off while Jake made a worried noise.
They both turned and glanced at Muerta, who looked especially nervous.
"So, uh..., Muerta? You been through a lot?", Marceline asked.
She gave no answer, and instead, hugged her legs while turning her head away in shame.
"I'm gonna take that as a 'yes'.", Marceline said.
"Hey... Muerta... Sorry you've been havin' it rough.", Jake apologized.
Muerta said nothing, but she did look at him as if to ask, "Really?" in wonder.
"Oh! I'll sing you a song to cheer you up! Bubblegum loves it when I sing songs!", Jake assured.
"Okay, I may know zip about her like you, but I'm telling you now that I'm not sure she'd like any of your songs. I can tell.", Marceline warned.
Jake only grumbled a bit and grabbed a pink microphone and small speaker. Then, he formed bongos on his stomach, beginning to sing his song. Muerta was visibly annoyed and grunted, covering her ears.
Muerta, you're not feeling good.
You're not feeling like a princess should.

"Gah! Make it stop! It burns!", Muerta shouted, about to rush out.
But all of a sudden, she suddenly fell onto a bush form the bed, wilting every single flower in the room, stunning both Jake and Marceline.
"Uh..."
"What the heck did you do?", Marceline asked in shock.
Once Muerta recovered, she gasped upon seeing what she did.
"Oh, no...!", Muerta gasped before getting off the bush and backing away with a whimper of fright.
"Whoa. I think she's more terrified than us.", Marceline guessed.
"Uh, this song's not that good. It's a bad one. I... I'm stoppin'.", Jake said sadly.
"Yes, please. She's been through enough.", Marceline agreed.
"...And starting a new song!", Jake suddenly said boldly.
"Oh, come on!", Marceline said in frustration as Jake played bongos again.
This time, Muerta clutched her head, straining and grunting as if trying to hold something back... and failing. Suddenly, she screamed as she opened her now glowing, blank green eyes, causing demonic flames to engulf the room while scorching the wilting flowers, gravely spooking Jake and Marceline, the former most of all.
"AAH... AAAHH...", Jake whimpered.
"Oh, crubs, she's really flipping out!", Marceline exclaimed.
"Stop.", Muerta suddenly spoke with a mix of her voice and, worst of all, the Lich's.
Jake and Marceline gasped in surprise as the flames went out as quickly as they appeared with Jake and Marceline now in a dark void.
"I have learned much from you. Thank you, my friends. And now, for your... education."
Muerta's eyes then produced a flame, and they all became surrounded by green fire, which went up into the air, leaving behind a big black background.
"Before there was time, before there was anything, there was nothing. And before there was nothing..., there were monsters.", the Lich spoke.
The dark background suddenly changed into a dark green background, covered with a pile of grotesque monsters compounded together and shrieking as far as the eye can see, especially the Lich himself as his skeleton ascended above them all, making both Marceline and Jake gasp in horror.
"The Lich?!", Jake exclaimed.
"Here's your song!", the Lich spoke.
He then opened his mouth from which black smoke poured out, scaring the heck out of Jake.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"
There was a flash of light before both fled the room as Jake shouted frantically.
"OH, MY GOB, OH, MY GOB, OH, MY GOB, OH, MY GOB!"
"Okay, what the heck is going on with her?! And why did we see the Lich now?!", Marceline exclaimed.
"Bonnirae said that Muerta was at the Well of Power, right? M-m-m-maybe the toxic waste did somethin' to her brain—made her have demon powers—or somethin'!", Jake guessed before Finn and Bonnirae entered, running towards the bedroom door with paraphernalia in their arms.
"All right, guys, hold up! What is all this?!", Marceline asked.
"Uh, bleach, lighter fluid, ammonia, gasoline, I dunno. Lady stuff."
"Don't forget the plutonium. Good thing I have my protective suit on. If anything, I'm surprised it fits.", Bonnirae added.
"No, man... no... No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!", Jake whimpered just as Muerta left the room and saw the components.
"They're here! Thanks, guys.", Muerta thanked fondly as she picked them all up and went back in.
"No probs!", Finn assured.
"Wait! Hold on!", Jake urged.
"What's up?", Finn asked.
"Yeah, what's wrong?", Bonnirae asked.
"Listen... Bonnie's bed was on fire.", Marceline responded.
"What?!", Finn and Bonnirae reacted.
"Is she okay?!", Bonnirae asked.
"No, Muerta lit it on fire.", Marceline explained.
"With a match?", Finn asked.
"No, man. With her brain... I think...", Jake explained.
"And worst of all, we saw the Lich just now!", Marceline added, shocking Finn and Bonnirae.
"The Lich?!", Finn exclaimed.
"How?!", Bonnirae asked in worry.
"I don't know. But whatever's going on, we're going to stop him for good!", Marceline urged.
So, Marceline went over to the door and carefully opened the door. Beyond it, the room was burnt to a crisp, and Muerta was nowhere to be found.
"M-M-M-Muerta...?", Jake asked nervously.
"Over there!", Finn said, pointing to the bathroom.
"Maybe she's in there?", Bonnirae guessed.
With that, the four all went in front of the door, the light visible in the cracks of said door. Finn then knocked.
"Hey, uh, Muerta? You in there, buddy?", Bonnirae asked.
"Almost finished, whoever's over there!", Muerta responded.
"See? It's fine. She's just havin' private time.", Finn assured.
"After what we just saw?! I'm not buying this one bit.", Marceline argued before looking through the keyhole.
"MARCELINE, WHAT THE HEY?!", Finn reacted.
Marceline gasped in horror at what she's seeing.
"Uh..., Bonnirae? You might want to take this one.", Marceline warned.
"Come on, man, that's pervy!", Finn exclaimed.
"I don't know, Finn. She seems traumatized.", Bonnirae responded.
"You don't even know, man.", Jake concurred.
Cautious, Bonnirae peeped through the keyhole and saw a horrifying sight: the ingredients being placed inside the tub, releasing a small, green mushroom cloud of death before a black, ghostly miasma started to leave Muerta and go into the tub.
"AAH! AAAH!", Bonnirae reacted before summoning her crystal sword and using it to cut down the door and rush to the bathroom.
"Muerta, no!", Bonnirae shouted in worry before the black miasma completely left Muerta, who went limp and groaned as the Lich went completely into the tub.
"Muerta..., are you okay?", Bonnirae asked.
Suddenly, a rumble came from the tub before suddenly, the Lich in skeletal physical form emerged from it, getting big enough to burst from the castle as the green liquid poured downward all over his body in triumphant laughter.
"Thanks, daughter... I couldn't have done it without you.", the Lich smirked.
"You're the Lich's daughter?!", Marceline asked in shock before Muerta sadly turned away as Bonnirae grew worried as Finn and Jake were shocked.
"Whaaaaaaaat?!", Finn and Jake said in shocked unison.
"Now..., begone.", the Lich spoke before smacking Finn, Jake, Bonnirae, and Marceline through a wall, shocking Muerta as Simon and Betty were revealed to have been listening in.
"Hey! That wasn't the deal, Dad! You said you wouldn't hurt them!", Muerta shouted.
"Death comes for all, child. You should know this by now. Nevertheless, I will spare them the pain I shall bring upon the rest of the world. The true Well of Power awaits.", the Lich said before stomping away to leave only to attract the attention of the Gumball Guardian.
"Evil presence detected. Must defend Candy Kingdo... Aaah!", the Gumball Guardian exclaimed as he was quickly knocked down by the Lich, who chuckled.
Meanwhile, Bonnirae groaned as she woke up and saw Simon and Betty.
"Whaaah?... Mom. Dad. What are you doing here? Did you find anything?", Bonnirae asked.
"We found plenty, all right.", Betty replied.
"We had to keep an eye on Muerta because she was being forced to bring the Lich to life.", Simon explained.
"Yeah... I can pretty much see that.", Bonnirae said as she turned to a sad Muerta as Finn, Jake, and Marceline also recovered.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen.", Muerta apologized.
"Then why did you let it?", Marceline asked.
"I don't know, okay? I don't know.", Muerta said sadly. "It was so much easier when I didn't have people I cared about, just like back then..."
"Back then? What do you mean?", Bonnirae asked.
"Well... remember how you all know me to be the Lich's daughter? It's complicated... But it didn't start out that way...", Muerta explained.
Then, it cut to a flashback of when the Lich was casting ruin upon all of Ooo, much less Earth, as it was back then, with his daughter by his side.
"Back then, I didn't have anyone to care about for this world. Not anymore, at least..."
Then, one day, on her own, she met a little girl resembling Bonnirae. she walked up to Muerta in spite of her terrifying status, puzzling her.
"But everything changed when I met this little girl. She walked up to me when no one else dared to. I remember asking her, 'Why aren't you running from me?'. And you know what she said to me?", Muerta narrated.
"Because you seem so sad. And lonely. You look like you need a friend.", the girl responded.
Hearing this back then made Muerta's eyes widen in surprise, even starting to shed a tear, although it didn't drop. Then, it showed the two growing closer to one another, through thick and thin, especially with the young girl having grown to be of a young woman married to a demon before the Mushroom War hit. Ever since, she spent all her time looking for her only to find her on the verge of death at an abandoned gas station.
"Ever since the day we met, something in me had changed. Little by little. Enough for me not to notice... Until it was too late...", Muerta added.
"I'm sorry I had to trick you.", the woman coughed. "But you're tough enough to handle this world on your own. And it's not gonna change you because… you have a good heart... I love you, Marceline. I hope you can forgive me."
With that, she dropped her phone and died out.
"No...!", Muerta said, starting to shed tears.
"Usually when people died, I never paid any mind, but that girl's death... from radiation poisoning? This was the first time I ever showed any actual genuine feeling toward this...", Muerta said before it then flashed to the present.
"1,000 years went by now, and... During that time, I've considered bringing up the idea of sparing the ones I care for from destruction so we could cherish it together in a new world. I was hoping he'd change his mind about destroying everything. But he didn't approve. Now, because of me...! Everyone's gonna die...!", Muerta said, starting to sob sadly and softly.
"Oh, man... Drama bomb.", Simon said softly.
Suddenly, the Gumball Guardian was shown to be trampled underfoot by the Lich, who chuckled as his foot was now resting on him.
"No!", the group shouted.
"Goodbye, Princess... Ngh...!", the Gumball Guardian grunted.
Nevertheless, Bonnirae turned to Muerta.
"Well..., let's stick it to your old man.", Bonnirae smirked.
"Huh?", Muerta asked, puzzled as her tears finished dropping.
"We have to head off the Lich and stop him."
"But how?", Muerta asked.
Looking towards the tub, she gave a smirk.
"Come on, Muerta. You ARE the Lich's daughter, right? So, if anyone besides him can handle that much juice... it's you.", Bonnirae said.
Hearing that, Muerta gasped and then growled in determination while turning to the tub before then starting to drink from it.
"Uh, okay. I only meant 'bathe in it'. Even with your clothes on.", Bonnirae said in slight surprise.
Suddenly, Muerta began to grow bigger as she drank the chemicals.
"Oh, okay! That makes sense.", Bonnirae realized.
She then picked up the whole bath tub and drank deeply.
"AAH! PUT DOWN THE TUB!", Finn shouted.
"It's okay! It feels like she needs this.", Bonnirae said.
With that, Muerta threw the tub down and then burst through the hole the Lich already made into the castle and charged at the Lich.
"Just say when!", Marceline called.
"What's your plan?", Jake asked.
"While you and Muerta fight off the Lich, we'll wait for Finn's signal to freeze him while he's distracted up top.", Simon said.
"Of course, the Lich probably won't make it any easy for us. Which is why you need to wait for an opening before you and Marceline can distract him.", Betty explained.
"Okay.", Finn said in a comically deep voice.
"Then, I'll go help buy some time.", Bonnirae said before flying off and casting hand signs.
"Fridjitzu Master Bonnirae summons... Ginormo-Grow!", Bonnirae shouted, growing up to 50 feet tall and circling around back just as Muerta caught up to the Lich with a roar.
She charged at the Lich and kneed him in the ribcage, knocking him off the Gumball Guardian, who only had a crack on his face just as Bonnirae caught up from behind and then pelted him with...
"Caltrop Halestorm!"
The Lich grunted as he was pelted with ice shuriken before he landed. But even then, he got up despite the ice shuriken embedded on him, that is, until he summoned green flames on his body that melted them all off.
"Whoa. Okay. I did NOT know he can do that.", Bonnirae said in surprise.
"So..., you finally go against your own father?", Lich asked.
"Get away from me! You make me sick!", Muerta only shouted as she started to cast green flames on her hands as they were emitted.
"What?", Lich asked, not exactly surprised.
"I hate you! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!", Muerta shouted in a distorted voice before blasting her green flames at him, making him yell out as Bonnirae went behind the Lich.
"NOW, EAT THIS, SUCKA!", Bonnirae shouted before yelling out as she then fired a Force of Blizzard at the Lich from behind, resulting in an explosion of fire and ice just mere feet from the wall.
Once the fog and smoke cleared, Bonnirae turned to the Gumball Guardian.
"Are you okay?", Bonnirae asked.
"Yes, Princess.", the Gumball Guardian replied.
"And what about you, Muerta?", Bonnirae asked.
"I-I'm all right...", Muerta responded with a brief sigh of exhaustion.
But the Lich only started to laugh boldly as he got back up, much to Muerta's surprise.
"You think that your hatred towards me will keep me from my goal of extinguishing all life in Golb's honor? Child, you have failed! All you have done is accept your reward for your assistance in my glorious restoration.", Lich smirked, worrying Muerta. "You are, have always been, and always will be... my daughter."
Finn and the others look concerned for Muerta, who turned back to them before turning back.
"So, what if I am your daughter? They knew that after your restoration, but they were still willing to help me fight you anyway. Or did you forget?", Muerta said.
"Then, where, may I ask, are the rest of your friends now?", Lich asked discouragingly.
"Now!", Muerta shouted to Marceline and Finn, puzzling the Lich.
"Right here!", Finn shouted before Marceline flung him towards the Lich.
"I'M A CAT! I'M AN AGILE CAT!", Finn shouted.
"Whoop!", Bonnirae said, ducking as Muerta moved out of the way.
"Huh? No, wait!", Lich said in surprise before Finn got on his head and used his sweater to yank on the Lich's head much like how Rachel did before, making him yell out agitatedly as he shook around.
"MEOW, SIMON!", Finn shouted.
With that, Simon grunted as he froze the monstrous skeleton with visible difficulty.
"Betty, you're up next!", Simon shouted before Betty joined in, hastening the freezing process as Marceline brought Finn down to the ground before the Lich got frozen.
With the Lich frozen, Marceline set Finn down on the ground.
"Thanks, Marceline!", Finn waved before the Candy People gathered around and cheered.
"Phew...!", Bonnirae sighed in relief before collapsing in exhaustion, shrinking back to normal size, and finally separating back into Rachel and Bonnie, draped only in their respective hair, covering their bodies like dresses.
They both panted in exhaustion and giggled.
"We... did it...!", Rachel sighed.
"He... Heck, yeah, we did...", Bonnie agreed.
"You know something, Muerta? You did good.", Marceline said.
"Yeah?", Muerta asked.
"Yeah, girl.", Marceline replied.
Muerta grinned for a moment before frowning.
"Still, I don't think that ice will hold him forever.", Muerta said.
"And you'd be right. This is more of a last-ditch effort, at best.", Simon agreed.
"I'm afraid there's only one solution. He has to be sealed away before he can break free.", Betty advised.
Everyone became worried for a moment until Muerta spoke up.
"In that case..., leave that to me.", Muerta said, astonishing everyone.
"Are you sure?", Betty asked.
"It's the best way I can make sure my Dad doesn't try to hurt, or kill, anyone ever again. And that means I'll have to stay put with him to be sure he doesn't escape.", Muerta assured.
"But are you sure you're up for this after everything you've been through?", Betty asked.
"Yeah. This is for the good of everyone.", Muerta responded.
"But what about you?", Jake asked.
"Don't try to talk me out of it. Please. I don't want to lose any of you. Not like this...", Muerta responded, gesturing to the frozen Lich.
From the looks of it, it seemed like nothing was gonna change Muerta's mind as she started to leave, carrying the ice block holding the Lich inside. So, Rachel turned to Bonnie sadly, who nodded before she picked her up and flew her over.
"Muerta, wait!", Rachel shouted, puzzling her as she and Bonnie caught up to the pale giantess.
"If you have to do this, wherever you're going, can you at least let us come with you and make sure his iceberg is stable during the trip? We can't exactly have him breaking apart before we even get here.", Rachel offered.
Muerta thought it over for a moment and grinned.
"Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have you two come along.", Muerta grinned before she continued on her way with Bonnie and Rachel following them.
"Huh. I wonder how long it'd take 'em before they realize they need to put somethin' on.", Jake pondered.
Later, the trio were now placing the big iceberg in the center of the dungeon.
"Hey, isn't that place the dungeon of the Crystal Eye?", Bonnie asked.
"Wow. You really know your dungeons, don't you, PB?", Rachel asked.
"This dungeon may be dangerous, so it should keep anyone who enters from getting this far. Besides, even if they do get there, at least they won't be able to remove the Crystal Eye. The heat from those things guarding it could melt it in seconds.", Muerta warned.
"And how often has the Crystal Eye been removed?", Bonnie asked.
"Not very often.", Muerta said.
"Good. Then, we just need to make sure no one ever tries to do this dungeon.", Bonnie said.
"Huh. Fine by me.", Rachel said before turning to Muerta.
"Thank you, Muerta. For everything.", Rachel thanked.
"And for what it's worth? You're welcome to come to the Candy Kingdom anytime.", Bonnie offered.
With that, the two flew out of the hole of the dungeon.
"And Rae-Rae? Before we can explore how our fusion affected us, we might need to put some clothes on when we get back to the Candy Kingdom first.", Bonnie suggested.
"Okay.", Rachel responded in a comically deep voice.
Muerta grinned to herself as she saw where they left.
"Thank you. I'll think on that.", Muerta said fondly.
Little did anyone know that the Lich's eyes glowed in the iceberg and black smoke began to seep from the Lich's mouth inside the frozen iceberg before the screen went dark as the green, ominous glow of the Lich's eyes was present for a couple of seconds before the screen went blank.
A/N: And so, the Lich has been defeated. Or has he...? In any case, the first season is finally concluded. And in the 2-part episode, Eden Riegel voices Muerta, the Lich Princess and Sarah Nicole Robles voices Bonnirae, the fusion between Rachel Petrikov and Bonnibel Bubblegum. So, that opens some doors for how Season 2 would go. I don't know when exactly it'd be posted, but I do know that it's something to look forward to. :)
