A/N: And here, we have the first official chapter of the second season of "Adventure Time". For those who were waiting for it, I apologize for the wait. I forgot that I was planning more chapters of this story for December a few months ago. My bad. In any case, this chapter introduces Billy, portrayed by none other than Lou Ferrigno, the original Incredible Hulk! And this chapter may yet shed some light on something most troubling near the end.
Adventure Time with Finn, Jake, & Rachel
Chapter 25: His Hero
One day, Finn, Jake, Rachel, and even Muerta, along with the Swamp Giant that chased LSP for calling him ugly one time, were falling from a great height. The four were all gripping onto the giant, who screamed as he and the others fell.
"Is this fun or what?!", Rachel shouted.
"Uh, explain to me again how this is fun!", Muerta shouted.
"Last chance, Swamp Giant! Tell us where you hid the Mini Queen!", Finn shouted.
"NEVER!", the swamp giant shouted.
Suddenly, they heard a tiny squeak.
Puzzled, Finn pushed back a tree and noticed the Mini Queen tied to one of the swamp giant's spikes before Finn plucked her out of the spike, freeing her.
"Hi, Mini Queen! Guys! I've got 'er!", Finn grinned.
"Then hold my hand, dude!", Jake urged before Finn does so. "Whoooop!"
While Jake inflates, making himself and Finn reach terminal velocity sooner and float gently to the ground, Rachel, who held onto Muerta, cast an ice spell, that caused the swamp giant to slide down to the ground and crash right into a boulder.
As the swamp giant hit the rock wall, Finn, Jake, Rachel, and Muerta landed on the ground with Jake letting his air out and deflating.
"My inflatable angel.", Finn grinned.
"Heh heh heh.", Jake chuckled.
"And best of all, the Mini Queen is safe.", Rachel grinned.
The Mini Queen squeaked cutely to Finn.
"Did you get that?", Rachel asked curiously.
"I dunno. Can't understand a word she says.", Finn responded.
With that, the Mini Queen promptly wrote a message on Finn's hand that said, "THANK YOU 4 SAVING ME. XOXO CALL ME." The Mini Queen also shaped her antennae to look like a heart, not too long after.
"Aww! My pleasure, ma'am! I just like beating up evil!", Finn responded, performing a handshake with one of her antennae as she squeaked.
"Okay... Didn't... catch any of that either."
Rachel gasped before turning to Muerta.
"Oh! You should introduce yourself, Muerta."
"Are you sure about this?", Muerta asked.
"Come on. You did help us save her life.", Rachel assured.
"Uh, hi, your tinyness... I'm Muerta. How are you doing?", Muerta asked, albeit nervously.
But one look at Muerta was enough for the Mini Queen to squeak in horror before jumping on Jake's nose and then leaping away, but not before tossing a tomato at her. Even then, Muerta didn't even react.
"I guess it's gonna take time to really get to know you.", Rachel said, a bit worried.
Of course, Jake sniffed and picked up a scent.
"Mini Queen must've stepped in somethin' funky."
He sniffed again.
"No... It's not tiny feet I'm smelling! This way!"
"What is it?", Muerta asked before he sniffed the ground and followed the scent all the way to a sword with Finn, Rachel, and Muerta becoming surprised (although Muerta would gasp in a bit of horror herself).
"Whoa!", Jake exclaimed.
"What?", Finn asked.
"What is it?", Rachel asked.
"Do you know whose sword this is?! This is the sword of Billy!", Jake responded.
"Billy?", Rachel puzzled.
"Billy...?!", Muerta squeaked.
"Billy?!", Finn said excitedly before he and Jake shook their arms in excitement and sang.
"BIIILLYYYYYY!"
In a flashback, the hero in question with red hair, blue skin, 6 fingers in each hand, a blue gem, and most notable of all, the Gauntlet of the Hero.
"Nothung!", Billy called.
As soon as the sword came to Billy and sparked lightning dramatically, a musical sequence began. As it progressed, it showed him slaying an evil ocean, casting the Lich down, slaying the Fire Count, and even fighting a giant, floating bear.
Who's the greatest warrior ever?
A hero of renown!
Who slayed an Evil Ocean
Who cast the Lich King down!
Billy!
And that time the evil Fire Count
Captured a damsel fair.
Who saved her with such bravery
She offered him her hair?
Billy!
Also... he fought a bear!
Billy!
Back in the present...
"Oh, yeah! That was the most mathematical thing ever!", Finn shouted.
"Oh, yeah! Hahaha! He fought a bear!", Jake said at the same time.
"Wait a minute. Wasn't he the guy who cast the Lich down?", Rachel asked, making Muerta squeak in worry.
"Huh? What's wro...?", Rachel began before realizing something.
"Ohhhhh. That's right. I'll go put in a good word with him. Assuming we find him.", Rachel assured.
"This is so cool!", Finn said eagerly before attempting to pull out the sword.
The ground cracked and made a hole in the side of the mountain appear.
"Whoa!", Jake exclaimed.
"It's Billy's legendary crack!", Finn spoke eagerly before Muerta squeaked in worry again.
"Which is sooner rather than later, I guess.", Rachel said.
Nevertheless, all four went inside and gasped as they are treated with Billy's presence, Muerta more so out of horror as Billy spotted her, prompting her to try to hide in Rachel's shadow, leaving her worried.
"Hello.", Billy sighed.
"It's him! It's him!", Finn whispered to Jake.
"It's him! It's him!", Muerta whispered in fear to Rachel.
"I know, I know! Be cool!", Jake whispered to Finn.
"I know, I know! Be cool! I said I'll put in a good word with him and that's what I'll do.", Rachel whispered in assurance.
"Yep. It's me.", Billy said with a hint of suspicion toward Muerta.
"Man! I'm such a huge nerd for you! Please take us on as hero apprentices!", Finn said eagerly.
"What for?", Billy asked.
"So that we could learn to kick evil's butt... just like you!", Finn replied.
"I wanna be the dog version of you!", Jake assured.
"Ahh, that'd be a waste of time.", Billy rebuffed.
"Heh. Yeah. I-I'm a little paunchy... but I could do some sit-ups!", Jake assured.
"No, I was talking about beating up monsters.", Billy commented.
"What?", Rachel said in slight shock. "What do you mean waste of time?"
"It's as pointless as a dog chasing his own tail.", Billy commented.
"Heh. See, that's where you're wrong... 'cuz watch!", Jake said before he tried to catch his tail, of course to no avail. "Ah... ah..."
"What do you mean, 'pointless?'", Finn asked.
"Yeah, we just saved the Mini Queen from a monster!", Rachel added.
"You know where she is right now? She's probably being eaten by a different monster. She's probably dead.", Billy only argued, making Finn gasp.
"How can you even say that?", Rachel retorted.
"In my youth, I was much like you. Motivated. Headstrong. Wore a silly, little outfit. Even had a magic dog.", Billy responded, gesturing to his skeleton of a dog.
Jake was scared, yet smiling.
"Heh... I'm gonna pass out...", Jake said before falling backwards.
"All my life, I've beaten up evil creatures.", Billy said before giving a deep sigh. "But new evil keeps popping up. Kicking their butts was a hopeless effort!"
"What...?!", Rachel reacted.
"What other way is there?", Jake asked.
"Nonviolently." was his reply. "Help people by being active in your community."
"Nonviolently?", Finn asked before sighing while Rachel grunted angrily.
"But the fact that new evil keeps popping up is why we HAVE to keep fighting. Because evil will keep existing in the world, good has to keep existing, too. And as long as heroes like us and you exist, with all due respect, we won't stop fighting. The Lich even attempted a second coming not too long ago. But we stopped that in a hurry. We've even managed to befriend his daughter, too.", Rachel assured, introducing the nervous Muerta to Billy, who gasped from seeing her.
If the fact that the Lich's second coming was prevented hadn't surprised him, then the fact that the Lich's daughter is currently with her, Finn, and Jake definitely does the trick.
"She's nowhere near as evil as the Lich is, though."
"Uh, hi. I'm Muerta.", she introduced as she got out of Rachel's shadow.
Of course, Billy gazed toward her as if glaring, worrying her. After a few moments, though, he spoke.
"Curious. You seem to possess a dark power within you. But the real interesting part is, you don't seem to have any evil intentions.", Billy said.
"Huh?", Muerta asked, somewhat relieved.
"Whoa...", Finn and Jake spoke in awe.
"You can sense all that?", Rachel asked.
"Naturally.", Billy responded.
"Okay, I'll give you that. But you still think being non-violent would actually help?", Rachel asked.
Billy just nodded.
"I gotta try being nonviolent... the Billy way...", Finn said.
"Me, too!", Jake added.
"Billy, I won't let you down!", Finn vowed.
"I love you, Billy! I got a secret crush on you, Billy!", Jake added before he and Finn, as well as Rachel and Muerta, left with only Finn and Jake screaming as Billy sighed wearily.
Later, at the Grass Lands, Finn was riding on Jake.
"This is gonna be tough, Jake. I'll have to suppress my every warrior instinct.", Finn groaned.
"Relax. It'll be easy not to beat up on monsters and still help people.", Jake said.
"Yeah, I don't think so. And him sensing a dark power in Muerta and the fact that she has zero evil intent is kinda cool, I'll admit. But I still say he's full of it. There're some people in this world that can't be reasoned with and deserve to be taken down. Within reason.", Rachel said.
"Are you sure about this, Rachel?", Muerta asked.
"Of course, I'm sure. Those evil-doers wouldn't stop otherwise.", Rachel responded.
"Help! Help!", a voice cried.
Finn, Jake, Rachel, and Muerta noticed his cries. "A monster!"
The source of the voice, revealed to be a cobbler, promptly ran into Jake's leg and he retracted.
"Oh! Thank goodness! Heroes! I'm being chased by a horrible Dragon! Please, please help!", the cobbler pleaded.
"Oh, uh...", Finn began.
"Oh...", Jake added.
"Act quickly! He's almost upon us!", the cobbler urged.
Jake had to explain, albeit straightforwardly.
"Sorry. We don't beat stuff up anymore.", Jake said.
"No, but please!", the cobbler pleaded before stammering frantically.
"Dude. We gotta do something to help him.", Finn said to Jake.
"I could teach 'im how to not be such a spaz.", Jake responded.
"Jake...! Spazz or not, he is in trouble! We can't just do nothing!", Rachel rebuffed.
"Hey, Mister. Besides being chased by a monster, what else is wrong?", Finn asked.
"Well... I've been running all day. I guess I'm pretty hungry.", the cobbler responded.
"Say no more. Come on, Finn.", Jake said, walking away while pulling Finn along with him.
"Where're you going?!", the cobbler shouted.
"To make you somethin' to eat!", Jake shouted.
"That's not what he...!", Rachel began before groaning and then turning to the cobbler.
"Don't worry. We'll take care of it for you.", Rachel assured.
Sure enough, the dragon arrived.
"Halt, you foul dragon!", Rachel shouted.
Rachel then quickly blasted the dragon away with an ice wind until he blinked out like a star.
"There. The dragon has been sent away, sir.", Rachel assured.
"Oh, thank you, Rachel.", the cobbler thanked.
But when he turned to see Muerta, he became scared on account of her blank stare.
"Ah!", the cobbler shouted.
"Sir, it's okay. She doesn't mean any harm.", Rachel assured.
"Really? With that blank stare of hers if not her being the Lich's kid, it's hard to tell.", the cobbler said before shuddering.
"Okay. Looks like I got 2 things to prove here. Fighting evil isn't pointless and you are just learning more about other emotions.", Rachel said to Muerta. "No problem. This'll be taken care of in no time."
Later, at the village, Finn and Jake were running a food stand.
"I still feel weird about not fighting off that dragon.", Finn admitted.
"Trust me. This is a way better way to help 'im.", Jake assured before yelling out. "Gruel! Get your free gruel!"
Then, a lady walked up to stand.
"What's this all about?"
"Free gruel, ma'am. I can't beat monster butts, but I can beat your hungry guts. That's for sure!", Finn assured.
"Hahaha!", the lady laughed mockingly.
But then, she changed her tune when she ate the gruel.
"I didn't throw up! This gruel is very adequate."
"YEAH!", Finn shouted victoriously.
Very soon, the other townspeople were now eating Finn and Jake's gruel.
"This is great, Jake!", Finn grinned.
"Yeah, we're really helpin' people!", Jake added.
"You guys are actually making gruel?", Rachel asked as she, Muerta, and the cobbler turned up.
"Whoa! Look who it is!", Finn said eagerly.
"Dude! You're alive!", Jake added.
"No thanks to you two!", the cobbler said angrily. "That ice princess was the only helpful one around here. That dragon might've eaten me by now if it wasn't for her. Oh. And her friend, too."
Then, he leaned in toward them.
"Which, between you and me, makes me shudder with that blank stare.", the cobbler whispered, gesturing to Muerta, who blinked once despite the stare.
"Dude. Gruel.", Jake said deliberately.
"Oh, thank you!", the cobbler said as he was handed a bowl of gruel before eating it and laughing.
"What did you guys put in the gruel?", Muerta asked.
"Oh, I added stone skin potion to the recipe. It gives your body the power to grow armor.", Finn explained, holding up the potion.
"You what?", Rachel glared in shock.
Suddenly, the cobbler's hand suddenly became encased in stone.
"AAAH! WHAT'S HAPPENING?!"
Unfortunately, more of his body became encased in stone. The cobbler struck himself with a fork, and it had no effect, causing him to panic.
"Dude... how much of that potion did you use?", Jake asked.
To his and Rachel's shock, Finn held up five more empty potion bottles. The townspeople have quickly grown armor as well. In fact, one of the townspeople's belly button started shooting flames as well.
"AAAAH! MY TUMMY IS BREATHING FIRE!", the townsperson shouted.
"Uh, maybe we'll just skip the gruel.", Muerta suggested.
"Geez... I thought people would like that.", Jake said.
"Why?! Why would anyone want that?!", Cobbler exclaimed.
"So you can defend against evil monsters!", Finn explained.
"Finn, those are for adventurers, not for townspeople! Look how panicked they are!", Rachel responded, gesturing to them.
"And on top of that, you're supposed to beat up monsters so we don't have to defend ourselves! At least the Ice Princess is doing it better. And even her friend, too.", the cobbler added.
"No, see? I'm helping you nonviolently!"
"Or at the very least, trying to help nonviolently.", Muerta added.
"And from the looks of that, and I mean no offense on that, failing.", Rachel added.
"Hey.", Jake retorted.
"Failing doesn't even begin to cover it! I can't even move my hands! I'm a cobbler! How'm I supposed to cobble with these useless chunk mitts?!", the cobbler berated.
"Sooo... the village needs the help of a new cobbler, eh?", Finn asked before he and Jake thought it over, much to Rachel and Muerta's worry.
"WHAT?! NO—"
"I may not have much emotion, but I don't think I'm going to like where this is headed.", Muerta said.
"Yeah. Same here. If you need us, we'll be looking for other criminals and put a stop to them as we look around. Cool? Cool.", Rachel said as she and Muerta started to leave the food stand.
"All right, you two.", Finn said.
"You go do that.", Jake added.
Later, at the shoe-repair shop...
"Alright! We're cobblers!", Finn said excitedly.
"No, you're not! You're just watching my shop while I go to the dermatologist! And don't try to cobble anything!", the cobbler warned as he left.
"What does 'cobble' mean, anyway?", Jake asked.
"I think it has something to do with shoes...", Finn guessed.
Just then, a fine lady draped in a black cloak and hoodie, entered the shop.
"Excuse me! Can you help me? I need a broken heel fixed. I'm going to a fancy funeral.", the fine lady asked.
Finn, never one to refuse any help if he could help it, took the shoe and heel.
"Of course I'll help!"
Moments later, he was hammering in the heel.
"There!"
He then rolled over to the lady and put the shoe on her foot. She seemed content with the repair, but unfortunately, a blade came out from the shoe, earning her small gasp.
"Now you can fight off evil if it shows up at the funeral!", Finn said.
"Did you fix that shoe with a magic nail?", Jake asked.
"Maybe...", Finn said.
The shoe suddenly then armed axes, an extra blade, and a lasso.
"Whoa!", Finn exclaimed.
"Cool!", Jake said ecstatically.
"I cannot go to the funeral in these!", the fine lady said.
Just then, the cobbler returned to the shop.
"Hey, everyone! I'm back from the doctor!"
The lady's shoe lace then lassoed the cobbler.
"WHY?!", the cobbler cried as the lace grabbed onto his hat and forced him to the ground.
"...And I'm not supposed to bring a guest.", the fine lady added.
"GET OUT!", the cobbler shouted.
Meanwhile, Rachel and Muerta were looking around.
"Hm. There's gotta be another criminal out there.", Rachel pondered.
Sure enough, the two girls heard a cry for help coming from an old lady, who was currently being robbed by the thief trying to take the purse full of money.
"Give me them hot buns, lady!", the thief snarled.
"Hey, thief!", Rachel called, puzzling him.
"Hands off the purse!", Rachel shouted, swinging her sword at the thief with a leap only for him to dodge and run, but not without the basket.
"Ha ha ha, I'll take this.", the thief smirked.
But it was right then that he saw Muerta in front of her.
"You heard her. Hands off.", Muerta glared menacingly.
The thief gasped and backed away toward Rachel.
"Okay, okay. You can have it back. Just take me to jail! Anything's safer than having to deal with her!", the thief pleaded while not only returning the money, but also going to the police while speaking to them and pointing to Muerta.
Of course, once he and the police were out of earshot, Muerta said sadly, much to Rachel's own worry.
"Are you... doing okay, Muerta?", Rachel asked.
"Not right now, Rachel.", Muerta began before she started walking away, worrying the ice princess.
Meanwhile, Finn was just as bummed.
"Apparently, I suck at being nonviolent.", Finn said sadly. "I'm starting to think Rae-Rae was right about us being non-violent being a bad thing."
"Dude, suckin' at somethin' is the first step towards bein' sorta good at somethin'. You and I are like little baby Billys right now, and we're 'sucking' on our first bottle of nonviolent milk!", Jake assured.
Finn only gave a frustrated sigh.
"Totes. I'll stop 'pooping' my diaper.", Finn responded.
"Whoa, what?!", Jake exclaimed.
A townsperson with a fire-spitting belly button passed by in panic.
"HELP! I NEED MEDICAL HELP!", the townsperson shouted.
"Medical help? Hmmmmm...", Finn pondered.
Moments later, outside the shop, especially in the hospital where Finn and Jake are doctors.
"How can we help?", Finn asked.
"I want surgery to make my body hot.", LSP replied.
"Yikes...", Finn said.
"Yeah. I know I'm already pretty smokin'... but I bought this swimsuit, so I need a swimsuit body.", LSP explained before Jake whistled.
"You up for some serious plastic surgery?", Jake asked.
Then, the Adventure Time logo swirled onto the screen, after which Lumpy Space Princess came out of the hospital with a new body, complete with legs.
"Aw, yeah! This body's hot! And powerful!", LSP said.
But she was just about to find out how literal it is as suddenly, machine parts formed on her body like a cyborg, starting with arm blades, one for each arm.
"Huh?! Aw, what?!"
What's more, her legs turned into a wheel, causing her to make pained noises.
"Dude, did you use a magic nail again?", Jake asked.
"I've got three left!", Finn asked.
Lumpy Space Princess groaned as she gained a robotic eye.
"What did you do to me?"
"We transformed you into a cyborg fighter! That's hot, right?", Finn asked.
"No one thinks this look is hot!", LSP objected.
But then, the cobbler suddenly walked up.
"Oh, my laces! You're the most beautiful—"
But before he could finish, he suddenly got shot with a laser from her robotic eye.
"Huh?!"
LSP screamed as her wheel activated and she sped into the cobbler. The townsperson with the flame-shooting belly button even ran by again screaming.
"...Jake...?", Finn asked.
"...Yeah...?", Jake asked.
"I think us being nonviolent... is hurting people. Man... Billy is gonna be so bummed out...", Finn said sadly.
"Not if we run away, Finn! We'll have to live in halfway homes and be cannibals! We'll survive!", Jake assured.
"I just wanna sit here and moan.", Finn said sadly as he sat down against the wall.
"Then I'll moan with ya, buddy.", Jake said, sitting down next to him.
"Thaaaanks, buuuddy...", Finn moaned.
"Yoooouuu'rrre weeeelcooome...", Jake moaned in addition.
As for Muerta and Rachel, they were walking down the village just as sadly.
"What's the matter?", Rachel asked.
"Everything's changed since I saw you at the Well of Power. Being around you, it makes me feel these stupid emotions I don't fully understand and I wish it didn't."
Rachel gave a sad look before she put her hand on her shoulder.
"Muerta... I'm not sure I fully understand how to help you myself..., but still. I'm not gonna give up until you learn. I mean, you've learned sadness and rage all on your own, didn't you? So, maybe with a little help, you can learn other emotions, too.", Rachel assured.
Just then, the townsperson with a fire-spitting belly, screamed as he ran past them.
"Come to think of it, maybe we could start by trying to fully understand how he's still here running around.", Rachel said.
Just then, more cries of help sounded.
"AAAH! AAAH! HELP ME!", the old lady shouted.
"Hahaha! Relax! I'm just gonna grind you up!", the swamp giant shouted as the old lady screamed.
"Seriously? That grass-bag, again?", Rachel groaned.
Meanwhile, Jake was just as ticked off.
"Aw, man, this grass-bag again?", Jake asked before he shouted heroically. "HEY, EVIL-DOER!"
He then continued weakly.
"Um... could you keep your evil-doing quiet? Finn is dealing with some heavy stuff over here."
"It's not evil! When they get this old, they wanna be ground up! Hahaha! Right, you old bat?!", the swamp giant smirked.
"Help!", the old lady shouted.
Finn started to sweat.
"Right?!", the swamp giant smirked.
Seeing this was enough to get Muerta angry as her blank look finally started to form an angry look before her she closed her hand into a fist and then raised in righteous anger.
As for Finn, he strained, visibly in conflict before noticing his fist raised in righteous anger, too.
"Huh? A fist raised in righteous anger?! Oh, no! It's my fist! I've gotta think of a way to save this old lady without punchin' this guy in the face! Hmmm..."
"Yeah, you wanna get ground up, right?!", the swamp giant smirked to the old lady.
"WRONG!", Muerta shouted before she punched him in the face 6 times and then finished with an uppercut, sending him up into the air much to Finn, Jake, and Rachel's surprise.
"Muerta...?!", Rachel gasped in surprise.
"Jake, help me catch her.", Finn urged.
"Okay!", Jake agreed before he and Finn both held out their arms, linking to one another.
"Whooo!", the old lady shouted before she fell in Finn's and Jake's arms.
"Whoa...! Muerta, did you just...?", Rachel asked.
"Beat up that bad guy?", Muerta guessed before realizing something. "Uh..., yeah. I guess I did."
"I was gonna say save the old lady heroically, but that works, too.", Rachel grinned before hugging her.
"You did it, Muerta. You beat your first bad guy other than the Lich!", Rachel grinned.
"Really? I did?", Muerta asked, earning Rachel's nod.
"Maybe next, I'll help you learn about humor.", Rachel said.
"What is humor?", Muerta puzzled.
"Like I said, I'll help you learn about it.", Rachel assured before Muerta noticed Finn, Jake, and the old lady.
"Oh, hey, guys. What happened?", Muerta asked.
"I couldn't think of anything...", Finn responded with a sigh.
"What's your huff, son?", the old lady asked.
"The greatest hero in the world told me to help people without being violent... and I promised I would do that and not let him down... but I almost let 'im down.", Finn said.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure you already did that when you did the stone skin gruel and tried cobbling. And I don't even want to know what'd happen if you tried the medical help.", Rachel said.
"Ohhhh...", Finn said guiltily before inhaling sharply.
"You guys tried to help with the hospital, didn't you?", Rachel asked, earning Finn's guilty sigh of confirmation.
"Listen. He may feel otherwise, but it's okay if you can't help non-violently. You can do things better in your own way. Honestly, I hadn't expected Muerta to do what you would've done, but still.", Rachel grinned.
"The Ice Princess is right! You sure helped this old gal out! And you did it with violence! Like a true hero, you were born to punch evil creatures!", the old lady said before she punched Finn playfully.
"Just like I was born to be an old lady! Don't deny your rowdy nature, paladins!"
The old lady then started dancing happily.
"And don't take advice from old people!"
"Huh?", Rachel puzzled.
"Old people...!", Muerta began.
Then, suddenly she started to giggle, puzzling Rachel.
"Huh? What's so funny?", Rachel asked.
Muerta then sighed for a bit before explaining.
"I... I think I understand humor...! You say the most ridiculous thing possible and it somehow makes... laughter.", Muerta said before laughing as the old lady continued dancing.
"Well, not exactly how I wanted to teach you, but... Yeah, you're already on your way to learning more emotions.", Rachel grinned.
"It's all so clear to me! Back to the cave of Billy!", Finn shouted.
"Cha!", Rachel and Jake shouted in unison with Muerta still giggling.
Later, at Billy's cave...
"It's us again.", Finn said.
"And we've got exciting news!", Jake added.
"Aw, I don't—I don't wanna buy anything.", Billy groaned.
"It's okay. We're not here to sell anything.", Muerta grinned.
"Billy, an old lady told me that I shouldn't listen to you because you're old. Also, that I should do what I was born to do... which is kickin' buns.", Finn grinned.
"Don't you see how pointless it is? You know what's probably happening to that old lady right now? She's probably dead!", Billy argued.
"She's right here.", Jake assured, turning around and revealing her.
"Hello!", the old lady greeted before Billy gasped.
"We saved 'er, Billy.
"Muerta saved 'er.", Jake corrected.
"Uh, yeah. That's right. I saved her.", Muerta assured.
"And with 6 clean punches and an uppercut, too.", Rachel added.
"That's right. She saved 'er using violence. And that's not a bad thing, Billy! This old lady is alive because of these!", Finn assured, holding up his fists and leg for emphasis. "And look how happy she is, man! She's elated!"
"Hmm. Perhaps you're right.", Billy said before giving a pained groan.
"Billy! Are you okay?", Rachel asked.
"It's... it's as if your friend's words are filling a void in my very being... You wanna watch?", Billy asked, revealing a literal void in his stomach.
Finn, Jake, Rachel, and Muerta gasped as the hole started filling up with body mass.
"Nothung!", Billy called before the sword came back once again.
"Finn, Jake, Rachel, and Muerta... truly, you are my heroes.", Billy grinned. "You, especially Muerta."
Muerta gave a bit of a gasp.
"Uh..., thank you.", Muerta grinned, albeit nervously.
Of course, Finn and Jake laughed excitedly.
"Now you're freakin' me out...", Billy said before Finn, Jake, and the old lady climbed on Billy enthusiastically.
"All right, guys. Get off.", Rachel said as she took Finn and Jake off Billy.
"We're his heroes!", Jake said.
"I know, guys. Be cool.", Rachel said as Billy looked at the old lady.
"Huh... Hello.", Billy greeted.
"Ha! Haha! I love you, Billy!", Jake spoke eagerly.
"Okay, guys. I think he's had enough.", Muerta said.
"Get outta here!", Billy shouted before Rachel and Muerta, along with Finn and Jake, who were laughing heartily, ran out quickly. As all four left, Billy nodded contentedly.
Meanwhile, Rachel spoke to Muerta as the two entered through the hole leading to the chamber where they crystal eye awaited.
"So, Muerta, what convinced you to come along with us? I thought you were busy guarding the Lich to be sure he doesn't escape.", Rachel said.
"Well, I was... But something went wrong.", Muerta said.
"Really? What...?", Rachel asked.
"Well..., it's a bit hard to explain, so I think it's best if I show you.", Muerta began before she pointed to the Lich's frozen carcass.
But this time, his eyes weren't glowing green at all.
"Huh? Well, the Lich is here, all right, but where are his eyes?", Rachel asked.
"I think his soul left this skeleton to look for a vessel to possess.", Muerta explained.
"What...?", Rachel asked in worry. "Is that even possible?", Rachel asked.
"Maybe. I mean, Billy didn't have a heart before. Literally. As limited as my knowledge on living beings is, I do know this: everyone needs a heart to survive.", Muerta said.
Rachel gave a concerned look before turning to the dungeon entrance from which they entered.
"Don't worry, Muerta. If the Lich did possess Billy, we'll figure out some way to drive him out and save Billy.", Rachel vowed before becoming a bit worried as she gazed to the frozen carcass. "That is.., if we can."
