Murray gave Kate a glass of water, who sat on the chair. She took a glass on her shaking hands, even though she was calm.
"Are you sure that you're okay?" Murray asked worriedly, while Kate drank water.
"I'm fine, really." She made sure to everyone, but looked at Murray.
"You tried to tell us something, what was it?" Kit asked, who had sat on the chair, almost right in front of her.
Kate looked at her first, before she looked to the floor.
"Okay, so um; I supposed to go to my ancestors hometown, or time won't start to work, something like… ow." Kate said suddenly and started to hold her head.
"Is it too much to ask something from the headache?" They heard Kate asking.
Carmelita reacted to that first and went to get a hand towel on the closet.
"Dios mío that you're pale." She said worriedly, when she gave a warm towel to Kate, who sighs thankful and leaned back.
"I've looked worse." They heard a tired mumble coming from her mouth.
Carmelita looked at the other and nodded her head to Sly to the living room side.
"What?" Sly asked, when they were on the other side.
"What did she mean with that?" Carmelita whispered, looking seriously at him, pointing at Kate quickly.
"It's nothing bad, just sprained her ankle and got some small damages on missions." Sly whispered to her, when Carmelita crossed her arm and held her serious look.
"Tell me, how long have you known her?"
Sly looked away, scratching a cheek and gave her a math calculation.
"18 - 5. But she lied about her age first." Sly mumbled, seeing Carmelita staring at him horrified.
Before Carmelita couldn't say a word, they heard careful steps coming closer.
"¿Señorita, estás bien?" Julia asked, where Carmelita reacted.
"What did you just say?" She asked, but saw that the youngest started to turn into red.
"I- I'm so sorry, I thought that…" Julia said and covered her mouth, embarrassed.
Julia walked closer to Kate and tapped her left arm, who had already waited for her. Knowing her friend she might be locked with her thoughts.
"Carm, Juli speaks lots of different languages. And for you," -she looked at her friend-.
"You said that correctly,"
An awkward silence came to the safe-house and Kate saw how everyone looked away from her. Murray started whistling, which he does only when something has happened.
"Guys, what's going on?" Kate asked slowly and looked at each of them one by one.
"You didn't tell her?" Penelope whispered to Bentley, hiding them behind her laptop.
"No." Bentley answered, tapping his fingers together and looking away.
"Tell me what?" Kate asked slowly, turning her head to Bentley.
Sly walked closer to the situation, while Carmelita decided to stay on the living room side.
"Kate, Carmelita isn't Carmelita anymore. She's now Vexen Nightshade."
"And what's next; She's a thief," Kate joked, but didn't get an answer.
"You guys are joking, right?" Kate asked now seriously and stood up to look at them.
No answer.
"Right?"
"Thieves?!" Julia raised her voice and watched everyone shocked.
Kate wouldn't believe either what she has heard and look at Carmelita, or, Vexen confuses.
"Okay, time to tell you everything." Vexen told them and showed a couch on the living room side.
The other looked when teenagers and Vexen spoke in the living room, which looked going well. Others even realize that Kate didn't stop Vexen, while she told them how she had become a thief.
After Vexen has told her story to girls, they still wouldn't believe their ears.
"And this Ivan, who's he again?" Kate asked, elbows leaning to her knees, while Julia almost squeezed with her fingers to a couch pillow.
"A really good person," Murray said, walking closer to them.
"He has felt, seen and heard a lot of his life. When he became a grandfather, he stopped the thief's life. Also he likes pickles."
"Eew~!" Julia and Kate said, looking disgusted, where Vexen agreed with chuckles.
Bentley brought a medic kit to the living room side and asked that Kate show her hand.
"Bentley really, I'm okay. I don't feel dizzy or anything like that." She told him.
"No no, this is about your DNA," Bentley said, looking at a cat-eared human, whose hand leaned on her cheek.
"If we want to know your ancestors' hometown, it's better to take a blood test and the rest of you already know."
"But how? I mean, Julia and I aren't even from here." Kate said, making a half circle with her hand.
Penelope walked closer, holding a white tube, which looked like sci-fi,or nano tech, which Kate has no idea about.
"With this one, it shows the family tree. I have used that to me and it works. All I have to do is plug it into my laptop." She explains to everyone, but sees Kate still suspicious.
Kate isn't ready to trust her clearly, even though she's Penelope whom they met back in Holland.
"Do your magic." Kate sighs, straightening her right arm and looking lazily to the left.
While Bentley put gloves on his hands, Julia walked to the windows quickly, hugging herself. The other looked at Julia and then Kate.
"She doesn't like these." Kate whispered, meaning the needle.
Everyone opened their mouths and nodded their heads understanding. Kit looked to the youngest one, who now looked outside just like earlier and decided to have a conversation with her.
