Welcome to my very first "What if" series where we explore what would happen if these events happen to our beloved characters. How will it go? In this first ever "What if" Series, we delve into the realms of imagination and explore what would happen if Adam and Melanie, beloved characters from separate universes, come together and welcome a child into their lives in this different universe.

However, please remember that this is non-canon to the Main Magical World Story.

One hour turns into two, two turns into three, then four, then five, six, and finally seven. Seven hours have passed as Adam waited in the parlor of the Manor.

Seven hours.

Seven hours, it has been hours since Melanie has gone into labor at 1 am in the morning. It was starting to dawn as the light shone through the windows of the Manor and the sun rose up.

Now, it's 8 am in the morning right now.

For seven hours Adam had been waiting there, pacing across the floor as wave after wave of nervous energy crashed around him, his movements frantic and jerky. Many times he had almost decided to take on the four servants that blocked his way, going four against one, fist in an epic battle that would most certainly go down in history. But each time he had paused in his restless rhythm, the staff had stiffened, prepared to block his entrance with brute force if the need arose.

Luckily for him, it had never come to that, for the moment he was getting ready to engage the battle, three pairs of hands, forcing him to return to his anxious waiting.

What was taking so long?

Glancing over at the four males staff that had taken over the job of stopping him from making a fool of himself and out of the room, Adam couldn't help the sinking feeling that spread throughout his chest at the sight of their faces, all of them expressing their worry in their own unique way that did nothing to help make him feel better.

Gabriel, as always as the leader, stood tall, his back straight enough to put any pole to shame. His eyes were fixed upon the grandfather clock in the parlor, checking to see how long it had been. Next to the raven, drinking on something that he had to suspect was coffee was Logan, his eyes closed almost as if he was sleeping, though the twitch that ran through his ears every once and a while proved otherwise.

Staghart sat next to Silver as he patted his hands, to calm the young glasses wearing adult down. They too are also worried about Melanie and the baby as well. But they know that the doctor and maids, including Rachel, have everything under control to make sure both mother and the baby are safe without any complications during the delivery.

Destiny and Jasiri ate some food and drink together from the Manor kitchen, although it looks like they were trying to keep themselves from sleeping. Their eyes looked very tired and red started to appear as each tried to engage in conversation together in hope of keeping them awake. Toren and Poe were both peacefully asleep on the separate sofa, getting some sleep and rest as they waited for someone to wake them up until the delivery was over.

In the parlor room, all he heard was Melanie screaming above the floor. Adam and Melanie have been married for just four years, Melanie discovered that she was pregnant and that they are going to be parents of their child. Now the wait was over and Adam, nervous as can be, kept pacing in the parlor room.

"She's going to be fine… M-Melanie is going to be fine." Adam kept thinking in his head, over and over again.

Dr. Jo Wilson and three selected maids of the household, were helping Melanie deliver their baby while Rachel was also in there inside the room helping her ghostly friend out. So he waited for what seemed like forever to him.

As to why Adam wasn't in the delivery room, where Melanie came from, back then, husbands weren't allowed to be present when their wife had gone into labor, it was considered a disrespect to the woman and her pain. However, Adam knew that things had changed. And he knows that this rule doesn't apply to him anymore in today's century. He should have known that by now. But he wanted to follow that old tradition rule of childbirth.

But now he regretted.

Running his hands through his brown hair, Adam let out a long slow sigh, the muscles in his neck tightening into painful knots as another screech rent the air around him, turning the most peaceful moment they had had in the past few hours once more into a battle field as Melanie fought to bring their child into the world. Though he was loath to admit it, hearing his wife cries actually helped to calm him a bit, for each scream that interrupted the silence just meant that she was alive and struggling, that he hadn't yet left her for the other world. That Melanie was one step closer to surviving this trial.

But even as he listened to Melanie loud screaming, Adam could tell that something had changed.

Freezing with his foot half in the air, the hair rising on the back of his neck, Adam twirled towards the exit as the screech was cut short, leaving behind a ghostly silence in its stead. For a long while nothing seemed to happen as they waited with bated breath, everyone's gaze fixed on the parlor room wide door.

No sound of pain coming inside anymore. No more sounds of Melanie cries or screaming in agony. Then, as suddenly as Melanie had been cut off, her scream was replaced with a happy echoing sound and the baby crying that shattered the ice that had formed around his heart, sending it racing twice as fast as it had been before. A large smile spreading across his face, his eyes filling with joyful tears, Adam turned to face the others that had waited with him and uttered the first words to be spoken since this whole ordeal began.

"I'm a dad."

It wasn't long before Rachel entered the parlor room through the open entrance way, the dark circles under her eyes barely noticeable as she flashed the brightest smile he had ever seen. Going to the cyborg man who stood in the center of the room, she happily pulled him into a hug, whispering into his ear the news of his child.

"Your baby is here."

For a moment, Adam looked startled, but it was quickly replaced with his own excited grin as he lifted his friend into a spin, his barking laugh echoing down the hall. But it was none of these that Adam was focusing on. Instead, his attention was captured by the stairs as he marched his way up to his and Melanie's bedroom and the people that hid behind it.

Opening the door and entering inside, Adam was greeted with the most beautiful sight he had ever beheld, though Melanie, in bed, would be the first to deny that she had been anywhere near decent when he first saw her. Her face was flushed red with a thin sheen of sweat covering her forehead, her brunette hair was pulled into a bun and her eyes almost closed from exhaustion as she struggled to stay awake after the long hours delivery.

There is a plastered there by the damp wet cloth someone had been using to try and clean her up some, most likely Rachel if he had to take a guess or possibly one of the maids.

Melanie gave a soft smile to Adam as she looked over to their bundle of joy wrapped in a white blanket held by Dr. Jo Wilson as she slowly turned towards him and smiled, "It's a boy." She said, handing Adam the baby.

"Hold it carefully now, Adam," said an exhausted ghost woman.

Adam was instantly concerned if such a thing was a good idea, especially with his robot arm. "I-I don't know, Melanie. I've never held a baby before; I'm afraid I might hurt it-"

"You won't hurt him," Dr. Jo said before she gently handed the baby over to him. Adam was still extremely nervous when he finally had the baby in his arms.

"Congratulations Mr. Jackson, you're now officially a father of a son."

"You did it." Adam whispered, giving Melanie temple a kiss and Melanie moving closer to rest her head on his shoulder.

"WE did it." Melanie corrected softly.

"Have you guys decided the name of your son?" Dr. Jo said to the new proud parents as she stood beside Melanie on her left.

"Well, Melanie and I decided that we want our kids to have Victorian names in honor of her century of life," said Adam. "Well, we did but, given how Melanie kept changing and changing his mind during the past few months. We must have gone through about like 5,000 different names."

"My beloved Adam, we didn't go through that many names, and you pretty much agreed with every name I suggested," Melanie protested.

"Well, you suggested a lot of good names, and when you have that many, it's hard to choose very good ones." Adam chuckled.

"Well, I think we should name our beloved son later." Melanie suggested, Adam agrees with her as both stare down at their newborn baby.

"Oh!" Adam sighed, "He…. He looks wonderful!" Pressing his finger carefully onto his son's cheek.

"Oh, my dear, he does look marvelous, doesn't he?" Melanie said, smiling at her husband, whose eyes were gazing at their son. "Just like his father."

"Indeed, he does." Adam said, his voice thick with emotion.

The newly-parents were standing close each other on the bed, staring down at their sweet bundle of joy. Adam felt as if a heavy weight had been lifted from his soul, and that he no longer needed to worry about anything. Ever again.

Soon, their baby slowly opens his green eyes, Adam's green cybernetic eyes, looking into his parent's eyes, as if trying to search for something. With his first glance he saw his Dad. Soon after, he smiled and giggled, warming Adam's heart.

"Hello there, little one," Adam cooed, tears slowly rising up. "You've made quite the entrance into our lives. We've been eagerly waiting for you for months."

Melanie's gentle smile mirrored Adam's as she reached out to stroke their baby's cheek. "You are our little miracle, a symbol of our love and the beginning of a beautiful journey together. We promise to protect and cherish you every step of the way."

Their son blinked up at them, seemingly captivated by their voices. Adam's heart swelled with a profound sense of responsibility and devotion, knowing that he held a future in his arms.

"You have your mother's eyes," Adam whispered, his voice filled with adoration. "Those sparkling eyes are a reflection of the love that brought you into this world."

Melanie nestled closer to Adam, her gaze fixed on their child. "And you have your father's strength and resilience. You are destined for greatness, my little one."

As they continued to marvel at their baby, Adam couldn't help but think about the incredible journey they had embarked upon. From the moment he and Melanie met, their lives had been intertwined in a tale of love, adventure, and now, parenthood.

"You've made us a family," Adam said softly, chuckled escape from his mouth. "Our love has blossomed into this beautiful, precious life. We will guide you, teach you, and be there for you every step of the way."

Melanie nodded, her voice filled with determination. "We'll create a world filled with love, warmth, and magic for you. We'll surround you with the support and care you need to flourish. You are our greatest joy."

Adam gently rocked their baby in his arms, savoring the weight and warmth of his child against his chest. "We promise to be the best parents we can be, to cherish and nurture you, and to be your unwavering support. Our love for you knows no bounds."

Melanie leaned her head against Adam's shoulder, tears of happiness shimmering in her eyes. "You are our little miracle, and we are forever grateful for this precious gift."

As they continued to marvel at their precious boy, Dr. Jo stood nearby, watching the new parents with a warm smile. "It's a joyous occasion," she said, her voice filled with genuine happiness. "You both have been blessed with a healthy and beautiful baby boy."

Adam looked up at the doctor. "Thank you, Dr. Jo," he said, his voice laced with sincerity. "We can't express how grateful we are for your help and support throughout this journey."

Dr. Jo nodded. "It was my pleasure," she replied. "Bringing new life into the world is a privilege, and I'm glad I could be a part of this special moment."

As his eyes went back to his son, Adam was captivated by the innocence and wonder within him. He exchanged a glance with his wife, their hearts swelling with love and pride.

"Oh little one," Adam whispered, his voice filled with tenderness. "We've been waiting to meet you for so long. You've brought us more joy than we could have ever imagined."

Melanie gently stroked their baby's cheek, her voice soft and soothing. "You are our precious miracle, a gift from the universe. We promise to protect you, guide you, and love you with all our hearts. Welcome to the world, our little angel."

Their son's eyes seemed to hold a spark of recognition, as if he understood the profound love his parents felt for him. His tiny hand reached out, grasping Adam's finger, creating a connection that transcended words.

"You have your dad's strength and your mom's resilience," Adam murmured, his voice filled with awe. "We will be here for you every step of the way, supporting you, and helping you become the person you're destined to be."

Melanie leaned closer, her voice carrying a mix of emotions. "You are a precious piece of both of us, a reflection of our love. May your life be filled with happiness, laughter, and endless possibilities. We will cherish every moment with you, my boy."

The parents continued to marvel at their child, the room filled with an overwhelming sense of joy and warmth. Time seemed to stand still as the new parents soaked in the magnitude of this profound moment.

In that room, they began to dream of the future, envisioning all the adventures, milestones, and shared memories they would create as a family. Their love for each other multiplied as it expanded to encompass their child, creating a bond that would endure through all of life's challenges.

In that room, love was tangible, filling every corner and filling their hearts to the brim. As their baby drifted off to sleep, cradled in Adam's arms, Adam and Melanie exchanged a glance, silently promising to be the best parents they could be.
