:-[Chapter 18]-:
"Why would I do that? After all, I may need some proof that you had your ways with me." Said the witch while putting a hand on her growing belly.
"No... it can't be possibly be mine." Implored the prince.
"It is very possible, my dear prince. Who knows what this future son of Targaryen descend could do with a mother like me." Said Serala while licking her lips.
:-[T.A.B]-:
Duskendale. The combine host of six of the seven kingdoms in Westeros was finally there. So many different banners floating in the air. The many different camps were being organized by their respective leader, with the exception of the Reach. Mace Tyrell, the Fat Flower of Highgarden was currently feasting in his tent while Lord Randyl Tarly took charge.
The city was completely surrounded was land and by sea. The Royal Fleet had taken position in Blackwater Bay on both side of the city, to make sure no ships could flee without being seen led by Gerold Hightower himself.
The North and the Vale were assigned to the Western Gate, down Duskendale Road. If everything was going smoothly, they wouldn't even need to fight but the King himself insisted. The Riverlands and Dorne were given The Middlor Gate while Tywin and the Crownlands host were already near Rosby Road, ready to pounce on the Southern Gate.
The main Lords of Westeros with the best knights were inside the giant royal tent. You could feel the tension in the air while they were all waiting for the king to appear.
Suddenly, the flap door opened, letting King Aerys entered, surrounded by his Kingsguards. All went to their knees when he made his appearance.
"Get up, all of you. In the morrow, I will enter the city to negotiate the liberation of my son from House Darklyn." Started the king, sitting on his makeshift throne. "You are all to stay here, out of view of their towers, am I clear?
A choruses of, 'Yes your grace was heard' within the tent.
"Your grace, may I speak?" asked Eddard, putting himself at the forefront and bended his knee.
"Who is this young pup here? What is he doing here, with the men?" guffawed Mace Tyrell, trying to make his lords laughed with him but with little success.
"This is Eddard Stark, second son of Rickard Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North." Announced Ser Rodrik, who was just behind his lord with Harry.
"I wanted the Old Wolf to come but I guess it was too much to ask of him, aye? Fine, what do you want, little wolf?" snarled Aerys.
"Your grace, I believe we have a plan to save prince Rhaegar. We have acquired special climbing equipment that will help us climb Dun Fort's walls." Continued Eddard without showing any weakness.
Aerys only laughed when he heard Eddard proposition.
"Ah! The only one to propose something is the youngest here! Even the mighty Tywin Lannister didn't do nothing when his Prince was taken, satisfied by staying there, his head in the sand."
Tywin's face showed nothing of the rage that was burning inside his mind and heart. The constant insult he had to endure from the man while running his kingdom for him was getting harder and harder and he was reaching his boiling point. Fortunately for him, the king didn't even look in his direction and wave at Eddard, showing him to continue.
"Your grace, I believe we can send a small group tonight to free the Prince before you go yourself, guarantying your safety. Before we left from Winterfell, our Maester, Maester Luwin manage to find plan of the inside of the castle." Continued the young wolf without showing a hint of nervousness.
"Your grace, I think this plan is bold enough to work. The Darklyn will never see it coming, knowing you are coming in person tomorrow." Said Barristan Selmy.
Arthur Dayne immediately went to his knee before his king, begging for his approval to accompany them.
"My king, please let me join them. Let me save Prince Rhaegar."
Aerys said nothing for a long moment, looking at his bannermen who were fidgeting in place.
"Who would go save my son, young wolf?" inquired Aerys, squinting his eyes in his direction.
"Myself your grace, Ser Rodrik here present and my sworn sword, Harry Winterstorm, also a member of my father household guard."
"Three men. That is what you are proposing. Three men against the entire garrison of Dun Fort." Thundered the king.
"Your grace, too many men would easily attract attention from said garrison. We are not going to fight, but to rescue the Prince." Said Eddard, still unfazed by the king's reaction.
"Hum. I am still not convinced on why I should sent children and some knight nobody knows to save the Heir to the Iron Throne."
"Your grace, if I may." Said Barristan Selmy, bowing his head. The king simply wave at him to give him consent to speak. "I fought personally with Ser Rodrik during the War of the Ninepenny Kings. He is a ferocious warrior in his own right. If it pleases your grace, I will go with them to rescue Prince Rhaegar."
"As am I, your grace." Repeated Ser Arthur, still on his knee.
"Eager to prove yourself Ser Dayne? Being my Kingsguard is not enough for you?" snarled the king.
"Your grace, I am only eager to retrieve our Prince from the witch's claws." Said Arthur, hoping the king would accept his offer.
Aerys stay seated for a moment, not saying anything and watching the group of five men wanting to risk their lives for his son. He wasn't really surprise by Barristan and Arthur offer. Both of them were honorable to a fault and would accept every order he would give.
"Very well. Leave for Dun Fort. However, if you fail, I will put House Stark and the North personally responsible for any kind of failure, do you understand, little pup?
"Aye, your grace, we do." Answered Eddard.
:-[T.A.B]-:
Harry had put his black leather armor for the occasion. If Aerys knew that he would be the only one going, he doubted he would have accepted the plan. Eddard was a good swordsman and very sure on his feet but Rickard would take Harry's head in a heartbeat if he was to risk him in such a mission.
The young warrior crafted his new armor with the help of Mikken. Even though he didn't use it every day, he made damn sure to put a silencing spell on it every morning after his meditation. After years of doing so, the armor was now soaked in his magic, making him as silent as a cat.
Before leaving the Stark's main tent, he made sure that his scarf was put well on his face, hiding it from view and put his hood on his head.
"Are you sure you don't want me to go with you, Harry?" asked Eddard for the thousandth time.
"Yes, Ned, I am. Ser Barristan and Ser Arthur are coming with me. I can hardly ask for better blades, no offence.
"None taken. I know Harry, I just wished I could come with you and help you." Pointed out the Stark.
"I know my friend but trust me, it is better this way. Now I need to go get them. Ser Barristan gave me a location to find them in the woods surrounding Duskendale."
"Be careful. Don't show too much." Warned Eddard.
"Right. Stay here, this shouldn't be long." Said Harry, putting his sword on his back.
Harry left the left and blended in the dark of the night. His movements were swift and precise. With his enchanted armor, nobody in the camp was able to see him.
The young wizard entered the forest between the royal armies and Duskendale, to rejoin the two Kingsguards. He didn't even turned his head when his direwolf was suddenly by his side.
"Yet another adventure that I cannot join you Master. I am starting to fell useless here." Laughed mentally Hedwig.
"Girl, your time to shine will come again. But I agree, while I am not that excited to fight again, I am happy to think we will do it together." Answered the wizard, running with ease in the woods.
"What did you think of King Aerys, Master?" asked Hedwig, changing the subject.
"He is a dangerous man and not just because he is a king. I could easily discern some trace of madness with the man. The rumors on him seem to be true. I regret letting you stay in Winterfell, girl. I think your presence endanger yourself."
"No chances in Hell that I was going to let you leave Winterfell without me again. I am full size now and no two legged warrior can withstand me."
"Careful Hedwig. Any arrows or a random swing from a sword can kill you. Yes, your skin is much more harder than ours but you still need to be careful. Anyway, your presence will help me even if you are not directly with me. Our connection is way better than it was years ago."
"That's true. Do you trust these two legged human you will do with?" asked the with direwolf.
"Barristan Selmy and Arthur Dayne. I trust their ability, but not the men themselves as I don't know them yet. I know Ser Barristan is supposedly a man of great honor from what Ser Rodrik told me and one of, if not the best knight in Westeros. I don't know much about the other, Ser Arthur except for the fact that is named the Sword of the Morning and is apparently the best sword in Dorne."
"I hope they are Master, for all of your sakes." Said Hedwig.
After around ten minutes running in the woods, Harry, with the great help of his familiar, found the two Kingsguards, sitting on a dead log, talking softly between each other. Harry was happy that they had the decency of not wearing their flashy white uniform for the occasion. They each wore dark clothes to better hide in the environment. The wizard thought that if he didn't have Hedwig and her senses, if would have much more difficulty to have found them.
Unlike him, the knights still haven't heard him. He purposefully steps loudly on a branch in order to attract their attention. As soon as he did, they turned around while unleashing their sword in the same fluid movement.
"Who's there?" ask Barristan, his voice firm and unwavering.
"Harry Winterstorm, Ser. You told me to found you around here."
The two Kingsguards put their sword back in their scabbard, now reassured.
"Where is your lord, lad?" inquired Arthur. "I thought he said he would accompany you with this Ser Rodrik. Did they change their mind about the mission?"
"No, Ser. It was always the plan for me to come alone. Would you really risk your lord's son on this kind of mission? We knew King Aerys would not agree to this mission if he knew I was going alone." Answered truthfully Harry.
"So you lied to your king?"
"We lied so we could go save Prince Rhaegar from Serala of Myr's vicious claws. Are you really going to try and stop me because of some white lie or are you going to help me save him?" asked Harry, raising an eyebrow below his hood.
Arthur was about to retort something but was stop by Barristan's hand on his shoulder.
"Now isn't the time, young Arthur. Our Prince needs us now more than ever. I would have gone myself and I know you would have done the same, with or without His Grace's approval. We need to trust in this young man's abilities and go forward from there, understand?" said the knight firmly.
Arthur only nodded at his elder, looking at Harry with suspicion.
"Young Harry, I trust you have bring climbing equipment with you?" inquired Ser Barristan.
"Aye. We're going to need it for the Dun Fort's walls. The city itself is on lockdown and I very much doubt the gate is not highly guarded. We're going to need to find a weakness in their patrol and climb up. I assume you can handle climbing?"
"I believe we can." Said a deadpanned Barristan.
:-[T.A.B]-:
Duskendale had multiple layers of walls to protect her. The outside wall protected the city in itself. It was the first obstacle they needed to overcome. Under the cover of the starless night, the group of three men ran toward the stone walls, avoiding the gaze of the guards.
Harry emerald green eyes saw Hedwig still in the wood, where she would be his look out for the first phase. When she nodded her head, the young wizard started to spin around his hook and threw it high in air. Thanks to his silencing spell, the hook gripped itself upon one of the battlement without a sound.
Making sure the hook was firmly in place, Harry met Barristan's gaze who seemed impressed by the move and the three men started putting their climbing shoes taken from the Sistermen years ago. With a nod, the knight was the first to start climbing the rope attached to the hook. The young wizard went second, making sure with Hedwig and quickly followed the older Kingsguard who was already up.
Arrived at the top of the wall, Harry quickly hides himself in the shadows beside Barristan who had a knife at the ready. Arthur Dayne followed a couple of seconds later, panting harder than the two others but ready. The man from Starfall took the hook and the rope and gave it back to Harry whop put it in his small bag.
"Come on, with have to get down the wall and go through the city." Whispered Barristan.
The small group was lucky that no guards were in the vicinity and they hurriedly went down to hide within the population. Harry found many hooded cloaks on a washing line of what seemed to be a tavern.
Now more inconspicuous and with their weapons hidden from view, the three men walked at a good distance from each other but not enough to lose visual contact. Even with the armies from all over Westeros outside, the inhabitants of Duskendale didn't seem to be bothered in the least.
Harry saw Barristan take a sharp turn in an alley. He barely had time to see why before a patrol turned the corner. Four men were approaching fast in his direction. He decided to stay calm and simply continuing his way. With his hood and scarf, there was no way he could be recognized like Barristan or even Arthur could be since he was from so far North.
The patrol went past him without issues, like he thought. He saw Barristan's head just around the same corner the guards arrived from, hand on his knife. Harry made a simple gesture with his hand to show him not do anything. The knight swiftly nod and continued on his way. The young wizard looked behind him and saw that Arthur had disappeared too into the crowd, probably to avoid the patrol.
Suddenly, Harry felt the tip of a knife on his stomach. A man was in front of him.
"Well, well… isn't it unsafe to walk alone in the dark? Follow me or die where you stand." Said the man.
Even from under his scarf, Harry could easily smell the fetid breath coming from the mugger. Not wanting to attract attention more, the wizard decided to obey the thief for the moment. The man pushed him in an alley where nobody was.
"Girl, get ready." Ordered Harry, whose eyes suddenly became to light up.
"Always Master."
Before Harry could start his move, three other men came from the shadows. They all had the same scum looking look 'dressed' in their rags.
"I don't have time for this."
Faster than anyone could blink, Harry turned behind him and grabbed the first man' wrist. With a sharp twist, he easily broke the bone with his super strength. The thief screamed in pain for barely a second before getting knock out by the young warrior fist in his jaw. Before the body hit the ground, Harry grabbed the knife and threw it in one of the mugger's chest, making fall, dead on the spot.
The two other men looked at each other and then Harry. They charge at him in unison, hoping that numbers would win. One man had a club, while the other had another small knife. The club man tried to swing toward the wizard head but Harry avoided the blow by taking a quick step back, making him stumble. The club finished right on his friend's face who was momentarily knocked out of his feet. The green eye warrior grabbed the man by the hair and smashed his face on a barrel that was nearby.
He took the club and swing it the hardest he could on the last man standing, who was starting to get up. The club met his face and made him meet the Stranger, who judged him and all of his friends quite harshly for their pathetic lives.
Harry took a deep breath, letting the adrenaline flow into in veins and let go of the bloody club. He didn't like killing but he didn't have a choice. Getting mugged when you don't have a single coin on yourself was synonymous of death.
"Impressive."
The young warrior lifts up his head, hearing the voice of Barristan Selmy who was standing there, sword in the back of the first thief who tried to rob him.
"Didn't occur to lend a hand?" smirked Harry under his scarf.
"You had the situation perfectly under control, Winterstorm. Come, these ruffians have done quite a noise." Answered the knight, wiping the blood from his sword with his cloak.
Harry immediately followed the Kingsguard who was already looking for Ser Arthur. The man found them right at this moment and saw the multiples bodies on the floor.
"A patrol is on its way. We need to go. Now." Said the Sword of the Morning.
The three men quickly went through the dark alleys of the town thus avoiding more easily the city watch. They arrived at in inner wall, the one protecting Dun Fort. The wall was heavily guarded by House Darklyn Household members. There would be no way of going this way this time. The gate was too under heavy surveillance.
"Let us try the harbor. It must be less guarded since no ships are coming in Duskendale for months." Said Barristan.
The group went back to the alleys and followed the direction to the inner port. The oldest Kingsguard was correct in his assumption that there would be fewer guards. The young wizard helped himself with Hedwig's sense to see better in the dark. He saw a private entrance leading to the castle itself.
Said entrance was guarded by only a few men. Few torches here and there light up the place but Harry could easily pass those guards.
"There is one guard at the door, the rest are patrolling the harbor and the court." Informed Arthur. "We can sneak in more easilythere but I think we need to force our way in."
"We do this so close to Dun Fort, Prince Rhaegar dies." Said Harry, still looking around.
"Then what do you propose? It was your plan, if I recall." Whisper shouted the Sword of the Morning.
Harry finally saw what he was looking for. The storeroom. Said room wasn't even guarded, has it was on the patrol's way.
"There, Ser." Said Harry, pointing the storeroom's door. "That is our entrance. We enter and from there, we found out where Rhaegar is."
"You mean you don't…" started Arthur.
Harry had enough. "Ser, I have no spies, no men under my command. I am a simple man trying to do what is best. I simply figure I would find a servant inside and make them talk. It is much easier than with the guards. I understand that you want to rescue the prince but I need you to trust me, aye?"
Arthur looked at him, purple eyes against greens. Both of them didn't flinch under their respective gazes.
"Fine. You have my apologies. Let's find a way to enter the storeroom without being seen." Answered the young knight.
Barristan was the first to reach to storeroom door. He tried to open it but was unable to do so.
"By the Seven Hells! It's lock." Said Barristan.
"Wait Ser, let me look." Said Harry, wanting to use the Alohomora spell on the lock.
He did so wandlessly and opened the door.
"It was simply stuck, thanks the Gods. Let's go Sers." Said Harry before entering the storeroom.
He didn't see the suspicious looks from Barristan Selmy before the knight himself entered and closed the door.
:-[T.A.B]-:
Tom Waters was an anxious man. First his lord decided to marry some witch from the continent of Essos. Then he decided from nowhere to started calling himself Prince of Duskendale when he had next to no support from other lords in the Crownlands.
When the prince arrived with his men, he thought the folly of the last few months would be over and everything would go back to normal.
But no.
Lord Denys Darklyn and his whore of a wife had decided to imprison and torture their prince. The servant in Dun Fort knew that something big was coming, he could feel it in his old bones. It was something in the air, something strange.
He walked toward his room near the storeroom in the harbor, ready for a well deserve night of sleep. He had the feeling he would be his last night without hearing the sound of war in a while.
When he opened the door to his personal room, he was suddenly pushed forward inside. He fell violently on the wooden floor, disorienting him for a moment. He heard his door close and felt two pair of hand s grab him by the arms and put him on his bed.
He saw three men in his room but couldn't see their faces as they were hidden by either a hood or a scarf. He felt a cold steel blade under his throat, making him stop moving.
"Listen here my friend. You have one chance to outlive this night. If I don't like your answer, I will slit your throat like a pig. Where is Prince Rhaegar?" said the firm voice of Harry.
"The P-Prince is prisoner in Darklyn Hall where his lordship is residing, i-inside a r-room. I can show you!" stuttered the old man.
"Told you they would be easier." Said the young wizard, shoving the servant in front of him. "Is there much guards inside Darklyn Hall?"
"N-no, my lord. Lady Serala doesn't like it where there is too many people around her bedroom. She has forbid it." Said the old man.
Tom was shoved harshly by the men behind him. They still had a knife to his throat, making it impossible for him to sound the alarm without dying. And dying he didn't want to, not yet.
When they arrived near the much-desired door, Tom didn't have the time to warn his kidnappers about the guard in front of it. One of the men beside him had the time however to take out his knife and throw it in the throat of the poor guard, who died in a gurgle of blood.
The third men quickly took the key without a word and opened the locked door. The other two shoved him inside when the third men gave a nod.
"He is here." Said the man with an angry voice.
:-[T.A.B]-:
Rhaegar Targaryen couldn't take it anymore. After months and months of physical, psychological and sexual torture, he was almost done. Tomorrow, he would beg his father to give them whatever they wanted. They had won.
His left hand, even though it had been healed by the Maester of Duskendale was hurting him like a bitch. The pain in his shoulder and back was atrocious. He didn't even have a decent meal in all the time he was here. It was only water and bread, once per day.
He was sitting in his own feces and urine for days now. The old Prince Rhaegar was now a shadow of his old self. Still bald with patches of hair, he now had an unkempt beard. He looked like he gains at least twenty years old.
He heard commotion outside, like someone drop something heavy. He barely lifted his head when the door opened. A hooded figure entered, once he never saw before. A voice speak out, a voice that he though he knew but it was impossible. His friend all but abandoned him a long time ago. They all think of him as a monster. As a rapist.
"He is here."
Three other men entered 'his' room making it four totals, the most people he saw since he was there. Was this an illusion from the Gods to torture him? One of them looked terrified to be there but was quickly knocked out by one of them.
"By the Old Gods and the New, what have they done? Prince Rhaegar?"
Rhaegar turned his hand toward the older voice. Another voice that he thought that he was friend with. The owner of the voice removed his hood, revealing his face. Ser Barristan Selmy!
"S-Ser Barristan? Is that you? Has my F-Father negotiate for my release?"
"Yes your grace, it is me. But no, your Father has sent for us to deliver you from their hands."
While Barristan was talking to the Targaryen Heir, Harry didn't lose any time, firstly he put the guard's corpse inside and then immediately went to the handcuff. He quickly removed them with a wandless Alohomora, giving the impression to the other that he used some tools, freeing the man whose arms were stiff as a board.
Arthur put the knocked out servant on the chair and removed his hood. With a wince, he tried to help Rhaegar get up but the Targaryen simply fell to the group in a soft thud.
"Come Rhaegar, we have to go before they catch us. Just fight for a little longer my friend." Said Arthur.
"Arthur? Is that really you?"
"Aye, my friend. I came as soon as your King Father allowed me to come." Answered the loyal Dornish man.
"We don't have time, Arthur, we need to leave right now. You take care of the Prince, Winterstorm and I will cover you." Said Barristan.
Rhaegar was pulled up by his friend with difficulties. After month of no walking and not moving, the prince's body was very weak. The Targaryen man could easily feel his body protested when he felt the many pops into his back. With the help of Arthur he managed to put one arm around his neck for support. They would slowly, but at the very least, he was getting out of there.
:-[T.A.B]-:
Harry was at the forefront of the group. They left the servant in the room, but not before tying him and making sure he couldn't scream for help. The young wizard was using his improved connection with Hedwig to better lead the men behind him. With his heightened senses, he was able to hear, smell and see everything better and faster than he normally would.
"I-I thought everyone had abandon m-me." Said the weak voice of Rhaegar.
Arthur was quick to reassure his friend.
"I would never abandon you. You are my friend and my prince."
"Quiet the both of you. We need to get out before we have our little reunion." Sharply ordered Harry with a voice barely above a whisper.
They went back the same way they came in. The way was still strangely clear, even outside, in the harbor. The previously present guards were now absent from the docks, giving the place a spooky look. With his senses, Harry was able to hear the soft clinging of different sets of armor.
Combine with his sense of smell, the young warrior was able to detect around twenty men waiting for them. He immediately lifted up his arm, making everyone stop in their movements.
"It's a trap." Said Harry, putting a hand on the sword on his back. "Ser Dayne, how is your swimming?"
"What?"
"There are men waiting for us on the docks. You're going to need to swim to the fleet or take a small boat and roam there." Explained Harry to the two Kingsguards.
"This is where my part of the plan is coming, Winterstorm. Before we came, I've sent a message to Ser Hightower to warn him of our plan. The fleet is already on its way under the cover of the night. We just need to send the signal." Explained Barristan.
"And how would you manage this?" inquired Harry.
"With this." Showed the Kingsguard, letting out a small bow from under his cloak. "I'll light up one arrow here and shoot it up in the sky. Ser Gerold will see our signal and launch his offensive to retrieve us quickly.
"That is good. The prince will hide here in the storeroom while we carved up our way until the Lord Commander arrives. I'll do a diversion while you send the signal." Approved Harry.
"These are knights, lad. Not some thieves in a back alley. They are trained since their birth with a sword." Said Barristan.
"Do not worry for me, Ser. I have trained with Lord Rickard's personal guards for years now. Ser Rodrik himself had seen to my training." Said the green eyes young man before leaving the room by a side window.
He perfectly blended in his environment. The clouds in the sky was effectively hiding any natural light, leaving only the torches as a source. Using his upper strength, Harry managed to get on the storeroom's roof. He used Hedwig's vision and saw that they were waiting for them behind barrels or some crates.
Harry took several steps back and ran with all his might before jumping as high and far as he could. He managed to land with a roll on the platform, behind all of the Darklyn men. The young warrior successfully hides himself behind a barrel and looked at the opposing knights.
"When will they come out?" said an anxious voice.
"Shut the fuck up you swine." Said the voice the one who seemed to be the leader. "Lady Serala sends us here to ambush those fucking Kingsguards and capture them for execution. Now be silent and watch the fucking door."
"Y-Yes Ser." Answered the voice before shutting up.
'So we were betrayed. Someone told them we were coming tonight. But who?' thought to himself the young wizard.
Deciding to leave this matter for later, Harry walked silently towards the man closest to him. He grabbed the knight by the neck and with one swift movement, slit his throat with his own knife. The sound of the man falling on the platform attracted the attention of his friends.
"Who the fuck is that!" screamed one man.
Harry wasted no time. He threw the knife directly at the man's unprotected foot to immobilize him. The knight immediately drops his sword from the sheer pain. He didn't have time to react to Harry's blade that pierce his visor, than his brain.
"Get him! He's one of them!"
Without his shield and steel armor, the young wizard knew he had to stay more mobile than usual. Multiple men charge at him at the same time. It was a rout. They didn't fought together at all, more looking to kill him quickly then effectively. Harry saw Ser Barristan Selmy emerge from the warehouse out of the corner of his eye. The man already had his bow and arrow in hand and quickly used them.
The flaming arrow flew in the air, giving the signal to the fleet. As soon as he released it, Barristan let his bow fall to the ground and got his sword out. His act of archery and the door's booming bang when he opened it attracted the attention of some of the enemy men. The way the knight used his sword in the fight was nothing more than art. Sure, you could easily see the countless hours of training but there was a natural talent that few could achieve.
:-[T.A.B]-:
Gerold Hightower was at the prow of the ship, looking at the horizon. There was nothing to see since the clouds in the sky so effectively block any king of lights. He had been sent here by his King months ago to supervise the Crownlands army and then the fleet itself.
While he didn't want to be so far from King's Landing and his king, he did what was ask of him without question.
Gerold receive a raven from his colleague from the Kingsguard hours earlier, asking him to prepare small transport boat for a small incursion in Dun Fort's harbor. Apparently, a small group of three men went inside the castle to save Prince Rhaegar. A bold move by Barristan and Arthur. He knew the man was without fear but to enter Duskendale was more than a risky move.
As soon as he read the letter, Gerold started gathering some of the best men he knew. Of course he didn't have access to the best warriors in the Crownlands, these soldiers were with the king.
Gathered inside rowing boats, the Lord Commander and his men waited for the signal. After a couple of hours, he saw a small light in the distance going in the sky.
"That's the signal men, row! Row!" exclaimed the knight.
In a mighty push, the rowers started their job in unison, grunting under the intense effort to move a rowing boat full of armored knights. After a few moments, they managed to get going with the help of the water's current.
It took them around a dozen of minutes or so to reach the shore. By then, the violent sound of battle was heard by all.
"Get ready men! Sound the horn! Let us save our Prince!" said Gerold Hightower a he was the first one to put a foot on Duskendale's dock.
