Studying sucked.

Naruto went to school until he was 12 years old, and by this world's standards he got an extremely, extremely, basic education. While the stuff he was studying could be called child's play to people like Sakura, it was hard for him to wrap his head around it.

Math, Science, Japanese and English, Culture, History, Health, Geography, Civics, and Home economics were all stuff he had half a year to get up to high school level before he was shipped off to high school and expected to excel. Jiraiya had made sure to stock him up with first year high school level subjects, and everything below that level. His room in the inn was filled with books.

Also clones.

His clones were helping him study by working together with him. He would try and figure out a problem, and then the clone would tell him if he was right or wrong. Clones were a helpful study tool.

"He... hello Naruto... I brought you a snack."

"Oh, thanks." Naruto didn't say much. He was mentally drained from studying, but still forcing himself to keep going. Naruto signalled for all of the clones in the room to pop themselves. He blinked a few times and rubbed the side of his head in annoyance. "... ow..." Naruto suddenly felt like stuff got crammed in his head. With the clones not in the room though, Mizore was able to make her way to the middle of the room and offer him a plate filled with cookies.

"Mother made them."

"Your mom makes good cookies... aren't you going to school too?" Naruto asked as he looked at Mizore. He rarely ever talked to her, but with how much she followed him around, she wasn't a stranger. He knew that she was 14, and she would turn 15 in December. He was 14 at the moment, and would turn 15 in October. They were overall the same school age, and she was going to be applying to high school too. "Yokai Academy?" Naruto asked her.

She nodded her head.

"... I look forward to going to school with you... I'm not good at studying though." Mizore rubbed her arm nervously. Naruto snacked on a few cookies as he looked at her.

Right, he had been in this village for well over a year now, and Mizore had changed a lot in a short amount of time. When he came to this village, he had been 12, just about to turn 13, and now he was 14, almost 15. Mizore had been about his age, and grown from a rather skinny girl, into something of budding bombshell. She certainly filled out her yukata, and her hair had grown a lot longer from the shorter hair she had a year ago.

It was an unkept mess, but still cute.

She used to be taller than him, but now he was taller than her after his growth spurt started to come in, and she no longer fell asleep when he trained at night. She was able to stay awake the entire night watching him train, and then go home on her own. She had a colder intensity to her gaze, with a little more warmth to it than the rest of her species.

"I'll... just leave you to studying then." Mizore started to make her way out.

...

"You know Mizore, you're kind of a dark and gloomy weirdo... you remind me of somebody from where I'm from..." Naruto saw her shoulders drop, and her aura change to gloomier. She looked back at him. "I'm not insulting you, I like people like you. Why don't you stay and study with me?" Naruto crossed his fingers and summoned more clones. He made a clone to help him study with each subject.

Mizore smiled.

"You like... weirdos." Mizore sat across from him and picked up a book.

"You remind me of a friend who helped me out when I lost confidence in myself." Naruto remembered Hinata, and her words she spoke to him right before he fought her cousin in the Chunin exams. He smiled fondly when he remembered her, and Mizore gave off the same quiet vibes in a way. "She was a total failure, just like me. So, what do you want to study first?" Naruto asked.

"Reproduction."

"So, Health studies, gotcha. We can study that first, I'm struggling with science, so when we're done with health studies, lets do science next." Naruto completely missed the sexual tone that Mizore used when she spoke. It flew right over his head, though he did get the feeling that the air in the room got a bit cooler.

-The 3 Weeks Later-

'Hmmmmm... I guess Shadow Clone studying is way more effective than I thought.' Naruto was breezing his way through the mock tests that Jiraiya had made up for him. It was like every day he studied with his shadow clones, the knowledge in his head grew. It was almost like he had read through the books multiple times, and the knowledge in those books were being copied and pasted right into his brain.

He had scored high points on most of the exams that Jiraiya was giving to him.

"Well, I didn't expect it, but the idiot brat might not be such an idiot." Jiraiya whistled as he graded another of the mock tests. He would put Naruto's knowledge on each subject at a decently high score, and he was just under the required level to attend and pass the exams for most high schools. In just under a month of studying, he was getting high scores that almost didn't make sense. "Hey, little snow fairy, you been helping this idiot study?" Jiraiya looked at Mizore hiding behind the doorframe and spying on them.

"No, his shadow clone things help him study, they ask him questions and he tries to figure them out."

"Aaaaaaah... that explains it." Jiraiya could tell that Naruto was unknowingly using the shadow clone training method to study, by having the clones read and retain the information and then send it back to him when they popped. Information that was gathered via shadow clone jutsu left a stronger impression on the brain than usual information, so if Naruto was making the clones read before they tested him on the knowledge, then Naruto didn't just study for 3 weeks, he studied for closer to half a year or more in scale.

"What explains it? That I'm awesome." Naruto questioned.

"... You'll figure it out on your own eventually." Jiraiya rolled his eyes, and saw Naruto's jaw drop at the utter lack of explanation he got. "Okay then, here is the deal... I'm going to keep track of your grades, and I'm expecting you to remain a student in the Top 5... actually, no, I'm expecting you to maintain a position as the Number 1 student in your grades once you go to Yokai Academy." Jiraiya stated.

Naruto's jaw dropped further.

"Oh come! You know I'm stupid, you can't expect me to compete with smart people in boring, book nerd stuff!" Naruto shouted, pure, and sheer disbelief at how much Jiraiya was expecting from him. Jiraiya didn't care and waved off his annoyance.

"Well, I guess that just means you aren't going to surpass the 4th Hokage, or any of the Hokage for that matter." Jiraiya mocked.

Naruto sat back down.

"Fine."

"Good... now, onto a different matter. Keep up your training, because I'm going off to work on setting something up. I'm going to be gone for awhile... but to keep you on your toes, I think I'll hire an assassin to try and kill you... in say... lets just say once you get to school, keep your guard up." Jiraiya stated.

After researching this world for a year, Jiraiya had concluded that there was little chance that most monsters would be able to compete with Naruto in a fair fight. With how fast and strong Naruto was, he was pretty much a super monster by these standards. It would be safe for him to hire an assassin or two to send after Naruto and test him out, just to see how he would react to a surprise attack.

"Sounds stupid." Naruto deadpanned.

"That is why I'm warning you now. Don't worry though, I'm sure you can handle them just fine. But hey, I might NOT hire an assassin. So, just keep on guard, because you never know what I'll do." Jiraiya could see Naruto roll his eyes. "Oh, you don't believe me?" Jiraiya asked with a grin.

Naruto stared him down.

"Do I believe the teacher who pushed me off a cliff would hire an assassin to test me... what do you think?" Naruto didn't put it past Jiraiya at all to put his life in danger to teach him a lesson. Jiraiya grinned at being reminded.

"You learned how to summon properly though."

"You pushed me off a cliff."

"Technically, it was a ravine."

Naruto kicked Jiraiya in the shin.

"Technically, I can and will grow strong enough to throw you off a cliff." Naruto promised Jiraiya, with a dead seriousness to his tone.

They shared a laugh at that.

Please Leave Me Lots of Nice Long Reviews, But No Flames Please!

I am going to address this once.

Naruto not realizing the babies are his kids isn't because he is just being dumb, it's because he is being TRUSTING.

Naruto can be the smartest character in the room, and Naruto can also be the dumbest character in the room. That is part of what makes him so unpredictable to people. If you assume he is dumb, he will do something smart, and if you assume he's smart, he will shock you at how dumb he is.

Naruto wouldn't even be mad if he did learn the truth, because the Yuki-onna village has been nothing but kind, loving, and appreciative of him since the moment he arrived in their village. Just like Naruto can see through Sai's fake smile, and how his home village looks at him with eyes of hate, Naruto can see all of the yuki-onna have looked at him with genuine smiles, and eyes filled with affection.

Naruto may be upset they weren't honest, but he wouldn't HATE them.
