Ava sat on the ice blue couch that resided in both her and her husband's living quarters on the Finalizer. She looked down to see Millicent curled up into a ball sleeping next to her as she gently stroked her orange fur. Her thoughts then drifted to her cousin who had now become a merciless murderer, working under a cruel regime that claimed to bring order to the galaxy but in reality the First Order done nothing but bring misery, chaos and death to all.

"Why did he have to turn…?" She thought as she took a ragged, deep breath.

"I could've helped him….we all could've,"

She got up from the couch and walked toward the bedroom where she kneeled down the bed, pulling out a large rectangular wooden box. She delicately lifted the lid to reveal her lightsaber, picking it up by the helm. She smiled, feeling grateful that her cousin allowed her to keep the lightsaber that she had been working for nearly three years since she and her family went into hiding.

"Thank you Ben," She whispered hugging the helm close to her chest.

"Maybe there is good in you,"

Meanwhile on the planet, Jakku

Ronan sat in the corner of the village elder's tent, looking down at the journal that lay open across his lap as he continued to write.

"It's been three days since me and Ace Pilot Poe set off on a mission assigned to General or Aunt Organa. I don't know what to call her to be honest but I've been taught that you should always give respect to superiors, even if they are your family members. And above all don't respect any kind of special treatment.

Anyway, we're now here in Jakku because a friend of General or Aunt Leia, Lor San Tekka has the map to my dad, Luke Skywalker. It's been so long since we last seen him and he ordered us to go into hiding."

Ronan sighed deeply as he continued to write in his journal, unaware that a pair of footsteps started making their way towards him.

"Recording events young Skywalker?" A raspy, kind voice spoke, making the Skywalker heir look up to see Lor San Tekka, the village elder looking at him with a kind smile.

"Yes sir," Ronan replied, returning the smile.

"The kid's gotta make some personal data," Poe said, causing BB 8 to chirp in agreement before rolling away toward the entrance to the hut.

Ronan watched the spherical droid disappear from his sight, letting out a soft sigh before closing the journal in his hand and placing it in his pocket. He walked over to the ace pilot who sat in one of the stools while the village elder pulled out a wooden rectangular box from underneath a table. He slowly placed the box on the ground, lifting the lid up and taking out a small item. Ronan walked over to get a better look wanting to know if the item they have been send to retrieve is the key to finding his father.

"This will begin to make things right," Lor San Tekka, said holding up the map to Luke Skywalker and handing it to Poe.

"I've traveled too far and seen too much during all the despair in the galaxy. With only a small amount of jedi left there can be no balance in the force,"

"Well because of you now we have a chance," Poe said, smiling while holding up the small artifact.

"The general's been after this for a long time,"

"The general…to me she is royalty," Lor San Tekka said smiling, causing Ronan to nod his head in agreement.

"She certainly is,"

Suddenly, BB-8 bursted through the doorway, beeping panicky making everyone look at him with concern.

"What is it BB-8?" Ronan asked kneeling to the droid's level as the spherical droid to beep in alarm, causing both of their faces to pale in horror.

"We got company," Poe said, before they sprinted out of the hut with the villager's cries of distress and alarm greeted them.

Poe took out his binoculars, placing them over his eyes while Ronan stood still as if he were an animal caught in the headlights of a vehicle. He knew from the force that the First Order is coming not only for the map but for him.

"You have to hide," He heard Poe instructed Tekka, as his heart began to beat rapidly against his chest.

"The both of you need to leave…now," The village elder ordered as everyone slowly stood up from where they sat.

"Wait what about you," Ronan asked with concern.

"Do not worry about me young Skywalker," Tekka assured him placing a hand on the young boy's shoulders.

"Do what you can to keep out of the First Order's reach and find your father,"

Ronan gulped, feeling reluctant that he had to leave behind a man so kind enough to give him the map to finding his father. He wanted to stay and help the elderly man but he knew he had no choice.

"Thank you," Ronan said, hugging the elderly man who returned the gesture.

"Come on kid we have to go," Poe cried, grabbing him by the arm and dragging him away.

"We have to help him!" Ronan yelled as he turned to go back but Poe grabbed his arm to stop him.

"We can't!" Poe protested, pulling him along as they kept running to their x wing fighters that lay outside of the village.

"Both you and the map to your father are important right now!"

Ronan wanted to protest but knew that arguing is useless during their crucial time when they started to board their x wings. However, before they could take off, a Stormtrooper spotted them, pointing towards them while leading the other troopers to their location. They immediately started to fire on the x wings, mainly hitting the engines.

"Shit!" Ronan cursed as his screens started to turn red while beeping loudly.

"My engines been taken out,"

He then leapt out of the pilot seat, throwing his helmet off and ran over to Poe whose engine has also been blasted.

"Mine too," Poe said, as he examined the damage made toward his engine before turning to Ronan.

"Ronan, I need you and BB-8 to listen carefully,"

Ronan nodded his head nervously as BB-8 rolled next to him and Poe took out the small item, handing it to BB-8.

"The both of you take this and get away as far as you can,"

"Wait what about you," Ronan asked with concern.

"Don't worry about me," Poe replied, smiling assuringly at them before standing up.

"I'll be alright,"

Poe then ran towards the village leaving the young Skywalker heir along with the spherical droid. Ronan sighed quietly before looking down at the droid who in turn looked at him.

"Looks like we have no choice," Ronan said, before taking one last glance at the village behind him.

"We run,"

The both of them took off into the darkness of the night with the villager's screams echoing in the boy's mind.

Kylo Ren Pov

Kylo Ren stepped off the ship, with two troopers tailing behind as he looked over to the surviving villagers being rounded up and a variety of houses in flames. He sensed the young Skywalker's presence in this village as he walked toward the village elder who is shoved by two other troopers.

"Look how old you've become," Kylo Ren said.

"Something far worse has happened to you," Lor San Tekka replied, his gaze never leaving the masked man's sight.

"You know what I've come for," Kylo Ren replied, as he narrowed his eyes darkly behind his mask.

"I know where you've come from…before you called yourself Kylo Ren," The village elder shot back, calmly.

"The map to Skywalker….and the boy…we know you found it and we know you have the boy….and now you will hand them over to the First Order," Kylo Ren said, circling him around like a vulture waiting to snatch its prey.

"The First Order came from the dark side…you did not," Lor San Tekka replied, his wrinkled face still calm.

"I'll show you're the dark side…" Kylo Ren growled in anger.

"You may try," Lor San Tekka replied, as he smiled a small smile while remaining calm.

"But you cannot deny the truth that is your family,"

"You are so right," Kylo Ren replied, before he activated his red lightsaber and struck down the village leader, causing the crowd to cry out in horror.

Then, Poe who had been nearby fired his blaster at him but the masked man sensing his presence turned around, holding his hand up, and freezing both him and the blaster. The ace pilot struggled to break free but it was no use as two storm troopers ran over to him, punching him in the stomach, knocking him to the ground. He grunted in pain as they roughly lifted him up by his arms and dragged him over to Kylo Ren, while kicking him down to his knees. The masked man then kneeled to his eye level causing the ace pilot to glare at him.

"So who talks first you talk first," Poe asked in a rather joking manner, despite his condition.

"The old man gave it to you….and the boy has been with you," Kylo Ren replied, his gaze never leaving the pilot's sight.

"It's kind of hard to understand," Poe retorted, before Kylo Ren stood up.

"Search him," Kylo Ren ordered, as two troopers roughly lifted him up from the ground once more, searching his pockets but could only find nothing.

"Put him on board,"

The Stormtroopers led him away as Captain Phasma walked up to him with her blaster in her hand and her dark cape flowing behind her.

"Sir the villagers?" She asked, causing Kylo Ren to look at the surviving villagers.

"Kill them all," He answered darkly, causing all of the troopers to point their blasters at the villagers who screamed with fright and horror.

"On my command," Phasma said, as she looked at the villagers with a cold, intense glared behind her helmet.

"Fire,"

Without hesitation, the troopers immediately started firing on the villagers, drowining out their anguished screams one by one until there was complete silent around them except for the crackling flames, burning from the roofs of the villages. He briefly glanced over to one of the Storm Troopers who had a bloody handprint on his white helmet, FN-2187 who stood still, unable to move. He turned away but not before releasing the blaster shot from his grasp, allowing it to shoot at one of the huts, startling some of the troopers in the process.

"Fire," He heard one of the Stormtroopers yell as he turned to see two empty x wing fighters parked outside of the now silent village being fired multiple shots until they exploded into flaming metals of scrap.

Kylo looked over towards the direction of where the young Skywalker heir had ran off to, while clenching his fists in anger, silently cursing himself for letting the boy slip through his fingers.

"Sir…the boy escaped," One of the Stormtroopers asked.

"Should we go after him?"

"Let him go," Kylo Ren replied as he stepped into his ship.

"He should be considered to be lucky this time but next time when we find him, he won't be getting away,"
