I DON'T OWN ANYTHING

Touko' s pov

I woke up at my usual time when I get up for school. Whatever events that happened yesterday after I was taken by that man was something that I don't know but the first thing I saw was the ceiling of my room. I got up from my bed and started doing the chores that I always do.

While eating my breakfast I got a message from touya to meet him in principal's office before going to lectures, I sent a ' okay ' and quickly ate my breakfast to reach before lectures. I reached and knocked the door, I am still feeling the pain in my body. Touya opened the door, " come in, " he was looking worried, I looked at grandfather. He was covering his mouth by intervening his fingers and his eyes were closed.

He looked deep in thoughts. " Why did you called me ?" he finally looked at me and then looked at touya, " touko..., sit " he said, I sat in front of grandfather along with touya. I turned to touya, " touya... what happened ?" he didn't said anything but grandfather started speaking, "Touko, I do remember telling your brother and father to stop you from meeting and talking with cheren, have they not stopped you ?" no, I do remember dad and touya telling me to not meet him and I even tried to, " yes, they did and I even tried to follow whatever they said, " I said, he looked away and again towards me.

" Then why did you met him the night before yesterday ?" I looked down, at the table, and said, " I wanted to give a protection gem to him, because if I am not near him, I am scared something will happen to him, " I explained. "So ? do you think that helped him ?" I shook my head, " but it healed him, " I started "yesterday when that man threw -" " and whose fault do you think was there, " he interrupted my explanation and asked. " What do you... mean ?" " heh, I mean what I said, it was your fault that he got involved in yesterday's events, it was your fault his friend died and it will be YOUR fault HE will die, " he raised his voice and yelled, even got up from his seat, towering us.

" But cheren -" " cheren, cheren , cheren, can't you see he is being just nice to you and formal to you, and you are using his kind behaviour for granted !" he said aggressively, " using ?" " yes, using, you want something that is not at all made for you, you want friends and all but that is impossible for you, you are a powerful mage's daughter, the heiress who is born with a rare conditions because of which everyone targets you, " he didn't stopped, " it isn't anyone putting him in harm, it is you who is putting him in harm !" I felt the knot in my throat, 'enough ' grandfather never yelled at me like this before.

I got up and was about to go but touya stopped me, I looked at him in bewildered, "touko, listen to what he is saying, " his voice was low, like something was stuck in his throat. " Correct ! you can run now but not forever ! you know the consequences if people found out his true identity !" I looked at him in shock, ' how does he know. '

" I do know who he is and even his parents, but I can't tell this to anyone, " he looked away, " luca had almost got him yesterday, it is thanks to me that I interrupted him by asking for evidence, but I won't be there for forever " he said, " you can leave now, but don't forget the normal life that you want to live is virtually impossible, if you tried to make it true then we will be obliged to keep you inside the mansion, now leave, " I picked up my bag and ran out of the room and building, tears started coming from my eyes.

I went inside the building, where our lectures take place. ' Even touya didn't stopped him from saying all those stuff, ' " well, well, why are you crying ? You missed me ?" ' why is he here!?' I turned around and saw luca, smirking and coming towards me. " Luca,... no, it isn't like that or anything, " I replied trying to turn around and run but he grabbed my face and turned it to look at him, eyes to eyes.

" Oh, I thought, since I haven't talked to you recently, you thought I am not interested in you at all, " I could feel his nails digging on my cheeks, like he will tear them apart if I displeased him, " or, did you really enjoyed your peaceful days, " he smirked again but before he could say anything further, the bell for the first lecture rang. He turned to me and said, " lucky, I guess, " he let me go and went to his class.

The amount of malice surrounding him was extremely high. I felt nauseous and ran towards restroom. I washed my face and looked myself in the mirror, after confirming that I look like my usual self, I left the restroom.

I reached to class and as soon as cheren saw me, he waved, ' it will be YOUR fault HE will die !' ' no, I need to control myself, ' I just nodded, so that he will not feel hurt. He looked a little shocked, but didn't said anything. He gave me side glance from time to time but I resisted the urge to talk with him. During lunch break, several students who are mages came to me and started talking, " miss touko, " a girl with light brown hair called, " are you free on saturday ?" " yes, why ?" " uhh...um,well, will, will you like to spend time with us, " they all looked nervous while talking to me. Well it is expected like that way.

I opened my mouth slightly to answer them but suddenly cheren got up, grabbed my hand and dragged me with him. I looked around, everyone was shocked, even lyra and ethan. "Come with me, " he said in a low voice like he was angry. But there was still not even a bit of malice or anything.

We arrived at the backside of the building, and because of large number of students busy talking with each other, nobody noticed him dragging me here. He finally let go of my hand and turned to me. " You are acting a bit weird, " he said, " weird ? what do you mean ?" " you know what I mean, " he continued, " you looked like you are trying to ignore me but you weren't able to..." he looked in my eyes, like searching for answers.

I looked away, " wh- why, do you care ? I am just trying to -" ' trying to do what ?' I myself don't know what I am running away from, I don't know why I can't protect him. I am in the situation where I have to stay away from him because someone else told me but I myself don't want to. This is the first time I felt this much conflicted. " I do care because you look troubled, " he said, " you... you are constantly in some kind of danger, and because of tha-" "exactly ! I am constantly in danger but because of you being involved with me, even you and your friends get involved in that, " I closed my eyes.

' Face your responsibilities touko ! you have to' I opened my eyes and looked at him, he looked shocked but managed to talk, " just because of that ?" " not just that it was because of me, bianca died, didn't she ?" he shook his head, "I forgave that day, did you forgot that ?" he grabbed my shoulders which usually brings just bad memories to me. " Touko, I believe you need to talk and understand your feelings more, " he said, I touched his arms and he freed me from his grasp.

I looked at him and ran away, he didn't tried to stop but said one thing, " I will wait for you to talk with me like before...!" I didn't turned around or stopped, ' I know I am being rude to you, after you showed me this much kindness... but it is always kind people who gets killed first... I am sorry, cheren, this is... to protect you. '
