It was the afternoon, chilly weather blew through the town as the grass was now tinted yellow. The year had just started, and Antonia decided to have some of her friends over to celebrate. Donna was the first to wake up, asshe went to the kitchen to help the housekeepers clean the mess that they had left. The teens entertained themselves with classic board games and card games to pass time for the ball to drop. A tiny metal shoe was left on the ground, Donna reached to grab it. "Morning!" Wally walked over to the trash can, throwing away empty soda cans. "Good morning," she opened a slender box to return the item where it belonged. The teens slowly dropped in one by one then greeted Antonia's parents when they woke up. "Dude, Toni is a heavy sleeper." Jiya walked by with a glass of orange juice, sitting next to her boyfriend at the kitchen island. The girl's father laughed, "Oh, that's just our Toni. Amore says she needs her beauty sleep." He then walked out of the kitchen, the teens were enjoying their stay seeing that the family's personal chef began cutting fruit.

Antonia then woke up to see that everyone had left except Nicole. The girl tapped her shoulder but there was no movement. She figured she needed sleep and left her in bed. She ran her fingers down her hair as she headed down the hallway hearing laughter. Cute pancake animals were served to the teenagers, and they decorated the little faces with whipped cream and sprinkles. They all talked about their New Year resolutions and what they had accomplished from year that just ended. Wally then shouted with his mouth full of bacon, "I have no resolutions. I'm perfect just the way I am!" Jiya scoffed, "Don't be ridiculous. You have a million things to work on." The teens snickered as she owned her boyfriend. Antonia widened her eyes as she walked in the sassy moment. Wally grabbed his girlfriend and kissed her sloppily in front of them. "GET OFF ME!" Donna looked at her friends laughing, she then asked the goth, "Hey where's Nicole?" "Dead asleep. I know she needs it, so I left her there." Antonia's mother raised her eyebrows hearing this, she whispered to one of the maids and she left in an instant. "I can bring her plate later," Joseph signed to Donna and Antonia as they continued eating their breakfast. She looked at her phone that was left on the counter and grabbed it. She then saw the messages from the night before and continued her conversation with Samuel.

Samuel: Happy New Year :)

Antonia: Happy New Year to you too! :)

Antonia: I hope you had a great celebration

Samuel: I did. My friends decided to host a celebration. I left early tho because I wanted to be with my mom when it was midnight

Antonia: I think it's cute you made time for ur mom :)

Samuel: What are you doing Saturday?

Samuel: lets meet up

Antonia: I have a community service event

Antonia: but I can do anything past 4pm

Antonia: Is this like a date

Antonia: ?

Samuel: if you want it to be?

Samuel: ;)

The girl quickly turned her phone over to prevent anyone else from seeing their messages. After a few seconds, she responded.

Antonia: Okay then I guess it can be like a informal date

Antonia: :)

For the rest of the afternoon, the teens binged crime shows in the theater of Antonia's house. They stayed in their pajamas until they went back home one by one.

"You saw them on a date together? Gosh, what is up with her?" Karen currently was interrogating one of Mal's friends who had spotted a certain goth in public. He was eating with his friends when he noticed the girl and was asking the three what they knew. "She's… she's dating that total scumbag? Like seriously! I'm so much better than him and she picked him. HIM. Samuel fucking Alexander out of all people!" Isaiah was pacing back and forth panting in the driveway. Mal looked at him and sighed, "Man, you had several chances, and you took them for granted. I don't want to hear it." "Are you fucking kidding me? I asked her out, but Victor and the other idiots didn't get the hint. Like how is that my fault? Don't act like I'm the one with no brain!" He shouted at the boy, and he raised his eyebrows. Mal smacked his lips looking at his girlfriend. Karen flared her nose, "Don't talk to us like that! Go home if you're going to act a fool. I don't wanna see your shit attitude already on the first day of the year!" Isaiah got close to the other boy, "What else did you see? Did they kiss? Did they leave together? Oh my GOD. I am going to kick his ass if he touched her." "HEY," Karen yelled at Isaiah in disbelief at what he was saying, "Antonia is still our friend. This is just something we'll have to deal with. I'm sure it's not even going to last long. So, stop complaining and suck it up. Be a man!" Mal's poor friend was mortified by Isaiah's words and even more by his actions. Mal got close to Isaiah putting his hands on his shoulders. "You need to chill out. Nothing crazy is going to happen. Don't even think about it. As a matter of fact, we know Toni cuts off guys who creep her out. If he's being nasty with her, we'll know." His expression softened and he looked down at the concrete, "I just don't want anything bad to happen to her. We know what he's capable of. It's like you guys are forgetting how he talked to us in class." Karen walked over to the two, "Isaiah there is no way in hell we will forget stuff like that. Like Mal said, she'll tell us if something bad happens. Have some patience, Okay?" After a few deep breaths, Isaiah finally felt calm. Mal's friend then put his hand in the pockets of his jacket, displaying an awkward smile as the three were whispering to each other. "Not to be rude and interrupt, but I came here for food. Good food. Malcom? You gunna hook me up or not?"

"Thanks for the ride, Joey." Nicole sat down in the Jeep putting her plush in her lap. Joseph was her ride to return back to his place for the next two days. He connected his phone to the cord and played music. From the corner of his eye, Nicole was looking out the window playing with her hair, braiding the strands and undoing them to keep herself occupied. The song began playing softly, leaning in, he turned the knob for the volume to increase. The bass gently vibrated the seats making the girl giggle.

Nicole mouthed the words oblivious to the fact that the boy selected that song for a reason.

Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight ~

There moves a thread that has no end ~

"All of my love… All of my love… All of my love… to you." The girls eye's started to widen as she began realizing what the song was saying. She glanced at him and Joesph was fighting himself to keep his composure. The next verse continued, and the girl began to pretend being curious, "Ya know… I've always really liked this song. It's one of your favorites, right?" He peeked at her quickly, smiling.

Is this the end or just begin? ~

The chorus filled the air making the girl shaky. It was clear to her now that it was his confession. They then reached the beginning of the neighborhood as the green circles changed to yellow. The Jeep came to a slow stop and Nicole looked over to him. He reached over the center console, placing his hand in hers. Her eyebrows knit together, and her ears began to feel warm. The red glow of the stoplight engulfed the car, causing the two to feel very emotional. No words were spoken by the song or the girl, it was a moment to take in. Joseph trailed his hand past her shoulder cupping her soft face. She leaned in slowly, planting a warm kiss on his lips.

I thought it would be really nice to use music as Joseph's way of admitting his feelings to Nicole. I hear this song by Led Zeppelin EVERYWHERE and I never get enough. Well come to find out, it's about the lead singer's son passing away! I was researching the song and when I discovered this I was sitting on the floor of my room all depressed. T_T Anyway, it does make sense as Kole dies in the original stories of DC comics. I think it's quite fitting in this situation. If she suddenly disappears later in the book don't be surprised MUAHAAHAH. Jk. Thank y'all for all the support! :D
