I stare thoughtlessly into the rain, watching as the white coats and erasers remove and examine the charred bits of the crash. I wondered if parts of it were supposed to be us. I glanced back, everyone sat silently in the van, watching. I shift, turning to face them. We were dirty and exhausted. My body aches seemed to come from my bones outward. I lean against the the other broken door. Suddenly, the cautious, quiet step of someone sneaking around came close to the door. I sat up just in time to see the face the the dark haired boy, scraped up from the crash. He scanned all of our faces silently, his piercing blue eyes like ice.
"We should move." He stated in a rough whisper. He was holding his hand over his arm, where he was shot. Dried blood was caked into his arm. I winced.
I slowly moved out of the doorway and into the dirt, now mud, and waited for everyone else. Once everyone was out, we tallied our misfortunes.

The pain in my leg was no longer numbed by adrenaline. It felt as if my leg had been torn apart. Every little movement felt like torture. I tried to focus on breathing, in and out, in and out. I glanced at Annabeth, she looked exhausted and concerned and worried to the max. I glanced at the pale light coming in though the doors. There was a figure standing in the doorway, helping everyone out.
"C'mon." he said waving Annabeth over. She reached for me. He climbed in to help her carry me out of the van. I wanted to scream in pain as they lifted me out but I held it in. I had no idea what was going to happen if I screamed out in pain. If those wolf things would come for us.
They set me down carefully on the damp dirt. Soft rain pelted my face.
I glanced around, all of us looked beat to hell, exhausted, hungry. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

"We should be dead." I said in a loud whisper.
I cast a glare at the boy. He met my eyes and said "Did you want to be?"
" What's that supposed to mean?" venom hanging on my words. I took a step forward.
"I could have let you die. All of you." He looked around.
At that moment Max stepped forward. Stepping in front of the boy.
"Yeah thanks for that but can you explain the little show you had going on? That little foe crash over yonder? The hells that all about?" she pointed and in the distance was a wreck, a bad one.
Everyone looked at him in surprise.
"It's- it's a gift." he said, he held is head high but kept his eyes on the ground.
The rain started to come down harder now, going for a drizzle to a hard rain.
I scoffed, " A gift?" I took a couple steps toward him. Max stopped me.
"I've seen gifts like this before." The blonde said. She walked up to him and glanced around.
"We have a lot to discuss."
