Author's Note: Hello! This chapter's a bit shorter. I'll post the next chapter later this week that'll be bit longer. Also, I'm l trying to be consistent with referring to characters as their alias when they are dressed as such for visualization purposes, with the obvious exception of Raven and Tara. Enjoy!

It was probably a best-case scenario. The list of villains who each Titan feared might step out from the ruined bank door was long, and Doctor Light wasn't even on it. Even Raven, who now stood wide-eyed and breathless, hadn't had him on her list of feared enemies. Ever since the Justice League had Doctor Light lobotomized via Zatanna's magic, he didn't have the mental capacity to be a real threat.

The Titans had faced Doctor Light once before, and it hadn't been much of a fight. In fact, Raven had single-handedly taken him down. It was one of those rare times Raven struggled with keeping her father's influence at bay, and Doctor Light was unlucky enough to be caught on her bad side. When Raven's soul-self separated from her body and engulfed Doctor Light, his mind was laid bare to her, in all its broken madness, and Raven was left reeling. It was the only time the Titans feared that Raven might not be able to contain Trigon.

It took a while for Raven to not feel ashamed to be seen again by her teammates. Even longer for her to not be haunted by what she saw in that man's mind. Damian had stood by her, checked on her, and gave her space when she needed it. He made her not feel ashamed and alone. Now, as they stood side by side about to face this foe again, she felt shame creep up as she felt Robin tense up next to her, with his thoughts and anxieties bent towards her. Not just him, she realized. All her teammates that had been with her that day had strong emotions aimed straight at her. But she had to stay focused. Had to block out the emotions around her.

The team jumping into action was enough to shake Raven from her thoughts. Starfire called an attack formation, thank God, and Raven was able to thoughtlessly go through the motions until Doctor Light was down. And the thoughts in Raven's head were allowed to resume.

As soon as the police officers began to approach to take over the scene from them, Raven conjured a portal for herself and took off on her own back to the tower. She needed a good long meditation session, and she didn't want to wait. Robin stared at the empty space she once occupied and contemplated.

Because of the nature of Trigon's defeat, there were two eventualities Damian felt he needed to prepare for. Raven had fused the shard containing her father with her physical form, specifically choosing the location of her third eye chakra so that she could constantly see him with her mind's eye. It made for a two-way street, as Raven had explained to Damian, her father always had a way out via possession if her resolve were to weaken, and her father was now mortal. Whether she died, or he died while possessing her, he was tied to a mortal body and would die with her as long as they stayed fused. She was confident too, that her resolve would never weaken. So, to Damian, that meant there were two different factions that could target Raven; those that worshiped Trigon, and those that would be willing to kill Raven to prevent his return.

Trigon's imprisonment with Raven was a secret known to the Titans and to top members of the League, which was far too many in Damian's opinion. He felt it was only a matter of time until this secret made its way into the wrong hands. So, a surprise visit encounter from a low-tier villain like Doctor Light who should have lacked the resources to escape from the asylum he inhabited, let alone assemble a team to rob a bank, set off all manner of alarms in Damian's head.

Damian, who sat on the ground in the hallway outside of Raven's door halfheartedly trying to read a book, contemplated what kind of motive someone might have to send Doctor Light after them. A test of Raven's control perhaps? He seriously doubted Doctor Light had the ability to orchestrate even a minor heist like this on his own. He flipped a page that he didn't really read to the book that he hadn't really been paying attention to and continued to sit, think, and wait.

In the common room a couple floors away, Garfield, Jaime, Donna, Connor, and Tara sat around the dining table eating their celebratory pizza.

"It's pathetic," Conner started between bites of pizza.

"What is?" Garfield grumbled out through a full mouth.

Tara, sitting next to Garfield enjoying her own slice, gave him a side eye full of disgust.

Connor swallowed, suddenly self-conscious of his table etiquette, "Boy Wonder! Sitting outside Raven's door like some lovesick puppy. She's clearly not interested. And he clearly doesn't have the balls to even knock on her door."

"Oh, you do NOT want to touch that one, hermano."

"Yeah," Garfield took another bite, "we just stay out of it. Yu shoo too."

Donna joined Tara in making a slight look of disgust towards Garfield before turning towards Conner.

"He's not out there to get in her pants, you absolute buffoon. He's making sure she isn't disturbed while she meditates. It's actually really sweet."

"And how would you know?" Conner questioned.

"I asked," she glared hard at him, "didn't think of that one, did ya?"

"Well okay, so still pathetic. It's not like Raven can't stand up for herself."

"Trust us. Those two are…well we've known them a lot longer than you. If there's something going on between them, they've gotta figure it out themselves, and we're all better off staying out of it," Jaime added.

Tara stayed quiet and seemed uninterested as she consumed her share of food. As the newest member of the team, only having joined a not even a couple months ago, the team figured she didn't know enough about everyone to maintain an interest in interpersonal drama.

"And what if he's just bothering her?" Connor pressed.

"You said it yourself, dude. Raven can stand up for herself. AND she's probably the only person I've seen who can call Damian out on his bullshit without him getting all…murder-y," Garfield finally said without chewing.

"Who is Damian murdering?"

The table turned their heads to see Dick Grayson in full Nightwing gear and a slight smirk, stepping through the sliding doors to the common room. Jaime and Garfield were up quickly, with cheerful greetings for their former leader. Conner and Donna politely stood to greet him, though they were not on as familiar terms as their more experienced teammates. Tara stayed seated.

"So, who's this visit for?" Jaime asked knowingly. It was after one in the morning, after all.

"Well…" Nightwing turned in time to see Kori passing through the doors and smiled warmly at her.

"I have to catch the Bat Brat up on a case the two of us have been on. Where's he hiding these days?"

"Well…" the group started in unison, suddenly none of them wishing to take an interest.
