As the battle between Adrien and Davis progressed, Adrien struggled at first, but Davis was able to snap him back to normal. After that, the real battle began with Adrien making quite a comeback. Both trainers are now down to just two pokemon. This battle will be reaching it's end soon. Which one of these trainers will be the one who advances?

(Davis' voice): At Our Happiest
"With both trainers down to just two pokemon, the next decision Davis makes could be a crucial one."
"Are you ready, pal?" Davis asked.
"Always." Imperialdramon claimed. He walked out on the field and was now faced with Gallade.
"And Davis brings out the very rare Imperialdramon as his next pokemon. According to our records, Davis is the only trainer to have such a pokemon."
"I thought he would save Imperialdramon for last, but this is just fine with me." Adrien said. "Gallade, Imperialdramon is really strong! Power yourself up with Swords Dance!"
"Gallade!" Gallade formed the swords and had them danced around himself to become stronger.
"Go, Imperialdramon! Focus Punch!" Davis called.
"Gallade, Sacred Sword!" Adrien called. Both sides charged at each other with their attacks and they clashed into each other. They both tried to push the other back, but the colliding powers caused both of them to be knocked back.
"They're even?!" Terra said as she didn't think Gallade could match Imperialdramon's power.
"Swords Dance rose Gallade's power. If Gallade is able to match Imperialdramon's power, it won't be so easy for Davis to win this." Cletus said.
"Now use Psybeam!" Adrien called. Gallade fired the beam, but Imperialdramon crossed his arms and was able to block the attack. "We'll have to get in closer! Get in there and use Brick Break!" Gallade charged right at Imperialdramon and got ready to attack.
"Don't let Gallade get in close! Dragon Pulse!" Davis called. Imperialdramon unleashed a blast of his dragon energy, but Gallade jumped up and avoided the attack. After that, Gallade came down and smashed his arm against Imperialdramon. "Use Focus Punch!" Imperialdramon gathered power into his fist and smashed it right into Gallade. Gallade was knocked back and bounced against the ground, but was able to get back up.
"Both sides are going at each other with fierce strikes. Who will be the first to fall?"
"We need to end this quickly. Gallade, Swords Dance! Raise your power as high as you can!" Adrien called. Gallade performed the move once again and raised his power to its highest level.
"They must be planning to end this in one strike. The move that would allow them to do that is Sacred Sword." Davis figured. "In that case, we'll end this instead! Use Imperial Flight!"
"Sacred Sword!" Adrien called. Both pokemon got their attacks ready and charged straight at each other.
"Two power attacks are about to clash, and I've got a feeling this isn't going to end pretty for one side." Everyone watched with anticipation as to who would fall first. Just as Gallade attacked Imperialdramon, Imperialdramon avoided Gallade's attack with incredible speed. No one expecting that, Gallade stood there shocked while Imperialdrmaon flew back around and attacked Gallade with Gallade getting knocked into the air.
"Nice work! Now use Brick Break!" Davis called. Imperialdramon got over Gallade and smashed his arm against Gallade. He drove Gallade all the way back to the ground and smashed him right into it. When the dust cleared away, Gallade was knocked out.
"Gallade is unable to battle! Imperialdramon is the winner!"
"Gallade is out! That means Adrien is down to just one pokemon!"
"Adrien is down to just one pokemon now? That can't be." Nino said.
"It will be okay. Even if Adrien is down to just one pokemon, he's still going to battle as hard as he can. Just look at him." Marinette said. All of them looked at Adrien to see he was still smiling. Even though he is down to just one pokemon, he's still enjoying himself.
"You're just as great as I thought, Davis. I'm down to my last pokemon, but I'm still going to battle my best!" Adrien said. "Panthark, it's all up to you!" He called with him bringing out his last pokemon.
"Rargh!"
"Adrien's last pokemon and last chance is Panthark."
"I knew he was going to save Panthark for last." Davis said.
"No worries. A couple good hits with Focus Punch and Brick Break will end this." Imperialdramon claimed.
"Good idea, but watch out for his Cataclysm." Davis warned. "Now, let's wrap this battle up! Get in there and use Brick Break!" Imperialdramon flew right at Panthark and was about to attack.
"Dark Pulse!" Adrien called. Panthark let Imperialdramon get in close and blasted him with the dark blast that knocked him back. "Nice shot! Now attack with Iron Tail!" Panthark jumped at Imperialdramon and smashed his tail against Imperialdramon. "Keep up the attacks! Shadow Claw!" Panthark went for a third attack with it jumping at Imperialdramon with a shadowy claw.
"Dragon Pulse!" Davis called. Imperialdramon battled back and was able to blast Panthark with the attack and knocked it back. "Now use Focus Punch!" Imperialdramon tried attacking once again.
"Dark Pulse!" Adrien called. Panthark did a repeat of earlier and blasted Imperialdramon when he was close enough.
"Wait! I think I see what Adrien's strategy is!" Cletus said.
"His strategy?" Alya questioned.
"Yeah. Dark Pulse is a pretty powerful attack, but Panathark is a dark-type. Adrien knows fighting-type attacks like Focus Punch and Brick Break would be super effective against Panathark." Cletus explained. "That's why he's using Dark Pulse when Imperialdramon uses those attacks. When Imperialdramon gets close enough, Panthark blasts Imperialdramon with Dark Pulse. Not only does that cause some damage, but its an effective protective tactic."
"Now use Shadow Iron Tail!" Adrien called. Panthark jumped at Imperialdramon and smashed its tail against.
"Are you doing okay?" Davis asked.
"I think so..." Imperialdramon tried to remain strong, but he was taking too many hits from strong attacks. "This isn't good. I can't get in there with any fighting-type attacks."
"Let's finish this battle! Cataclysm!" Adrien called. Panthark gathered all the dark power it could for the finishing attack. Panthark charged right at Imperialdramon and jumped in for the attack.
"Focus Punch!" Davis called for one more attempt to attack. Imperialdramon gathered all the power he could and smashed his fist against Panthark. Imperialdramon tried to push Panthark back, but Panthark poured more power and smashed its claw against Imperialdramon and unleashed all the dark power it held. Imperialdramon felt like he was getting torn apart from that attack and couldn't withstand it. After the attack did what it did, Imperialdramon collapsed to the ground.
"Imperialdramon is unable to battle! Panthark is the winner!"
"Imperialdramon!" Davis called and rushed over to him.
"Panthark wins! Now, both trainers are down to their last pokemon! This is the last match, so we will have our winner soon enough."
"Only one pokemon left. I can't believe it's almost over. My heart won't stop beating like a drum." Marinette said.
"Imperialdramon made a good attempt to battle back, but Panthark had more power. If Panthark was able to withstand that, this won't be easy." Cletus said.
"I'm telling you there's nothing to worry about. Davis is going to pull something up his sleeve." Terra said.
"Yeah right. Winners win and losers lose. It's obvious who is who in this situation. He just got lucky and that's all there was to it." Chloe said. Regardless, this battle was going to come to an end soon. Davis helped Imperialdramon off the field and got himself back in the battle.
"That was a nice move, Adrien. You did pretty good, but I saved this pokemon for last because I knew it would love to face your Panthark." Davis claimed. "These two had a little something going, and it's time to settle it. Cheebolt, let's go!"
"Chee!"
"Davis' last pokemon is Cheebolt! We're about to have a real cat fight." The two pokemon were rather excited for this battle. They developed a bit of a rivalry when they battled each other the first time, and now they have a chance to settle it right here right now.
"Go, Cheebolt! Fury Swipes!" Davis called.
"Panthark, Shadow Claw!" Adrien called. Their two pokemon went at each other and used their claws to attack each other. They kept slashing away.
"Now use Flash Cannon!" Davis called. The two kept slashing away with their claws, but Cheebolt was able to create an opening and blasted Panthark with Flash Cannon. "Nice shot! Now use Fury Swipes again!" Cheebolt jumped at Panthark and kept slashing away at it.
"Dark Pulse!" Adrien called. Panthark pushed through Cheebolt's assault and did the same thing. Panthark blasted Cheebolt and was able to keep it back. "Now use Iron Tail!" Panthark went at Cheebolt and smashed its tail against Cheebolt.
"Use Bite!" Davis called. Cheebolt bit down right on Panthark's tail. Dark-type attacks might not be that effective against Panthark, but it was still painful on where Panthark was bit.
"They're trading blow after blow. It's like like they're not even trying to dodge." Terra said.
"Why would they do that?" Marinette said.
"It's a real battle." Cletus said with the two pokemon continuing to trade blows with each other. "Those two are going at each other with all they've got for a real clash of spirit and might. It's a feeling trainers and their pokemon get. It's like a testament of their resolve and strength. Neither side wants to back down or give the other any ground. It shows that they're evenly match and respect each other. When a battle gets like this, it all comes down to who blinks first." This battle is getting intense. No one dared looked away as the two pokemon kept striking each other. It was amazing to see, indescribable. However, there was something else Marinette could see as she looked right at Adrien.
"Unbelievable. An amazing battle is happening, but you're focus is still on Adrien." Alya teased.
"Only because of how happy he looks." Marinette said. When Marinette said that, Alya looked at Adrien and could see the biggest smile he's ever had.
"You're right! Look at him! He looks like he's truly feeling alive." Alya said. Gabriel watched every bit of the battle himself. He could see how happy Adrien was, and he can't remember the last time he saw Adrien this happy.
"Now use Flash Cannon!" Davis called. Cheebolt blasted Panthark once again and pushed it back. Both sides were feeling alive and they loved it.
'This is incredible! This feeling... The rush... The excitement... All of it's incredible!' Adrien thought as he never felt so exhilarated in all his life. 'I love every moment of this. I wish it didn't have to end, but it has to. As much as I wish it could keep going forever, I know it has to end at some point.' "Let's go for the big win, Panthark! Let's score our biggest win yet! Cataclysm!" Panthark poured all the remaining power it had into one more attack.
"We can meet that challenge!" Davis claimed. "Cheebolt, let's use Wild Charge!" Cheebolt did the same as Panthark. Cheebolt gathered all the power it could for one more grand attack. Both pokemon charged right at each other and poured all they could into this next attack. The two clashed right into each other and tried to overpower the other with their strongest attack. They both pushed as hard as they could with their trainers giving all the support they could. Burning with such passion for battle, the two sides pushed as hard as they could until an intense explosion went off. "Cheebolt!"
"Panthark!" Adrien called. Worried what happened to their pokemon, they both waited to see who was left standing. Cheebolt and Panthark were both still standing, but they exerted a lot of power. They tried to remain standing, but suffered too much damage. It was a mere standoff now until...Panthark was the one that dropped.
"Panthark is unable to battle! Cheebolt is the winner! Victory goes to Davis!"
"It's over! Davis defeated Adrien and will be advancing to the semifinals!"
"We did it, Cheebolt! We won!" Davis cheered with him holding out his arms and Cheebolt running into them.
"No way... Adrien really lost." Alya said.
"Ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous! There's no way Adrien could lose to such a nobody!" Chloe said. "I'm going to have my daddy have a word with whoever runs this place."
"I don't think there's any need when Adrien is quite satisfied with the results." Terra said. All of them looked at Adrien and he still seemed happy.
"Panthark, thank you for all your hard work. You were amazing out there, win or lose." Adrien claimed with him real proud of his pokemon and himself. He also continued to be amazed with Davis. Davis is an incredible trainer, and although Adrien's time in the tournament is over, he's glad he got to be here. On that note, what did his father really think of the battle and seeing his son the way he was. Now that the battle was over, Davis and Adrien had to clear off the field. Adrien was on his way, but soon crossed paths with his father. Worried about what his father might say, Adrien was scared and yet stood his ground so that he wouldn't need to apologize for what he did.
"The next time you compete, I'm hoping you will do better." Gabriel said.
"Next time?!" Adrien said. Does that mean Gabriel will allow Adrien to compete and go on his own journey? Adrien couldn't believe it. He no longer feels caged by his father anymore. This is the happiest Adrien has ever been in his life. Perhaps seeing Adrien at his happiest was just what Gabriel needed to see for him to finally let his son be who he wants to be.

Later
Another exciting day of the tournament came to an end with the four trainers making it to the semifinals. Now that the day was over, Davis could allow his pokemon to rest and eat.
"You all did great today. Better be ready because tomorrow is going to be another fierce battle." Davis said.
"That was an incredible battle, Davis. Just two more wins and you'll win the whole Grecko League. I'm so excited to see." Terra said.
"Easy, Terra. He still has to get those two wins first, and his next opponent will be a challenge." Cletus said.
"And now, we will announce the battles for the semifinals." Everyone looked to the screen to see who will be battling who. Leni will be in the first battle, but the second battle will have Davis against Jason.
"Jason?!" Davis said.
"Looks like it's finally time." All of them looked and saw Jason standing there with Sculice. They all knew this was going to happen at some point. These two have been at each other for a long time, but this could be their chance to settle things once and for all. This is one battle that shouldn't be missed.
The battle we've all been waiting for is almost upon us. Jason vs. Davis. After all the intense battles that have been going on, what can we expect when these two clash at the ultimate stage? Don't miss a moment of it. It's all happening next time.
