I don't own a thing but do enjoy the chapter
"I can get my bending back!" Korra shouted when she got back downstairs.
Mako and Bolin grew smiles. They were relieved that there was a way to get Korra her bending back. The three friends came together as they all did a group hug. Jun came downstairs to see them all hugging it with Korra coming back from her despair. Jun leaned against the doorframe as he watched on with a smile.
'Well at least she isn't a zombie anymore.' Jun thought.
"Hey, hey, how can you?" Bolin wanted to know.
The group hug ended as Korra explained it the best she could.
"My chi path is closed off. To increase one bending, you need to be spiritual. If I start becoming more spiritual, my chi will be strong enough to re-open my closed off Chi-paths." Korra stated.
"But how do you do that?" Mako asked.
"I gotta find a new reason to firebend. I don't know what it is but I think it has to be something very personal. Otherwise, it'll never work." Korra spoke.
"She has it but too much of a block head to see it." Jun called out.
Korra narrowed her eyes as she looked at Mako.
"He does this all the time?" Korra asked.
"A lot but in a endearing way." Bolin answered.
At least Korra knew it was done to everyone.
"Alright, I'm closing up shop. I've got Korra to train and I'd like to spend a considerable amount of time devoted to it." Jun stated.
"Wait...indefinitely?" Mako asked.
"But...but your tea!" Bolin cried.
"Don't worry, I'm gonna make you and your little brother tea and food. Whenever possible." Jun stated.
Bolin and Mako perked up at the statement.
"If your closing up shop to train me, maybe Tenzin will let you stay on Air Temple Island. It's the least I can do." Korra offered.
To Korra he would be losing his income and wouldn't be able to stay afloat if he had to close his shop down.
"No, I should be okay. I have a lot of money saved up. I appreciate the offer. Though meeting Tenzin wouldn't hurt." Jun replied.
"He has a lot of money saved up to retire for a year. He should be fine." Mako told Korra.
"The offer still stands. When does my training begin?"
"Right, now actually. Mako and Bolin you two can leave." Jun stated.
"Right away! Have fun Korra." Bolin sing song.
Mako shivered remembering how Jun teaches.
"Korra...if I see you tommorow...you might make it." Mako stated.
Mako and Bolin rushed for the exit while Jun reflected.
'Am I that scary when I teach?' He thought to himself.
When it was him and Korra alone within the shop. That's when Korra felt him become different.
"Alright, we'll focus on what you know, this will tell me what all I need to work on and if I have to start from scratch." Jun stated.
"Start from scratch?" Korra asked.
"Mhmmm, you can't use bending to defend yourself and you actually have to use hand to hand to get up close and personal." Jun stated.
Up close and personal. Like how she was with Amon all those nights ago, just like how she lost her bending. Korra eyes went wide as her pupils shrank. Jun took notice of Korra seemingly having a very negative reaction.
'Amon, no doubt about it.' Jun thought.
Jun snapped his fingers in her face a few times and Korra came back to reality. She stiffened seeing Jun looking at her with concern.
"Sorry, it's nothin-"
She felt her foot being stepped on by Jun's heel. Korra grabbed a hold of her foot. As she hopped in place as she dealt with the pain.
"You son of a bitch! What was that for!?" Korra yelled.
"Quite a honest reaction."
She tried throwing a punch. A punch easily avoided as Jun didn't bother trying. Korra attacked and attacked over and over again. As Jun dodged blow after blow that made Korra even more reckless.
"Stop."
A swift job slammed her into unprotected gut.
"Think."
Her vision went white as she stumbled backwards. Jun delivered a uppercut palm strike to her chin.
"Now try again but without that drunken brawl style. I'm not an idiot."
Korra was raging and when she got herself under her feet. She bull rushed Jun. He redirected her right into a table that she slammed into and as a result, she went through the table. The Teen smashing it to pieces as she hit the floor.
"That's shitty foot work. I thought they would trained the Avatar to be at least somewhat decent at it." Jun mocked.
This made Korra livid as she got up from the floor. Jun saw the anger in her eyes. As she made a beeline for him.
"They didn't tell you to keep your head cool? Your open all over the place."
He reserved his strength but made a point of exposing those opening without mercy. His amber gold eyes showing cruelty in them. Korra found her cheek being back handed as she stumbled to the right.
"Your defense is atrocious and your offense is marginally better but still garbage."
To prove his point, Jun threw a punch that Korra barely dodged only because Jun wanted her to dodge. Korra's poor guard allowed for Jun to grab her exposed wrist. Korra found herself being thrown across the room straight through a chair. She hit the ground with a thud. Korra was spent as she was gasping for air while Jun walked over to her.
"Is that still nothing or is your body hurting?" Jun asked.
Korra glared at him.
"Fucking cheap shot." Korra breathed out.
She got to her feet as she prepared to attack.
"Mind you, you lied to me. I'm trying to help you and you lying to me is not the best way about the situation. If I have to beat it out of you than so be it." Jun stated.
Korra being beaten to a degree made her cool down. As she looked away. The female not wanting to admit anything. It would make her look weak, weaker than she already was and Korra being prideful would not admit it.
"I really didn't want to beat you up if that's any consolation but if telling me will make you look weak. Than you are wrong. Look at you, you're afraid." Jun chastised.
"I'm not afraid!" Korra screamed.
Korra found herself being slammed back first into the ground. She couldn't get up because she was so exhausted at this point. Her body hurt, she was just in so much pain. Jun proceeded to sit down on her stomach. Korra felt humiliated as he sat down on her like a mere object. She put her arm over her eyes as she did her best to hide the tears that streamed down her face.
"I know you were lying because of how spaced out you were when I said, "bending, up close and personal." You were starting to have a panic attack." Jun stated.
Korra being called out on her behavior, failing to solve the situation with her own promto way, and being so thoroughly humiliated is what finally got her to be honest.
"I'm so scared, I'm so scared to face Amon. He made my nightmare a reality. I don't want him to do it to someone else but I'm still so scared of him. No matter what I did, I couldn't do anything against him or his goons. If I couldn't than who could? I'm such a horrible avatar that I lost the entirety of it a few nights ago." Korra cried out.
Jun got up off of Korra. He stood up as he walked around to stand in front of her feet. Jun lowered his hand down so that could grab it.
"Come on, Avatar Korra, we have alot work to do if we are going to have what it takes to beat Amon." Jun stated.
"I'm not the Avatar anymore." She said.
Jun began laughing and she looked up. He was laughing so hard that he was clutching his sides.
"She said she wasn't the Avatar. Oh man that's a good one."
"How is that funny, I can't bend."
Jun had to take a second to settle down.
"Oh man, you know how to tell a good joke."
'Your sense of humor is worse than mine.' Korra thought.
Jun extended his hand out to Korra.
"You like to forget stuff, you can get your bending back and Amon can't take the Avatars from you, you still have them inside of you because you're The Avatar. Bending or not, that won't change my opinion of you. So I say it again, Avatar Korra, let's get going we got a lot of work ahead of us. I believe you can defeat Amon. However, we need to start now." June stated.
Korra felt a bit better at having someone addressing as her as the Avatar despite everything that had happened to her. He sounded so confident. The polar opposite of her. Even now she didn't feel the confidence that he was feeling right now. Yet, as she saw the hand. The hope that she could get her bending back. She took his hand as Jun lifted her up onto her feet. Despite the height difference, he treated it like a trivial manner. She stood over him but her back yelling at her in pain told her. She should not mess with him...again. She let go of his hand.
"Come on, the least I can do is patch you up the best I can." Jun stated.
Korra agreed.
She sat on the table they had used earlier. Now that she was at least more emotional invested and aware did she get a proper look out of the room. By the looks of the room. It was mainly empty accept for a book shelf filled with books, the table, a night stand with some binders on it along with a lamp. The night stand is located right next to the bed that Jun slept on, and she noticed how well made it was. Korra notice he didn't have a lot.
"Hey, Jun, what do you do besides reading?" Korra asked.
"I might go out on a walk or something, I'm not very socialable." He spoke.
"How did you meet Mako and Bolin than?"
"When I first came to Republic City, I saved them from a scuffle from The Triple Threat."
"Considering how you made them work. I bet they were employed here." Korra said.
"A few weeks yeah but they left, the job never meet their skill set. I didnt want them to waste their time here at a job that didnt deserve them...maybe Mako though." Jun replied.
Korra giggled at the response.
"He can be annoying at times." Korra admitted.
"They both can but they're good kids. I'm done by the way." Jun said.
Everything felt much better aside from her gut and ribs. Jun handed her a first aid kit. A blush evidently on his face.
"I'm not a girl and I would rather not besides I know it would just make you really uncomfortable."
Korra grew a cheshire grin. He was embarrassed about seeing her bare gut.
"What happened to the nearly killing the Avatar part?" Korra joked.
She was promptly shoved out the restaurant with med kit in hand.
"4:30am sharp! Tommorow!" He shouted through the door.
Her getting humiliated was well worth this little revelation.
