Chapter 15
(Fire Nation)
Naruto gasped for breath as he woke up and looked around and saw that he was in a room that kinda reminded him of the rooms he had seen in the South Pole.
"Ah, good, your awake" an elderly woman said with a smile, as she entered the room
"Where am I? Who are you?" Naruto asked her as he stood up out of his bed, before wincing slightly, before he saw that he had what looked like bandages covering his chest and arms.
"Calm down, you are among friends. You are in the Fire Nation. You and Avatar Korra washed ashore a few days ago, though you were dragging her ashore, barely conscious, before we found you" the old woman said with a calm tone.
"Was there anyone else with us? A large fox with nine tails, perhaps?" Naruto asked, as he remembered what happened on the ocean.
"I'm afraid not. There's nothing here but us and the animals we tend to" the old woman said, as she shook her head.
Naruto frowned at this, before he clenched his fists and moved his hands slightly, making the air move a bit, before he took a deep breath to calm himself.
"Are you an Airbender? I was unaware that Tenzin had another child with such unique hair" the old woman said, looking surprised at seeing Naruto bend the air.
"Oh no, he's not my dad, despite the attitude when he teaches me Airbending. But yes, I am an Airbender" Naruto said, as he shook his head.
"Hmmmmm. Follow me, young Airbender" the old woman said, as she walked towards the door.
"You can call me Naruto. And where is Korra? Is she OK?" Naruto asked, as he got up and followed after the old woman.
"The Avatar is fine physically. Spiritually, she is healing and should recover soon. While you wait, you should meet them" the old woman said as she led Naruto outside.
"Meet who -?" Naruto was asking as he walked outside and was cut off, as he went silent, as he saw that outside, it was full of a few temple looking buildings, it had flocks of sky bison either flying around or eating grass, from baby ones to full grown ones, who were being tended to by other people.
"Welcome to the Sky Bison Sanctuary, young Airbender," the old woman said with a smile at Naruto's stunned science.
"H-how? I was told that they were practically extinct" Naruto said with shock.
"It has taken a lot of hard work. This was one of Fire Lord Zuko's side projects. He wanted to try and make up for his nation's part in the hundred year war" the old woman said, as she walked towards a nearby group of bison, who were all grazing nearby.
"This place is amazing," Naruto said with a smile as he looked around, before he ran to catch up with the old woman, who was feeding some of the sky bison some apples.
The old woman smiled at this, before she turned to look at Naruto. "Would you like to feed one?" she asked him, as she held up the basket of apples to Naruto.
Naruto's smile got bigger at this, before he took an apple and held it out to the gathered sky bison, who all looked at him curiously.
One in particular looked at him for a moment, before he sniffed him curiously and took the apple and ate it, before groaning happily.
"Glad that you like it big guy - woah!" Naruto was saying, before the sky vision tackled him and started to lick him.
"Well now, it would seem that this bison likes you," the woman said with a laugh.
"I would say so" Naruto said with his own laugh, as he got up and dried himself off, before he pet the sky bison.
"It is said a sky bison is a friend to all Airbenders and that when one picks you, you have a friend for life" the old woman said, as she fed the other bison.
"Wait, pick me, as in….?" Naruto asked, as he raised an eyebrow at this.
"Of course. Lord Zuko would wish for an Airbender who is helping the Avatar to have one as a companion on his journey" the old woman said with a nod, as she smiled at Naruto.
"Is that true? You wanna join me?" Naruto asked the bison, as he patted him.
The sky bison groaned at this, before he nodded at Naruto.
"Well, at least we have a ride out of here now, when Korra is ready" Naruto said, as he smiled at the bison.
"You'll need to give him a name. We will also provide you with a saddle and reins for him" the woman said, as she fed the other bison the rest of the apples.
Naruto patted the bison on its head, as he thought about what to call it, before he grinned. "I think that I'll call you Kazuki. It means air where I'm from" he said with a smile at the bison, who groaned in approval at this.
"It's a fine name. Now, shall we check on Avatar Korra?" the old woman asked, as she finished feeding the bison.
"Yes please" Naruto said, nodding at this as he followed the old woman, with Kazuki close behind him.
Soon, the old woman led Naruto towards a big hut and as they approached it, they saw Korra coming out of the front door, alongside some other older people in robes.
"Korra!" Naruto called out, before he quickly ran to his girlfriend and pulled her into a hug.
"Naruto! Thank goodness you're ok. Were you hurt?" Korra asked, as she hugged Naruto back.
"A few scratches, but they patched me up a bit. What about you?" Naruto asked, as he and Korra separated.
"Apparently the spirit that attacked me corrupted my spiritual connection to my past lives. But thankfully, I was able to fix it, thanks to meeting up with the very first Avatar" Korra explained, as she nodded at the escorts with her in gratitude.
"Wait, you met the first Avatar? I thought you already knew who that was" Naruto said in confusion.
"I have only met Aang up to now. But anyway, the first Avatar explained everything that is going on with the spirits to me. Unalaq is the one responsible for all of the attacks and for corrupting Kurama" Korra said, as she frowned.
Naruto scowled at this, but calmed down after a few moments. "How is he doing this?" he asked with a calm tone.
"I'll explain on the way. First, we need to find a ride to go find Tenzin" Korra said, as she grabbed Naruto's hand to comfort him.
"I think I have a new friend that can help us," Naruto said with a grin, as Kazuki groaned loudly, as he walked over, now wearing a brand new saddle on his back and reins tied to his horns.
"You have a sky bison now?" Korra asked, as Naruto pet Kazuki.
"Well, it's more like he chose me," Naruto said with a smile, as he saw the old woman approaching them.
"You must hurry. Harmonic Convergence is only weeks away" the old woman said with a firm tone to the two teens.
"We're on our way. Let's go" Naruto said, as he climbed onto Kazuki's head, with Korra close behind him.
"Hold on. Can you send the Fire Lord a message for us?" Korra asked the old woman, as she held out a scroll.
"Of course. She will get it right away" the old woman said with a nod, as she took the note from Korra, who quickly joined Naruto on Kazuki.
"Kazuki, yip yip" Naruto said, as he grabbed the reins and shook them.
Kazuki groaned at this, before he took off into the sky, carrying the Avatar and the blonde Airbender away from the Fire Nation.
(At the Southern Air Temple, half a day later)
As Kazuki approached the Southern Air Temple, Naruto looked around a bit at the temple.
"Wow" Naruto said with a smile, as while he had been impressed with Air Temple Island back in Republic City, one of the actual temples was more impressive to him.
"Look, there they are!" Korra said, as she pointed down below, where Tenzin and his family were looking up at them, as they had spotted them thanks to Kazuki.
Naruto quickly guided Kazuki down towards the ground and soon, the sky bison landed near Tenzin and his family.
"Korra, Naruto, what are you two doing here?" Tenzin asked, as he ran over with his family close behind.
"Did you bring food?" Meelo and Ikki asked with wide grins, as they ran towards them.
"Sorry guys, we have been busy," Naruto said as he jumped off Kazuki, before petting him.
"You got a sky bison?" Jinora asked curiously, as she approached and pet Kazuki a bit.
"Yeah. We washed ashore at the Sky Bison Sanctuary in the Fire Nation, while we were dropping off a message to the Fire Lord to help us fight Unalaq" Naruto said, as he slightly frowned.
"Wait, why are you trying to fight against your uncle, Korra?" Kya asked curiously.
"That's a long story," Korra said with a sigh.
"Well, we were about to eat, so let's go back inside the temple and you can tell us," Pema said as she approached, while carrying Rohan.
Naruto and Korra nodded at this, as they followed them back towards the temple.
(One explanation later)
After explaining the situation, Tenzin had suggested that they try to go to the Spirit World, so that they can try to stop Unalaq's plans for the Harmonic Convergence. So Tenzin took everyone to various parts of the temple, so that he could try and lead Korra into the Spirit World. But when they couldn't meditate into the Spirit World in one place, he got annoyed and let them off to a different area instead. Even when they tried a few methods to help them, they didn't work either, which made Tenzin even more annoyed.
"If we can't get there using a highly spiritual place, maybe we can get there by using a spiritual guide" Tenzin said, as he rubbed his chin in thought.
"Don't you usually need a guide that has actually been there?" Kya asked, as she raised an eyebrow at her brother, as she and Bumi both knew that Tenzin had never been to the Spirit World.
"Wait, you have never been to the spirit world? Naruto asked Tenzin raising his own eyebrow at the elder Airbender
"No. It was his greatest failure" Bumi said with a teasing grin.
"Wait, but I thought that you spent days in the temple meditating" Pema said, as she looked at her husband
"That was me trying to enter the Spirit World, but it never happened, no matter how hard I tried" Tenzin said, as he sighed
"Uh, I think I know who can help us," Jinora said with a nervous look, as she raised her hand to get everyone's attention.
"You Jinora?" Naruto asked curiously, as they all looked at the teen Airbender.
"Well, we don't have any other ideas," Korra said with a nod at Jinora, as she led them down the mountain side.
Soon, the group was in front of what looked like an old meditation temple.
"What is this place?" Korra asked, as they looked around
"It's an old Airbender meditation circle. Jinora, how did you find this place?" Tenzin asked, as he looked around, before smiling at his daughter.
"My, um, friends showed me" Jinora said, as she rubbed the back of her head nervously
"What friends? There's been no one here but us" Meelo said, as he gestured to the group.
"That's not true, Meelo. It's okay, you can show yourselves" Jinora said, as she looked up.
Everyone else looked up and saw what looked like rabbits with wings on top of their heads.
"You made friends with spirits?" Korra asked, surprised at this reveal.
"Jinora, you are amazing," Naruto said with a smile, as some of the rabbit-like spirits flew over to him to inspect him, one of which landed on his head, while one flew over to Bumi and flew around him.
This caused Jinora's face to go atomic red, before she looked to the side and smiled a bit
This caused Tenzin to raise an eyebrow at this, but before he could respond to this, he was cut off.
"Bunnies!" Ikki and Meelo yelled out with wide grins.
"Actually, they're dragonfly bunny spirits," Jinora said, after she composed herself and looked at everyone.
"Aw, I think this one likes me. I think I'll call him Bum-Ju. It's short for 'Bumi Junior.' Don't you think he looks like me?" Bumi asked, as he pointed at the spirit, who had landed on his head.
"The resemblance is uncanny," Tenzin said with a flat tone of voice at his brother.
"So your friends can help us get to the Spirit World?" Korra asked Jinora, aa she gestured to the spirits, who flew around them.
"I think that someone with a strong spiritual connection needs to guide you into the Spirit World," Jinora said.
"Well then, let's do this," Tenzin said, as he stepped forward.
"Uh, who wants to tell him?" Naruto asked, as he saw Jinora frown a bit at this.
This got a laugh from Bumi and a smile from Kya, as they instantly understood what Naruto was saying.
"Tell me what?" Tenzin asked, as he gave everyone a questioning look.
"Tenzin, I think it should be Jinora who -" Korra was saying, before she was cut off.
"Jinora will not be entering the Spirit World! She's not ready for the dangers on the other side, but I am! I've spent years studying, training and mastering everything that there is to know about the Spirit World" Tenzin said
"Yeah, but you can't go there, can you?" Naruto asked, as he crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes at this.
"You don't know -" Tenzin was saying, before being cut off.
"I know enough to know that we need to get to the Spirit World and Jinora is our only chance and you being jealous isn't helping" Naruto said with a firm tone of voice.
"Jealous?! I'm not jeal -" Tenzin was saying with a scowl, before being cut off once again.
"No, that pretty much sums you up" Bumi said with a nod, along with Bum-Ju.
"Stay out of this!" Tenzin yelled, his face going red from his frustration.
"Tenzin, we're running out of time," Korra said with her own firm look on her face.
"Dad, I can do this. I have studied everything I can and I'm the only one who can help now" Jinora said, as she stepped forward after steeling her resolve, making Tenzin pause.
"Perhaps I will never have the connection with spirits like I always wanted….like my father wanted me to have. I'm proud of you, Jinora" Tenzin said, as Jinora hugged him, with Tenzin returning the hug.
"Don't worry Tenzin. I'll be going with them too, so nothing will happen to them" Naruto said, as he nodded at Tenzin.
"What makes you think you can enter the Spirit world?" Tenzin asked, raising an eyebrow at this, as while he believed in Korra and Jinora doing it, he found it hard to believe Naruto could do it.
"Um…" Naruto said, as he held his arms out at the dragonfly bunny spirits, who were all happily flying round him, as if they were drawn to him.
"He's got you there bro" Kya said with a chuckle at this.
"Go. Close the Spirit Portal. We'll stay here and keep your bodies safe till you return" Bumi said to them, as he gave them a thumbs up.
The three teens nodded at this, as they all took their seats.
"Be safe, sweetie," Pema said with a worried look and tone.
"Don't worry, she's stronger than you think. Right, Jinora?" Naruto asked with a grin.
"R-right" Jinora said with a nod as she fought back her blush, before she focused and went back to her meditation, along with Naruto and Korra.
After a few moments, all three of their eyes started to glow, signifying they were in the Spirit World.
"I wish I could go, then I'd show these bad spirits the power of me" Meelo said.
"I'd like to go too, to see how pretty the Spirit World is," Ikki said with a nod.
"Well, here's hoping Jinora will be OK," Pema said with a sigh.
"Oh, she will be fine. Though if she embarrases herself in front of whiskers, she may want to stay there, so she won't be seen there" Bumi said with a grin.
"Why would Jinora care what Naruto thinks of her?" Tenzin asked, raising an eyebrow at this.
"Well, think about it little bro," Bumi said with a grin, as he put his arm around Tenzin's shoulder.
"Bumi," Kya said with a roll of her eyes.
"You know she has a crush on someone and she was getting nervous around whiskers, when he praised her, right?" Bumi asked with a grin.
"Yeah, but what's that got to do with…" Tenzin was asking, before he paused and his eyes widened in realisation.
"And it looks like he's got it," Bumi said with a snicker.
"Naruto is forbidden from the island!" Tenzin yelled in a panic.
"Pffft. Yeah, good luck with that" Kya said, as she rolled her eyes at this reaction.
"Aw, but why? He's funny and he makes awesome yummy food" Meelo said with a pout.
"Yea, what he said" Ikki said with a nod.
"Because I said so!" Tenzin yelled, as his face went red from his frustration.
"Watch him try to forbid Jinora from leaving the island and she just runs off with Will," Kya whispered to Bumi.
"She's already kinda doing that," Pema said with a sigh.
"WHAT?!" Tenzin yelled in a panic, causing all the wildlife in the area to either take off into the sky or run off.
P.O.M and Kfbanime87 were both sitting at their desks in their office, when….
I am vengeance! Deadpool yelled, as he barged into the office, dressed in black, with a black rag covering his eyes, while talking in a gravelly voice
Before he was smacked with a hammer thrown by Kfbanime87, causing him to fall to the floor, where he groaned in pain
You idiot! You're imitating Batman, when you're dressed as Daredevil! Kfbanime87 yelled
Well, to be fair, those two were prone to rip each other off back in the comic days: P.O.M said with a shrug
Whatever! Let's just get back to work: Kfbanime87 said with a sigh
So, what's next? Deadpool asked, as he got up off the floor
After his choice, it's off to the world of Pokemon: P.O.M said
Cool. And what's this I hear about you wanting to do a new Avatar fic? Deadpool asked, before he ducked, avoiding another hammer thrown by Kfbanime87
That's it! I'm getting my big hammer! Kfbanime87 yelled out
A new one? What's the idea? P.O.M asked curiously
Naruto is half human/half - gah! Uncle! Uncle! Deadpool was saying, before Kfbanime87 tackled him and started to choke him
I kill you! Kfbanime87 yelled, as he started to choke the mad merc
You choke like a bitch! Deadpool choked out
P.O.M rolled his eyes at this, as he looked over at Kfbanime87's computer screen to look at his notes and ideas. Huh, not a bad setup. At least it's unique for an Avatar fic. I mean, he's not a Bender, for one: he said with a raised eyebrow
Does this mean you're down to help me, when I'm done developing the idea? Kfbanime87 asked, as he stopped choking Deadpool to look at his Co author
Eh, sure. What's the pairing? P.O.M said with a nod, before he looked at his co author curiously
Single and I'm not telling and you zip it! Kfbanime87 yelled, as he shoved a sledge pistol into Deadpool's mouth
Well, see ya later folks: P.O.M said, as he quickly got up to break up the fight

Let's hope that now the vaccines are all done, we can rest a bit easier.
I would also like to point out that this is the last new fanfic that me and Kfbanime87 will be writing together until we finish one, as writing too many fanfics takes up too much time.
The harem is: Will, Korra, Asami, Opal and Ru. And don't worry, we have a plan for who to have Bolin pair with (which I'm sure will leave many of you shocked). Hope that you all enjoyed this fanfic, and once I've helped Kfbanime87, I'll be updating Jinchuriki Trainer next.
