"So, Shippo," Inuyasha called back over his shoulder, "What is the Heart Scar exactly?"
Heart Scar? Kagome was curious now.
"It's my unique master attack!" The fox demon crossed his arms, tilting his nose in the air with pride.
"Yeah? How's it work?"
A smirk spread across Shippo's face.
"Gagaga," he growled menacingly, "and zubaba—" Kagome felt him crouch, and then suddenly pounce at the hanyou—"HEART SCAR!"
Inuyasha made a strangled sort of sound, an odd cross between a yell and a snicker, as the fox dug tiny teeth into his shoulder.

"Oh! I forgot!" Kagome clapped her hands in sudden realization. "I brought something to show you all!"
The priestess reached into her backpack excitedly, pulling out a large, gray object. The half-demon leaned in to sniff cautiously. "What is it?"
"You remember the camera I showed you?"
"The thing that copies what it sees?"
"That's right," Kagome said. "Well, this one doesn't copy what it sees. It copies what it hears."
Inuyasha cocked his head curiously, watching as she picked out a round, flat, shiny thing and started putting it inside the strange object. "So… is it listening to us now?"
"No, no!" the girl said quickly, and everyone around the campfire physically relaxed. "But it can show you some music that it heard in my time."
With that, Kagome pressed the play button.
The reaction among her companions was instantaneous. Sango and Shippo leaned forward eagerly, while Miroku perked up to listen. Inuyasha flinched, squinting his eyes as if he expected this new 'camera' to flash.
The first song was calm, with traditional Japanese instruments her companions were familiar with. But soon Kagome was switching the songs, and her friends' faces changed from excited, to interested, to confused.
"You can really hear that in your time?" Shippo was excited.
"I've never heard anything like it before." Sango was curious.
"Those are some very… interesting sounds, Kagome-sama." Miroku looked uncomfortable.
"That's music?" Some things never changed.

AN: Long time no see! It's been over 10 years since I first started writing this story. If anyone out there is still reading it, thank you for reading! I was cleaning out some old digital files and stumbled on a few more chapters that I had written, but never published... so hey, why not post them, right? I hope you've all been well :)
As always, reviews are much appreciated!
