The Clinic

The next day Aqua was on the subway train this time with Gatomon coming with her in his bag. Also she managed to get a seat on the subway a rare opportunity.

"It may be crowded, but it looks like you can still grab a seat if you're lucky…" Gatomon said smiling.

"Yeah, this is the first time I managed to." Aqua said relieved.

"You know, while we're riding the train, we've got some downtime. I wonder if we could put it to a good use…" Gatomon said thinking.

"If I had a book, I could pass the time reading it." Aqua said thinking "Speaking of, I haven't visited the library at school yet" She thinks on it.

Soon they arrive at the school and were going to the entrance but Aqua hears two girls talking.

"What's wrong? You don't look so good." A concerned girl asked her friend.

"I haven't been feeling well lately." The Ill-looking girl said "My head's all foggy, and I have no energy…I've tried every drug at the pharmacy, but nothing works. Do I have some new virus?" The Ill-looking girl then asked scared "…Is this the onset of a psychotic breakdown? Wh-What should I do? Am I going to die?!"

"Calm down, calm down!" The Concerned girl said "Let's go to the clinic. Come on. I'm sure the doctor can prescribe something that'll fix you right up!"

"Doctor have the best medicine, huh…" Gatomon said thinking "Hey, wasn't that one alien customer back at Leblanc a doctor?"

"He was humming a patter song I think." Aqua said thinking on it but knew he meant the Salarian.

"That's not what's important here!" Gatomon said "Through he did sound like to have a good singing voice for it…Anyway it might be nice to have some strong medicine to use in the Palace…"

"I guess so" Aqua said nodding

"Hey, morning Aqua." Uzi said arriving "What're you doing here? Let's head to school together. I mean, it's right there, but who cares."

Aqua chuckles and heads to the school with Uzi.

While in Miss Finster's class both Aqua and Alexis get a buzz on there phone from Uzi in the group chat. Gatomon was in the space under Aqua's desk.

"Hey, we're meeting up at the hideout, after school, right?" Uzi asked.

"Don't text now. We're in class." Alexis messages back.

"Whoa! You mean you're actually listening to all this junk?" Uzi asked in the message.

"Yeah, but none of it is really sticking today…" Alexis admits.

"I know right?" Uzi messages. "Anyway, hideout after school!"

"Where exactly is this 'hideout'?" Alexis asked not knowing as she left before that info was revealed.

"The school roof." Uzi informs her.

Alexis surprised asked "Hang on, we can still go up there?"

"Yeah, I'll let you in." Uzi messages. "Well, I'll be waiting. Just come up once school's over."

"Gotcha, I'll be there" Aqua messages.

"I'm going to fine you if you're late!" Uzi messages

"Hey, Strife!" Miss Finster yelled out making Aqua jumps as she sees the strict teacher glaring at her. "You! Pay attention! Is that how you listen when someone's talking to you?!"

"N-No Miss Finster…" Aqua said nervous, she can feel murderous intent and she was right as Miss Finster hurls a piece of chalk at her and it hits her in the head.

"Ooh…That looked like it hurt." A Female student said after seeing that.

A male student snickers and said "She hit her right in the forehead…"

"That's what you get for daydreaming!" Miss Finster told her. "Kids these days have no respect for their elders."

"Yes, I am sorry Miss Finster." Aqua said rubbing her head

"Good grief…Looks like you need more Proficiency to completely dodge that." Gatomon said.

Aqua sighs and nods to that and pays attention to class.

Soon it was after school, and the team all meet up on the roof and settle in by the desks at the centre.

"Looks like we're all here." Uzi said looking around. "Alright, let's get moving!"

"Hold on, it's still too early for us to head to the Palace." Gatomon told her.

"But why?" Uzi asked confused "Don't we just got to steal that Treasure thing?"

"Don't underestimate the dangers of that place. We need to prepare." Gatomon explained.

"Ain't that Persona thing we got enough to deal with it?" Uzi asked.

"That's exactly what I mean when I say don't estimate it. You'll die if you mess up in there." Gatomon told her. "So again, we need to prepare before we head in."

"I agree, my dad said having everything will ensure success." Aqua said nodding.

"But…how exactly are we supposed to do that?" Alexis asked.

"I'm glad you asked, Lady Alexis." Gatomon said "First, we need to find better equipment for all of you."

"You're talking about weapons. Oh, I know an awesome place!" Uzi said excited.

"If that's the case, you can handle that side of things." Gatomon said nodding. "The only other thing would be stocking up on medicine. Fatigue is unavoidable in a Palace…"

"And where can we get medicine?" Alexis asked.

"Don't worry, I know just the place." Gatomon said smiling "I hope you look forward to it, Lady Alexis! Now then, Aqua and I have some business in Metru-Nui, so let's head off for today!"

"Huh…what business…?" Aqua asked confused

"Just come with me!" Gatomon told her. "I won't be able to get close enough by myself!"

"Okay, okay…" Aqua said sighing.

Soon Aqua and Gatomon arrive back in the backstreets of Metru-Nui.

"Hey, remember that alien customer you met at Leblanc yesterday?" Gatomon asked her "The doctor who prescribes medication after a quick examination? He was sitting at the booth…"

"Yeah, I remember him, not everyday you see a Salarian." Aqua said nodding.

"I just realized something." Gatomon said "If he's the kind of doctor who gets sketchy rumors like that, maybe he'll help us out. He's somewhere in the neighbourhood, right? Take me to him."

Aqua looks round and sees a Talkative Woman and goes to her "Excuse me, do you know where I can find the Salarian Doctor who lives here?"

"Ah, I've heard of him…You should steer clear of private physicians." The woman said "Larger hospitals like the one that delightful Dr. Watts are much better because they've got so many more talented doctors. The doctor I go to works at a major hospital. He's very good. Or at least he feels reliable."

Aqua leaves her and keeps going and sees standing by an old theatre that was closed she sees a sickly man and goes to her "Excuse me, do you know where the clinic is?"

The Sickly Man looks at her and said "…Oh, Solus Medical Clinic? It's right in front of you." He points across the street to where the clinic is. "I'm tempted to go myself, but those rumors…I wish I had the guts to go in like you…"

"Thank you." Aqua said and goes to the clinic.

"This is the clinic, that the chief mentioned." Gatomon said "Now how can we get them to give us some medicine?"

"I think the only option is to make something up" Aqua said thinking.

"…Well, I guess that's the only choice with have." Gatomon said nodding. "We'll just have to go for it. All right, let's step inside."

Aqua nods and goes into the clinic.

Entering she sees it is empty but someone was at the reception desk, it was the Solarian from the other day, Aqua guessed he works her alone.

"Hello, is this your first visit?" The Solarian doctor asked looking at his work but then looks up to see Aqua "Hm? Parden me but I feel I have seen you somewhere before…"

"Yesterday at Leblanc." Aqua told him nodding.

"I see…well that's unimportant…So, what are you here for today?" The doctor asked her.

"I have been have a lot of nightmares lately." Aqua said trying to act like she had a problem.

The doctor remains silent thinking then said "…Alright. Please head to the exam room."

We come to the exam room where Aqua did her best to keep a consistent made up story and did the tests the Solarian doctor had her do.

"…In a case like yours, I find it is mostly due to stress." The doctor said. "I will prescribe you some pain relievers, okay?"

"Sure sounds good." Aqua said nodding.

"Hang on, I still need to restock those…" The doctor said thinking "So why not we go with sleeping pills instead. Sleep is the best medicine for most races. Now which type of pill do you wantm a sweet-tasting one or a bitter one?"

"Is that really all you have?" Aqua asked.

"Parden? You are aware you are the patient here." The doctor said to her "Do you think you should be telling me how to do a job I have worked a long time. It appears my assumptions are correct again."

"W-What do you mean?" Aqua asked confused.

"Simple actually, you're not sick at all, are you?" The doctor said "It was foolish to try a trick a Solarian let along me. I also assume you're here because you heard the rumors about me, correct?"

"Yeah…I did." Aqua said nodding sadly.

"Hmmm, you're one of those patients with an ulterior motive, right? I sometimes what this planet is coming to?" The doctor asked. He looks at Aqua and said "Through I guess high school lifeforms have it tough nowadays too, right? Well then, alright then. I'll prescribe you some medication."

"Wait really?" Aqua asked surprised.

"Yes, but only medication that will help you recover your health." The Doctor told Aqua. "I guess it's fine. You seem to be pretty earnest, and you don't look like you'll be any trouble. Also this is my private practice. All the medicine I dispense is original."

"Oh really, that's cool" Aqua said smiling.

"Indeed, I have a licence that allows me to make my own formulas." The doctor explains "You've likely seen them being sold at various hospitals. It's your responsibility to take care of yourself. So if they's okay with you, stop by anytime."

"That will really help, thank you." Aqua said smiling.

"Good, nice you are quick on the uptake…It will save me a lot of time." The doctor said nodding and then looks at Aqua curiously "Hmmm…for an earthling child, you're particularly odd, you know? I wonder what you're going to use the medicine for…"

"Erm…well…" Aqua said not sure what to say.

"Well, as long as you don't cause me any problems, it is no trouble…" The Solarian doctor said shrugging. "The name is Mordin Solus."

"Nice to meet you Dr. Solus, I'm Aqua Strife." Aqua said.

Mordin nods and shows the items he has for sale "This is all I've got at this moment…"

Aqua nods and looks at it and buys some stuff that will help her and the team.

"Good luck then." Mordin said nodding

Aqua leaves the exam room and sees a man entering, he was a tall middle-aged man with a slim build and slightly tanned skin. He had short black and gray hair as well as a thick mustache and eyebrows, and green eyes. He is wearing a grey overcoat with yellow linings, a yellow dress shirt, and a black necktie. His pants were the same color as his overcoat. His yellow-buttoned undercoat and fingerless gloves matched his cordovan shoes, under which he wore yellow socks.

The man walks past Aqua and enters the Exam room. Aqua was going to leave but then hears Mordin say "Oh Arthur, what is the reason for your visit? Do you have a cold? Stormachache? Perhaps even Athelete's foot? No matter which it is, I must ask you take a number…"

"Enough of this!" The man known as Arthur yelled out annoyed. Concerned Aqua turns to the Exam room door. "You are the only one who could have developed that type of medicine."

Curious Aqua gets closer to the door to listen "I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about…" Mordin said.

"Don't play dumb with me, you know Solarians can't be convincing in that." Arthur said "Rumor has it, it's a drug so potent it can give a person unlimited power."

"Really now? That is news to me, love a chance to research it" Mordin said still playing dumb.

"Developing experimental drugs, medicine, and herbal remedies violates all health regulations." Arthur explained "Are you attempting to use your former STG training to create a super-stimulant? A drug like that will only become a social issue."

"Arthur Watts, you always were known to be quite persistent. You know I am just a quack in medical…" Mordin said to him.

"The police troopers may not be taking action, but I imagine the media will soon pick up on it." Arthur said to him "You intend to ruin my reputation again, right? You're a disgrace to the medical community."

Mordin is heard sighing while looking a bit annoyed.

"What's with that look? It was your mistake after all, right?" Arthur said sounding condensing and mocking at the same time. "I won't be responsible for your criminal actions. Dispose of that 'medicine' immediately and resign. The name 'Mordin Solus' will never…" He stopped talking then said "Hey, is somebody there?!"

"Oh snap" Aqua said and leaves the clinic quickly.

"Geez, they almost caught us." Gatomon said once they were outside and he emerges out of Aqua's bag. "Through it sounded like they were talking about something dangerous…Could that alien be hiding some extra strong medicine…?"

"We should use that to help in the Palace." Aqua said thinking.

"I agree." Gatomon said smiling "If it's that strong, it might come in handy at the Palace. All right, let's come back when that man isn't here. We shouldn't involve people who have nothing to do with this. Keep the Phantom Thieves a secret, okay?"

"Right, no need to worry about it." Aqua said nodding.

"Anyway, great work! That went really well!" Gatomon said nodding.

Just then Aqua gets a DM in the Phantom Thieves group chat and looks at her phone.

"So you know that store I mentioned, with the model guns?" Uzi asked in it "It's in Vale. I can go with you if you want."

"Yeah, sounds good." Aqua messages tomorrow would mark her first day off since beginning school so she was eager to see more of the city she moved to.

"Nice." Uzi messages "Well, let's figure out where to meet. You at least know how to get to Vale Station, yeah?"

"Hey, I can't make it." Alexis messages "Can I trust you guys to check the place out for me?"

"You can't come?" Uzi asked.

"Not tomorrow" Alexis replies "I made plans to go see Hina in the hospital."

"Ah, gotcha." Uzi replies understanding "Don't worry, we got this. Well, see you in Vale, Aqua! I'll be in the front of the station!"

"See you there Uzi." Aqua replies before putting her phone away.

"We might be able to get our hands on some decent stuff if this store really has model guns." Gatomon comments. "Well, we can leave that for tomorrow. Let's go home!"

"Yeah, we made good progress today in prep." Aqua said smiling and heads for Leblanc.

Soon Aqua and Gatomon were back in the bedroom at Leblanc and were getting settled.

"It's going smoothly so far." Gatomon said smiling "Once we're prepared, let's take on the Palace. That's where the real fun starts, got it?"

"Right." Aqua said nodding and get ready for bed.

She climbs into bed, tomorrow she will see more of the city of Vale. She wondered what she will see there.

The group has a place for medical supplies but they will need a place to get better weapons next. Also yes I went with RWBY's Arthur Watts for the Chief doctor antagonist for the Death Confidant storyline.
