We getting close to the final confrontation with Gaston's Shadow, the calling card is about to be sent

The Castle Heist

The next day Aqua goes to school and as she approaches she sees the same two boys who were talking about books were talking again.

"I got a chance to talk to this girl the other day…" The Dull Student said "We had an amazing conversation after I brought up some of the stuff I read about! We're going to go out somewhere together soon!"

"Well, don't get ahead of yourself because it happened to go well." The Calm Student said. "Look Knowledge isn't enough. You need Proficiency to adapt on the fly. You also need Kindness to be accepted and Guts to be honest and direct. Plus Charm, to draw people to you. The quality of your character says a lot about you, so it's important to better yourself every day."

"Really? But it takes so much work…" The Dull Student said, "But I'll do it, if it means I'll get a girlfriend. I guess I'll start by showering every day. I hear girls prefer a dude who's hygienic."

"Hey, this applies to you too." Gatomon said to Aqua.

"Of course" Aqua said nodding.

"You get it. That's a good attitude to have." Gatomon said nodding.

With that that they head to school and in Math class with the teacher being a long red haired woman in a white and blue outfit known as Chisa Yukizome.

"There's been a lot of dire news lately, with the train accident and the volleyball incident." Chisa said. "People are theorizing that it's these sudden psychotic breakdowns, but the cause is still unknown…"

"Well, unexplained occurrences like these are commonplace in the world of math." Chisa continued she then looks at Aqua "For instance…Aqua. Please look at this." She presents a black and white picture with a lot of shaped made of lines "It's said you only need a few colors in order to paint so that adjacent colors are clearly separated. Do you know the name of the theorem named after this number?"

"Yes, I think it is the Four-Color Theorem." Aqua said thinking.

"That's correct. I suppose the four-color theorem is common sense." Chisa said smiling and showed the imaged with the colors yellow, red and blue filled to show the theorem. "As you can see, any flat image a map of the world or anything can be pained using only four colors. Many people have realized this principle based on experience since ancient times. However, it's difficult to prove, and was an unsolved problem for a long time."

The Class and Gatomon were impressed by Aqua able to answer the question and her knowledge increases a bit.

"I hope the psychotic breakdowns don't just end up as an another unsolved mystery." Chisa admits "My heart hurts just thinking about the economic losses this string of incidents has caused."

"The world's full of dangers huh?" Gatomon said thinking "I guess even the world outside school is no good, either."

After class, Aqua decided now was the time for sending the Calling Card and called the others for a meeting on the roof.

Once they were all gathered Gatomon said to the three "All right! All that's left now is to send out the calling card and take Gaston's heart!"

"Couldn't we have just sent one at the beginning of all this…?" Uzi asked confused.

"It's not that simple." Gatomon told her and explained "A Treasure won't stay materialized forever. Once the impression is gone, the Treasure will disappear. I think it'll last around a day, at most."

"The heck...? That's like no time at all…" Uzi said surprised. "Anyways, we can send a calling card right now, yeah? Let's do it and steal that jerk's heart!"

"Then let's send it out" Aqua said with a nod

"I've been waiting to hear you say that!" Uzi said determined. "Tomorrow will finally be the day."

"So, we send the calling card in the morning…and carry out the plan by the end of the day, right?" Alexis said smiling.

"Correct. The effect won't last that long." Gatomon said nodding. "…Are you worried?"

"Heh. Waited too long." Alexis said nodding.

"Perfect." Gatomon said smiling.

"We're going to pull this off, no matter what!" Alexis said determined.

"So, who's going to write the card?" Gatomon asked.

"Leave it to me!" Uzi volunteered with glee.

"Why?" Alexis asked concerned.

"Why? Why wouldn't it to be me?!" Uzi asked her.

"This is important. Are you sure you can handle the pressure?" Alexis asked Uzi.

"I must agree." Gatomon said nodding.

"I really want to get him good!" Uzi said serious and looks at Aqua "Let me write it….Come on, please?"

"All right, I guess it couldn't hurt." Aqua said with a shrug.

"Yeah, I got this!" Uzi said smiling.

"Hey, are you sure about this?" Alexis asked the drone girl "If they find out our identities, all this work will be for nothing…"

"I know, I know!" Uzi said to her.

"All right, then! Tomorrow it is!" Gatomon said smiling "You'd better not slack off on this."

"Yeah we won't fail." Aqua said nodding.

After that the four talk before heading home

Aqua soon arrived back home with Gatomon.

"Well, whether you like it or not, the real battle begins tomorrow." Gatomon said to her. "Better be sure you're prepared, okay?"

"Got it." Aqua said and soon gets a message on her phone in the group chat.

"Man, there's so much I want to write on the calling card. It's kind of tough figuring out what to say." Uzi wrote.

"Are you sure you're really capable of this?!" Alexis asked.

"Don't worry, I got it. I even made a logo for us." Uzi replied.

"…A logo?" Alexis said.

"Yup. You'll get to see it tomorrow." Uzi said.

"Well, that's worrying…" Alexis points out.

"Anyways, you guys should rest up." Uzi said "If we screw up tomorrow we're totally done for."

"I'm counting on you guys" Aqua writes.

"Yup, I'm sure we can do this." Alexis replies

"Just remember, we can't trust any lousy adults." Uzi mentions "That's why we got to do this ourselves. Anyways, let's pull this off and surprise everyone!"

Aqua nods and then does the crossword and Craft some lockpicks before going to bed to rest up, increasing her knowledge and proficiency. In fact she felt her proficiency improves from Bumbling to Decient.

At school we see Alexis on the first floor approach a crowd of student surrounding a wall plastered with small red cards

"A calling card?" A rumor loving student said surprised.

"I heard it was already posted by the time everyone got here this morning." An excited male student explained.

The card was wrote with letters taken from magazines and the logo at a crude drawing of what looked to be the cartoon character Black Hat's face over the words Take Your Heart

Alexis curious to see what Uzi wrote she goes to one and reads it "Sir Gaston LeGume, the utter jerk of lust…We know how lousy you are, and that you put your twisted desires on students that can't fight back. That's why we have decided to steal away those desires and make you confess your sins. This will be done tomorrow, so we hope you will be ready. From the Phantom Thieves of Hearts." She was bemused and said "…Wow."

Alexis looks and sees Aqua, Gatomon in Aqua's bag and Uzi and goes to them. Uzi seeing her approaches and asked smiling "Not bad, right? I looked up a bunch of similar stuff online for reference."

"Um…Yeah…" Alexis said not as excited on it. "I know what you wanted to say, but it sounded like an idiot trying to be an adult."

"It is…unique" Aqua said nodding.

"Your logo's a little lacking, too." Gatomon admits to her.

"Okay, you know what? Th-That ain't true!" Uzi told him.

"Did Mr. LeGume do something wrong?" A Shy Female Student in the gathered crowd asked.

"Does this mean the rumors are true?!" A Rumor-Loving Female Student asked excited.

"Wait a sec…Is someone gonna take something from Mr. LeGume?" The Rumor loving male student asked in realization.

"What's with this weird logo?" The Excited Male Student asked. "And who're these Phantom Thieves of Hearts people?" He and the others murmur more.

"…It got everyone excited, so it's all good, yeah?" Uzi points out shrugging.

Just then Gaston shows up and everyone noticed. He sees the posts on the wall and gets angry. "Who's responsible for this?!" Gaston said in anger.

Gatomon grins "…Look at that. A predictable reaction for someone who knows what we mean by distorted desires."

"I think it's hitting him pretty hard" Uzi said with a grin.

"Did you do this?! Or was it you?!" Gaston said as he tears some of the cards off in a rage and the crowd runs off in a panic. He then looks and sees the group and approaches them and asked Uzi and Aqua "…Was it you two?!"

"What are you talking about Mr. LeGume?" Aqua asked feigning ignorance.

"So, you're playing dumb?" Gaston said not buying it. "Eh, it's not a problem. You'll be expelled soon enough anyway."

Just then the world distorts and the four heroes to there surprised in a black void and in Gaston's place was Shadow Gaston who annoyed told them "Come…Steal it, if you can!" He snaps his fingers and an alarm is heard. The world goes back to normal and Gaston leaves.

"Judging from Gaston's response…I'm sure we had an effect on his Palace!" Gatomon said once Gaston was gone.

"Does that mean the Treasure's appeared?!" Alexis gasped. "We'll be able to get it today, right?"

"It's not just 'today.' It's ONLY today." Gatomon explained "The impact of seeing a calling card doesn't last long, and it cannot be repeated. This will be our one chance to steal the Treasure."

"One day's more than enough for us!" Uzi said confidant.

"Yeah, we can handle this Aqua said with a nod.

The group then leave and head into the Metaverse when school was done.

Once they arrived they could feel the increased security measures and all the guards are on high aleart.

"Let's go! Keep your guard up!" Gatomon told the group

The group made there way to the tower using shortcuts they found and unlocked along the way, The guards tried to stop them but they avoided them when they could.

Eventually they made it to Throne room but unlike before the door was open and upon entering they found it empty no guards or Shadow Gaston.

"What the heck is going on?" Uzi asked confused "The door's just sitting open and there are no soldiers around…"

"This place is probably undermanned now that they all got assigned elsewhere." Gatomon suggests. "Either way, we win as long as we can steal the Tresure! Let's keep going!"

Aqua nods and rushes for the vault and the group enters and upon entering the Treasure room they see the orb was now a ridiculously large crown floating in the air.

"Aww yeeeaaaah! The Treasure has appeared!" Gatomon said excited.

"Wow, it's huge!" Uzi said surprised.

"What do you think?!" Gatomon asked smiling. "It's just as I said! Now we can steal it! Ahhh…this shine brings tears to my eyes…"

Alexis glares and said "…it sort of annoys me. Why's it so pretty? Isn't this Gaston's desires?"

"Well even if he's scum, he would no doubt see his desires as beautiful, right Gaon?" Aqua asked.

"T-Treasure…" Gatomon said with a twinkle in his eyes.

"Uh, the cat's acting awfully excited." Uzi said concerned.

"What's wrong? Is something…" Alexis asked but then Gatomon jumps up and begins hugging and nuzzling the crown.

"Meeeeeoooow!" Gatomon lets out. "Mrrrrroooooow!"

"You're way too excited right now Gaon" Aqua said concerned.

"…Meow, meow! Mewwwww!" Gatomon lets out.

"All right, that's enough, you stupid cat!" Uzi said to him annoyed.

Gatomon then snaps out of it and jumps off the crown embarrassed. "Oh, um, yeah…Forgive me for displaying such an insolent sight in front of a lady…"

"You were completely out of character too." Alexis points out. "What was that about?"

"I couldn't stop it either…To think I'd be drawn to human desires this much…" Gatomon admits. Then excited asked "Doesn't that prove that I'm human?!"

"How should we know?!" Uzi asked.

"A-Anyway, you guys need to carry it!" Gatomon said deciding time was of the essence.

"All you do is bark orders…" Uzi said annoyed as she approaches the crown. "Still that was easier that I thought! I thought for sure there'd be some insane trap or something."

"Don't jinx it Circuit" Aqua told her as she approaches the crown.

"His Palace will disappear if we take this back, right?" Alexis asked approaching the crown. "And Gaston will change too…"

"That should be the case." Gatomon said nodding.

"Good. Now's out chance then." Uzi said nodding.

Soon the two humans and drone girl lift up the crown holding it but it was heavier then it looked.

"It's heavy…" Alexis said straining.

"To think it'd go so well…I've even found three Persona-users in the process…" Gatomon said to himself. He then said to Aqua "My judgement was correct. I made the right choice in making a deal with you! Nyahaha!"

Aqua smiles as she feels her bond with Gatomon deepen and the Magician card gets a second star. With that the four make their way back to the throne room.

Short chapter I know but I want the boss fight to be in it's own chapter I feel.
