The Goddess
In the early morning, the room of the Goddess Ishtar was silent sans for one sound.
The bed creaked as two bodies rhythmically slammed against each other.
Ishtar was on her hands and knees, smiling while gritting her teeth to keep her moans contained. Then she decided to freely enough what she was feeling, and let it all out.
"Ah~ ah~ ah~ ah~, yes, yes, yes, yes, that's it! More~!" She cried out as her lover had been consistently hitting that special spot in her core for the past few minutes.
The feel of pressure made by his hands around her waist were strong, and would likely leave a bruise but she didn't care. It was worth it.
As if in response to her own arousal, her lover speed up, thrusting faster and harder at her g-spot. She was about to explode from the ecstasy, as all her nerves were getting set to fire her climax.
"Yes~, yes~, yes, yes, yes, yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes!"
Then the man grabbed Ishtar's shoulders, pull her to him, forcing her to stand on her knees. She cried out in delight as he grabbed her neck, putting enough pressure to make her feel it, and know he could have increase it, while his other hand played with her clit.
Ishtar growled then screamed in pleasure as the rough treatment was ploughing her straight toward sweet release. The feel of his body against her own, the possessive hand on her neck, his desperate fucking, all of it made her imagine her lover desiring nothing but her. Wanting to make her his and his alone. And in that moment, unvoiced, she would give herself fully if he demanded.
A final slam of their hips, and she felt his cock station near the entrance of her cervix. Her orgasm broke through the final barrier of her body and mind, and Ishtar screamed her delight, as raw ecstatic pleasure shot through her, just as her lover's cum did in her. Pumping shot after shot of semen that pushed through into her sacred room.
Ishtar closed her eyes and just took in this moment of warmth, ecstasy and contentment.
Only for it to end as her lover let go of her, causing her to fall on the bed, unable to hold herself up. Hitting the bed, brought her back to the world, as she panted, sighed, feeling the afterglow engulf her, in coziness.
She felt the other body in the room, fall down, laying next to her. Ishtar turned, easily moving his arm to rest on his shoulder, while he half hugged her, reflexively holding her body against his own.
Ishtar looked at her lover's face and all her good mood evaporated, as she saw Michael's dull charmed eyes staring at the ceiling.
She closed her eyes, now huffing in quiet irritation. She tried to just enough the situation. Being here in bed with her personal lover and Familia Captain, unconcerned with anything. Ishtar could just lay there, and ignore the world for a few hours.
Yet before she noticed she had opened and closed her mouth a few times. A question she had asked hundreds of times before on her lips. She new the answer. It never changed.
She opened her eyes, to look at the impassive face of Michael Chaser, and asked it anyways.
"Say, how about we go another round, but this time we do it without any Charm?"
Her inebriated lover took a visibly deep breath, closing his eyes...
And when he opened them, she was met with the harsh aware stare of her Gilgamesh.
"You know," Michael began, slightly tilting his head toward her. "The afterglow is also part of the experience. You're kind ruining the whole thing by bringing that up, Ishtar."
Michael sat up, and turned away, letting his feet land on the floor, but didn't stand up.
With his wide muscled, scared back to her, Ishtar started talking, as it made it easier for her not to meet those eyes devoid of love.
"I mean, it's just to spice things up, every once in a while." She said quickly, before her Captain left all together, as he usually did after their alone time.
"Since when have we ever done that?" Michael said in a sarcastic tone, as he looked back showing only half his face. His lop-sided smile held only annoyance and a hint of disgust.
"...There was that one time-"
"Ishtar." Michael's cutting tone halted her.
Ishtar bite back a flinch, as she knew she poke a wound that till this day was still raw.
"I just want you to look at me." Yet she kept going. Since he didn't walk out and leave, that meant he would at least entertain listening to her. "Even if it's like back then. Just...look at me. See me. Please Michael."
This time she tried being honest. Michael more or less would would see through any of her honeyed words, but she saw how those who spoke with sincerity would hold his attention. She had hope. That this time it might work right.
"'See you'?" Michael tone sent a shiver through her. He was still lightly smiling, but his eyes held a cruel light dancing within them. "Tell me, Ishtar, what do you see when you look at me?"
He turned, half sitting on the bed, but now actually giving her his attention. Joy jumped in her chest. It was working! She knew this could hurt her, but he was looking at her.
"Greatness. A red and black sun of blood and poison, poised against our enemies, to incinerate them with precision and overwhelming power. A point of light and brightness within, a warm hearth flame to your heart." For me. The words went unsaid.
Ishtar spoke with passion, as she held a hand against her own heart, feeling it beating in rhythm with the pulsing light fire in Michael's soul. Sending a warm feeling through out her body.
"Do you know what I see in you?" He asked, and dread poked at her blanket of joy. Like a single needle of ink, marring a beautiful work of art.
"Tell me," she said longingly.
"I see that black poison you speak of. That tainted on my soul, that I point at my enemies." Coldness started to replace the warmth in her chest. "After all, you're the source of it. Oh sure," he said cutting off any argument she had, before she could make them. "I always had darkness within me. I knew that pretty well, but you..." He moved toward her, held out a hand and cupped her face.
"Michael..." She knew what was coming. What he would say next but she didn't move, or push away his hand.
"You nurture it. Like someone intentionally growing weeds in a healthy garden. You're a poison that infects others close to you, and you act like that's something to be proud of." He smiled with a huff. There was no warmth in that expression.
"Shut up." She bit back, gritting and baring her teeth. She tried not to pay attention to her watering eyes. "What I nurtured was glory. All of Orario bows to your might because of me! Everyone is awed by your power because of me!"
"And you think I give a shit about anyone's opinion?" Michael smiled with barred teeth back. "Do you think glory at all matters to me?"
She knew it didn't, but thought he was just stubbornly naive even after all this time. Wealth. Fame. Glory. He never uses them as anything more than a means. Why can't he realize that the world would be his if he just moved to take it?
"Your women." She said, referencing all the Amazons and members of the Familia infatuated with him. "You care about them."
"I care about all of my Familia. Not just the women side. Also they aren't 'my' women." His lips curled into annoyance, and he removed his hand from her cheek. Ishtar dislike missing that warmth.
"They are yours, even if you don't acknowledge it. They want to be and declared it as such." She said back.
Michael looked like he was about to argue, before he sigh and shook his head.
"That's the problem, you know." His eyes for a moment, were a shine soft.
"What is?" Ishtar asked.
"That if something exists, be it wealth, women, men, it must be made yours. Worse, you apply that same thinking to me and others thinking we would share it. And if not...do I have to remind you of Phryne?"
"No Amazoness should be that pitiful or weak-willed." Ishtar spat out. "I simply guided her to what would give her strength."
"By telling her that 'only power matters and you can do anything you want because you have that power'?" Michael sat back, one leg on the floor. Ishtar felt an ache at him pulling away.
"It's the reason why anyone respects you." She said back. "That they listen to you, follow you."
"That you completely believe that is part of the problem." He said back softly, something akin to regret at unfulfilled hopes entering his eyes, before they hardened. A sadistic shined in his eyes and Michael smiled. "See?" He said throwing her off. "Just a few moments, and you show off who you truly are. Someone vile and merciless. You try anything and everything to possess what you want. And that's how everyone else is like in your eyes, right?" Michael fully turned away and stood up.
"Isn't that what you do, you hypocrite!?" Ishtar shouted, half moving after him. "You use all of your power to gain control over this city, and push down Freya. Just like me! So how dare you look down on me for being the same?" Her words were angry, yet in her aching heart, she just wish he would turn and look at her. That he would accept her.
"Everything I do, is to protect this Familia, because I care about the people in it." He looked back toward her, his irritation visible. "I do hate the Freya Familia and I will keep fighting back against them, but after all these years, that bitch and her group are secondary to the well being of everyone here. That you can't see that..." He shook his head and looked away. "In the end, there isn't a drop of compassion or empath in that black heart of yours. You care about no one beyond what they can give you. Are you really that surprised that I don't want to make love to you? That I don't want to see you? I mean," Michael let out a sharp laugh. "If I'm getting my rocks off, why would I want to look at something that ugly."
"You come to me!" Ishtar shouted, her voice a mix of rage and sadness. "You desire me!"
"Yeah," Michael raised his arms in a shrug, as he said in a jovial voice. "Because you're my drug." Then his voice went low. "And that's all you are. Something to use for my satisfaction and throw away." Michael began heading to the door. A simply pair of pants materializing around his waist and legs. He wanted to leave so much, he didn't want to bother collecting his clothes. "Be happy Ishar, even without your charm, you still poison everything around you." He reached the door and opened it. "Be happy," he looked back one last time. "I am exactly what you wanted, someone that takes till there is nothing left to give."
"I could give you my love." Ishtar cried out, tears now painting her face.
Had Michael turn around, he might have even been surprised at the raw sincerity and need she showed.
"You never had any to begin with."
In a fit of rage, Ishtar grabbed the nearest thing, something from the nightstand-a vase, jewelry box, lamp-she didn't acknowledge or care about, and threw it at him.
It hit the door as it closed and shattered to pieces.
In that moment, she hated Michael Chaser.
She hated, hated, hated, hated him.
For insulting her, for belittling her, for looking down upon her like trash, and making her feel weak.
Ishtar hated him. In the true moments between them, he always hurt her.
...So why does she still long for him to love her?
"What is this I hear about you fighting Loki's Sword Princess?" Ishtar asked after hearing about the incident.
"Is that what they are calling her?" Michael asked nonchalantly, while reading reports on their finances, and guild quests to see which he would allow his Familia to accept.
In a way it annoyed her how Michael wasn't fazed by her divine lounge, where music was played and women danced for her entertainment, or high paying guests.
Yet, it was a bit of a game between them, where Michael would just keep working when she wanted to talk to him, and her trying to distract him. Ishtar would even make plans with the Amazons who want to get his attention, to see if something they would do would succeed.
It was funny to her when she does manage to throw Michael off his cool, like that time one of the Amazons cried out "daddy~" and jumped on his lap. Many other followed her example. All the Amazons that joined in on this act, later suffered some terrifying training rounds, but in Ishtar's opinion the look on Michael's face was worth it.
"There was some of opposition but Loki forced that Alias through. I guess she wanted the best for her new favorite." Ishtar smirked. "Do you think her other children feel jealous for Loki's obvious bias? Maybe I should start doing that too? What's the name of the new Amazoness following after 'daddy~'? Luta? Tumbi? Tina?"
"Lena." Michael said, while rolling his eyes. He really wanted to work in silence, but doing paperwork in Ishtar's lounge when she called for him, was a small price to pay, so she doesn't turn his own personal office into a strip club. "As for Wallenstein, a year ago she came to me wanting a match after she joined the Loki Familia. I told her to come back once she reached Level 2. Kinda surprised that it only took her one year."
"Really? You manage that with my other children all the time." Ishtar commented.
"My own personal training is focused and extremely difficult. Then I make it personally challenging once I get a feel for my students. Also I have Fuyuki to aid in that." Michael said back in a matter-of-fact tone. Ishtar supposed his teaching enhancing Skill is a major contributor to his success in raising her adventurers.
Michael's training was infamous for how harsh it was, but also how rewarding. It would be insane for any other adventurer or Familia to repeat it, and only the idiots with a 'get-Level-Up-quick-scheme' mentality would try it, only to suffer horribly. However, many Familia in Orario struggled to even approach the top two Familia. Or rather, it was Top Three, as it was an open secret that the Ishtar Familia stood equal to Loki and Freya.
Most Familias knew better than to try Michael's harsh training of putting their adventurers through constant life and death situations till they Leveled Up. Those who did would eventually lose too many adventurers and be disbanded. The wiser ones took the traditional method of making their adventurers stronger by training and dungeon diving with parties.
Only those as rich and large as Loki's would use constant training expeditions to train up their younger members. As for Freya's Familia, things changed within it's structure ever since the Bloodrage Fall incident. The event that came at the end of the exile attempt on Hera and Zeus Familias.
Things within the Freya Familia became tense as trained and fought frantically, against each other, against the dungeon all to grow stronger. It became a bit of a joke within Orario that entering the Freya Familia was equal to willingly entering a meat grinder. Yet hundreds would still do so for Freya's charm and beauty. The majority would die, and those left would rise up to being First Class Adventurers in due time. It had gotten to the point that the Freya Familia would be called "Orario's Telskyura" behind hushed whisperers.
"I see," Ishtar said. "So Loki's child simply attracted to your power in raising adventurers through the ranks? Hmm," she placed a finger under her chin. "She does have a cute face, and would likely have that stoic allure once she grew up. Maybe you should get her on our side?" Ishtar smirked.
"I'm not seducing a child, Ishtar." Michael said without even looking up from the papers in front of him.
"You don't have to take her until she's of an age you like." Ishtar whined.
"More importantly," he continued, not even bothering to acknowledge her words. "I'm not pissing off Loki, and making her pole jump over her neutrality, to siding with Freya." Michael said pointedly, while giving Ishtar an exasperated look.
"Tsk, fine." Ishtar looked away, resting her head on the couch's back.
Later on, Ishtar had heard that Michael and the Sword Princess fought twice before they stopped fighting each other when they meet in the Dungeon.
The Love Goddess figured Loki finally came down on her favorite child about her actions, so as to maintain her neutrality.
A year later, Ais Wallenstein had reached Level 4.
Haruhime Sanjouno was a goldmine of a find.
Ishtar couldn't believe that she would stumble upon another adventurer that had a Level Up spell like Michael's.
Not only that, but the spells of both her Captain and the Renard could stack, allowing them to make someone fight with a strength of three Levels higher (if Michael were to use the stronger version of his Level Up spell).
The girl was definitely invaluable, and Ishtar snatched her up right away. It was one of her best slave purchases.
As usual, Michael assigned himself to look after the girl, specially as she was a Level 1. The "cold" war with the Freya Familia meant that no one in the Ishtar Familia could afford to head to the Dungeon alone unless they were Level 6. Level 3s need to be in a group of six minimum, with a Level 5 to supervise. Level 1s and 2s are not allowed anywhere in the Dungeon without Michael's supervision.
At least things weren't as bad as when the ambushes happened outside the Dungeon.
In a way, Ishtar was grateful for the Freya adventurer idiot, that desecrated that mortal woman, Michael once married, as it caused Freya to instantly back off, and threw that adventurer. Apparently the Norse Love Goddess considered the action a step too far, and that the memories of the dead should be respected.
Ishtar thought, it was almost a shame Freya acted "reasonably" when that happened, followed by the Guild and Ouranos finally stepping to end the feud between the two Familias. At least on the surface.
Ishtar annoyed at Freya's smart move, as she was sure that had her rival done nothing, or congratulated that adventurer, Orario would have been engulfed in war, and her Familia would finally stand at the top after the slaughter.
The only reason why that doesn't happen, was Michael caring too much about each and every member of her Familia. He didn't want to risk them in war, but prepared them for it.
In fact...
"I'm sorry. I'm not so talented at battle, Lord Chaser." Haruhime panted as she held onto her naginata, a glaive-like weapon used in the Far East.
"I told you, it's just Michael. I'll even accept Captain if you must be formal, but no 'Lord' stuff." Michael's eyes were still their normal harsh self, but their was a gentleness and mirth to his tone and actions. "Also talent isn't a metric for how good you are or can become. It's just your starting point and how quickly you advance. Far more important than talent is skill, and that, you build by persistence." He instructed, as he took a stance with a copy of the Renard's weapon. "Now once again, take your stance. Breathe and come at me."
"Y-yes! Lo-I mean, C-Captain." Haruhime stuttered as she followed his commands.
Michael's lips twitched upward, holding back a smile at the fox girl's cute demeanor.
Ishtar found herself scowling in irritation. Michael trained everyone when they first joined the Familia. Yet he was more careful with Haruhime than his previous students. True, most of those students were Amazonesses who were naturally tougher and stronger, but to her eyes, he acted far kinder with the young Renard girl.
Ishtar turned away, frowning and clicking her tongue.
"So did the recruitment of those Hiryute sisters go well?" Ishtar asked, as her Captain returned from his latest outing. By his side were Aisha and Samira who looked like they were trying to hold back on laughing.
"No. I test their strength, they were both Level 3." Michael said dismissively, with a slight bit of disappointment in his voice.
Given the cold war with the Freya Familia, when it came to recruiting, the Ishtar Familia now only took those who were Level 4 or higher. Michael, the Executives and those designated as trainers in the Ishtar Familia had their hands full with the current number of adventurers to raise up. Those who were Level 4 weren't as much of a concern as they could join any group (Dungeon diving or training) without too much worry, if they were ambushed by the Freya Familia.
Many times Ishtar wanted to go on the offensive, and attack the Freya Familia, but Michael forced her to calm down and hold back. The reason being that Freya would usually try not to be overly aggressive with her Familia's attacks on Ishtar, lest Michael himself acted against her.
The last time the Freya Familia pushed too far, Michael made a trap for them, and seal himself in a Dungeon room with some of the high Level members of the Freya Familia. Freya needed years to recuperate that loss.
It's why there wasn't any active fighting within the Dungeon between the two Familias nowadays. Only attacks of opportunity. This the buddy system Michael made for the Ishtar Adventurers.
In a way, Ishtar was glad for Freya viciousness. Ishtar smiled whenever she remembered why the Freya Adventurers were in a frenzy when it came to her Familia or Michael.
After Michael decimated Ottar in battle, breaking his body and cutting one of his arms. Michael walked up to Freya and with the view of the downed Ottar and some of Freya's weaker Adventurers that were helpless to intervene, he cut the Love Godddess's right cheek.
It wasn't a damaging attack. It wasn't harmful or long lasting. It wasn't even painful. It was just a slight cut that would heal within a few days. With even a simple potion, there wouldn't even be a scar. It was nothing but cosmetic wound.
Yet it was a statement to all the Freya Adventurers.
You are weak. You couldn't protect your Goddess.
That day Freya saw all her beloved Adventurers, especially her most cherished Ottar, souls darken with a sickening color. Hate filled their hearts, and partially overshadowed their love for her. All of it focused on Michael Chaser.
With such a small act, he corrupted their souls and made Freya watch.
Is it any wonder the Norse Love Goddess despised the Gilgamesh's existence?
Ishtar smirked at the memory.
"So you didn't recruit them?" Ishtar asked once more.
"Yeah," Michael looked up from a report he was reading, giving her a confused look.
Michael's helpers continued to hold back their laughter. Ishtar leaned to the side, and saw the Hiryute sister standing behind her Captain, like ducklings following their mother.
"Are you sure~?" Ishtar said teasingly.
"Yes, I'm sure. I didn't even fight them. Just let them throw a hit at me to see where they are at, then left. Pretty sure that makes me a 'coward' in Amazon manners, or whatever. They should have joined the Loki Familia by now." Michael explained dismissively, then noticed the amusement on his Goddess's face.
Turning around, he saw the excited Tiona smiling, and the annoyed Tione frowning.
"Let's continue our match. Fight me!" Tiona said cheerfully, even jumping up and pumping her fist in the air.
"I just followed her here, because Tiona is here, and we're leaving after kicking your ass." Said the exasperated Tione.
Michael tried to be mature and dissuade them from fighting him and just go to another Familia.
The talk ended with both Hiryute sisters buried in opposing walls, when Michael tried to slap their attack aside, and used too much strength.
The Hiryute sisters joined the Ishtar Familia later that day.
Meeting with Soma was a surprisingly easy affair. After all, making an alliance with the ruler of the Entertainment District was just plain logical.
What goes better with the company of a beautiful women than a good drink.
Although Ishtar found it odd that Soma would only agree to even start talks, once she and her Captain had a try of his namesaked wine.
"Hmm~," Ishtar moaned as she drank her one shot cup.
The taste was as exquisite and jovial as she remember in Heaven, even if it was missing that feel from the divinely perfected creation. However, even while done by technically moral hands, it was still the completed version of Soma. She can feel the buzz waver her mind slighty, but with a bit of will pushed through it, to talk about the two Familias' alliance.
She spared a glance to the side to see what Michael's reaction to the divine wine would be. Had it been anyone else, she would have been worried that they're mind would be overwhelmed by the Soma. From the look on Soma's Captain, he was anticipating her own Captain drinking the wine.
Michael downed the Soma in one turn, just wanting to get it over with. The second he gulped it, he paused, as the taste and feel of the wine hit him, by surprise. He closed his eyes, and seem to sway for a second, to the elation of Zanis Lustra, who couldn't keep this thoughts out of his face.
Did he honestly think he could control Michael, or her Familia through the Soma?
The moment passed, and Michael shook his head, and opened his eyes, the usual harshness to them now held a cold rage, kept under lid.
Michael slammed the cup facing down, then raised a hand to stop anyone from talking.
"Aisha, Tammuz." He addressed the Familia Vice Captain and one of the Top Executive. "My order as Captain, this goes to everyone in the Ishtar Familia. No one is allowed to drink or so much as taste Soma wine unless they have the Abnormal Resistance Development Ability at Rank B. At minimum."
"Huh!?" Visible shock was seen on Zanis's face.
"As you command, Captain." Aisha said with a small nod.
"It will be done, Michael." Tammuz gave a small bow.
"W-Wait now Gilgamesh, there is not need to restrict your Familia like that. With our alliance sharing our Soma is gesture to strengthen our bonds-"
"Do not." Michael voice was calm, but the strict firm tone, underlaid with a slight killing intent, shut down anything the Soma Captain wanted to say. "Dictate to me. How I run my Familia. Do you understand?"
Zanis couldn't speak. His face was pale and he started to sweat from terror. He tried to nodded in a firm manner to at least have a show of control, but ended up looking like a bobble head.
Ishtar hide back a smirk at the display, and settle for a calm smile. She couldn't stop her nipples from getting hard though. She always felt a shiver at seeing her Michael act like that. So powerful. So dominating. He speaks and others obey. It's a shame that he holds back this side of himself. Thankfully, Orario is filled with people who provide the opportunity for this darkness to show itself a little.
Had Zanis showed anything but subservience he likely would have been killed then and there. Michael had no patience for possible near future threats.
Shame. Ishtar thought. I wonder how long it will be before Michael kills this overly ambitious fool?
"Of course," Michael continued. "Should we actually make this alliance, I expect that none of the Soma Familia would try or even offer so much as a drop of Soma to the members of my Familia. You will relay that to all your subordinates, won't you?" Michael smiled politely.
"Y-yes, yes, of course. Obviously. We want the best working relationship between our Familias." Zanis said back, trying to appear casual, yet the fear was still running within him.
In his mind, Zanis was sacred as Michael reputation didn't seem exaggerated, yet a part of him shouted in anger, at how nothing was going as he predicted, or within his control. It felt like, if he didn't agree with the Gilgamesh, he would die. He hated how weak he felt.
Zanis was determined to quietly bind his time, to slowly take control of both Familias. Someone as powerful as Michael would surely dismiss Zanis, and that would be the Gilgamesh's downfall.
Michael had turned his attention back to Soma, the God now listening to Michael eagerly. He was joyful and attentive at speaking with someone who so quickly overcame his wine.
Ishtar watched all of this happen, quietly enjoying the show.
Zanis Lustra couldn't breathe. Naturally such a act was quite difficult with a hand struck through his chest, and holding his heart.
"I warned you." Were Michael's simple words, before he ripped his hand out, holding Zanis's beating heart.
Blood gushed out of the Soma Captain's chest. His corpse fell to the ground, dirtying the grounds of Belit Babili with his blood.
"Y-Y-You," one of the Soma member shouted and pointed from when they fell on their ass in shock at Michael's casual murder.
The Soma Familia had moved their headquarter to be closer to Ishtar's home. For about a month the two Familia worked in relative peace but with the occasional tense relation.
Some of the Ishtar Familia member whined about not being allowed to taste the Soma, except under Michael's impossible condition, but easily followed through. He was their Captain, and they trusted him completely. The Ishtar Familia bought only the Soma failures, having exclusive rights to it, and would pay up for half of the required materials Soma needed for his drinks.
The Soma Familia however, caused things to be a bit tense, as they have gotten handsy with the prostitutes. While Michael didn't care if member of the two Familias fucked as long as the two members were in a relationship that was fine. Outside of that, it would just be normal business, and they would have to pay.
The Soma members thought they had access to the girls, due to the partnership, and were easily corrected. Those, the girls rebuffed the advances of, were easily knocked out, and might have had a hand or two crushed as a warning.
Then one of the Soma members that tried to befriend the young Lena Tally, was caught having slipped her some of the failure Soma, in some cake he said he bought her.
Michael didn't bother getting an explanation, beyond getting the word that Zanis promised him something, before he killed that adventurer, and then went to confront Zanis. Finding him in the hall, in the middle of the Belit Babili, having brought Soma with him to talk to Ishtar to renegotiation some of the details of their contract.
Michael didn't even paused before plunging his hand through Zanis's chest.
Some of the Soma members nearby fell from the shock. Other cried out about this violent unprovoked act, and drew their weapons. The Soma members however in the middle of Ishtar's home, surrounded by dozens of Amazons, whose lowest Level was three.
"You kill him. Holy shit, why? You killed him!"
"What the fuck? What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"You can't think you can just do that! You won't get away with this. You can't get away with this. The Guild will have all your asses."
And many other shouts and threats were thrown around, once the shock of what happened, pass over the Soma adventurers.
"Michael, I believe there is a reason for this?" Ishtar calmly asked. A slight smirk on her face.
Soma oddly enough just stared at Michael with a brief curiosity at what's happening, seemingly unperturbed by his Captain's death.
"One of Zanis's lackeys got one of our members, Lena Tally to ingest some Soma. I believe I gave a warning on what happens if that happened." Michael said, staring down everyone of the Soma Familia present.
"Y-You're just making things up!"
"You don't have any evidence. Where's your proof?" One of the Soma adventurers shouted, having gotten their spine back. Some Raccoon person.
A greatsword materialized over Michael's shoulder, and was launched at sonic speeds, burying itself within the Raccoon guy and the floor.
Some of the Soma members screamed and tried to run, only for the Berbera to throw them back into the center of the hall.
Silence fell again on the Ishtar halls, and the namesaked Goddess felt herself get wet.
"You seem to be under some kind of impression that this is a court of law." Michael said.
"T-The Guild-" One of the coherent Soma member spoke.
"Guild, huh." Michael said with some amusement, shutting that adventurer down. The Ishtar Captain turned to the God Soma who was just observing everything so far. "Lord Soma, out of curiosity...do you actually need a Familia to make your wine?"
The Soma members paled, some even pissing themselves as they started to realize the situation they were in.
"Hmm, not really." Soma said casually, and in doing so condemned all his adventurers.
"Aisha, and to everyone here," Michael spoke addressing his Familia. "Gather all the Soma Adventurers within Orario and come back here."
The Berbera moved, obeying their Captain. The Soma member found themselves paralyzed, unable to move. Slender rapier-like swords were stabbed in their shadows.
Within a very tense two hours, the Ishtar adventurers gathered and returned with all the Soma members. In that time Ishtar discussed with Soma his new winery, that would be staffed and operated as he wished, with some conditions.
Like Soma not giving his products to any of Ishtar's children to drink. That he would sell exclusively to the Ishtar Familia. Michael interjected to add that while they would buy all the Soma failures, they only have first purchase rights to a set amount on the completed Soma, and that the God had the right to do whatever he wanted with the rest. Ishtar wasn't happy but relented on the issue.
"Here's how's this is gonna go." Michael said calmly, once both Familias were now fully present. "For those of you that want to leave the Soma Familia, get down on the ground and put your hands on our head. Congratulations, you get to leave today as free men and women. Free of charge." Michael gave a slow clap, as some hesitate Soma members did just that. "To everyone else, you are no longer allowed to consume Soma." Naturally a lot of shouts and rejections were cried out. "Please, please, everyone" Michael removed the Black Keys holding the paralyzed Soma members. "Step forward and calmly air your grievances."
The remaining Soma adventurers who were standing, walked forward. Others stood in place or tried to scurry away. Without a word, the Amazons acted on Michael's will and dash forward.
The Soma Familia was slaughtered down to the man. Any that hadn't surrendered at the beginning were cut down, even the ones that tried to surrender then, or tried to act like they were on the ground the whole time. Some Michael went out of his way to kill because he could see their deceptive nature.
In the end, there were none of the Soma Familia left. Either killed or disowned.
Ishtar was biting her lips watching the carnage. It was these moments that she truly loved about Michael. The moments were he showed everyone why they do not fuck with her or her Familia.
I don't care if he would only do me Charmed. I'm riding him tonight all the way till morning.
"What will you do when the Guild comes for this?" One of the ex-Soma members asked, a Pallum, gesturing to the bloodied hall.
"The Guild needs someone complaining to start an investigation." Michael explained. "Whose gonna be that 'someone'?" He said, looking to all the ex-Soma adventurers left.
None said anything. They finally left the wine addicting Familia behind. All were glad to be free, some fine with their situation as long as they don't ingest Soma again. Some struggling with their inner demons, but glad for the opportunity they had now.
Ultimately, the Soma Familia was disbanded, and the Soma Moon Winery opened up next to Belit Babili. That was the official story and it was accepted.
