Magic, Baby! Magic! (NasuFate - Artoria Pendragon SI Chapter 1)
Let me tell of you about reincarnation.
First let start with the good things. You're alive again. Woah, neat!
Regardless of what sex you had before, you can easily adjust to the new one because you would be born with it. Biology rules. Or maybe that's just me.
But really being reborn as a girl didn't turn out as complicated or confusing as I could have figured. So guy in a girl's body? Not a problem. It's more like a self in a body that's female.
Now being reborn in fucking medieval times? That's a big problem! Don't even get me started on bathrooms, toilets and plumbing.
Being reborn as a girl in the fucking medieval times? Oh boy, I can already see the diseases and dying from childbirth.
No, wait. I would get diseases even as a boy. I'm fucked either way!
Okay, enough about gross stuff, or mortality, or life expectancy, that's just everyday life. Fine, as a girl in medieval times I can still survive and live a comfortable life by just working hard, and not get into fights or trouble. Find the least asshole-ish husband and have some kids who survive to adulthood. Easy enough.
Except wait, I'm suppose to pretend a boy?
I'm the secret heir of the late king?
...Wow, this is starting to sound like some otome game. Would I be the villainess or the heroine?
No wait, I'm secretly a girl. Which means I would be the hidden heroine in a gal game. Am I going to go to some noble academy where I meet a bunch of bishounens?
...I miss anime. I miss video game and the internet all together.
Uncle Ector keeps telling me I'm smart and should apply myself to my studies for when I become the future king, and well...
Yeah, things come easy to me because I am actually an adult in a child's brain. If I focus I can learn quick, but I just can't bring myself to be motivated when, well, life is just exhausting. Training, hunting for food-not because we can't buy any, but because Uncle Ector says it's good practice-washing, taking care of the horses, etc. etc.
It's just too much work and effort. Yeah, I am whining, but it's because this life is just so dull and tiring. God, I'm likely gonna die in a war or something. Should I just throw away all morals and ethics when I'm king and get a harem? That's something you can do in the-what was it? 4th? 5th? 6th century?
No wait, I'm a chick. Which means no dick. Sad.
Should I make a yuri harem anyways? Or secretly a reverse harem!?
And I'm thinking of anime and game again. I'm just making myself sad like this.
I should really just accept that despite the reincarnation stuff, this world is just a mundane world with nothing special. This is just like any normal reality, with normal everyday stuff. Honestly a king that was secretly a woman, wouldn't be the strangest thing in history. Wonder how long the ruse with go?
Meh, anyways today I meet a new teacher for fighting and stuff. Not sure why-No, I know. It's because Uncle Ector is busy, Kay can't teach for shit, and Uncle Ector only has time for the knight manners and politics subjects.
"Hello, I'm Merlin, the Magus of Flowers and starting from today I will be your tutor." Merlin said with a flourish as he summons a field of flowers from sand.
I raised an eyebrow at the stage magician.
"Riiiight, let me guess, you'll teach me 'magic'." I asked with obvious skepticism.
"It's called 'Magecraft', and that's a lot of doubt toward your father's court mage." Merlin asked neutrally, not really scolding, but just curious.
"Just..." I rolled my eyes and sighed. Great, con-artist.. "Let's just get this over with. I hope you're actually as good as Uncle Ector at using the sword, rather than this," I gesture to the flowers at our feet. "Magic show thing."
Merlin was about to say something, then looked at me and tilted his head.
"Ignite." He pointed his fancy staff at a nearby tree and launched a fucking flamethrower at it!
"Fuck yeah! Teach me magic, Wizard Bro!" I shouted, unable to keep the wide smile off my face. Oh my god! Magic is real, life is so beautiful!
"Huh, a bit different than what I saw, but I like the enthusiasm." Merlin grinned.
"Goddamnit." Uncle Ector facepalmed. "Of all the things for her to get motivated about, it had to be this?"
