But I Didn't Want Adventure! (NasuFate SI Chapter 5)

The sound of explosion, gun fire and cowboy shouts watched over me, as they filled the area.

I couldn't think of the battle next to me, or the dangers of the still present vampires occupied with the new arrivals.

My entire focus, my whole world zoomed in and narrowed on one single point.

"Ha...it...doesn't...look...that bad...right?" Marjutteta smiled through the blood and pain. "My dress...I mean." She tried to joke. Tried to laugh. It only made her cough and feel more pain. Her dress was ripped up and dirtied by her blood a bit.

Her chest however was ripped open. From collarbone down to her ribcage.

I saw two gems on her belt glowing. One red and blue. Life and Healing, I think. My mind felt too fizzled.

I felt someone land next to us. A startled look showed it was the nun.

"Who..." I asked.

"Tsk, slippery bitch. Ma shots should've opened her up like a piƱyata, but all it's doing is slapping her around." Said the nun, as she looked at us from her side eye. "Ava Schopenhauer, Church's Executor. Sorry bout yer friend."

"To dare 'slap me around' as you say, is a grieve offense. One you will certainly pay for." Said the old vampiress, before looking at me with a mock kind smile. "Aww, don't looked so sad. Death isn't the end after all."

I blinked at the wording, before my eyes widened. I looked back at Marge's wound more closely only to see teeth marks near her neck, where the wound began.

"Yeah, the unholy whore does weird angles with space." Said Ava the nun. "Sorry but the girl's a goner. No reason to remember her worse."

It took me a moment to notice Ava pointing her gun at Marge's head.

Thub-dub.

"No, wait!"

BANG!

"...Well that's a unexpected." The old vampiress behind me, sounding amused at surprise development to her favorite TV drama.

Thub-dub.

The emerald light had pulsed with violant shake within me.

"Fuk me, are yee for real!?" Ava said slowly.

My arm was extended, a bullet glowing and smoking in my hand.

"Fuck. Off. I can. Fix. This." I growled out at the nun.

Thub-dub. Thub-dub.

The nun between me and Marge for a second. "Well, if ya wanna do it yourself, ya shouldn't have just said so." She focused on the old vampiress. "I'll take care of the ol-"

"Oh, I'm afraid that's quite enough." The Dead Apostle said with an exasperated smile, as space suddenly felt dense again.

The nun buckled under the new gravity. I found myself falling on top of Marge, and push to stay above her, and not fall onto her wound.

"M-Michael...It's okay..." Marge said slowly. Panting through each word to push them out. "I...made...preparations to...take responsibility...should this...trip...prove fatal." My eyes widened at her words. "You won't be...seen at fault."

Thub-dub. Thub-dub. Thub-dub.

Inside my mind a dam broke, that I didn't care to hold back anymore.

It was as if I had been viewing everything from an out of body experience till now.

The world snapped into focus, as the emerald flame within me roared, spun and gained momentum.

I pointed my arm behind me.

"GAAH!" The old vampiress cried out as she slammed into the ground. The oppressive weight was gone. All that gravity from dense space was shifted to the vampiress.

Her powers involved space, likely stretching, compressing and twisting it too, which would explain her movement speed, and how she bite Marge when she shouldn't have.

"Whadda waiting for? Finish her." I said to Ava, who quickly got her bearings.

"Don't know how you did that, but I owe ya one." She smirked as she holstered her machine guns, into the giant holders on her back waist, she grabbed her sword which had a gun handle with the hilt for some reason. "'The LORD is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear?'" Ava began praying.

"As if I can't control my own pow-AAAGH!" She tried to shift space again, but I just Displaced all effects to empowering the one already on her.

"'The LORD is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me.'" The blade started glowing, the space between hilt and sheath blazing with light.

The vampiress kept trying different way to control her own power again, not thinking of the one way, that would cancel out the power I Displaced on her and kept active. Just stop her ability. Thankfully her pride didn't let her consider that.

The mafia Dead Apostle lady screamed in an inhumane voice. Gone was the visage of class and nobility.

BANG! SHATTER!

Ava moved and pulled the trigger at once. It's like she teleported behind the Dead Apostle. Or rather cut and slashed through the whole space with the Dead Apostle in it.

"'They will stumble and fall.'" Ava finished and sheathed her katana with a click.

"You...you...mockery of...purity..." The old vampiress groaned out as she evaporated into ashes.

"Fuk you, bitch. I'mma virgin maiden." Ava bit back.

Before we could celebrate the air got heavy for some reason, becoming difficult to breath.

"I didn't think you would actually manage to slay old Angerta like that." Said a voice from all around us. It was as if the very wind was alive. "I suppose I would have to step in, me, Vaalis Galebringer. Be honored, for I am the strongest of Lady Rita's children, yet the time for this battle has come to an-"

"Shut. Up." I growled out.

The stretched my hand to the side and focused. If he transformed into the wind, then all that I'm touching is him. Then he is within my range of Self.

The vampire's body reformed with my hand around his neck, as I Displace his power away, and force his body to be solid again.

"Gah, you, how?" He struggled for a second.

"Ava!" I shouted.

BANG!

The Dead Apostle's head splattered in front of me, as I dropped the headless body away from me.

"Hehe," I looked back to Marge in a hurry to see her smiling. "So...you can...do it, if you try."

"Oi," Ava said as she came next to me again. The only sound left, was the fight between the vampire dragon, and the sword exploding dude. I didn't have time to look and see how he was doing. "Thanks for the help." She said. "But seriously," she looked at Marge. "S'ry if I sound like a dick, but your girl ain't got long now."

"Michael," Marge looked at me pleadingly. Likely not wanting to voice her request.

"No!" I told Marge. "Just shut up and let me think of a solution, okay?" I shouted at Ava.

"Well, unless you got a cure for vampirism outta your ass in the second few minutes, you're shit outta luck." Ava said back. She was frowning, but her eyes showed her remorse, as she was sympathetic, but there was nothing to be done now.

"I know, I know, okay, just..." If only I could remove it.

I blinked. Why not remove the bite?

But how?

I thought for a moment. I need a link, and it needs to be from me to something to take the vampire bite.

Then my eyes landed on all the blood around me.

And that's the connection.

"Give me a second!" I said to Ava and Marge. "Just hold on for a second."

I focused and expanded my Spatial Awareness with as much power as I can. Now that my Spiral Energy was firing up, I felt my range go much further.

My eyes snapped open as I found a target.

"Whadda gonna do-Woah." Ava blinked at I disappeared from her sight with a small bang of air filling up the empty space I was in. "Where did he-WHAT THE FUCK!?"

I came back, holding a giant lion in place by it's mane. It roared and struggled with me, but I punch it down in it's snout and looked it in the eyes.

"Silence."

The lion went still. I could see emerald light reflected in it's eyes. Huh, my eyes shined a bit green.

Not important.

I kept my hold over the lion as I leaned over Marge.

"Sorry about this milady."

"Wha-MMMM!?" Marge's eyes widened as I kissed her, opening her mouth wide and let my tongue invade to touch and grab her tongue and saliva as much as possible.

"God lord, what is up with your degenerate magi?" Ava said behind me.

I didn't focus on her. I kept exchanging saliva with Marge, to increase and strengthen the connection between us, through our fluids. I couldn't do it with blood and risk her going full vampire, but this was working.

I felt my Self encompass Marjutteta more and more, till I found it.

It was like a pulsing disgusting blood flower made of moonlight in my mind.

It was within my Self too now.

I pulled at it, and threw it fully into the ancient lion I was holding.

Ava's eyes widened as she saw the lion's eyes turn red and it's fang lengthening.

I pushed and launched the lion away.

"Take it out!" I pulled back from Marge to shout to Ava.

"no," Marge whined under me.

Shots of holy bullets rang out, and the vampiric lion never had the chance to react before it was taken out.

Ava then walked closer, took a round bottle out opened and poured it on Marge's face.

"Hey!" Marge shouted. I could see more liveliness in her, despite the gapping wound. The gems on her belt were glowing stronger. I guess there were working better now, without the vampire bite holding them back.

"Sweet baby Jesus, I can't fuckin believe it." Ava said with wide eyes, as Marge wasn't burned by the holy water. It just made her wet.

"Yeah, only thing left." I looked toward Marge's wound, and she grimaced.

"It's...fine." Marge said. "I will gain a scar but..." She grinned, but I could tell her usual cheer wasn't in it. "A warrior's scar is a badge of honor."

"Yeah," I looked toward the dragon and magi fight. Greggory had large gapping cuts all over his body, but they were healing rapidly. The magi was down to his last two swords, and didn't seem to be definitively winning yet. "Sorry, but you're gonna have to wait for that 'badge of honor'."

I grabbed Marge's diamond necklace, that was still intact around her neck somehow, and focused a transmutation spell on it.

"Wait, what are..." Marge said slowly.

The diamond opened up like a locket. I bit my thumb, making it bleed and put the blood drop inside, then locked it into a full diamond again. It was now turning red though.

"Fill that diamond with your Od, please." I said, to which Marge blushed for some reason.

I picked up Marge's shotgun, still with an emerald bullet with in it, and flooded it with Spiral Energy.

Charl Cristfallen had been a member Vice-Director Barthomeloi's Chelon Canticle Brigade for a few years now.

It had been his home for a long time, ever since he was first scouted by the Clocktower's Queen, and fell in love with her purpose. The fight the dangers that threatened the world and humanity. Yes, there were better organizations dedicated to such tasks, but it was Lady Barthomeloi Lorelei that helped him discover it.

Which is why, with a heavy heart he had to leave his comrade, who by now were all dead in the ritual site, to reach his Commander and deliver her the vital news he discovered.

The ritual cannot be undone. He will assist her with all his power, but that Dead Apostle Ancestor was likely only fighting them, holding to hold their attention till the ritual finished. That was the real trap.

What they must do, was retreat and blow up the whole mountain. They didn't have any other time to waste.

Which is why he felt frustrated that this dragon was taking too long to go down.

"Dammit, what does it take for you to stay down?" Honestly. Dragon durability and vampire regeneration was cheating.

"You. Will all. Burn." Greggory roared out.

Suddenly Charl saw that magus from before appear on the dragon's back, with a oversized gun of sorts. Charl thought back, wasn't he part of the volunteer corps?

The magus had one hand on the dragon's back, and another holding the large gun, balanced on Greggory's back, gun opening pressing to his scales.

Greggory suddenly stumbled down, as his wounds weren't healing anymore.

"Wha...what!?" He cried out in outrage.

Back with Marjutteta her wound was healing rapidly. No, it was reverse back in time to before she was hurt. Michael had Displaced the vampire's healing ability to Edelfelt girl.

"You...worm!" The dragon said once it looked back and noticed Michael.

Michael however was focused on Marge. The second her wound finished closing up, she gave the okay, and Michael fired the spiral shotgun.

At point blank, an emerald beam fired, piercing through the vampiric dragon's hide, his heart, his chest, and several floor down to the bedrock of the castle.

The Dead Apostle began to turn to ash. It was dead on the spot.
