Elsa had spent the entire morning in the infirmary with her sister as she was being checked by the Doctor. The redhead had confessed that she was feeling a little off lately. Her desire for chocolate had waned and been replaced by an entire slew of new things that she's never wanted before. She also had waves of sickness just hit her for a moment before passing every so often but they were pretty tame. Kristoff had commented under his breath that she has been having mood swings which earned him a solid punch to the arm.
As Doctor Steward ran his tests, Elsa already had an idea of what he would say and was doing her best to remain calm. When the older man finished his test he looked at the two of them for a second before speaking.
"Turns out you're fine, Your Highness, it just appears you're pregnant."
At the news Elsa imagined Anna squealing happily but her face grew confused like she didn't just understand what the man had just said. Kristoff on the other hand started to mutter to himself under his breath as his wife asked the Doctor to repeat himself.
"I said, you're pregnant Princess. Before you left by the looks of it.
Anna seemingly heard him that time and her mouth made an 'O' shape. Elsa was still stopping herself from jumping up and down knowing that their family was about to get a little bigger but was beginning to grow worried when Anna's face got uncomfortable. She looked down and rubbed her stomach seemingly trying to get a feel for the life that was growing inside of it but felt nothing.
Looking back up, she turned to the Doctor who also was curious at the lack of excitement he expected from the usually hyperactive girl. "So I'm pregnant and there will be a baby coming out of me?"
The older man's features turned from curiosity to understanding as he realized what was going on. The woman was in shock that she was pregnant, it wasn't that surprising, people have wildly varied reactions to the news. He looked over to the Prince consort who was still muttering to himself, catching a few words on how one raised a child. The Doctor usually expected the father to faint but the mountain man seemed to be taking it quite well. Turning back to the Princess who still had an uncomfortable expression on her face, he spoke calmly and gently.
"Yes, in nine months, you will give birth to a beautiful baby and your family will grow a little bigger."
He had used that line many times and it generally got the mother-to-be more accepting of her pregnancy. In the Princess's case, she took in the words and nodded her head saying that she understood, but he knew better. She was still in shock and needed a minute to process it, lest she develop complications further down the road. The Doctor motioned for the Queen to come closer so he could whisper in her ear.
"Her Highness is still having trouble accepting the news, but she will in time. It would be better to let her figure this out on her own or with the father for now. I suggest that you limit any factors that might cause her stress."
Elsa nodded and watched the Doctor go off to attend to other patients as she looked at her kid sister whose expression began to return to normal. Well...not the bubbly expression that she wore usually but the more inquisitive one whenever she was deep in thought or when she was in mid rambling. The blonde also turned to Kristoff who was still muttering to himself, the news likely making him panic and in his way to deal with it, he was trying to reassure himself he knew what to do.
The Doctor's words bounced around in her head and Elsa wanted to groan, she wasn't exactly the leading expert in relaxing. More than once, Edward pointed out that she was really tense as she worked hard and was usually reminded to take breaks even when she began taking them on her own volition. Unfortunately, the blonde's natural response to most situations was to become a little more stressed. So to ask her to keep any stress from her little sister was almost depressing laughable given the contradiction.
Regardless, Elsa shook her head and clapped her hands to get the married couple's attention.
"Ok, it's surely almost time for lunch. Why don't you two go ahead and get ready for it while I speak with His Highness and we'll join you."
Anna absentmindedly nodded and walked out the door in a daze with Kristoff in tow. The blonde felt the need to follow them to make sure they'll be fine but thought that maybe they needed some space to figure it out. Seeing them acting so out of character made her wonder how she would act if she found out she was pregnant.
The thought honestly hadn't really crossed her mind after having intercourse with Edward, her mind was too far gone to even think that far. With some heat to her cheeks she remembered that everytime the young man finished it would be inside her and given the frequency they've committed the act, it made her wonder if she should ask for a check up herself. She didn't have any morning sickness or symptoms that usually pointed to pregnancy but with her magic, perhaps the process was different.
For a moment, she actually considered what life would be like if she and Edward did have a child. The blonde knew that despite his heavily ingrained pessimism, the young man would make an excellent father as he would not want to have anyone suffer the way he had as a child. She would be afraid to touch her own child as she'd remember the time she struck Anna with magic as a child and could see that same scenario playing over again anytime she thought of being near a child.
But…
Having a little bundle in her hands being proof that it was her and Edward's, not anyone else's was nice. To be able to shower their child with the love and support that they yearned for as children, it was a nice thought.
However, like most fantasies, the Queen of Arendelle snapped herself out of it as she walked into the throne room.
Ahimoth was already there, heavily bandaged and requiring a pair of crutches to help him stand. He looked better, the torture he recieved had left visible marks but his face hid any pain perfectly. Nodding his head to her as an impromptu bow, he spoke as the woman took a seat on her throne.
"It's good to see that your recovery is going well, Your Highness."
"I've had worse." She watched him shrug but could see that he had a troubled look in his eyes. He was likely remembering who put him in such condition and didn't know how to make heads or tails about it. The blonde had wanted to warn him about who he was about to face but she couldn't get the words out of their mouth before he was gone. When he awoke in the infirmary, one of the staff told him how he arrived there and that Edward was the one who got him to safety from the intruder. He mulled over the information before asking to be released so he could rest on his ship. As far as she knew, the man never expressed how he felt about the situation.
The man hesitated marginally before turning his eyes to look at the blonde. "So...I was told Edward dealt with the intruder and suffered some injuries…" The man looked quite uncomfortable expressing concern for Edward but nonetheless the curious undertone was easy to pick out.
"Yes, Edward did suffer some injuries but he is completely fine. In fact he was more concerned about your condition and asked if we could give him updates concerning you." The young man had told her that he would like to know if there was any change to the Prince's condition but felt that he shouldn't physically be there as there was still spilled blood between them.
Ahimoth nodded and fell silent but the blonde could tell that there was more on his mind. She wasn't going to push if he wasn't ready to speak. Several emotions swirled through his eyes, guilt being a dominant one that she had learned to easily be able to pick out from others, thanks to her proximity to Edward.
"...do you know where he currently is? There's something I would like to speak to him about."
Elsa was about to answer when the throne room doors opened and Grace walked in with a few guards following behind her. Curious as to why the woman felt the need to just walk in the throne room without knocking, the royal was about to ask what had happened but her voice died in her throat when the older woman moved to the side and revealed Edward himself with his hands bound in shackles. The young man's face had an unrepentant bored look that was aimed at his hands, likely thinking that he could've freed himself if he really wished to.
Elsa stood up and crossed the room with purposeful strides while Ahimoth slowly turned their way to watch the events unfold. Her mind was abuzz with questions asking why the young man was restrained. The emotional part of her wanted to demand that he be released this instant as she was sure he did nothing wrong but Grace was a loyal woman who was very methodical and would not do something without reason. The Queen stopped in front of the assistant and gave her a regal look that revealed nothing of how she was feeling or thinking.
"Ms. Stillwater, can you explain why you have the young man instrumental in avoiding a catastrophe under armed guard and you felt the need to barge into the throne room without knocking?"
"Forgive the intrusion Your Majesty, I thought it would be best if you handled this particular situation as quickly and discreetly as possible. The young man in question, Edward, was apprehended for assaulting two guards as well as the guest you have occupying the east wing."
Elsa's mask slipped as her head snapped to the young man who looked at her with a neutral expression, his face giving absolutely nothing away. She expected that he would look guilty or try to explain but his eyes were eerily calm and he seemed to not be bothered in the slightest of what he was accused for. The silence between the two gave Grace the go ahead to continue speaking.
"He also injured Cameron Klein who attempted to stop him and threw off four other guards. They had minor injuries and were sent to the infirmary. The guest in particular did not suffer any permanent injuries however there was no telling how far he would have gone had he not surrendered after being threatened with lethal force."
Ahimoth would've whistled at how bad that sounded but kept it to himself as he stared at the young man who kept his eyes firmly on Elsa. As the woman spoke, Edward kept the same expression on his face yet his eyes were a different story. While they were calm, there seemed to be an underlying vibe to them that suggested that he was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Despite the rather eye opening experience he shared with his former best friend, Ahimoth still recognized the look in his eyes.
When that shoe dropped, he was going to explode.
"Your guest requests that he speak with you as soon as possible to provide his account of the confrontation and assures you that he is not the one that provoked it."
Elsa wanted to roll her eyes and place her trust in Edward but as Queen she couldn't appear to allow personal feelings to dictate her decisions. Schooling her expression, she turned to the young man and spoke with a voice that did the late royals justice.
"Edward, these are quite disturbing allegations; I would like to hear your side of the story to explain such actions."
"There's nothing to explain, I did everything she described."
The response was quick and without hesitation. The blonde was taken aback on the inside in the blunt way he answered but kept her regal mask on as she was looked upon by her subjects.
"Could you explain why you would take such actions, considering until now that you've been an upstanding citizen of Arendelle and have no prior lapses of control."
The words were from an understanding Queen who was trying to give someone the benefit of doubt so they could tell their side and lessen the severity of their actions. Her eyes on the other hand were that of someone who cared for another quite immensely and felt that the person they cared for wouldn't have done these things without a good reason.
The young man almost wished that he could offer some excuse or just simply say that he lost his cool when he saw the alchemist because of his childhood but all he could think about was the fact that she never told him he was here. The worry he had over not being able to find Talib after the wedding kept him up for hours at night. Elsa had been right there laying with him in his own bed as his mind continued to generate possible places and ideas of where the elusive man went. The blonde noticed how tense he was and tried to get him to relax but none of it came to be so for those two days, he did not sleep.
He scoured Arendelle and was quite dismayed to not find a trace of either Talib or the woman. He asked around and no one had any information which led to a feeling of frustration that plagued his mind. When the field exercise was about to begin, Edward begrudgingly left the search to Elsa who said that she would notify him if she found out anything. While he wasn't mad she didn't tell him right away as Rahim's soul echo attacked and things were a bit complicated, she still could've said something when they went out on the town or when she was drowning away her sorrows.
The last thought was crass but he couldn't help it, he just found out that not only did she find his childhood tormenter, she actually let him stay in the castle. She knew how dangerous the man was, he shared with her the nightmare of living with that monster and she allowed him to stay here without telling him? The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to lose his mind in anger and demand an explanation but for now he was trying to keep calm.
But he was beginning to fail.
"I'd be happy to explain after you tell me why you didn't tell me that my father was staying in the castle."
His words were controlled and clipped but seemed to echo as everyone stared at him when he said that his father was here. Elsa kept her eyes facing him and scrunched up her face in a small frown as the reality of what he said sank in from everyone around her. The words he spoke were not what one would expect to be aimed at a Queen, it was more like a hurt jab that a lover took at another for keeping something from them.
In private, Elsa would've told him why she didn't tell him in the first place.
In the throne room surrounded by an advisor and guards that witnessed him assault their comrades, she did what a Queen was expected to do.
"I am under no obligation to share with you every decision I make if it is for the welfare of Arendelle. Mr. Sobel is a personal guest of mine who is providing vital information for a concern of mine and I will not allow any harm to fall to anyone under my charge. You admitted to assaulting members of my Royal Guard and appear to be untroubled doing so. That is unacceptable and I strongly suggest you rethink your current position."
She spoke in a clear and no nonsense tone that would likely intimidate other diplomats if they received the same from the Snow Queen, but Edward was different. Upon hearing her speak, the young man's face split into a smile, one that Elsa could tell was fake and hiding vindictive motives.
"How right you are, Your Majesty. You have no obligation to share anything with me. Your duty is to your kingdom first and I should respect that." Edward spoke in a polite yet condescending way that Elsa has never heard before and honestly didn't like it one bit.
"I mean, what was I thinking? Asking the Queen for a straight answer when her first instinct is to run away from tough subjects seems like a complete waste of time. Had I not stumbled upon your guest, I would be blissfully unaware for however long you saw fit despite the fact that he is my family and not yours."
The jab he made toward her was malicious and likely would've never come out the mouth of the young man under normal circumstances. Part of her wanted to let it slide and not hold it against him but her mouth already spoke when her heart felt the stab of pain that came from his words.
"I run away from tough subjects? This coming from a man who spent a year running from his own mistakes and not being able to own up to them? How hypocritical of you Sir Edward."
The low blow she had retaliated with stung but the young man only let it fuel his anger as he took a step forward while snapping the shackles that bound his hands so he could get in the woman's face. The guards looked ready to jump on the young man once again to restrain him but the Queen shot a hand out in their direction telling them to hold their ground as she held hers.
"You would know all about being a hypocrite wouldn't you? Not even two days have passed from when you found out that your own council kept something that was very important to you and you were rightly pissed about it. Now you're pulling the same shit on someone else."
His words were low and were meant to wound.
Elsa shouldered through them and striked back with a hiss of her own.
"That was different, I knew you would react this way and didn't want to let your past issues affect you now. I was trying to protect you."
"Protect me? Didn't your council hide those deaths from you to protect you and your pacifistic image? Doesn't sound too different to me."
The blonde gave him a hard stare in which he returned with an equal intense glare. Neither of them noticed that more people actually began to walk into the throne room. Kai, Gerda, and Hector came in from one of the side entrances while Anna and Kristoff came in from the main doors. All of them were instantly drawn to the two in the middle of the throne room that were in one another's face. Anna's face was somewhat back to normal and she likely would've squealed to see the two lean in for a kiss but upon further inspection, the redhead could see there was no happiness between them.
"I didn't do it so I could hold it over your head later, he has valuable information that I cannot afford to ignore!"
Under normal circumstances, Edward might've accepted that line of reasoning but in his current mindset, he already had a retort on the tip of his tongue.
"He could be lying! The bastard could be lying to you so he could get in the perfect position to screw you later."
"I've already considered that and addressed it, I have him and his family under surveillance and took measures to contain him. I have this under control."
"Under control?! You couldn't even handle Envy on your own, what makes you possibly think you can contain someone that made that monster."
He didn't know why he even brought that up, it just flowed from his mouth and he couldn't even attempt to take it back.
"You're bringing that up again, like I said before I don't need a big strong man to fight my battles!"
The scenario was becoming quite familiar to their argument on the clocktower where no one was around to witness it. Now as the two of them grew louder, everyone in the room could easily tell that this wasn't just between a Queen and an instructor.
"Well you certainly sounded like you needed one when you were about to be raped!"
The last word that flew out of his mouth echoed throughout the throne room as everyone's eyes widened. Anna's hands flew to her mouth as she gasped at what she just heard. Elsa never talked about what those bandits did to her and the redhead couldn't believe that almost happened to her sister. Kristoff's jaw dropped at what the young man said and instantly felt that he crossed a really big line. Hector actually began to take a step forward to separate the two of them but the blonde moved first.
Her hand whipped out and flew toward the young man's cheek but was stopped centimeters from its target when his hand snatched her wrist. Edward's eyes didn't leave hers as his harsh expression did not soften in the slightest even with the hurt expression that was in the blonde's sky blue orbs. Repulsed by his touch, she tried to rip her hand away from his grip but could not succeed. As she gave a few more tugs all the while staring into his cold and unchanging expression, the final straw was drawn when he leaned down and said one last thing to her face.
"I'm not even trying and you can't handle me, what will you do when he takes advantage of your kindness the same way everyone else does?"
Wrath saw it coming, and blocked all of the young man's senses so he didn't because the predator felt that he had this coming.
The sound of ice shattering filled the room as Elsa slammed her foot against the ground so hard that the ice shoe she was wearing shattered and cut into the bottom of her foot. Next to her a pillar of ice shot out of the ground with astonishing speed and slammed into the young man's chest so hard that it knocked him off his feet and across the room making him hit the throne room doors and break them as they opened inward.
The entire throne room was stunned and the only sound was Elsa's hard breathing as she had her hands clenched and her eyes blazing with anger. Anna and Kristoff couldn't take their eyes off the blonde who they never expected to act with so much aggression and in such a way. Grace's eyes widened as well as her professional mask broke as she looked at the hole in the throne room doors and the two legs that were sticking out of it. The guards kept alternating looking from the woman to the large doors as they all took a small step away from the royal.
Hector was the first one to move as he went over to Edward who was on his back with his feet propped up. The young man had his eyes closed and there was some blood leaking from his mouth and nose, likely from his chest. With his clothes in the way, the noble couldn't tell how much damage there was but judging by the force, it must've been significant. Had it been a regular person, the noble might've been worried but as it was Edward, he kneeled down and shook the instructor's shoulder.
"Hey, get up. I know you've had worse, now get it together before someone sees how fucked you are."
Edward groaned as he opened his eyes and briefly scanned his surroundings trying to make sense of where he was. Upon noticing the hole in the doors where his feet were dangling on the other side, his mind seemed to catch up and a frown appeared on his face. Swinging his legs out of the hole, he rolled over and put his legs under himself before standing up. Placing a thumb against one of his nostrils, he blew out a bit of blood out of his nose and wiped the corners of his mouth with the back of his hand.
With his face free of any blood, the young man looked ready to storm back into the throne room to have words with the blonde whose hands began to frost over as she matched his expression through the hole his body made. Hector tried to get in front of the door but the young man moved him out of the way by firmly placing a hand on his chest and nudging him away from the door. As he was about to push open the doors and give Elsa a piece of his mind a surprising voice filled the throne room.
"THAT'S QUITE ENOUGH!"
Everyone jumped at the sudden voice and turned to see Gerda with a heaving red face that was blazing with anger. Seeing the usually kind, happy woman raising her voice and having that kind of facial expression threw everyone from a loop. Even Elsa and Edward looked over at her in surprise and both recoiled when her expression was aimed exclusively at the two of them. The older woman zeroed in on the blonde first, whose frost dissolved with the look, and pointed at the door behind her.
"Elsa, go to your room. This. Instant."
The young woman was taken aback by the hiss that came out of the older woman's mouth for a moment before she remembered what had happened a few moments ago and tried to argue. "Why do I have to go? He's the one who-"
"I. DON'T. CARE. Your room, right now."
Elsa's mouth dropped and she considered bringing up her status as Queen to remind the woman who she was ordering but when Gerda's eyes narrowed, the blonde felt her feet moving on their own accord in the direction the older woman pointed in. As she walked past the woman, she got a glimpse of Kai's face who had a stern look aimed right at her which made her shrink under its gaze and make her hurry to the door and walk through it.
When the door closed with an echo, everyone couldn't believe that their all powerful Snow Queen was just reduced to a little girl by two servants with just a few looks and words. At least, that's what Edward thought until the two of them zeroed in on him with their expressions and he felt his heart stop. Gerda started to walk up to him with each step sounding like the stomp of a giant coming to feast on his flesh. His heart started beating faster and louder with each step that his ears started to hurt until she was standing right in front of him.
The expression on her face was the scariest thing he's ever experienced. Period.
He was at her complete mercy and both of them knew it. The older woman leveled a finger at him and spoke in a whisper but each word thundered in his ears. "Now you listen to me, you're going to do exactly what I say will not say another word. You are going to go with Mr. Bowman to the infirmary and get yourself looked at, when the doctor gives you the all clear, you will leave this castle. I don't care what you do but you will not leave Arendelle or return to the castle until I send for you. I don't care about your job training the guards, they can survive without you, Walter will be informed on what went on here…"
Edward was too scared to blink or even swallow as he listened to her speak. Her voice was calmer than the one she aimed at Elsa, yet the power behind it was still apparent. This woman was like Elsa's mother and it stood to reason that when she needed to, the older woman had a voice that would get complete compliance from her pseudo daughter. For him though, the power behind her voice bound him all the same, the rare few times that Dawn scolded Rahim felt familiar in this moment. It never occurred to him to consider Gerda a mother figure, but right now, he couldn't even think of saying anything back to her.
"...you should be ashamed of yourself."
That one sentence knocked the wind of his chest harder than that ice pillar did.
"When two people who care about each other as much as you two do have a problem, they talk it out. Even if it's a hard subject, they try to look at it from the other's perspective and try to understand their side and work together to compromise. They don't attack each other just so the other could feel the pain that they're feeling. That isn't love. Love is when you put someone else first, you recognize their needs and do your best to fulfill them and expect nothing in return. I don't know why you two are fighting with one another and I don't care, how you two were acting was not the way two people in love should act."
She lowered her finger and her face lost its hard edge and took on a disappointed one that honestly hurt even more to look at. "Now go. Think about what you did and ask yourself if you're ok with what you said."
Edward felt his legs automatically begin to obey her as he turned and started walking toward the throne room doors and before he could leave, the guards once again surrounded him. They likely were going to try and detain him again but Kai spoke loud enough for them to hear.
"That will not be necessary, Mr. Bowman will escort Edward to the infirmary."
The flat tone in which he spoke left no room for argument as the noble walked up beside the young man and nudged him out of the door. Kai watched the two of them leave before Anna shook out of her stupor and seemed torn on which way she should go. After a few repetitions of looking at the door the blonde went out of and the throne room doors, she took a step toward Elsa's door but Gerda spoke first.
"No dear, I need to have a talk with her alone. Also, I don't want you speaking to Edward either. He has enough on his plate."
Gerda left the room using the door that Elsa went through and closed it leaving the throne room once again quiet. Kai walked over to Grace and fixed her with his usual stoic look that had her standing at attention for him. "Ms. Stillwater, I appreciate your foresight of keeping this matter internally instead of bringing it to the council's attention. Edward will be dealt with accordingly as he did assault our Royal guard members. In the meantime, those reports you have been compiling for Her Majesty, I wish for you to deliver them to her study so that she may review them later. After doing so, I would prefer if you and the rest of these men do not say a word about what happened in this throne room to anyone else. I assume you know why I ask this of you."
The woman did what Elsa just did proved that she could be pushed to the point of violence. It also revealed a secret of hers that she likely didn't want others to know. So the woman nodded her head and quickly went on her own way to fulfill the orders she had been given. Which left Kai to go to the barracks then into Stonewell's office where the man was looking over a rough sketch of their patrol maps. Upon hearing the door to his office open, the older man didn't not expect to see the plump man and his facial expression gave that away.
"Kai? What are you doing here?"
The servant took a seat in front of the Captain's desk and explained what had just transpired in the throne room. As he spoke, the old man became more and more pensive yet remained quiet. After Kai finished speaking, he focused on the Captain's face trying to get an early reading on how he was feeling. Far from the rage that the servant expected the old man to have, the old man retained his pensive expression on his face before looking back up.
"So the two of them had their first fight? Well, it was bound to happen, especially given what they were fighting about." Kai said nothing as Stonewell sighed before he wheeled out from behind his desk. After rolling past the furniture, the old man stopped pushing himself and relaxed his hands and allowed the servant to come behind him and push his wheelchair.
"Alright, looks like I need to give the runt a talking to. Do you have any idea how long Gerda wants him to stay away?"
Kai shook his head no as the two of them went out to the training yard. A few guards stopped what they're doing to gawk at Kai actually being allowed to wheel Stonewell especially when the old soldier expressly said he didn't want anyone pushing him around.
"No. You know Gerda, she feels first and thinks second. I'm sure she'll want him to Her Majesty apologize after she calms down a bit more. She already is on her way to speak with Elsa, so I can't imagine it being that long."
The Captain chuckled as an old memory appeared in his mind. It was Gerda, one time yelling at him for being a 'heartless statue of tobacco' over something. The rant that she sent his way actually made him uncomfortable but he knew that whatever the woman said, it always came from a place of love. The words she said might've been tough but the feelings were there, it was one of the many reasons that Stonewell came to enjoying her company.
Kai remained quiet as always as he pushed the Captain up the steps and into the castle. The plump man was always quiet and focused on his job and being a professional as he directed the staff in the castle. Stonewell originally didn't think much of the ginger but after some time, a modicum of respect came between the two.
Once the two of them were rivals and now they were friends…
The plump servant stopped at the entrance to the infirmary and was about to open the doors when Stonewell lightly grabbed his wrist. Turning to look at the old man who kept him from entering, he didn't have to wait long before he spoke.
"Tell me Kai, how are things between you two?"
It didn't take too much effort to guess what the Captain was talking about. The servant had always wondered when the old man would actually bring it up.
"They're fine, we mostly focus on making life easier for the royal family."
Stonewell hummed then spoke once again. "She still wakes up in the middle of the night to have tea in the kitchen?"
Kai nodded his head. What many people didn't know was that the late Queen Iduna enjoyed having tea in the middle of the night after singing her two daughters asleep. The monarch used to make her own tea but upon being caught by Gerda one night, the two of them made it a nightly routine to have tea with one another. After her and King Agnar were lost at sea, Gerda continued having tea in the kitchen, her way of remembering her friend the Queen.
"You should join her sometime, keep her company."
The plump man had an eyebrow raised at the suggestion and responded. "I'll do that."
"I mean it, Kai, you better take care of her."
The servant narrowed his eyes not in anger but in concentration as he tried to see what lied behind the old man's eyes which would give some insight of why he was bringing this up now. Stonewell's eyes met his and he had a tired smile on his face as he actually slumped in his wheelchair and Kai could see that behind the legend that was Walter Stonewell, there was an old man that everyday began to weigh on him.
"Why are you bringing this up now?"
The Captain only took a deep breath and he shrugged his shoulders before he rolled to the doors and grasped them himself. "Just making sure nothing remains unsaid."
Before the servant could ask what he meant by that, Stonewell's neutral mask slid back on his face and he straightened himself out to appear to be the imposing Captain that he always was.
