Calm Eggplant Enjoying A Simple Life (Campione - Mash Kyrielight SI Chapter 4)
I need something to deal with the heat.
I block another earth shatter blow from Surya-the seven horses gave it away-and gritted my teeth as I was pushed back again, my feet and shield leaving a line in the sand. My shield was still solid.
But I now look like a fucking lobster!
He's flying around, looking all smug.
And he has every right to be, I'm dealing with a Hindu God. The Servants lone were all bullshit in the Nasuverse, so what would the gods be like?
BANG!
I was pushed back again, this time I almost lost my balance, and fell to one knee to make sure I didn't fall down, so I can get back up quickly. The heat was still a problem though.
I felt ice in my veins, as I could feel through my connection to my Noble Phantasm, that my shield is weakening.
"Oh? Looks like that shield isn't indestructible after all." Surya chuckled having sensed the same thing.
Why? How?
Mash's shield could stop the Ars Almadel Salomonis. An attack from a fucking god, Hindu or not, shouldn't weaken it.
Is...Is my will that's the problem? My heart isn't strong enough or pure enough?
Kick his a-ass!
I blinked at suddenly imaging my Inner Mash saying that, while doing a guts pose, with her squirrel-like pouty look of determination.
I imaged Mash's cutely scandalized look at calling her serious face squirrel-like.
I smiled with a huff.
Look at me, I'm so pathetic compared to the real thing, I need my imagination of Mash to cheer me up.
I got up, my grin back ready to face this god head on.
Something to make me unharmed by fire. Walking through fire.
Surya clicked his tongue at seeing my renewed resolve.
"So you haven't given up yet. Admirable, yet at the moment, you look as nothing but a tender virgin swan cooked for a feast." He chuckled.
My eyes widened, as the solution flashed into my head. This dumbass just gave me the answer.
"I'M A VIRGIN!" I laughed as I found my myth!
"Err, Ichirou-san, is, did Kyrielight-san take too many hits, or..."
"She's the Witch Lucertia's niece."
"Oh."
My Inner Mash looked at me red-face with her jaw dropped at me announcing such a thing, but I didn't care.
"She is loyal!" I shouted as my mana surged. "One who is chaste even through captivity and temptation of freedom. Upholding duty and fidelity! Bring out the fire, the proof of innocence and virtue is revealed! Sita Is Faithful!"
BANG!
Once more, Surya slammed his horse and Trisula into my Noble Phantasm. I felt the heat and power of earthquakes run into my shield, and this time fully stop.
"You!" Surya looked at me with gritted teeth, and fire from his eyes. "You would call on my son's wife to protect you?"
I smirked back, and could feel my aches go away.
No, my skin was literally lightening up and healing from the presence of fire and heat. Since Sita walked through fire unharmed, that health must by proven to show her innocence.
And of course me being a virgin means, I don't have to work in how I'm in a relationship but loyal into the spell. Nope! Mash's shyness in confessing to her Senpai, and my failed former love life means I'm still 'Pure'.
Shut up, Inner Mash. I'm not sad you're sad. Regardless.
Meaning!
"Yep! And I heal from fire now, bitch!"
CLANK!
I pushed upward, knocking Surya's Trisula and horses back, yet before I could spin and slash them, they were going again.
"Right, I need something to hit them with. But how!?"
Surya was flying around, winding up for another assault.
Then my mind just had a brain fart.
I saw the image of Quetzalcoatl in a brown robe.
Use the Lucha, Mash.
My breath almost left me from wanting to laugh.
Surya dived forward, reaching the ground and pivoting with divine riding skills to head straight at me in a direct line, parallel to the ground.
I didn't have time to think.
I activated Lord Camelot. The castle appeared behind me.
I jumped over the cross shield, using the top side of the cross as a jumping point. I spun in the air so the world was upside down in my view. Surya's surprised face in slow-mo was funny.
I dug into my Saint Graph, to Galahad's legend. Succeed Phantasm.
If I can draw Skills from other Classes then why not Noble Phantasms.
Lancer Class. The Spear.
I felt resistance, like what I'm doing shouldn't be possible. Shouldn't be done.
But there was no rule against it. Why should there be a limit?
Mash always had this power. She inherited Galahad's power, meaning she is his successor!
"COME FORTH!"
Surya reacted, pulling back his Trisula and adjusting for this horses sudden stop from slamming into Lord Camelot.
Yet I was closer.
"Cruentum Lancea!"
My lance materialized and slammed into Surya's chest, digging upward into his shoulder.
I flipped in the air, holding the spear, as Surya was thrown off his chariot.
I landed back on my feet with Surya under me on the ground, spear in his shoulder.
Damn, missed his heart since I was looking at this upside down.
With a cry I pulled back the lance and prepared to stab down again.
My instincts flared up, and I summoned back my shield to me.
Taking a hit from the divine herd as they horses moved on their own, to assaulted me to protect their master.
I was launched away due to only using the shield, not the Noble Phantasm, but I took no damage, thankfully.
"...Once more." Sura panted as I slowly stood up. I touched his chest, then drew his hand back to see it covered in blood. "Once more you drew blood from me."
Looking from his own blood to me, his eyes narrowed, his brows tightened. His rage turned quietened further into resolve. I was now an enemy, rather than something that personally offended him.
Yet I already got a critical hit. What's he gonna do?
Inner Mash's facepalm was meaty loud.
What? Of course I was joking and taking this seriously.
But now with the Longinus-
"Come forth, my astra!"
Oh. Fuck.
"Vanquish the darkness, bring forth my Light and show why deserts are born!"
Part of me wanted to throw my spear while he was incanting.
My instincts screamed to forget attacking my defend.
My instincts kept me alive so far.
"Lord Camelot!"
And in an instant I dismissed the spear to hold the shield with both hands.
The boom that followed didn't push or throw me back.
I was launched with my phantasm castle into the air. It was only when I could finally focus to look again, that I saw Surya holding a golden glowing bow made of sunlight, and an arrow made of the sun's heart, that I saw what hit me.
Another arrow launched, another boom that echoed into the world, and I was launched further up into the sky.
I was alive, I was unharmed and I could survive this.
But...
"Umm, I'm a bit too high."
Another boom explosion and I was launched into the Stratosphere.
"You are strong, Matthew Kyrielight." Surya voice reached me with that divine power bullshit. Another boom, and I was launch further up the atmosphere. "I admit, you and your will are indestructible." Another boom, air was getting thinner. "But you are still mortal." BOOM. "And you need to breath."
The seventh arrow struck, and the sky was darkening. I was on my way to space.
What's worse, the sunnvabitch was determined to make sure I choke out.
The sun arrows that were launch didn't disperse or anything. They were still there, hitting my shield and ensuring I keep rising higher into the sky.
If I dismiss my shield to fall back down, the astras will incinerate me. If I do nothing, waiting for the arrows to lose power and disperse, I'll be a marshmallow satellite.
Inner Mash was telling me now isn't the time to joke.
But when am I suppose to joke then, Mash? When!?
I can't think of a spell to deal with this shit.
This isn't like when Obi Quetzalcoatl came to mind and I used the Longinus-!
A spark blasted in my mind. The idea came instantly.
But it was stupid. It had no basis in the magic of this world.
And I have no other options, so it has to be stupid enough to work.
"In the name of the Goddess of Lucha!" Against all odds my magic surged...and began to take form.
"Your majesty the greatest of Good! I call upon your legend, your battle against the Earth Mother that sought to drown the world!"
Why can't I pull on Mash's history? Her life story is legendary after all!
And if I can do that, then I can call on events that happened in it!
"I shall follow in your footsteps, noble winged serpent!"
The astras struggled against my mana, contested, wrangled and fought.
Yet this far away from Surya, in this situation that was ideal to recreate that moment.
"And devour the Sun!"
The sun arrow buckled, and were absorbed by my shield.
Back on the ground, Ichirou, Touma and the rest of the Mages, saw the shield knight be launched into the sky, and had to resign to the fact that she was dead.
The Heretic God will continue his rampage, and they could only hope he will leave soon.
"WHAT!?"
Except suddenly, they were treated to the sight of the Sun God look utter shocked...and afraid.
"I shall be as the meteor that ended the Jurassic Age!"
The Around Round Shield turned orange with the core shining white, glowed with incandescent power.
I had no clue how to use this as a weapon in this situation, or how to get back down.
"And brought Light and Hope to birth the Age of Man!"
So I just placed on foot on the back of the shield, right on the handle, and as if in response to my will, my armored heel locked in place to the shield.
I kicked off the 'air' with my other foot, half-expecting nothing to happen...
And immediately blasted down to earth like a rod from god. The feel in my stomach worse than any crazy roller coaster ride.
"Último Talón Ardiente!"
My grin could have split my face, I couldn't stop laughing or smiling.
The earth was rapidly coming closer, and I could see the whole of Japan, getting bigger, bigger and bigger. Then Osaka, and all too quickly.
I saw panicking, horrified face of the God of the Sun.
BANG!
The shocking impact, caused a bit of an earthquake, and if there were any windows intact left in the city they were gone now.
But above all, Surya was facing my shield, using every power, Authority and ability he had.
But under the weight of his own sun arrows, power of his meteoric spells, physics, and just the legend of Lucha Goddess herself.
Eventually.
Surya. Crumbled!
And that day, I killed a god.
